I have said already. Another DH meta. This is not a balance problem. This is a design problem. They are not make any main modify for DH since S1.
If a AOE skill – no spell time, huge damage , short CD, area sustained, Invisible, big region. This is a irresponsible design and will get suck surly.
DH have three skill like this and 2 or 3 stack together per team. So new players don’t have any chance in this game and they are also implicate other exp players.
Target ele.
Put CC on him > put damage on him than they are over.
ele+nec. no block less inv less move skill. This is a FREE KILL combination.
you can literally evade/block/LOS most of their skills and they place these instant cast traps and boom ~90% hp gone.
It’s actually quite easy to instagib someone on DH or +1, but you don’t see that happen as often as could be because even at legend in s1-s4 it was quite obvious that most DH are horrible.
For instance how often do you see a DH use traps to prevent a res? Rarely, if ever…
I guess i’m that 1% of the DH population who can do what’s deemed uncommon to you. I beg the question though… what trap in the game that causes 90% health gone? I mean, you’d have to get hit with literally 4 traps+additional dps for that scenario to happen.
Had a full trap DH insta die to 2 guys on point today. I had the time to type, “lol, full trap dh?” Before I fought the 2 guys and won the 1v2 fight.
People complain about full trap DH… Literally every single class in the game can counter it.. I just can’t fathom how people are having issues.
No single trap is taking 90% of my hp. But if you are using traps one at a time instead of layering the effect of at least 2+ you are just randomly throwing out damage (literally – random trap placement – random damage) … Procession of blades, test of faith, and dragon’s maw can easily end up being way over 100% of my hp(muliple times over actually) if I take full damage
DH can place traps on a point and leave the point and the traps alone can down rev or thief. It happens all the time and has happened to me multiple times which was how I originally came to the conclusion that the traps are too potent, and then later realized that DHs generally do not land many of their actual attacks.
TBH, it’s actually pretty rare that I even get hit by a DH (unless they are playing trapper runes and continuously getting an opener from stealth). Generally the traps do everything for you. I play rev btw. s1-s4 legend. I’d say more than 90% of DH 1v1s if it were not for traps DH might land maybe 2-3 attacks besides the auto (if that) and the pull+follow up attack. The traps do all the work no debating.
When I play DH for lols I get instant kills if I play it in a manner similar to how I play rev.

yeah i dont think the traps are the problem here or the dmg.
when you play good you can ignore the traps, but i have to agree that the pull is too good how it is now.
Pull should have a better animation (like pin down) so if you can dodge the pull/chain you can win pretty decent against DH.
(lets not forget that DH doesnt even had a pull, so giving it a bigger animation shouldnt be a problem)
yeah i don’t think too. but the teammate is the problem. do you see your teammate down down down man down….. . OMG do you control or choose your teammate? OMG Trap IS nOOb killer! omG! Do you know how many player will learn how to fight a DH with other class? Why don’t join them? OMG! I think the traps and the dmg are the problem now.
But nothing modify the main point. I think you better tell your team play PVP one hour per day for data collection. How to make a good game? Not Viewer. Not Developer. Come to be a Player. Play your game and improve it. This is necessary.
REV – you get the point.
DH – nothing will change. The problem from the region of tarp , CD , spell time and your game mode. This is not a trap. This is a land mine without damage himself.
ELE – nothing will change. boring heal bot. No survive No output. They are like NEC. The first target without that block block block 12345 system.
THIEF – nothing will change. When the range of steal change to 1200 and dagger 3 still here. Sword thief was gone.
MES – nothing will change. The problem come from their one key cool down buttom make them have double skill. You can not do that do not think others can not. Look at your REV after your n*nerf but they still the top one.
ENG – Who want to choose a gun in that block block block 12345 combat system!? Do they want to die? Do they can make enough damage or kill someone on those invincible monster before their die?
But anyway, this is a good begin.

Necros are weak when alone, i dont think nerf damage output would be good.
The real issue is the damage output of other classes mixtured with with stacked necros.
ReV hammer Stacked spammers, DH Ji trappers stacked, and a few others, Anet increased the aoe/cleave spam on this game, while they should reduce it and make some aoe classes unique.
Dont change necro, changes all the other classes cleave/aoe spam… to just a few skills.
Even my heavy modded skyrim is way more balanced than this game. XD
Anet needs to design classes in pvp in mind and then adapt them do pve, the aoe/cleave spam in this game makes it horrible to watch, reason why pvp isnt that much observed, people get disgusted with all the splash damage.
+1 modded skyrim is more balance than this ? kitten? game.The balance of this game is the worst I have never seen. I try staff thief today and make 9 times jumping , jump in , jump out, just pass two keys dodge and staff 5. This is brainless just spam two keys and don’t have any danger. I don’t know how do they can make a game like that.
If they want PVP to measure up the e-sport. The frequency of balance is not fine.
We all know the problem of PVP are class balance and combat system from HoT(that brainless block, block, block, inv, evade 12345) . New player cannot survive in this environment. No player base, No game, No income. This is a TURE and they need to face that. Today, MMORPG are all go to end game. PVP is other way to go out.

