Raids: Ele, Mesmers, Rangers/Druids, everything will mock ur DPS.
High Level fractals: same as above. all that “counter” stuff dont bring anything new, expect being carried cuz the survivability is a jocke too.
WvW: everything shine except warrior. even full zerker scrappers mock at it.
But the last option – “I just want to parade with cool look at Open World Pve”: Not even that, the general consensus is that the looks of the new elite seems like a last-minute thing. Dagger #1 is the same as Thiev with yellow glows. Why get the warrior to look “big bad guy” when you have DeadEye or Reaper?

this is the Jack of all cards build, u can travel with sword+torch//hammer and change weapon with little traits change. Gear Must be VIPER. Runes of berserker. With hammer, u spam Confusion, Bleed, Burn, decent 3k criticals hits, and a insane Break CC Bar monster..

GS underperform is proof that warrior is trashed, this weapon should receive a buff, since, the biggest reason many players take warrior is the classic facetank with a giant weapon.
But if u want go with GS, the less underperform is hibrid condi+power.
Full Viper+Berserker Runes // Strengt+Arms+Berserker.
Atm with this build GS underperforming even the hammer. If u use Hammer instead of GS with this setup, pickup a trait the gives hammer bonuses, u will end with a nice Confusion Spammer.

Full asc vipers, bleed burn traits, precision to expertise trait, and malice sigil will bring you up to 93.40% duration. Using veggie pizzas bumps it to 100.08%, and no need for expensive utilities. Tuning icicles ftw

the 4 HoT maps is by far the best open world maps i have seen in any game. Many of the problems derive more from bad product marketing, all 4 maps needed an official manual, explaining their concept.

When I did the ls2, at time i did not pay much attention to the “lore”, it was practically in the rush mode. It was not hard to see that he was someone important to the Priory order and someone well known. u can think about him as some sort of Michael Jackson lolzzzz.

Spellbreaker is so useless you’re far better off being a double axe core warrior is you want to dual wield for style.

This Single trait, compensates the Berseker Nerf.

In PVE Spellbreaker isn’t just bad, it’s a significant downgrade to core warrior even, not to mention berserker.
In PVP It’s a side-grade at best, maybe a downgrade.
SpellBreaker basically gives free 300 powers, since warrior have tons of CC. just use kicks and bolas. its synergize with physical skills.
tried this playstyle in pvp, works while is a surprise. But an experienced opponent will realize that you are trying to throw all your damage at the beginning and will only be concerned with dodging and waiting for your skills to be on CD. In Pvp, initially you are the king with this style, but when you climb ranks, it becomes harder to run and then gets pOwned.
Since the power warrior is a complete trash now, i give up and made a hibrid, but in a way to dont give up the greatsword, inst the “optimal” build due to give up sword+torch, but is the most near it using GS.
Gear: Full Viper.
Sigils: Malice, Bursting.
Specializations: 1-Strength (2,2,1), 2-Arms (1,2,2), 3-Bersekers (2,1,2).
with this u get near 93% of Burn/Bleed duration without a single rune of condi duration, so for the runes i opted for the Runes of Berseker.
The turn this on the “optimal” build is very simple, just use sword+torch instead of GS, change trait on Arms to give the sword bonuses, and berserker to the one give torch bonuses, and u can drop Strenght traitline for anything u fell better.
What I have doubts is the rune of berserk is really the best in this case? I’m open to suggestions for tests.
Ofc, this is not a build for PVP/WvW usage, unless u like play glass cannon.

Ugh condi this condi that. Sick of having to be condi on every kitten class almost. The only ascended set I have is heavy power and it’s useless on warrior and rev, 2/3 of the classes that can wear it. I can’t afford to craft another set or convert sets all the time. Even if I could, I don’t want to. I’m a warrior, I want to swing my greatsword and do respectable damage, instead I have to apply DoTs like every other freaking class. So frustrating.

