Its just a 28MB download. Check your downloads folder for something with a great big GW2 logo on it. Copy it to your GW2 game folder.

No worries. The map changes happened with the NPE. You’ll find the other starter maps have some changes too.

I want this! I’m going to be upgrading the pc over the next few months so I might check into what’s needed.

I haven’t had much of a go yet but I’m enjoying what I’ve seen so far.

Eir, Rytlock, Caithe, Forgal, Malyck. I liked Marjory when she first appeared but something has changed and now she’s a little boring. Maybe because she was the boss and now my crew of ignorant know-nothings are the boss.

And, I don’t mind Trahearne, but I have a lot of Sylvari so I’m used to seeing him. With the tweaks to the personal story I’ve even stopped calling him Treehearne to myself.

Yeah, i have to say it’s a little off putting. I went to town with one during the HoT mapling stress test thing and I was having a great old time. I’ve played my rev on various high level maps today and I really can’t put my finger on why it seems to be less fun this time around. I’ll keep fooling with it anyway since I haven’t tried out staff yet.

One of these days I’m going to have a really good go at doing something like this. Nice work guys.

As opposed to WoW where almost everything, even your darn friendlist (I mean seriously??) is character bound.

I keep this particular opinion to myself since I’m in a minority but all this account binding kittens me to tears. I like to play my characters and I find there’s not really a lot in the way of individual character progression. Besides leveling, of course. I’m not going to go through the list because there are shades in each feature but I don’t want to see to much more.

Progressing everything seperately for every character might be fun 2, 3 or 4 times. But not 20+ times.

For you and many, many others; not for me.

I did it yesterday (for the first time ever) on a ranger. That tendril thing must have been a bug because my left overs disappeared. With my pet covering for me I didn’t have a problem with shooting the giants, and with longbow I was able to stay away from the Risen Knight. Profession differences.

Be interesting to see how others have handled it, though I’ll find out as I put other characters through it. I have loads waiting to take their turn

The Horizontal Progression CDI had a lot of people asking for and discussing more use for the Orders. It could be a thing in the future (though I’m not holding my breath).

I’ve no problems with the new trait system. So far anyway. There isn’t much that bothers me about it.

From reading the forums for the last few days I think the AC issue has less to do with traits and more to do with the downscaling change. Or maybe a combination of both.

The champs used to go after the golems so if that’s still the case then the farmers are actually participating. There are so many people at a Claw event that is doesn’t really matter what they do.

Brian, you must have had the single worst luck in the sort of person you’ve had interaction with that I’ve heard. It’s a shame your experience has sucked. Maybe because I spend so much time with my /guild tab up (even when I’m the only one on) that I don’t see any of this. I’ve never Pvp’ed either so I guess I haven’t had my skin tested enough in this game

I main Condi Mesmer. I have 1000’s of hours played. Condi mesmer was in fact buffed this patch. Hint: Blind = confusion

My condi mesmer can kill mobs almost as quickly as power crit if I stack my shatters just like any other shatter build. Condi mesmer gets the added benefit of being more forgiving in playstyle.

I know condi builds were buffed for Guardians and Ele’s. I’m not sure about the rest of the classes.

My hybrid warriors and rangers absolutely melt mobs. They weren’t bad before either but now it feels like I’m not playing niche builds (though I probably still am…).

I didn’t see the screen shots before they were removed. Though if a player wanted to stand idle for 24 hrs straight, it’s still ok to do so.

If you play NA then one of them is a pretty regular name. I see him afking at various spots where events spawn. Quite often nude since people just have to revive him.

Its annoying but its their time that’s being wasted not yours. Knocked out and nude or playing actively; these guys probably aren’t missed anyway.

Monthly? I reckon you’d be fine providing you don’t play eight hours a day, or use it for downloading patches. Are you able to check your daily usage to see how much it uses for a normal session?

They removed the dredge heart but that’s about it for south Wayfarer. The nodes and TP NPCs removal is through all the maps so not really specific for it. It looks like Hero point challenges are now open to any level again since Marga beared up for my ranger.

I took a few months off from the game last year because of what they did to the map.

It boils down to GW2 is not like other MMOs. Other MMOs use quest givers as a way to lead players through areas until they leveled enough to leave. GW2 is more sandbox like where you make your own fun. I was an explorer. I wanted to find all waypoints, POI, Vistas and SkillHero Challenges and harvest nodes for cash. If the hearts filled while I was defending myself, great. But this was back in the “good old days” of pre NPE. At the very least all the mat nodes are hidden and I don’t know how much of the those “goals” I had are now hidden on the map or for how long.

I know the goal of NPE was not to overload the new player with things they could do but now it’s like an overprotective parent who won’t let their child out of there reach. But the result may be limiting players just to hearts and map sweeping which IMO isn’t the game’s strong suit and is training new players to be led rather than encouraging free play.

I’ve been levelling characters even through the NPE and hardly anything was hidden. I just rolled a new ranger to experience the trait changes from the start and, except for the abomination that is the NPE Wayfarer map, levelling now sort of feels like it did when I started. Though they haven’t put the material nodes back into the level 1 – 5 areas.
