You’re all correct, Mai isn’t dead. She might as well be though, after she answers to you-know-who.

I understand you want to help your friend. As I said, we are actively looking at this!
I will merge this post into your other thread, but please just wait while an agent figures this out.
One thing we noted was that this account was purchased from an unauthorized third-party and that can sometimes pose issues in verification. We also suspect that the hacker closed the ticket when your friend wrote us.
We will continue to address this, but we may need to wait until a couple of other people are back on duty before we can finally resolve this. In the meantime, be assured that the account is locked to everyone and it is going to be kept that way until we have more information.

Your friend is getting hacked, repeatedly. This is not an issue with our security, nor an issue with the quality of our support (hence, I changed your insulting thread title).
Your friend needs to secure his computer, as our agent has told him. He needs to scan for malware (like a keylogger) on his computer following instructions sent over on July 25th. He probably needs to set up a completely NEW e-mail account, since his e-mail may have been compromised. And he needs to stop making new tickets! If he has new information he needs to update his first ticket rather than making a new one.
We want to help, but we’re unable to do so right now, because we may be exposing the account’s information to the hacker (through an insecure communication chain). And your friend is refusing to provide other information that we need to prove that he is the account owner, when multiple people have the serial code.
Answer me this: How did that other person (the hacker) get the serial code? How was he able to get in the middle of this conversation? Probably (I am speculating) because the e-mail is hacked. Definitely he did not get the code info from us! Your friend needs to provide information that the hacker does not have. We are willing to work with him, but he needs to do his part!
My associate is sending a response. Have your friend respond, but have him consider the idea of a new e-mail address to keep the conversation private because we really believe that e-mail is compromised and that’s how someone is hacking him.

Thedenofsin.7340, that is great feedback! The community and shoutcasters are definitely growing, and this is the kind of constructive feedback that really helps.
We’re working on systems to help new players for in-game. Outside of the game, the community team works on weekly live streams. On top of that, there’s videos from the community. I agree that overviews are great and very helpful. We will consider that for future streams and tournaments.
Thanks!
He is not banned, he is just not allowed to participate in the tournament. And no, it will not.
By the six would you please put some space between the subjects in your text I cannot read this, without my eyes hurting :S
I helped.
BALANCE AND BUG-FIXING
Living World
Cutthroat Politics
- Updated the Candidate Trials so that the first mate of each candidate will only offer conversation options for the tiers unlocked by the player.
- Fixed a bug in the Candidate Trials which prevented some of the Aetherblade waves from spawning.
World
- Cursed Shore
- While attacking the Champion Risen Giant at the Promenade of the Gods, most of the risen defenders will stop spawning once the “Risen Presence” objective is completed.
Profession Skills
Necromancer:
- Dhuumfire: In competitive PvP only, burning duration caused by this trait has been reduced from 4 seconds to 2 seconds. Burning duration is still 4 seconds in other areas of the game.
Ranger:
- Sun, Stone, and Storm Spirit: Fixed a bug that caused downed players to be able to use the spirit effects without gaining the internal cooldown.
cymerdown.4103, Thank you so much for the kind words! I’ve been running around like a madwoman the past few days trying to make this happen. Really appreciate the encouragement.
Guild Wars is a very different game from Guild Wars 2. I understand the sentiment (I myself was a Guild Wars player, Spearmen 44/50!), but we did not build a new game to be just like an old one. While we can certainly gain inspiration from it, comparing the two skill systems is not very helpful because they are vastly different.
Oh, please do go ahead and write up a ticket. We try very hard to make adjustments when we can. I can’t speak to this precise transaction, but if you contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page, the team may be able to assist you.

ilr.9675, I definitely understand your point of view, but understand that observing the CoC/ToS is very important on these forums. I would post on there more, but I think my PvP title makes people think I only ever care or think about PvP (which is definitely not true). I don’t think it’s possible to estimate how many skills we would have to split, but I can say that if we feel it is absolutely necessary for the health of the game, we will split a skill/trait.
I’m curious as well! Is there a possibility that you’re experiencing heavy latency? The skill itself has about a quarter second cast time (and cancels other skills that are already casting).
Oh great, I’m glad you’re ok. Good luck on the next achievement.

