As a WvW player, I have to say the big shade feels much better to play than using the three smaller shades, You can move your damage around alot easier, and since it also switches the shade abilities off you to 10 targets, it also makes it easier to support your group with barriers and cleanses. The odds that your going to have 3 shades and yourself in good spots is ALOT lower than just having 1 shade and yourself in good positions to make use of your skills.

I have to agree with the complaints on pathing. I tested it out in wvw, and they are almost completely unusable inside a tower because of the height elevations, and also fail at random times even not in towers due to the same issue. I think simply having them spawn at the player like Mesmer clones/phantasms do would be better, since the code is already there for that.

For shield, I would suggest increasing the size of the bubble for one, since it spawns off to the side of you, if you move even just a little you aren’t going to be in it. Or have it cast directly in front of you instead of off to the side. And maybe add 2 seconds to the duration.

For bow, I agree on making it cast a lot faster, currently its EXTREMELY hard to target, even by leading the people you want to heal, because of such a delayed cast.

One major thing to note is that the life force is generated for each hit, so this skill can now generate up to 75% life force, or 100% when traited.

Yep. I just tried it on some mobs. Drained myself of LF first. Aggroed 5 others and used spectral grasp. Poof. Full LF.

If that’s the case, I would say have them nerf the LF generation, and give us a shorter CD on it.

They made them worse. If the idea was to build a burn build around spirit weapons, the previous functionality worked better. GG on making something worse that was already bad.

When they fix all the bugs, the Sword of Justice might become viable on condi builds.

It was already as viable as it could be on a condi-build previously. It’s worse now, at least for pvp (which wasn’t much to begin with, but it was fun/funny).

Once the trait gets fixed it will be really good for wvw. 4 hits, 5 targets, with perm wrath that’s 6 VoJ activations on top of the burning its going to cause already. As long as you cast it on a restack or in the middle of a group its going to be pretty damaging.

Hm. I feel like I already know the answer but, what happens if you cast it point blank on something? They won’t all hit the same target, will they?

If every single target is in a line in front of you I believe the hands will hit the same target five times. I’m not sure how this would work precisely irt chill application.

Interesting fact as well, it DOES shotgun, so you can land multiple claws on the same target, granted its not that great, but it could be 15 bleed stacks in a burst if done right?

I’m a bit disappointed that despite hitting 4 times, it only procs one Burn when traited, not sure if that’s intended or bugged. Old SW proc’d burn on every hit.

The trait doesn’t actually work atm, that’s just your own Virtue of justice going off. I posted about it in the bug forum.

Its…. really awkward. The huge CD was not needed, but the massive range of random pulls is…. kinda interesting. It doesn’t pull near your target it pulls your target and the 4 closest things too you, no matter how far out in left field they are from the original target. In WvW it could be handy to drag random people into a nuke, but i dont think its worth the slot with that CD. Interesting fact as well, it DOES shotgun, so you can land multiple claws on the same target, granted its not that great, but it could be 15 bleed stacks in a burst if done right?

Life Force stays, but Shroud does not. The new F2-F5 skills cost Life Force to use.

F5 actually is a sand shroud you enter for 7s and that will trigger all shroud traits that rely on entering/being in shroud. You dont use life force as hp though

Except its on a 20s cd, which kinda guts the “on entering shroud” traits -.-

Also as a note, it only seems to effect the smaller portals, the EBG portal I could stand right next to and unless i ran into it, it didn’t activate, for the BL portals if I clip part of the ramp while running by i get transferred.

I don’t know if anyone else has been having this problem as of late or not, but did they expand the area that portal for the other BLs in WvW activate at? I keep running by them and end up going into a different BL because of it. It seems that as soon as you touch the ramp at all it activates, without actually needing to go to the actual portal.

In home BL I seem to be running into this a lot, since going to north camp partially requires you to go past them from the citadel WP. I haven’t had this issue until recently as well, so I was not sure if something changed or not. If possible can this be looked at since it can really screw someone over that has been waiting in queue, and having to go back into queue when they didn’t actually go through the portal.

Path of corruption question

Ya, this skill is bugged af, I mean, you can even dodge it by walking through it. So, its hard to pull it out, but it corrupts in AoE.

Except it doesn’t, I had two guildies stand right next to each other, had the guard spam boons until they both had plenty, made sure there wasn’t any aegis, and every single time it would only corrupt the current targets boons, even though both were getting hit by multiple of the attacks, and were 100% both getting hit by the blind, which according to the wiki, is the hit that actually strips. So it seems that either this is an oversight and needs to be corrected in places, or the skill is actually bugged with path of corruption.