If I have something that baffles me, it’s requests that I see here and there to turn a warrior into a clone of the engineer (press buttons race) or thiev / Mesm (jumping/hide/hit and run ballerina).
Even the “counter” thing is an escape from the warrior concept, in most games the counter-attack specialist is the guardian, not the warrior. Apparently the current guardian full of retallation buffs seem had this purpose originally.
full viper is glass cannon. medium power dps, high condi. near perma burn stacks.
in open world u have to kill before being killed.
when i have time i will make a video of how i roam in open world areas with more dangerous mobs like some HoT Zones.
I’m afraid I can’t really speak to that as well as I can with WvW (roam) and what not. Warriors were better with condi in raids and fractals anyway right? At least that was my impression looking at the meta before the last patch.
I hope their idea is to spread the balance throughout all cores not just warrior. So that meta pretty much shifts to ok run whatever class, but this is the (elite) spec you need to run for it.
Though that just comes down to roles in raids and end content (assuming it’s difficult and requires co-op). These roles are pretty much defined by the users a part and the rest by design. In the end most of the metas run variations of the trinity anyway. Tank/Support(heal)/DPS. Which is ironic since ANet’s dream in the beginning. ‘Rid the world from the tyranny trinity!’ unfortunately they’ve realized this is harder than just ‘everyone fight for yourself’, and then continuously adds content that requires cooperation that more or less requires more than everyone heal yourself and do mediocre damage. So at least in the PvE realm we’re seeing them kind of roll back into the trinity since the content is basically designed for it. Annnnd this is causing issues everywhere else. lol
Without killing the meta mentality, its a dream, any “balance” is jut killing old meta for new ones, in other words: still 0 diversity. With the bonus of annoying the players.
We end up with thousands of options that only serve in open world.
People right here, are saying that now has “more options”, but try a raid with power warrior, will be ironized / rage by condi range, condition warriors, elementals, practically everything. Ppl will mock and jocke also Power warriors on WvW/Pve too.
it’s obv they just want everyone to be using viper’s stat, more expansion sales.
I have nothing against them selling their stuff, but I just do not find it funny to be a condi spammer.

Woulbe amazing use Greatsword/Melee on PVP, Pve and WvW. A viable melee warrior is what’s missing in this game.
I do not care that they creates specialization that turns the warrior into a flying butterfly that shoots rainbow rays. since at least they make the basic warrior viable.

The reasons are the same as always, someone at some point moaned about Warrior in PvP, Raiding or WvW.
As a mainly PVE player these days, partly due to a lack of PvP I actually enjoy for a long time now, it’s the usual case of having to suffer because of whine and balance.
Or, the guy who does the balance patches fell out with the guy who created warriors so he decided to teach him a lesson.
And theres already a cry to nerf SpellBreaker.
Anet should put on his Ads when he sells this game: “we have only elementalists, mesmers, the other classes are only weak imitations of these, dont be fooled”.
For it’s level of mobility, sustain, and mitigation, it still needs more damage output reduction.
no one kill another with “mobility”. They should increase tankness and damage, and remove “mobility” garbage if they want.

With the new slew of Elite Specs coming out, people are worried that ANet is just power creeping the new specs, and nerfing the older specs is part of some devious plan to incentivize the newer ones.
While a tiny portion of this fear is legitimate, there’s a more realistic expectation: You see, GW2 was never supposed to be about elite specs being a straight upgrade, but rather a different option for your character to have in a given situation. Berserker, for example, provides lots of stun breaks, decent CC, and some condi-damage support previously lacking on Warrior. Until now, with the way the class worked, Berserker was a 100% upgrade over base Warrior. Now, on the other hand, that is being changed, and you see this across the board: Elementalist’s Tempest elite spec is being driven more towards its support theme, Reaper is being steered away from condi-damage because it was always supposed to be a tanky, melee-oriented power elite, etc.
Basically, what’s happening is that elite specs are being turned into OPTIONS for characters, rather than straight upgrades. Even Spellbreaker is limited to TWO adrenaline bars, which means it STILL won’t have the sustain of three bar bursts. It’s a good direction for the game to take, even if it has immediate consequences that are difficult to predict.
Coincidentally, they just remembered that when have a new expansion just 1 month to come out?

Not even the pvp I liked, I never played warrior to be a thumping monkey “hit and run” like thievs. The playstyle is kinda ridiculous and it’s just one that i shouldnt expect friom the warrior. The mace / shield warrior is just a precarious arrangement that the players themselves invented to compensate for the main concept of the warrior that was destroyed.
When I leave, I will still tell anyone who wants to play Guild Wars 2: do not be fooled by old warriors videos with Greatsword, warriors in this game have a different concept from the other games and expect you to play as thiev, “hit and run and hiding” , So do not waste time creating warriors, create a Thiev or Mesmer.
Deadeye obviously. Not exactly making them for group support.
I expect spellbreakers/warriors will be nerfed sooner or later, as they always do, so not even worried about them being top roamer.

