Do rangers have a mechanic that makes them invisible when stunned/CC’ed?
I know there are runes that can give stealth but yesterday a ranger I fought got like 2-3 seconds of invisibility every time I stunned him on my warrior.

There’s a trait for it.

Makes sense. Is there no CD on it? I swear I shield bashed and he went invis, then when he came out I Skull Cracked and he went invis again :S

There is an internal cooldown for it of 30 seconds
- ( Hide in Plain Sight) Applies camouflage when you are dazed, knocked down, launched, pushed back, or stunned. This effect cannot trigger more than once every 30 seconds.

The other option they have is this:
(Shared Anquish)-Incoming disables (stun, daze, knockback, knockdown, sink, float, fear, launch) are transferred to your pet. This effect can only trigger once every 90 seconds.

I see, I see. I’m having the same issue to a lesser degree just with lvling up in pvp. I’m just after a certain set of skins from paid tourny tokens (which I just finished) and wolf rank for the cool wolf emote ( I think it’s adorable T_T) But then I don’t feel I’ll have a reason to keep going after rank 30 unless they introduce some pvp only achievable skins. At this rate I’ll be done by the day after tomorrow as I’m at rank 29. I have noticed that in the hotjoins there’s alot of this ego thing going on, people trash talking and running around in zergs, people who will chase me to the other side of the map trying to kill me instead of capping points because they are mad I knocked them off the edge at skyhammer.

There’s this strange emotional involvement that people develop and I think it’s partly because there’s not many other reasons to pvp if you already have the skins and animal summon that you want.

Mindlessly running the same dungeon over and over again was not the purpose of that infusion, there is nothing to refund.

Please tell me what the purpose of that infusion was, I’m begging to know.

That’s a nice excuse for lazy design.

Though I prefer ‘optimal’ setups to truly hybrid systems. It’s so easy to level to 80 in GW2 that not having a mesmer/guardian/warrior/whatever isn’t really an issue and gearing one up at 80 takes even less time.

With hybrid (hi Diablo 3), you just have a pile of cow dung that goes stale after a very short time.

Still no excuse for not bringing other classes up to par and has been the plight of MMORPGs since the very beginning.

They may as well, no one is arguing they shouldn’t bring the other classes up to par… Except for maybe some fanatics who think this game is flawless. I however, think that it’s not due to lazyness in the sense that you may.

The real laziness is that they wont split spvp/wvw and pve skills on the basis that it would be too confusing for players and not consistent. Well I suppose I have news for them – Nerfing and buffing skills, traits, classes every kitten patch or so is not exactly kittening consistent or less confusing.

Rofl, how sad..No wonder we got nerfed..kitten Muffins like that who lose to a full Ranger Team cause they don’t know how to play SPvP worth a kitten results in a nerf for us in every other mode.

This is why Anet needs to quit listening to SPvP folks, its quite obvious that most of the top “players” are just baddies who can’t even figure out how to play the bloody mode they’re suppose to be good at.

Problem is spvp has devolved into an ego war. No one wants to accept that they screwed up. They just want to call ‘OP!!!’ on the classes that beat them. Now imagine that not only are you some ‘top pvper’, but the devs think you are so good, and such a great authority, that they are willing to talk to you on twitch. Must be mighty fine… now imagine some random no name ranger team smashes you while you’re sitting all the way up there yonder… You’re not going to accept you were bested no.. you’re going to claim they had the class advantage, you’re going to say that the only reason you lost (because let’s face it, you’re the best, even the devs think so) was because the classes you faced were overpowered and in need of a serious nerf.

Been running pretty much the same thing for months.. thanks for letting the devs know what’s next on the nerf agenda -.-

I play spirit ranger myself, although I run sb/gs and I can tell you right now it’s not OP. It’s a perfectly viable build and I’m really enjoying it, but there are plenty of counters, especially control skills, condi spams and immobilizes. Talk about kitten-hurt losers, cant just accept defeat gracefully. And this coming from a guy who plays ele, come on now that’s laughably hypocritical.

Thief isn’t OP, but that build looks like it could make me a plump sitting duck.

