Some says Fiery GS is useless but I think it’s the most useful slot skill (Other than heal) that we can have. When I mastered it I can kill like 7+ enemies without even healing . I wish there’s a trait that’ll increase its duration.

PS. Fiery GS makes elementalists berserkers.

I remember fighting 2-4 people on my ele. Then I leveled up a thief and I still kill 2-4 people, but it is out of a zerg of 20 and I get away clean.

Does it matter? Ele’s are by far the weakest class in the game. Who cares what damage they do with some easily avoidable staff ability.

This seems like a great way for ANet to cut labor cost while increasing labor output. Don’t you think it would be another step in the right direction to release dev kits for a nominal price (say $50), so programming savvy customers (who are also stakeholders who are time and financially invested) can expediently provide solutions? I personally would not do so without recognition and compensation, but there definitely are stakeholders willing to increase the value they perceive. Again, that would lead to more labor savings at the ANet offices while increasing labor output.

It is now as a support weapon and light skirmisher on a locked area, I can reliably 1vs1 most classes on a point now ( and win most of them including necros and mesmers ), thx to increased healing on water blast and increased radius of geyser.

The now faster shockwave allow me to lock targets on eruption quite easily and lava font does full tick dmg now, let’s not forget the increased radius of fireball and the unblockable frozen ground…what more could you ask?

I literally have no more problem with staff eles after the patch, because the skills are still too telegraphed for a few radius/speed boosts to do anything significant. You must be fighting people who lack any significant knowledge of how ele skills work.

You must have been playing against eles who try to hit a moving target with staff aoe skills.

The point is to try to force the opponent in a favourable position for you, I simply need to stop you from being in one area ( that’s all the point of support build ), it’s not me who try to hit you..you’ll get hit by trying to hit me instead.

If you want to stay on the point..I destroy you, so you dodge my “telegrephed” attacks
and I cap the point, if you try to get me..well I’m well positioned, with unblockable frozen ground-faster shockwave-longer burning retreat…before you get to me your HP bar will go down by 50% at least, all the while my team will focus you hard.

With larceneous strike nerf I can keep almost perma regen/protection on me and as I play support staff, I’ll always be together with a guardian or hammer warrior who’ll take the fire off me

That’s a really cute story, but the reality is while you think you are doing some kind of masterful positioning every class in the game only has to hit 1 button to reach you and then you die. I’m sure you have had some success leaching from a guardian or warrior, but any other class “supporting” would have achieved 10x more, and so would any other weapon on the same broken class that you play.

The Elementalists are already a joke in PvP, we don’t need to be running around with super glassy builds pretending that we’re thieves and trying to burst and run.

You can’t team fight with this, you can’t roam with this and you can’t 1v1 with this, so why do you run it? To blow up stupid people? I can tell you it won’t work against decent players.

Don’t even get me started on how bad this would be in WvW…

No way, if you think mes is on the same level as ele. Ele is still a viable class if played correctly… But it takes us 10x the work the achieve our objective.

Granted finding a good mes is tough, but that aside, mes is one of the strongest classes in the game. Period. If you think I’m wrong the you’ve never played against a good mes.

They need to just bring ele back to its launch form. Vs the current meta, it would put up some amazing fights and be up there with the best classes.

I have played for about year, thanks, and have quite a bit of experience! How about you try it out before you knock it.

Its an easier-access replacement for FGS, so you can take any elite you want. You give up an arcane skill or mistform for this, mistform is trash right now (bugged) and shouldn’t be taken anyway.

The recharge for unsteady ground will stay the same or about the same as it is currently. Also there are a few other nice staff changes coming in that patch as well. =)

If we start discussing anything more than this, like class designs, then this conversation will never end. We do not have the skills or the knowledge to solve the “grand equation of classes” across all game modes and in all types of content. All we can do is compare simple concepts.

Also, at the below post, comment #30, Guang crunches the numbers for each class with max buffs. Elementalists came in third at ~13K DPS; warriors are sixth ~10K DPS.

Last week they said Jack of all trades, this week they said support class. When are you going to get it? They just want to nerf you. Then they want to nerf you again. They don’t want you to play the class. Elementalists are dead.

Everything else I disagree with. My Elementalist is not broken whatsoever, and I’m still doing massive damage even without full berserker gear. Considering every decent ability ele’s have has been nerfed into the ground several times over, I couldn’t really care less about fire grab’s angle. The class is dead, there is no point fixing one thing while the rest is still broken.

You would have to spend days or even WEEKS at community college, then work your way up the ranks at Anet, then when the timing is right convince them to start playing ele’s, they would then naturally un-nerf them and then presto: you could have a chance vs either!