I hate it, actually. It’s nice that there’s some lore built up around it, but this is wrong to the point of being nonsensical. Engineer as a profession originated from the charr, and the other “techie” civilization is the asura, especially when it comes to holo-technology. With Joko and the desert being the way it is, the Elonians have had very little contact with the charr or the asura, and so creating a revolutionary Engineer technology out of Elona makes no sense. Having technological innovation come from other civilizations is okay, but there is no basis for it being done this way. Use of the Zephyrites crystals is one thing, and Elona does have a history of kinship with the Sun, but mixing that kind of magic with technology is not something that could believably come solely out of the desert and from humans, like NPCs seem to suggest. In fact, it’s the last of the elite specs that should have a desert origin. Perhaps, maybe, it would be acceptable if an asura and/or charr developed the proto-tech that allowed the Photon Forge to be possible, but otherwise it’s just glaringly bad. And bad lore is no better (and maybe worse) than none at all.
If writers find this a “plot fail” it would not be difficult to fill this with some history about nomad merchants acquiring things on the “black market.” It’s the kind of typical history that fits desert societies.

when u have meta and non-meta, u will notice a BIG diference on survival time in big fights(10×10 or more).
try the guard, condi-cleanser spam, dire stats gear + runes of trooper and see diference by yourself.
many wvw dedicated guild, have also, builds spreasheet, ask for link to some when u have oportunity.
It’s not just thieves, most classes are very concerned about spell breakers at the moment and they will be able to chase and kill most classes depending on weapons used. Ironically deadeye has the least to fear as they have the mobility and stealth to escape coupled with less boons than other classes for the spell breaker to exploit.
And remenber the insane base HP warriors have. With dire stats + runes of tropper, i can easily reach 32k hp.
I’ve been WvWing since day one, when SBI was a rank 1 server with allies like War Machine and mechanics like The Orb of Power were awesome.
Gliding has potential to be great, just like the Orb of Power but so many people cried about that on the forums they were removed (mostly because of hackers).
Gliding needs some tweaks, but it has the potential to be great.
This game mode needs more content and anytime they add something instead of the community adapting we lement the old days and cry about how things aren’t fun.
We will probably never get a new WvW map based of the backlash received from the previous two, so remember that our complaining does have an impact on new content.
I personally hope gliding stays but we see some tweaks.
and same time, they complain that “game mode is dead”, “servers are empty”.
Deadeye looks seriously OP. it’s like a ranger on steroids with added stealth. One shot, 15 stacks of vulnerability, aoe shot on zero cooldown, piercing for free.
If it comes out like this, I expect to see half the players in wvw playing deadeye, and pin sniping will become so common that comms will tag off. Three Deadeyes in a focus group will be able to insta down targets for fun.
I’d better dust off my thief, rifle shortbow ranged stealthed thief is having a laugh.

Necro pin snipping with conditions spam already exists.
This topic is meaningless, outside the squad you get more xp and loot, there is a reduction of XP when you kill in a group. The real “exploit” is to follow a zerg and not get into the squad, using a tankier build. I do not do this straightforwardly for the sake of honesty, but in practice, commanders who do not put you in the squad are doing you a good if all u want is exp/loot.
The only problem I see from the “exclusive squad” concept is that they ruin the server at long term, by pushing away the pugs and rookies. These squads also hardly make raid more than 2 hours.
The pugmanders are the ones who actually raise the servers and are the gateway to new players. It is also usually those who spend more than 4 hours commanding.

Lmao dude, Someone flies from their own keep cuz theyre losing Keep(Otherwise they did not have to run), and that’s a big problem? Zerg took Keep, some escaped, and this is ruining entire WvW?
That smells like Roamer / Dueler.
From a strategic point of view, I do not see the big advantage in flying to OgreWatch if losing a battle for the Keep, since it’s more faster to return from the WP spawn to defend the Keep than run around OW.
Probably the ones who are angry about this are those who camp next to ones of SMC sentrys, entire day seeking for duels, then in one of these “important” duels, someone flew to the tower, and because of this, they can not shout to the world how theyre the “big smart guys that wins 1×1 on wvw”.

Didnt notice any “big thing” about glide, just more fast to get the route keep → tower, and even isnt so fast as its seems.
I didnt see yet “the great escape”, or “great retreat”, didnt see yet not even a big defense which had glider as game changer.
So I classify glider as mere cosmetic, harmless, let it stay.
Probably these complaining against are roamers and their “duels”.
- I’d say 99% of the “condition” problem threads that crop up are coming from a position of roaming, 1v1 up to small group fights. This is a WvW forum, WvW is large scale. It’s not small scale focused. If you run around in WvW and get lit up by a necro hitting you with 40 bleed stacks.. a necro that is built that way is completely useless in a large scale fight.
Agreed. probably roamers is the sames ones who complains against gliders.
WvW is no place for duel in disguise, sPvp is.
Condition is a good counter to “hit and stealth”.
Regarding 2, since that’s easier, that is the implication intended to be given. There’s a lot of sexual attraction implication jokes made throughout that story instance, from Canach’s reaction to Caudecus saying Valette would “never betray daddy” to the White Mantle Mesmer with a Lord Faren illusion.