Everything i seem to be finding, including the wiki, says path of corruption while using reaper shroud, should cause an AoE boon strip on the final hit, however, after testing this with a few guildies, it only ever removes the boons from the target I have targeted. Both were getting hit by the final hit, but boons were only being converted on one target. Is this a bug, or just bad information?

Dropping boon duration on food wont do anything, the issue is more or less heralds. With 50% boon duration on a skill that can be kept up 100% of the time, it causes things to break.

Now, that being said, run boon strip…. Stacking all the boons in the world isnt going to save you when a strip removes all stacks of said boon and completely negates it.

Bug: Immobilized in WvW by Druids

It mostly has to do with movement based skills. I have had this multiple times with my reaper shroud leap in recent history, but also with other leaps. I am not sure if it is from canceling the skill before it finishes or something else tied to movement based skills. However the known ways to fix it were listed above,

Swapping weapons (this includes going into DS for necros)
doing certain emotes, such as /sit /dance
Using another movement skill. (this DOES include the daredevil specialized dodges, as they are treated separately from regular dodges. Regular dodges WILL NOT clear this bug however)

Generally the easiest is the emote. However obviously in the middle of a fight its going to cost you, but until anet actually fixes it, its all you can really do.

While not really on the subject of color, is there anyway you can give better priority to the tags? Currently in larger fights, nameplates actually go over the tag, and can make it hard to spot. If there is a way they could be always on top I think that would help alot.

Being on BG I do have to feel for you guys. And please let it be known that at least I, and other people on the server have no hard feelings towards ET regarding the queues. It was going to happen. BG generally does have very good numbers on reset nights, but then tappers off as the week goes on, (other than EB… because EB) Add in another server’s WvW population, regardless of its size, and it was just going to make things worse. Honestly with something like this, they needed to increase the amount of people per borderland, at least in some way, if this was the only thing they could come up with, or as was mentioned, just roll the lower tiers together. instead of just folding the groupings in half.

Question about a Hack I saw today

I recently seen both enemies and allies go down and then get up, walk away in a straight line and either just keep going until fall damage or wall stopped them, as if lagging. I think eventually, after walking maybe 2-3k units the enemies go back down again.

When the ally went down the lord we were fighting never moved and kept attacking the spot he had gone down in until they ran off the wall and died off fall damage. When I asked them if they were hacking they were clueless.

I also only started noticing this over the last 2ish months, since I transferred to t1.

I’m not sure if this is a lag this from large amount of players fighting or moving around the map or some sort of hack to get u hack into the group or just something that happened in a patch around the same time I transferred.

This isnt a hack, it was a bug introduced in a recent patch. For some reason when people go down the animation still shows them moving. And its not lag either, it happened in Spvp the other day when i was playing as well. however it was only the model that was still running, i sat there auto attacking the spot where the person went down and they were still taking damage. If anything it is close to the same bug where people would go down, but were not in the same position as it was showing on screen, just now the models are even more screwed up.

So I am guessing between 9 month to 1 and a half year.

BTW, don’t you guys feel like shield is very underwhelming ATM?
First they nerf blocking duration from 2 1/4 sec and 2 1/4 sec to 1 1/2 and 1 1/2, and we are ok with it? i mean the usual block of shield is 3 sec but mesmer having it split which is not equal to full block of 3 sec.
Also the damage from iAvenger is abyssmal too

PPK is overall a bad thing.

The PPK has very little effect in the final score, yet it has significantly increased gangking, exchanging kills and other toxic behavior, also making the game mode less newbie friendly (if you never played WvWvW and wasn’t smart enough to stick that blue dorito, you will be ganked over and again, probably never coming back).

No, its not, It supports more fighting in a game mode about pvp. And why does EVERYTHING have to be newbie friendly now? Its a game mode meant for group pvp combat, its the ONLY game mode meant for this, and the ONLY place you can do this. Even if you are totally new to the game, wouldn’t it make sense that if you don’t know what the game mode is about, you look it up?

I played priest in WoW for several years. I played dominator in Lineage 2 for several years. Neither of these games ever forced me out of elite content. Actually, in wow, every class was viable in raid and it wad almost purely about the personal skill of the player. Healer could be priest, shaman, paladin, druid. Tank could be warrior, paladin and partly druid. DPS could be anything.

Why do i have to change class (not to play my main and most favourite character) in anet’s raids just because they don’t know how to design content/classes? I say, it is their fault. Yes, as a player i should be able to adapt – by changing gear, traits, and skills. It is completely unacceptable to be forced to play some chronomancer just to be allowed to be in raid and to tank. Chronomancer was never supposed to be tank anyway. That class sounds like pure ranged dps/support. However, anet fails to design their professions in the light of a bigger picture. Currently it just looks like they can just delete 4 professions from the game and they would not mind it at all.

