Time that could be spent on making new fractals and such. Any time I spend fixing dungeon bugs is completely voluntary, and is probably going to be done on weekends.

Idk this has been asked alot but why isnt making new dungeons with the existing more refined tools an option? Dugeons fill a niche that fractals cant really capture and they can have a place. I can understand old dungeons being a pain but new ones shouldn’t be harder to make than fractals no?

Since wvw and pvp updates arent tied to wvw where does that leave a window to introduce new gamemodes into pvp? With the addition of 2v2 u guys said u would not support it. Does that mean we should expec the rest of gw2’s days to be spend in conquest?

The drop rates are pretty dang high for ascended gear, but RNG is by definition, random. It has nothing to do with the efficiency of the algorithm, and our algorithm has a good distribution anyways.
The better question is why is viper/HoT stats accessories still not available through fractals, especially when you’ve made balance changes that have kicked power builds out of relevance?

Im basically asking something like what is happening with druid and healing power. The healing output of that class is great with lots of heling power but without it the healing is poor.
I was wondering if something like that could happen with axe. That way u wont have condi mirages do crazy power dmg. And the condi dmg on power mirages isnt anything mental (its decent but not too crazy).
U could have hybrid mirages (since we know hybrid stats are comming) Being the midle ground. Its just that axe is so fun but i cant enjoy condi mesmer for my life.
That would prb mean that axe 2 wouldnt get a blur effect (or get a small one at most) since i think axe should be its own thing and not a flat out better sword (if the devs every give it better power scaling).

Yup, that is what we hoped. We don’t need mirage to be an upgrade over chrono. But we want it to provide a bit different playstyle.
However, what we get is that all the key mechanics are too clunky to use. The most powerful trait on the spec(elusive mind) is kinda OP and boring.
The really exciting stuff(ambush, clone ambush, mirage mirror) all suck and can’t be relied upon.
If you check all the videos show casing mirage, they play exactly like traditional shatter mesmer. And we all know chrono already brought mesmer shatter to its pinnacle. Mirage can’t do better in that department.
Very very disappointing.
The ambushes arent bad nothing is bad really. Its just nowhere near as good as chrono. Well the mobility f mirage is better and id argue the dmg is there as well but eh.
I watched ppl playing mirage that didnt remind me of base mesmer and i had my fair share of base mesmer while getting into the game and whatching montages.
A new mantra would be neat. But in fractals/raids the only part where illusions matter are the boss fights. In open world pve you dont even need to summon just bust out the gs and burst everything.
Axe does also decent power dmg. Nowhere near great tmg but with better scaling it could be a neat weapon.
Gives us pseudo legendary gear next time.
I also asked for a port back to the shard location. I feel like this would be a great change. And maybe buffing the heal or the condi cleanse abit more.
I was thinking a good way to increase the mirror generation and gove them more value would be to change the “self deception” and “shards of glass” traits.
The way i went about it was:
Self deception: when you shatter 2 or more illusions spawn a mirror (x sec idc)
Shards of glass: consuming a mirror spawns a clone (x icd)
Imo this would increase the mirror output making them a more reliable tool and it would give mirrors more value since they help with out cline generation.

Fractal legendary armor (doesn’t need to be a fancy skin – can just be stat swapping like the PVP / WvW ones) for PVE players who don’t want to raid. It can be STUPID expensive, but at least give players a way of getting it that does not involve them playing content they are not interested in (again – as they have provided for WvW and PVP players).
The biggest concern with fractal legendary, even if it has no unique skin, is that raids is the source for PvE legendary armor, and we don’t want to diminish that.
Then a unique skin for fractal ascented armor? Everyother part of the game has its own armor why not fractalz? Even if its asc only, judging by the fractal weapons/ backpiece design it could turn out to be amazing.
Nvm i didnt see the “delete charrs” comment. Eh w/e delete them. :p
(But seriously fractal asc armor would be a fantastic reason to play fractals and get mor eplay time out of them for veterans).

All the teleports we get compared to shadow step or steal are jokes.
We do get interesting dodges. But how can they be even compared to dash.
Im speaking about power mirage coupled with jaunt and blink. The mobility is actually insane.
Sword ambush is a great skill. It might bot be as high in power as backstab but it rovides some nice utility.

