This is the issue most people struggle with. You will never find this in an MMORPG.

Definitely consider a different type of game if you’re looking for something balanced.

Searching for a WvW guild. Doing PvP is a massive bonus. Server is irrelevant, I can transfer wherever. I would prefer being on a T2 or T3 server, T4 is doable. I plan on playing Warrior & Elementalist.

Hi everyone, Storm here once again talking about AG’s future in GW2.

First off, I want to apologize about the last few weeks that I’ve been unable to stream due to Internet issues I’m still working out.

That being said, the final AG weekly will be on November 30th and will be open to literally anyone and everyone to play as a free agent or team. Pro Leaguers are welcome to play as full 5-man teams as I would like to have this final weekly event go out with a strong showing that I will 100% stream.

AG is coming up on 97 weeks tonight, but unfortunately I’ve had to cancel this week’s and next week’s events due to preparation for other things I’m currently involved in. I have a lot of exciting things for my casting future starting soon which causes me to end this weekly event. The AG Weekly has been a pleasure to host for nearly two years now and is what got me into commentating. So thanks to everyone who has played, watched, and supported my events. A huge shoutout to Josh who has always helped me keep these alive with prizing and promotion!

This is a pretty good change tbh. While guardian’s don’t have a great spot in top-tier play by any means before this patch (who knows, maybe it’ll change soon), this is good overall given the current faceroll of guardian at the moment. An effective minor change to traps is good.

There are many achievements that require PVP play. Although i want to get the achievements, I absolutely hate pvp!! I get my butt whipped like i was not even playing. And, i consider myself a descent player. i have been playing for over 3 years.

maybe make alternate routes for achievements. I like the cooperative play in PVE. that’s mainly how i play. Sometimes i feel like i am forced to play WVW or PVP.

I don’t mind working hard and long for achievements. I am not saying make it easier, just give us more options for completing achievements, thank you

Why, though? The game should reward players for..doing the actual function required for the reward.

Alternative routes for these sorts of things would defeat the purpose of achievements.

This past week I just decided to start an event on EU for PvP with a 2v2 tournament. This is a weekly tournament that is open to everyone all of skill levels who wants to battle it out for a chance to win gems.

• Region: Europe

• Day: Wednesdays

Just curious, have you considered composing posting pvp highlight reels for these weekly tournaments? Feel like that would help promote it quite a bit.

Just realized there were highlight reels, after going out of my way to search youtube.

I am able to highlight what I stream on my Twitch but I can’t create a highlight reel as I unfortunately don’t have to time or expertise to be able to do this in a timely manner.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything regarding my weekly tournament. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s the only weekly PvP tournament in Guild Wars 2 at this time.

I’ve decided that with the end of the 2016 World Championship I needed to change up the format that was more inviting to not only top tier players but solo players of any skill level.

All players may now participate in Academy Gaming as free agents, including those that participated at the World Championship. With this, I am still allowing for all teams to participate so long as they do not contain any member of a World Championship team.

To be clear:

• All players, including the World Championship ones, may play as free agents to get paired up with players to have a chance at some mini llamas or gems
• World Championship players are not allowed to participate on teams outside of free agency

The reason for these rules are to not discourage those teams that don’t play for $200k to stop participating. They play for llamas and gems and most of them would stop signing up after a few weeks when seeing the competition.

Nothing else is really changing but I thought I’d make it somewhat of an announcement for those interested in playing.

The tournament happens EVERY Wednesday evening with signups at http://battlefy.com/academy-gaming. Just make sure you join the Discord (link on Battlefy) and read up on the rules.

That’s just it, I don’t think Engi beats DH at all in fact, I believe the exact opposite so I had to challenge your claim.

If best Engi NA said Engi > DH i’d take it with a grain of salt because like you said, 9/10 he’d win vs any DH player. But if players like booMs and/or Naru came on and said Engi most definitely beats DH then i’d be inclined to agree but still have to challenge said Engi to a duel, for science.

Ranked games mean nothing for what beats what. You could put a Pro League player on their main class to face off against a random person in a queue that counters them and 9/10 times, if not 10/10 times, they will win the fight.