BUT IF YOU HAVE sustain+damage+movement . THAT IS TOTALLY kitten! THE GAME WILL BE kittenING SUCK LIKE NOW.
S4 = S5 DH stack together meta = Kill low MMR like a God and Die like a kitten in High MMR again. Every match have 3-4 DH > No one will happy > Can’t defeat them > Join them together > More DH…. S4 is the worst season. What are they learn from S4 !?
Some people think they can good to fight with DH. You know? I know. but Sorry , you in this DH stack together meta you need at less 4 ppls they all know how to fight. Not just you. Do you think this is possible under this kittening MMR system!?
Redesign DH is a way to go out. A game should not make for that 10% high level player and give other 90% player to make 10% player lose a match.

This is a problem in S4. Also will happen in S5. The balance patch can’t easy to fix it. It also like condition stacking and boon spam problem. They came from design, not balance. This a irresponsible design and a fail teaching material for game designer.

In Hot, I don’t care what are enemy doing. I just see my skill cool down and pass the keys by step. This is all about HoT. This is not a fighting. Give us back oldest PVP.

This brainless system also open the gap from Top MMR and Low MMR.

I agree that beginners will be out skilled by veterans, but that is to be expected in any game, sport or anything competitive.
On a side note they are playing the same game(same stat selection, same classes options, same set of rules and so on) the only thing that is different is the ability/skill to excel at the “brainless system”. Ooh i know, not only do they lack a brain to understand this “brainless system”, but they also hitting keys with their face! (Sorry, not the finest joke.)
The point is that novice will always be out skilled by a vet there is no need to change a game.
In other games, they can at least assist the attack or can do a little damage, but in this game, they are burdened and is the enemy’s resurrection machine. Brainless system just for people who can do the rotation. But for new player? sorry, come and do a punch bag. How to keep the player base? how grow up the player base?

PVP before HoT is fine. But after HoT, this just a suck game like WoW.
REV also no need any keyboard movement skill. Just following skill rotation. pass a key transport to target make off and def damage and pass a key leave the target than do rotation to defense. Their movement ALL are Invincible OR break CC. That’s why ppls no any chance to make enough damage/kill a good(LOL) rev.

The main problem is off and def in same time with great movement. You can see the same problem in staff/condi thief and dh. Do crazy damage and don’t have any danger. Great movement make condi is not the problem of rev because he can easy get out of attack region and back to target again.

REV? FRee KILL? 0-100? a Class with no brain evade , block , movment , crazy dps, double healing with inv …. !? you should try to play solo NEC.
Even if give you 50000+ HP when begin you still dead like a Target Golem.
The problem of NEC is not about how many HP do you have. In HoT CC , Sustain , Cleaning … everything are out of control but NEC still use the old system.
Even if S2 S3 Nec Crazy season , Nec was also very easy to kill in high level.

Sorry to say revenant can not teleport every 5 seconds, needs energy and this ability uses a lot (I’m main revenant and I can say that after teleport need to change legend for not staying power to use) the thief does not spend energy to teleport and can use all his energy to attack and make another teleporting followed (in addition to the CC, stealth and crazy damage thief), you can not compare this
energy? revenant no need to teleport every 5 seconds. But he want to teleport. skill always get ready and he can teleport every 5 seconds when he want. this is not about energy. we are talking about choice and cool down.
Anet forget player can use a off skill to go def and movement in high level team fight.
Don’t forget this is a teleport. Through the wall and terrain. Like hack skill.

I think Anet may be employ some graphics designer to do skill/class balance and design. You can see many skill logic problems from HoT.

blocks and invulnerabilities (sometimes passive effects !) are way too numerous. How is it even possible that a warrior (yeah, you again, sorry) can block more than 50% of the time,

PVE is easy to balance. They are Brain dead(Anet).
When you go in a Raid then you will have some buff like +20%HP +20%ATT +10%DEF when you have HoT Elite……
So don’t put the Power Creep in PvP.

Actually DH is a worst design in this Hold Point Game. AoE cc, AoE damage and stack share block and heal. It break the low MMR and get easy kill in top MMR. This class better need to remake.

DH’s have bad mobility. they are very slow, and need a Rev or something to put swiftness on them to get around or a team with out 3 DH’s can just out rotate the team stacked with DH’s. people need to remember this game is a take and Hold game. if a team is too slow to react to the rotation of points, then it’s game over.
Having 3-4 guards camping middle and the other team just running in to die, has nothing to do with a DH being OP, it has to do with the players understanding of how PvP works. people seem to think that you haver to have the middle point to win a game. I’ve won plenty where middle was never held, we just rotated middle and far the other team spent most of there time trying to retake there home. instead of sending someone off to de-cap far then move to middle they just pilled in to middle or there home. also people not looking at the mini map to see where they are needed.
There are two things that make a PvP game hard, skill(someone is always going to be better than you, we all have to face it.) and the lack on knowledge/understanding of how the game modes/classes work.
DH’s have GOOD/CRAZY mobility. If you know how to use sword 2. lock target →leave target →sword 2 back.
Better suggestion: nerf all the powercreep introduced with HoT.

What are you talking about? I love raiding even tho I pretty much only enjoy pvp. Anet has the ability to split PvE and PvP, so getting PvE involved in this shouldn’t even be a thing.
What he meant with get pve out of pvp is that Lord is Ai powered entity within the game which is infinitely more stupid and has no proper mind to defend himself. That is why pretty much only numbers matter for ai entities in PvP and thus should be removed. (as ai with op stats will never be as good as a player)