I am only commenting on this for one reason, you clearly did not play BC or pre BC, There were indeed certain specs of classes that were EXTREMELY frowned upon in raids. So I would advise picking a better reference.

I’m just pointing this out since you decided to put it in capitals. That was the Spear of Justice pulling him into Ring of Warding the second time. The first time was a 5/2 for stealth and was just short of pulling it off. Then the guard snared and pulled him back into it.

I’m hoping DH get’s knocked down a couple of pegs in today’s balance patch. It really needs it.

You are correct, I did miss that on the second one, that was my bad. However, I know what the first one was, and that is still bad play, even when doing that combo for stealth, why would you leave the guard targeted knowing that he is standing inside the ring?

All I see is a raging thief that has no clue how to even approach a guard, let alone a DH. Bounced himself MULTIPLE times off the ring of warding, while he was outside of it. Used withdraw, while in stealth, while at 75% health or higher. No attempt at trying to use SB to help pick away at the DH’s health. Leaped AT the guard right when his shield blew up…

let alone this being a 1v1, which would favor the guard even if he wasn’t DH, as guard has always been a counter to thief…

I actually went back to the burn build as well, though I kept it where it was with valor/radiance/virtues. and use Sword/torch + GS. Honestly I think the big thing is that people forgot how to deal with the original burn guards because everyone is a DH now. The only class that I pretty much refuse to fight is any type of MM necro. Considering I WWed into one before and literally got instant downed by 20+ stacks of my own burning coming back on me…

It is because you are getting quickness partway through, the stomping mechanic does not work correctly when quickness is not on the entire time. It also actually bugs out if slow falls off as well while in the middle of stomping (but doesnt if its added on) where as quickness bugs if you add it on after the stomp is started, or lose it part way through the stomp.

The mobility is kitten. Its bugs more often than actually work. Might as well not be there at all now. If its useless at low hp then its useless as a whole healing skill cause after all, healing skills are supposed to keep you alive unless we started plaiyng some new game where we use healing skills as dps moves now.

You dindt even bother to read replies, did you? If you dont care, then simply keep this kind of stuff to yourself. If you had to use second healing skill right after Shiro one then it means Shiro healing skill failed to do it job and keep you in a fight.

Ps. the duration of Shiro heal is a joke..15 seconds? I can outstealth it on my thief if i want to or even simply evade over and over. Who ever thought 15sec duration is a good idea when it need at 20 so it can actually work with hammer and random blinds?

I love your comments, and the fact that they are your opinions, and believe it or not, the point of a healing skill or class design in general, isn’t all based on YOUR opinion.

Shiro is a sustain healing skill not an “oh Sh**” button, The fact that it heals you over time, AND also increases damage, is pretty big, and also the fact that you CAN (but don’t have to) overlap it with your other heal is huge. Also, the fact that you HAVE ANOTHER heal, should show that rev heals as a whole should not be “oh Sh**” buttons, as you DO get two. So you pointing out that the strategy of activated both to heal is wrong, isn’t, as you activating both heals, would be the same as any other class activating one, even though each of rev’s heals can be as strong as any other class’ single heal.

Glint facet bug?

I am having this issue recently in spvp and its getting extremely annoying, as it puts the facets on a 3 sec cd when deactivating them. It has actually gotten me killed a few times as i went to activate the facet heal, or reveal a stealth only to find i couldn’t, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why this is happening, as it happens at completely random times.

I started using Sword/axe and Sword/shield as my power set up for spvp and have been having a lot of fun with it. The extra mobility now that the shiro shadow step has a CD is awesome, plus it chills and does decent damage, and also puts you behind your target, giving you free leach with the right build. Also the axe 5 is great in groups to help pull things together to cleave down with sword autos.

There is indeed a game breaking bug with guard F3, Reaper’s shroud auto can bypass it if they stand close enough to you. Actually got downed that way because I thought it would block and apparently because of the aoe cleave nature of the attack it can bypass even from the front.

True shot range

I am not entirely sure that I’m correct here, but I think what’s actually happening is that longbow’s auto attack can actually travel further than the 1200 range. Once the arrow reaches 1200 range, it does not simply vanish, but continues to travel a bit further. As such, you could likely hit someone at 1300-1400 range, especially if you’re shooting down at them. Ranger longbow works in much the same way. With auto attack you used to be able to hit targets at 1900 range if you had a slight elevation over them. Not sure if this is still true.

Trueshot on the other hand appears to travel to exactly 1200 range and vanish. It seems to act more like a laser beam than a projectile in this sense.This is how I interpret it anyways.