Idk ppl expected mirage to be anather chrono and this clearly is a dd. Maybe treating it as such and stop qqing that it doesnt provide group utility and support.
Mirrors would be great if they also functioned as mini portals, helping with deception and movement. Imagine you can lay down two mirrors maximum and you can port from one to another in a shorter time span than portal, although maybe it would be very difficult to implement.
Being more realistic, they could also give superspeed on dodge as a baseline effect of Mirror Cloak, use that spot to have Infinite Horizon baseline too and make a new grandmaster that would extend your mirrors duration AND make them shatter with our F skills (even making your clones not to be shatered). That way they could tone down ambush skills on clones and make it not “mandatory” as it feels now.
Mirage doesn’t offer much when it comes to shatter builds and these should dramatically change to support Mirage’s playstyle.
I dont think mirage really needs any more mobility. Buffing the range on jaunt should be more than enough.
What if mirrors had a similar function to gangplanks barrels in LoL? Set up mirrors in an area during a fight and then use a shatter to detonate all of them with specific effects.
That could be cool. Another good idea is increase the numbers of mirros that we can spawn. We got thw mobility to move around and get them more of them would give us alot more chamces for ambushattacks and defensiveness. Also add a small alacrity boost to them (maybe 2 to 3 sec) and you have a great mechanic.
The only flaw i see with mirrors working like barrels is that they are stationary if someone wants to avoid them he simply does so.
Guard traps and fractals in specific. If the target is floating its like the skill doesnt go off and in some encounters u dont much say to get the boss to bot float.
Axe auto chain – The first 2 skills (lacerating chop and ethereal chop) need to be 1/4 sec cast times. This would result in completing the entire chain 33% quicker, increasing the condition application and increasing power damage by ~33% naturally. Range on entire chain could be increased a bit as well.
- Lingering Thoughts – Its buggy. Clone could stand to be summoned as long as you are in combat when you use it (ie no longer tying it to your enemy being too close to the mirage), and a short evade frame would be nice for sure
*Axes of Symmetry – Again, its buggy with the teleporting. Fix that first. A guaranteed 5 stacks of confusion, up to 8, on your target on a 10 seconds CD is fairly decent for a weapon skill. So I think it would be good as long as its bugs were fixed.
- Imaginary Axes – Remove the delay on the axes. Increase power damage
- Mirage Thrust – Reduce to 1/2 sec cast, as it is now its pretty clunky to use. Increase power damage.
- Ether Barrage – Reduce cast to 1 second and remove root, or reduce cast to 3/4 sec (so that at least your cloak will cover the entire root). Don’t halve the duration for clones.
- Split Surge – Reduce cast to 1/2 second. Triple power damage for yourself. Increase to 5 targets.
- Chaos Vortex – Reduce cast to 1/2 second. Increase target limit to 10 ideally.
- Ambush Assault – …………………….. Just remove it, you clearly didn’t want this skill to be used in the first place.
- Wave of Panic – UW combat, I didn’t test it.
Is the sword ambush slower than a warrior’s thrust?
Phantasms will generally still do better dmg compaired to clones tho at least power wise.
In all of my testing this weekend, traited Pistol Phantasms were out DPSing axe clones. This was WAY closer than it is for scepter clones, but it was still better to use the phantasms.
That speaks to the severe lack of synergy between Mirage and the rest of the class. Mirage is all about ambushes, but you get better dps from not using them…
Phantasms are the actual damaging illusion tool. I don’t think that mirage should totally invalidate those.
What axe clones are really good for is rapidly ramping up damage which is one of the Achilles heels of core mesmer.
Before you both jump the ship. Dont forget pve wise at least torment and confusion where changed to deal bleed base dmg.
Id also want to see the mirros not spawn on kittened spots. Iirc one utility makes you dodge backwards and spawns the mirror on your previous location. 11/10 logic right there.
I didnt really like the condi mirage but i enjoyed power mirage. I dont really get how it plays exactly like base mesmer tho. I too think that the class needs some polishing but i see big potential in it.

There hasnt really been any chance to test stuff in ove to tell. It easy to say the class is weak/strong but what we see now might be split from pve.

I kind of agree with that idea, although I’m open to having a damage spec.
I’m a GW1 Mesmer main and the builds I played were very much support based through Interrupts/energy denial and that’s how I view the Mesmer. They deal damage but that’s a secondary effect – the crowd control and utility are the primary.
Ok these were the builds you played where they the only builds mesmer had?
Or you can turn around while dodging and run. Even use sword ambush as well or scepter ambush is a small phase retreat the turn around and reposition.
A bandaid fix for an issue that shouldn’t exist in the first place.
I can do lots of things, one of them should not be have to work against my class mechanic.
Its an issue that your make a big deal out of. You can turn around walk on the green on deimos and on your way dodge….. It makes sense what so bad about it?
Sword: Amazing, simply the best one for WvW. Didn’t notice the bug with interrupt but wasn’t playing with it with those traits.
GS: Doesn’t always seem to fire correctly, or visuals are off. Didn’t check combat logs to see if it was bugged or was just visual problems.
Staff: Doesn’t do enough power damage
Axe: Seemed OK but didn’t play with it enough.
Scepter: Both condi and power damage were good
From what little time i had sword and staff ambush attacls have around the same power dmg ranging around 1.7k

Evasion makes the Ambush decent, especially regarding melee-range clones. The interrupt thing is just how it should be… why else would we want Dazes if not for the interrupts? I don’t understand how it’d make it OP, since that just brings it to the lowest bar of potential viability.
Its a finisher it does decent dmg it dazes. Its already a really solid skill. Im just saying on top of making all the cl9nes proc the traits that makimg it an evade could be too much.