EDIT: You also need to keep in mind Marvin was running a build without scrapper when he fought you. Not to mention it was P/P condi. The same scenario certainly applies for any ranked queues due to the crazy builds you can often see in queues.

Every class in the game is viable right now and can be played. Maybe not a super crazy rifle/longbow warrior build, but there is an iteration of every class that is viable. This is coming from someone who watches every single competitive game in GW2 and communicates with the top players regularly to talk to them about the meta.

There used to be automated tournaments but they seemed to have been scrapped when they changed everything.

AG is at an all-time low in terms of signups now. It’d be nice to get those numbers back up.

The issue is that people who got Legendary last season just assumed they were supposed to be there again this season since they are “that good”. Even so, there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be Legendary that are still. I think the system is getting better but isn’t quite right just yet.

CC has been a major issue but honestly not as much as the previous meta.

A lot of it comes with experience and knowing what to dodge, etc. With that being said, many things you just cannot expect, especially in team fights when you’re looking at five enemies.

Just try to hold your stunbreaks for times of need and don’t blow them just because you’re CC’d but you’re not being focused down. Keep the same in mind with dodges.

As for being chain CC’d, it happens. If you’re completely out of cooldowns it can happen to anyone if it’s just the worst timing to be focused. Again, just try to not use your stunbreaks unless you absolutely have to.. especially if you only have one of them.

To avoid Skyhammer and Spirit Watch? Of course.

NA will be, yes.

I doubt this will be happening this week. I’ve been ill and unable to advertise it as I was hoping to. I will be doing everything I can for this to be a thing again and make sure it works out next week.

NA AG is still going strong. It won’t die just because the last 2 weeks we’ve had low numbers. Most people were just waiting on their gems.

I’m trying to push for AG EU again but I doubt it’ll be happening this week because I have been ill the last 2 days and unable to advertise/play the game.

For those of you that are into March Madness (or even if you’re not), I’ve decided to open up a March Madness pool for Guild Wars 2 players this year.

If you’re not familiar with March Madness, it’s essentially the grand college basketball tournament at the end of the season where 68 teams battle for a national championship.

Steps to entering:

1. Send 10 gold to Tichorum.2415 in game
2. Head to http://bit.ly/gw2mm to create an ESPN account
3. Create your bracket and fill in your picks (changeable until start time on March 17th)
3,5. MAKE SURE your bracket name is either AccountName.1234 OR you include your bracket name in the mail with your 10 gold
4. Brackets are locked on March 17th when the first game begins!

Prizing:
1st: 50% of the pool of gold + 800 gem code
2nd: 20% + 400 gem code
3rd: 15%
4th: 10%
5th: 5%
(Gem codes will only apply if there are at least 20 entrants)

Rules:

• If 10 gold is not sent by the tournament start time on March 17th your bracket will be removed from the pool
• Players may only have one bracket
• Players must create the bracket name as AccountName.1234 or include their bracket name in the mail they send with their 10 gold
• The points structure is as default on ESPN’s Tournament Challenge; we will not be using a third-party points structure (shown at the botton of this post)

Points Structure
Note: The “first round” are the two play-in games that do not count towards points

• Round 2: 10 points per pick

• Ties: The National Championship is used as the tiebreaker for the game score which you enter in the selection phase

No offence but what I read from OPs text is that s/he is pretty new to sPvP or haven’t play much PvP atleast.

The map mechanics in the game is fantastic and 5vs5 is the best number in GW2, they had 8vs8 before but it was too much even if I want it back it is not atleast a ranked mode.

How long someone survives comes with build and player skills, sounds like it works as intended as long as a tanky build can’t tank 3 players and not die. I am far from a pro but I have never seen that this season.

Also if you go 1vs1 on all 3 points you will have two more players who doesn’t know how to play.

3 years of pvp i mostly AFK the dailies at this point, i dont think i have EVER killed any1, i cant think of another pvp game in the history of mankind where its possible to never kill any1 at all even when you try, the skill floor in this game needs to be cut by about a thousand percent
