I like the sound effects and voices and stuff… I also know that the voices are random from a list… but… I’m getting pretty fed up of hearing some of the key quotes like “seize the moment” or “I can outrun a centaur”…
Some of them I don’t mind though. Suggestion perhaps is to add/change them to something you wouldn’t mind hearing over again like “woosh” or “boost!” so it sounds like a sound effect rather than a memorable quote you may get fed up of…
Just a thought.
We need to adjust the PC chatter frequency so certain lines play less often. It’s on our to-do list.
I haven’t been able to reproduce the issue, and the scripts all look fine to me. You beat him up, he turns green (non combat), stumbles for a bit, then dies. Are you applying a bleed/poison or some other continuous effect?
This forum software does not support images in signatures and at this time, we do not intend on seeking a change in this feature.
Not having images in signatures lessens the burden on the moderator team, as they do not have to police the size and content of image-based signatures. It also keeps the forums cleaner and easier to read, as players see more of the content they are looking for and have to scroll less to read the whole page.
Definitely sounding like it’s not lag and more like it only happens when the player character is female. We’ll keep investigating this; thanks for the help!

Added to 9/24 update:
If you’re knocked off the bridge, your checkpoint will be set on the other side, so you can accept the death and bypass the puzzle, or try it again by reviving at the start. (You’re downed if you fall so you can self-revive.)

Thanks for the report! We track this issue on a case-by-case basis, as it generally has to do with the map. Does it happen every where you use the skill or are there specific locations where you’re seeing it happen? Screenshot are one of the best ways to get the location information we need to track these down.

I’m a bit short on time and I wanted to say something here so forgive me if this has already been pointed out.
1. Orders expiring or not expiring doesn’t change the the efficacy of our servers at the moment, there is currently no performance reason or gameplay reason I can think of to make orders expire (within reason). The market changes often, I believe I could set orders to be fulfilled 1-3 months in the future and meet success.
2. People can and should get to define their own selling prices. The wait time, or other “transaction fees” relative to the player are defined by their own preferences. While I may be willing to wait to sell something I made for a price that I really want, my character may be more impatient and be willing to sacrifice currency for convenience and/or time. That is a completely normal set of preferences to have inside a game.
Relative to this. There is some amount of players who are new and still learning the system and that’s why we added protection for sub vendor value on the trading post.

UPDATE: The Audio and Programming teams have been investigating this issue since it was first reported over the weekend. They’re working on a fix.
We believe we’ve identified the issue causing this and will be testing the fix for this over the next week to make sure it’s stable. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Update: I just found and fixed a bug where Trahearne would stop at the entrance to the tomb (and not move) if Gretchen was killed or in combat when he reached it. Also in the 9/24 update.
I worked on it more over the weekend, still working today. It’s to the point that I think I may need to write 2 blogs. We’ll get it up as soon as I can guys, thanks for being patient.

UPDATE: The Audio Team and various members of the Programming team have been investigating the issue since the weekend. A fix is being worked on.
The most simple answer is this game is a sequel to Guild Wars. Thus, the inclusion of the “2”. Since this question has been answered, this thread will be closed now.
The team is hard at work on a number of anti-gold-spammer strategies. In the meantime, be sure to right-click and report all spammers to our support team. Thanks!
While we’re aware of a handful of missing VO files, you shouldn’t be having widespread issues like this.
Well be that as it may BobbyStein, it is now happening in every story line cutscene for me and the wife too. It began happening after the last patch, simple as that.
If that’s the case, then it might not be an issue of missing files but a new bug that was introduced. I’ll notify some folks and find out more.

Thanks for the information, everyone! We’re continuing to investigate this issue, but haven’t been able to consistently reproduce it on the noted story steps. One of our first suspicions is that it could be related to lag causing the audio not to play.

The 9/24 update does have some adjustments to this story step. (It wasn’t intended for so many destroyers to be active at once.)

Btw , regarding your move to England , you might have to buy an European version of the game to play it . Somehow they said theyre looking into it for those who frequently travelaround.
There is no need to purchase a 2nd copy of the game if you are moving continent or you travel frequently.