Hey Ace,
could you please add more details on what you exactly wanted to describe with your post. This would allow us to evaluate if you’re reporting a bug or if you’re making a suggestion and lead you to the right place on the forums.
Thanks for your cooperation.
Some of the targeting changes we’re trying should help alleviate selection of stacked targets. Right now there’s so much overlap that even if you clicked perfectly on someone’s model, it could select a minion instead.

FYI, and in case you didn’t see it, we posted the sticky here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/api/Welcome-to-the-API-Development-subforum/first#post2469979
We’ve discussed opening a subforum for this but decided against it as it adds just another one, and there are already a lot of them already. If there’s a high demand for such a subforum (not in the API Development subforum but on the Fan-generated Content subforum), we may reconsider. But until then, please follow these rules. Thank you!
The fix that is coming is in consideration of the time that we had to complete it. We are planning to rework some things when we have more time, but felt this would be sufficient for now, considering the first Qualifying tournament is tomorrow.
Hey everyone! We have elected to “hotfix” the Necro and split Dhuumfire to bring it down a bit in PvP. This change will be in today, with patch notes in the usual place.
Thanks for the feedback!
1. Part of growing a playerbase involves showcasing the game.
2. Showcasing the game through a tournament is a great way to introduce new players to exciting “end-game” for PvP. (NO, this is not ALL end-game, just part of it)
3. While the developers are hard at work building systems for the game, the community team strives to do our part in helping bring in players. This is currently being done by hosting a tournament where players can win several thousand dollars. Yes, real money. Gasp! That said, please think of the tournament as a separate, but equally helpful, entity of PvP growth. The tournament and shoutcasters need our support to help this game grow, while the dev team focuses on helping the game grow through implementation.
Thanks for understanding!
This is not a push for e-sports. While you are entitled to our opinion, the tournament is a perk for players who care enough to try. We are not pulling off resources for development to run this tournament. We are still working on important features of the game.
Tournaments and community growth go hand-in-hand with development.
I’m not sure that the account is considered “ineligible” as that we’re not able to offer that service. I seldom discourage someone from asking, because there may be elements I don’t know about that prompt a different response. However, I think the process of a server reset is simply something we do not do.
Which, perhaps, adds even more weight to the suggestion for a confirmation process. That is not to say that clicking “Yes, I confirm” will stop all unwanted transfers. But if we can cut them down, and if players know they set it up and confirmed, I think that would be better. (The foregoing was a personal opinion, and does not necessarily reflect those of the dev team nor the ability to add such a feature to the game! )

Well, I don’t want to block people completely, because occasionally I need to get a PM. For instance, you’ve both seen someone post “I think I know about an exploit” and I give them an email address or tell them to PM me. I do not want to start collecting exploit reports, but sometimes — is that’s the only way we’re going to hear about it — it’s good to have a PM box.
Also, sometimes I need a bit more info about a situation (say one in which a ticket has not been submitted) and I ask for that via PM for privacy reasons.
Plus, I don’t want to be out of touch, I just want people to post where they will be helped as quickly as possible and where their post and the solution/answer may help others.

By signing up for the tournament, every single player has agreed to the Code of Conduct. The player in question has been in clear violation of it, and has therefore been declared non-eligible for the tournament. Team Denial Esports is still allowed to participate with a replacement filling that roster spot.
Let me be very clear here: Talking about bringing a firearm to an event where hundreds of people will be in attendance is unacceptable. And no, statements like that are not “a joke” or even remotely funny.
If players want to be perceived as “professionals”, they have to be aware that they will be held to standards. When you are the leader of a team, you should lead by example.
The player in question will stay non-eligible for the tournament. We wish all the teams participating the best of luck.
Variety is good for the game, especially a balanced variety. If we make too much of any one type of content, eventually that type of content will become tiresome. The purpose of my reply wasn’t to naysay jumping puzzles or activities, but just to let you know that something different is coming. Personally, I’m a huge fan of epic open-world dynamic events and since I’ve had a hand or two in the upcoming releases, you should get ready.
As the late Captain Mai once said, watch the skies.
We’re talking about skipping 4 days of Temple. Not skipping Temple until the end of time. This would not only benefit the teams participating, but it would benefit the teams that wish to eventually compete, as well as the shoutcasters to practice casting on these maps. Thus, the entire future of PvP benefits from this as the tournament, and the shoutcasters, are essentially showcasing our game and helping us grow our playerbase.
Given that, we will be adjusting the tournament rotation for the remainder of the month to be the following:
7/26: Forest of Niflhel
7/30: Legacy of the Foefire
Thank you for understanding!
I have received quite a number of PMs, many from people who haven’t even submitted a ticket. Please read the first post and help us help you!