This is correct. certain things fire like a normal arrow would, and thus have an arc that increases its range ever so slightly, and can cause a hit at longer distances. however, skills that travel straight horizontal such as LB #2/3 and other skills like certain warrior LB skills do the same thing, they vanish at a solid 1200 range instead of having that arc.

My guild ran our “Pvp night” and we ended up with so many people that we tried 8v8 conquest on our custom arena. Have to say, it was pretty awesome and WAY better than 5v5. Though i think it would require only team queues, because as either a solo or hotjoin i could see the zerg getting out of hand.

I use UA mostly as an evade with damage rather than dmg with evasion. If it weren’t for that I wouldn’t even bother with it at all.

It has to due with guard pull mechanics, both Binding blades and the DH F1 pull require the initial hit to be dodged, after that even evading doesn’t matter, the only thing that would save you would be stability at that point.

So with Jalis it’s dodge + UA (dodge gives stab)

Pretty much! well until you end up UAing into all of the traps that DH insta-casts while your doing UA….

I honestly Love Jalis in a group fight for PvP, with the leach against vulnerable enemies from Destruction traits, it ends up healing a decent amount, since the trait has no CD, along with using sword autos or mace #2.

•Reaper—Blighter’s Boon: This trait now only procs for boons you apply to yourself. Increased healing level multiplier by 25%, increased healing attribute multiplier by 330%.

This means that the reaper HAS to run spite to get pretty much any benefit from this, as boons applied by allies no longer heal the reaper, and the only buffs a reaper really is going to get for self application is going to be might stacking in spite.

im talking about a 1v1 encounter on a node so basicaly now they are even stronger in 1v1 thx to the healing multiplier buffs they got.

Depends on how your fighting them really, Reapers are still extremely weak against being kited, and requires a hit and run playstyle on them. The biggest issue with MM reapers, and that’s just the cancer that is MM

Well, I actually think it’s even funnier there wasn’t any nerf to Scrapper. Necros got a nerf, which made one of their traits worthless. Maybe it doesn’t effect duels, but it will hurt in every other fight. But hey Scrapper is completely fine, right?

Yeah, have had more issues vs scrappers than necros, and the necros I have had issues with is minions since I run hybrid condi/power, and all of my AoE is conditions, which just ends up coming back in my face. Good scrappers however come pretty close to destroying me every time -.-

funny how there was no Necro self sustain nerf……………
it allready feel like hitting a wall that hits back for 50% of your HP.

now after the rev sustain nerfs ? i can just bend over againt’s good reapers…….

They actually did nerf reaper sustain

•Reaper—Blighter’s Boon: This trait now only procs for boons you apply to yourself. Increased healing level multiplier by 25%, increased healing attribute multiplier by 330%.

This means that the reaper HAS to run spite to get pretty much any benefit from this, as boons applied by allies no longer heal the reaper, and the only buffs a reaper really is going to get for self application is going to be might stacking in spite.

It’s not just terrain differences and walls, something else is definitely askew. Sometimes I can’t even maintain them on flat land with nothing else around; sometimes I can maintain them just fine against the griffon tower boss in EotM and sometimes I can’t – even when we fight him in same location, i.e. on flat ground in the center, away from the pillars. In other words, in seemingly identical situations I often get different results.

Honestly, this all sounds likes the “obscured” issue that happens with other projectiles (most notable for me would be scepter 1 and torch 4 for guardian since it was my main) Where even on flat ground, something goes horribly wrong and you get really odd error effects, however since this skill doesn’t have a specific hit/miss/out of range context to it, the message doesn’t appear, and instead just bugs out. Personally I haven’t ran into this, however I haven’t really used it much other than in group fights in PvP, in which case I couldn’t really keep track of them anyways.

Axe 4 is pretty awesome, between the chill, teleport, and the damage it does. Axe 5 is pretty decent but could work on some consistency issues, but its nice because it lines up everything for a nice Mace 2 or mace 3.

Any projectile that auto targets in an area work in the same way, a great example would be the thieves own ability, dagger storm. These abilities dont require a target, and actively attack targets when they are in the range of attack, The big difference is that since these are projectiles, they still track a character in stealth since it doesnt require a target to activate. Much like any bouncing projectiles can hit a target in stealth as well, with their bounces, it only checks to see if there is a viable target in the area, not the fact that they are stealthed or not.

Really? I see Burn Guard all the time in PvP. Seems like a lot of people I find don’t really know how to effectively play it though, and IMO it’s pretty easily outclassed by a d/d Ele with Blinding Ashes.

Honestly Ele is near impossible to kill at this point with a burn guard with equal skills. My GM and I would duel every now and then and were pretty even previously, but now I don’t even come close, between the sustain and defenses, unless he screws up on a cleanse or a rotation pretty badly, I lose pretty much every time.