There are a couple of things that could be causing this issue and so I have two steps that I would like for you to try in order to resolve it.
The theory is that the root certs on your computers are not up to date. Follow these steps to update them:
1. Close the game client.
2. Download and run http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe
3. You’ll probably have to click ‘run’ or ‘allow’ a couple times, but after that, nothing will appear. But that’s OK, your root certs have now been updated.
4. Open the game client and try to access the trading post.
If you haven’t been able to load the trading post at all, try these steps. If this works for you, I’ll ask our customer service team to write up more formal documentation on this procedure.
Next, I would like for you to clear your web cache. Note, by following these instructions you will lose at least your graphics settings and have to set them up again:
1. Close the game client.
2. Delete the local.dat file located in Documents\Guild Wars 2\local.dat
3. Open the game client and try loading the Trading Post again.
Should this not resolve the issue for you guys, then I would like to collect a Game Advisor report so I can see if there is something that could be creating some compatibility issues with the game client. I have received some reports that security software has been the cause of this issue.

Hi mathisk – There is indeed a known issue with Windows 32-bit operating systems and certain Nvidia cards, primarily the GTX cards. We’re still looking into this but at this time there is no ETA for a fix. Players with 32-bit operating systems would be limited to the lower graphics settings as this is meant to prevent the “Out of Memory” crashes.
So unless you are able to upgrade to a 64-bit operating system (and probably add a bit more RAM as well) I am in agreement that lowering some of the graphics options may lessen if not stop the Out of Memory crashes.

Hi peer – You’re most welcome. You do have the latest drivers installed, but I think it would be best to install Service Pack 1 and then do a clean installation of the latest AMD drivers. This is due to the fact that the drivers were installed before the critical Windows updates were present.
EDIT : I should also mention that I would only recommend updating the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard.
Hi Idris Elba – This is definitely a curious issue. Since you had mentioned that you only have one keyboard language, we can rule that one out. So I would also like to rule out your security software as being either the issue if not a contributing factor. As a temporary troubleshooting step, are you able to completely remove Kaspersky?
Please note, we are not asking you to run your PC without any security software. We simply need to verify if this application is blocking access and often, temporarily removing the application is the only way to do this.

Hi peer – I will try to assist as many players as I can in regards to this issue but it will be difficult as it’s a pretty complex one. I will do my best to address what I can see but I would highly recommend creating a support ticket so that you can get some one on one assistance as our Technical Support team will cover all possible bases in regards to this issue to get you playing.
To start, I have reviewed your DxDiag and it appears you are missing a very critical update for Windows 7. The latest revision of drivers from AMD.com now require Microsoft Service Pack 1 to be installed on your computer and it appears your PC does not have this installed. Secondly, it appears as though you are either missing updates for your motherboard drivers or you do not have them installed:

Hi Conpatshe – This is a pretty loaded question as performance based issues can stem from a number of different variables. While definitely not placing a blame on you or your system, we do like to rule it out first as being an issue so we can address it and get you playing at the proper speeds while we continue to investigate this issue as a whole on our end.
That being said, I’d like to collect a couple of diagnostic reports from you. The first one, is very much like a DxDiag but provides a bit more information called the Game Advisor report.

Second, I would like to ensure that your computer devices are running at the correct speeds. To do this we will be using a 3rd party program called GPU-Z which will give us more detailed information which will help us in troubleshooting your issue.
1. Visit http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/2157/TechPowerUp_GPU-Z_v0.6.4.html
2. Click on “Download Now”
3. You will be prompted to select a location to download it from. Please select the location closest to you. (If in the US select one of the US options etc)
4. Once the file is downloaded, please double-clik it to begin installing it.
5. Select “yes” and then “Next” and then “Install”
6. Once the install is complete click “Close” and the program should automatically run.
7. Make sure the “Graphics” tab is active and click the camera icon in the upper right corner. 8.
8. In the menu that pops up, select “Save to File”. Choose your desktop as your save location and name the file.
From there you should be able to attach this file to the thread as well.

I put in a ticket on sunday the 9th because my account was hacked and all my gear/gold/banked items/crafting materials were stolen. Also my mail was deleted. Is there a way to get my gold/items back without having to roll back my account? Since it’s been so long i started playing again and would not really want to have all that work/time deleted. I logged on while they were stealing stuff I believe and was able to change my password and protect my two lowest level characters.
120909-004664 was the ticket.
The only way to conduct an account restoration — once the service is offered — is to “roll back” the account. There isn’t a way to generate items or to roll back a single character while leaving the others intact.

Try moving a ways away from him, then back. There’s a rare bug where he’ll think no players are around even though you’re standing right next to him. I believe a fix is slated for the 9/24 update.
We have to manually flag them to be able to revive players and/or NPCs. We’ve tried to do this in all story steps, but if notice one where they don’t, let us know the name of the step. Also note that NPCs can only revive if they’re not in combat.