One of them was how balthazar was paying the mercenaries? This one I discovered just a few minutes ago, when in a dialogue with an NPC Heart Vendor at Heathen’s Hold, shes said “Lazarus” aka Balthazar stolen the White Mantle treasures.
There are still two points that are not clear to me.
1. When exactly did Balthazar succeed in disguising himself as Lazarus?
2. I do not quite understand that scene of the commander when he sees Logan’s picture in Caudecus’s house … Their astonishment, cuz of the painting implies that Caudecus had sexual attraction or admiration for Logan?

Elona is technically not a continent. It’s a nation.
In GW1, it was mechanically a continent, which has led to much confusion among players who began to view it as a continent rather than a nation, but in lore it has always been just a nation. In GW1’s time, the nation only consisted of its three provinces: Istan, Kourna, and Vabbi. In the past, certain groups attempted to spread it north into the Crystal Desert (specifically the Primeval Kings and Turai Ossa, the later creating the colony Elonia in the desert) but they failed. Joko has done so again, and succeeded.
So during GW1’s time, the Crystal Desert and its sub-region, the Desolation, were not part of Elona. But in GW2’s time it is.
When most folks talk about continental Tyria – like in the outdated wiki ugrakarma quoted – they’re actually referring to “Central Tyria” – continental Tyria is much, much, much bigger and includes Elona. As one can see here.

i think the same mess will happen with the mechanical regions of Gw2, all new ls3 maps, are grouped in the “heart of magumma”. the devs should look at this.

I hate adventures at all, so I vote No to any additional adventures. I would like content that has to do with the world and the story. Not minigames.

By observing what happens in the raids, the more mechanics and tricks its, the more group hate has. If you miss your “little friends” will point the finger at you and /kick.
Zhaitan never raided the holy reliquaries, which are in Siren’s Landing. They remain closed and destroyed even now. We also don’t know which – if any – of the “holy items” are actually with divine magic and not just holy due to their association rather than origin.
In the side quest, Rose makes an interesting questioning, firstly how such monuments were intact after re-emergence of a entire continent from sea? … even more interesting, is that the developers put this in evidence.
Day 5: I traveled farther inland. The architecture here is far more grandiose. It’s truly a sight to behold. I’m amazed that the rise of Orr didn’t completely reduce these monuments to rubble

Nerfing PVE builds is utterly, and absolutely pointless. All this does is increase the build diversity rift between condition and power that already exists for no good reason right now. This is a huge change that not only screws over raids and meta, it screws over regular mob play in an open world. It only reinforces more micromanging play instead of using and managing skills tactically in order to become optimal and efficient. It’s already acknowledged that power warriors/zerkers were already nerfed to some extent but now this has become even more ludicrous.
If this is done to keep spellbreaker in line, then it’s nothing more than some of the worst game design philosophy ever. Not only is this change completely out of hand for reducing power builds even further, the principle of nerfing for upcoming content just to create a niche for it is negative reinforcement. Taking away something to just to give something back to replace it isn’t the same as what it was before. It stings and it sucks.
All this does is limit build diversity and overall enjoyability of the game.
That said, what Mikeskies said would be a proper way to balance out the nerf. That at least promotes sustained and gameplay and ramping up damage over time instead of this being a chasing the tail end of a timer.

In a game that theres a “meta” its not create diversity, but just trash other options in favor of the “new meta”.
I still do not have that much of a problem with it, the worst of it is to force playroles, the last thing I want with the warrior is be support or healer or a trick “conditionmancer”, or a “jumping ninja”, for this I have made a guardian and a druid, also have a necro, i have a thiev too.
I’m not against diversity since there’s no meta, which is not the case with guild wars 2.

Hi.
All professions have been nerfed. Rangers cry for the lack of stability. Necros cry for the nerf on Vital persistance, and so on. Everyone is crying, but if everything is nerfed, then there is no place for your complaints.
I like the change as the berserker spec was a nobrain one. No, seriously, you fill this bar at that speed and you get the same advantages as a full 3 adrenaline bar in normal mode ???? sPvP warrior was spamming berserker mode, getting tons of buffs and then spamming f1.
For what I read for the moment, new spec are not broken ones as it was for HoT. And whatever, we still don’t know what they are made of. At least, the new spec propose a skillful gameplay based on reaction, interruption and boonstrip. That is far more interesting than pressing f1 repeatedly.
Not everyone like the jumping monkey playstyle aka thievs, or press buttons races.
If the purpose of this game is to turn all classes into thievs bouncy and dodges race I was cheated.