Please understand that we simply cannot offer the service of correcting user error on an unlimited basis. The one-time replacement was a favor, but with all due respect, you really need to take greater care in your in-game transactions, for you own the process and you can prevent these issues from taking place.
I know you are disappointed, but that decision is final, and again, you can prevent the need for these requests in the future by exercising closer attention to the in-game transaction.

Bear in mind I’m not saying it’s ideal, but for getting a sense of what the PERCEPTION is, the forums are a good place to hear the VOCAL minority and their thoughts (but how many times are there huge opinion threads on a patch even before you guys have played the changes in question….theorycrafting isn’t very accurate…).
We have many other places where we get data, but when it comes to interfacing with a ton of people at once, we often go to the forums to get a quick “pulse check” on what people are thinking. It’s often hyperbole, but it still gives us a sense. We can make up our own minds, we don’t just go to the forums and start making every change we read…
Then the “sifting” process starts, and we separate fact from fiction, fact from opinion, etc.
Players are funny….they don’t want us listening to the forums….but then they can be mad when we don’t listen to their feedback.

Hello Jonathan,
You’ll want to contact Support at http://support.guildwars2.com so they can research your issue.
1:30 am…long day at the show.
THe reason I quickly jump into the sPvP forums is because that’s usually the best place to talk overall game balance.
It’s honestly just easier for me to look at that 1 forum, and then the WvW base forum, and get a sense for those 2 game types. For PvE, there are many layers of balance, from story steps, to dungeons, to fractals, to events, to new content for the living world, etc.
For the class forums, it’s just looking at 8 individual forums, which, when you’re on trips like this with a slow wi-fi connect, is just much harder and slower.
It’s not that we don’t love PvE, or balance for PvE, it’s literally just easier for me (personally) to check 1 sub forum, rather than 8, when I have limited time and a “meh” wi-fi.
Don’t read too much into that.
Also, if I post in 1 class sub forum, then I feel like I need to be fair and post in the other 7…which adds up fast at 1:30 am. Heh.
Just being honest! Thanks for all the constructive posts and honest questions guys!!!

Please for the love of god make Tab targeting actually select the nearest player! I don’t care where my mouse is looking. When I press tab I want to target the person attacking my side not the person 50 ft. away.
This would be a separate bind called ‘Target Nearest’. Tab targeting is meant to cycle through targets with some priority that may or may not start with your closest target. For instance, tab could prefer targets towards the center of your screen, and not necessarily the closest.
Evan, since we are at it, a few months ago you were right about to implement a fix, so that when interaction windows popped up on your screen (like a tournament match), you didn’t get kicked out of your chat windows interrupting whatever you were in the process of typing. For some reason this never went through and I wonder what happened.
Any chance for this to be happening anytime soon, because it is still as annoying as it ever was.
This fix is done on a case-by-case basis. If there are more windows that need to not do that, just let me know. I applied the fix to the death breakdown (no longer relevant), the scoreboard, and the overflow redirect.

Could you please post a detailed description of what you’re expecting each mouse button to do, and what it does now? i.e double click, single click. Could you also post a screen shot of your general options panel and your skillbar at the time of this bug happening? This would greatly help deduce the problem.

Can’t really spoil anything but August has no jumping puzzle and we definitely wanted to steer away from instanced mini-games.
A reasonable request! Will ask the guys about this tomorrow.
First, you can read all our responses by going to Support (link above) and then going to the “My Stuff” page. But if that’s not convenient, I am told that the best thing to do in cases like this is for you to update your ticket with a new, completely different email address for us to use as a point of contact.
You’ve checked Spam and Junk, I am sure, so I think we need an alternative contact email address from a different provider. (IOW, don’t send a ThisImaginaryISP.com address if you’re not getting mails on a different ThisImaginaryISP.com account.)
Some ISPs/providers seem to have intermittent trouble with our mails. Lately, Outlook (formerly Hotmail) has been flagging our mails as spam. I have heard of issues in the past with Yahoo and Gmail, but I don’t know that they are having trouble these days with properly handling our mails.
Another alternative is to contact your ISP and ask how they can help you ensure you actually receive the mails you want to get.
Hope this helps!