We already have that its called minstrel chrono.
My idea power spec the main mechanic is that you get a stacking buff of increased effectiveness on your f skills for every illusion you shatter for x seconds. Max illusions raised to 4. All the shatters replaced by 4 ew skills.
1 skill is the shatter on a low cd.
2nd one depends on your mainhand
3rd one is a combo between mainhand and offhand
4rth is for the offhand
(2handed weapons get 3 skills about the 2handed)
All get added functionalities or numeric values the more stacks of the buff you got.
Weapon spear: specialises on summoning illusions and cc. Has really strong dmg with well telegraphed skills.
Infinite horizon shouldn’t be baseline. It would be counter productive for skills like confounding suggestions.
But anyways here’s my list of changes that I thought would be good for mirage.

Giving phantrams an ambusha ttacks could likely kitten up their own already existing skills. I think just goving them the evade cloak would be good.
Even better on top of it giving the cloak make it so the phantasm skills tuen into a diff skill during cloak that we can use. For that increase the time we are allowed to use all the ambush skills as fay suggested in a diff thread.

I dont think it needs power trait. I think it needs power ambush skills to be better. Atm gs ambush is complete horseshit and its condi which doesnt make any sense. Sword ambush is on point tho (id like the cline interupt to proc thraits as well doe).

Yo after having some limited time on mirage ( sonce my laptop died after the first day of the demo). And allot of discussion with friends and mesmer players in general id say mirage is in a wierd spot.
Im by no means an amazing mesmer player id say im average or a little above that at best but, i believe the mirage needs more of polishing certain mechanics thanstraight up buffs.
The only buffs id say it really needs is to make (imo) the gm trait that guves mirage cloak on illusions baseline.
I also believe phantams sould get some attention as well (give them as well mirage cloak and their own ambush skills). Im sceptical about this because it could turn out to be too much because of already how strong mirage is in some ways.
On the other hand the devs made 30+ skills for weaver and soulbeast so 7 more ( gs phantams, sword oh, torch, pistol, focus, spear and trident) is really not that much trouble.
Another thing that i find wierd is that the ambush skills for power weapons like gs are condi based. This is just wierd for me and i believe the skills should be power through and through.
The sword ambush for me is amazing. I love the movility and the daze ( id love it to deal more dmg but idk if that would be balanced). But the daze-interupt atm doesnt proc stun daze interupt traits afaik. Is this intented or a bug?
The mirrors are a really cool mechanics but the randomness of where they spawn makes them looks worse than they really are. Ppl have said that the class doesnt bring group support and utility and thats true but its not somerthing bad because theres no reason for mirage to be a support spec in any way. ( it can have the freedom of being more egocentric at least in my eyes)
A good support gm tho could be inplace of the horizon trait. With a icd (of 8 sec~) allies can use your mirrors for the blur effect. Only 1 ally can use the mirror and it wont take the mirror from the mesmer.
Future mirrors could have a curcle on their ground target indicating that it cant be used by an ally for x amount of seconds.
Thats could btw be a little too strong so idk.
The axe i think needs a buff. Axe 2 imo is too slow moving and easily interupted. It could be spead up or have an evade componment added. ( with an increased recharge cd to balance it out)
Axe 3 is just wierd on how it lands sometimes but ihave faith that will get abjusted.
All in all id love it the axe scaled well with power as well id like to see it have play in power builds.
As i said i only had a time span of (2~ 2 and a half hours so my judgement could be poor.
EDIT: Looking back at it i feel i come mostly negative and i want to further talk about the positive aspecs of this spec.
The mobility it provides at least to me feels insane. All the skills have a repositio ing compnment which makes it feel like i playing shiro rev or a thief. I really love this change in playstyle.
With this mobility comes alot of utility youc an run around a battlefield much faster secure kills much easier mebause the elite works like blink and confuse/ frustrate players with your supperior repositioning.
The dodge its also great. Amazing utility and the ambush skills provide me with abit more mobility and interupt potential ( power sword mirage ).
The ability to dodge while ressing, preparing mantras, casting long channel spells, stomping, etc to me is insane and makes the class feels colpletely doff than it was before.
It deff has a bigger skillcap due to being so diff from what i played during prehot times and chrono. Which i feel plays a big roles as to why ppl give it all this kitten.
Going forward i believe other than some no brainers ( make gs ambush an actual cool power skill and make mirror spawn near you) that the devs should take their time with “fixing” or “buffing/nerfing” aspecs of this spec.
Im sure way more “exp” mesmer have their own feedback from the elite and i would love to hear some. But if ppl just want to qq id prefer they do that elsewhere.

No, to Open World PvP for all the reasons stated in the previous threads.
Yeah, it has. Most nations outlawed open dueling at the end of the 1800’s.
But more to the point of the game, I think I hear far more praise than complaints over the fact that people don’t get harassed for duels every few minutes in GW2. And honestly, I think the lack of easy offhand competition might help engender this game’s overall helpful community. Not everything is focused on “your gear looks trash, 1v1 me noob!” or whatever. Maybe. I could be way off base with that one, but still. I think getting bothered to duel at random or by some aggressive troll will just get on my nerves.
That could be easily avoided by a check the p-layers can have (togle duel invites on/off)
I woul put the recolours for the fractal weapons here as well. Maybe 8k the 2 handed skins and 5k the 1 handed ones?