I’ve seen some AH+EM builds running Soldier runes to cover for PoV and 15 in Radiance with GS or Hammer + Staff to interesting effect. I don’t think it’s standard, but it does what it’s supposed to really well.

I used to run that, then I realized AH really isn’t needed in dungeons, so I removed the points up to that and put them elsewhere..Feels much better.

Just tried CoE. It was horrible. Got destroyed like 6 times, that subject alpha guy have a insane rate of spell/skill spam, everything one shot you, i can’t dodge every 3 seconds, even with specs for vigor and sigil of energy. Seriously, it was horrible.

I don’t know if was the group > 2 mesmers + 1 ranger + 1 engineer.

Also, people hate newbies and LFG for this dungeon is a desert.

A few things makes this fight easier.

Dodging at the right time. (Count to 3 as stated above). I like to make sure my dodge is set to one key, ‘V’) instead of double tap. Double tap lengthens your reaction time.

High Dps party eliminates time for error. You should really only need to dodge between 1 and 3 times per encounter depending on how often he decides to do and how quickly he dies.

A block and condi removal for any errors/ crystallize bugs.
Disable ‘Melee assist.’ in your F11 options so that you are able to walk through Alpha.

t’s great that Kiel wants to put a discount on WP costs, that’s really useful for people who don’t have an air ship to fly around in. It’s a real shame the player didn’t just defeat a bunch of pirates who owned an air ship, that could come in real handy as an alternative to WPs.

Correction- It’s under run by pugs and for good reason. They cant dodge and their dps is crap. It’s spammed the hell out of by organized groups and guilds.

When you right click those dungeon tokens they even give you an option to ‘deposit collectible.’ But it’s grayed out. Coincidence? I THINK NOT.

You need 0 survivability for alpha, just run full zerks. Aegis and virtue of resolve are all you need. Fotm 20 is a faceroll, once again go ahead and just go zerks. Reserve knights set for bad groups and 48 dailies with poor pugs.

Idk why but I feel they lack the resources to make new sets of complete armor unless it’s to be put in the cash shop where they can make money off it (or at least NCsoft can). I get the feeling we will see many more shoulder/gloves/helmets to come first.

You don’t need AH in a pve setting once you are experienced, it certainly frees you up to run more party supportive or dps oriented traits once you drop it.

No. It’s not a 1 or 2 min fight with pugs, even with everyone in melee – with a thief, a ranger, and an engine it’s very unlikely you’ll have enough dps. I’m not convinced of it in theory. Just gear check your pugs, make sure they are running power as main stat before entering. You’ll be surprised by the amount of people running crap MF and think they can slip by unnoticed. As long as you can maintain good power damage and reflect up time it should be fine. PVT or zerkers will work. It may not be as quick as with full wars team + guard and mes but I think it would still work.

Maybe someone can shine the light, because I want to go power necro, but end up going hybrid because power necro just dont’ have the aoe power.

I can say for at least in the case of CoE, most of it’s single target. If you’re after at least farming that dungeon, aoe’s no concern :P

Just tried it out to double check. If one Ranger has Vigorous Spirits traited and the other Ranger doesn’t, you get 2 Frost Spirit buffs on your bar. One of the buffs is a 35% chance to inflict 10% bonus damage on hit, the other is a 70% chance to inflict bonus damage on hit. I’ll go into the mists and test it with steady weapons or something and see what the outcome is.

Now that would be interesting :o

Well technically you can just pick one and lvl it. An ele or a war or a guard or whatever. Not hard with crafting, not to mention all the free booster hand outs. Sitting on the same poor class and expecting other people to deal with it because you cant be bothered to make another one isn’t the answer. The real issue, and the one you really should be getting mad at is Arena Net for making the classes the way they are. It really isn’t fair that some classes provide more for a group than others. But that’s what happens when they are too lazy to split pve and pvp skills and sit in denial. Kicking someone for thier class I find isn’t a really valid reason, but at the same time, I have seen enough shortbow auto attack bear pet rangers to understand why.

Datamining shows that in the next patch, we will get to vote for Elen Kiel or Evon Gnashblade for coincil.

Kiel will give us Aetherblade, Evon will give us Molten Facility added to fractals.

Anet has previously said they wont update fractals without also looking at the rewards. =)
