Just happened again. Was in Caledon Forest. Logged out and when I logged in again later I’m at the entrance to the Grove, not where I was when I logged out
I’m seeing this a lot lately.
I was in LA, I WP’d to Metrica Province and played there for a bit and logged out. When I logged in little bit later I’m in LA again. Why does that happen?
Another char I have in starter areas will log out and when I log in again I’m at the entrance to the area rather than where I was when I logged out.
This is getting very annoying and frustrating.
I agree there should be an option to disable glider. Sometimes no matter how careful I am to just barely tap the space bar it still deploys the glider and screws up my jump.
I think the gem store is just showing the full non-discounted price for each tier during the sale. The normal prices of 1890 for 3 and 2800 for 5 are 10% and 20% off the normal price of 700 for 1.
… it´s called weapon-swap which is something basically every class is capable of.
Not every class – Elementalists and Engineers don’t have weapon swap.
YAY! I can finish my Tyria masteries without spending massive amounts of time on specific things.
However…can’t help wonder if they might be adding new mastery tracks for Core Tyria.
OP please tell me what actions can you perform when dead beside pan your cam view and chat?
You’re comparing apples to oranges. Auto loot is not an action that a player performs, it’s something that happens automatically. As such, it should happen automatically regardless if you are dead or alive. What a player can or can’t do while dead is irrelevant.
Rejected:
• No Lumber Cores or Pruning Shears. We count these as trophies used for guild hall decorations which I already mentioned we opted to not include.
• No Strategic Defense Map of the Mists. Used in very few things at a low cost.
Well, that’s a bit disappointing. Those and other items like the Pristine Feathers are only used for crafting and have a required crafting profession and level. I’ll probably never really understand why these items won’t be classified as crafting mats.
I’m still very grateful and excited about this and happy for whatever does make it into the list.
Rejected:
Things to think about a bit more:
• Miyani Items. A lot of folks have rightly pointed out that all of Miyani’s items should go into storage. I haven’t made a final determination on this yet, but it’s likely that we will cut at least some of these from the list.
I still say that anything you can buy one at a time does not need to be included. People can buy them and use them as needed. The only reason to store them is if you miscalculate and buy too many. I’d rather see items that can legitimately need storage be included over items that don’t. For the items you can buy one at a time how about having the ability to sell them back to Miyani?
Rejected:
• Marks, Talismans, Seals, Medallions, and Crests. I have almost zero desire to put all 25 into storage, but I will rethink Crests specifically because of their inclusion in Amalgamated Gemstone crafting.
I totally agree that there’s no reason to have all 25. I would love to see just the Crests included.
I agree with OP. You shouldn’t be able to whisper people if they can’t whisper back. If you try you get a “You can’t do that…” type of message. If it was an accident they it helps you. I expect most people who do it are doing it intentionally so that the player they are insulting can’t reply.
Look at this through my point of view.
One of the problems with this forum community is that people generally seem completely incapable of seeing anyone else’s point of view. That applies to both sides of many suggestions.
I’m pretty much neutral to the suggestion but I definitely understand why the OP is suggesting it. I could see using it if it were done right. There are definitely ways that it could be made to work for people who do want it and still not have any affect on people who don’t. There are already several loot overflow windows that can pop up so it shouldn’t be that difficult to add an option to have it pop up when inventory is not full. It would, of course, have to be an option with the default set to work as it currently does. It would be up to people who want this to modify the option.
First, there would be the following option set (you’d select one of these, they are mutually exclusive):
1) only show when loot exceeds inventory space (default)
2) always show
There could also be a second set of options for auto-filtering loot, such as (you’d select one of these, they are mutually exclusive):
1) keep everything (default)
2) discard all junk items
3) discard all fine and below items
4) discard all masterwork and below items
(maybe there’d be other similar options)
Another alternative idea would be to improve how auto-looting prioritizes items going into inventory. It makes no sense when I auto loot if there’s more loot than I have space for something like a broken claw goes in while a level 80 rare or an exotic does not. They could adjust the code so that if there’s not enough space for everything, higher rarity goes into inventory first.
Let’s say I have a new char with a starting 20 slot bag and one or two 4 slots bags. If the game had the OPs suggestion and I enable it I never need to upgrade my inventory. I just let the lootpanels accumulate on the side and at the end of the day I open, accept (or reject) and sell/salvage in sequence until the loot panels are empty. With the side loot panels waiting there for me to open up I now have an extremely large inventory. No need to buy extra inventory bags from the gemstore or craft or buy bags ingame. So, not only would this hurt ANet’s sales of the bags but it would hurt the value of the ingame bag. Which means there’s no chance ANet would put this in.
I would think the loot panels would work as they do now. If ANET were to consider this suggestion, it makes absolutely no sense at all why they would implement it the way you suggest here. It also makes no sense at all why you would suggest that it would unless you are deliberately trying to undermine the suggestion. Why would you do that?
Awesome list, I’m really exited about this!
I totally agree on the crests. There’s no reason to have all 25 in there. I’ll be very happy if the level 80 ones make the cut.
Please consider adding the scribing mats that come from random drops from foes or gathering like lumber cores, pristine feathers, Strategic Defense Map of the Mists, etc.
Please keep Mystic Crystals and Philosopher Stones because players have to buy multiple but might not use them all. I have 1 crystal and 8 stones left over. I’d say other things like Bloodstone Shard, Elonian Wine, Eldritch Scoll and Icy Runestone could be cut. Players can acquire those as needed in the exact quantity needed.
Mystic Crystals
Philosopher Stones
—> If you dont plan on drastically reducing the rate of how you gain spirit shards, I dont really see the point in keeping those you are forced to buy in excess because of how they are bundled. And if you really want to keep them, its only 2 bank slots.
I have to very much disagree with the statement in bold. Every item on the list is only 1 bank slot. That doesn’t justify eliminating the entire list.
It’s definitely grindy but I’ve never considered it too grindy. How grind someone finds it is very subjective and depends various factors.
Also, I see a lot of people arguing that it’s not grindy because it’s easy. That’s really an invalid correlation. Something can be super easy and still be super grindy.
Free accounts don’t get daily login rewards because ANET wants you to buy the game. Simple as that. Free accounts also can’t mail items. All of the restrictions on free accounts are there for two reasons. To prevent abuse and so that there’s an incentive to buy the game if you like it.
I’m glad they actually did something to stop the turret farming exploit. The fact that they did something is a clear indication that it’s not OK. What they did, however is not the best solution and it does seem to punish legit players in that area.
Here’s a better solution general solution that doesn’t punish legit players. Put a 30 sec timer on all pets and summons. If the player hasn’t targeted and/or attacked anything for 30 sec the their pets/summons stop acquiring new targets. They will continue to fight any previously acquired target even after the 30 sec expires. This would apply to Ranger pets, Necro minions, Engi Turrets, Ele Elementals, Guardian summoned weapons, etc. If you are actively playing you’ll see no difference. This would render AFK turret farming pointless without hurting legit players using turrets.
The account is the entity that matters more to Anet. It doesn’t matter that you are still at your PC, or at another PC, playing on another account. If you are not interacting with the account in question, that account constitutes an inactive player.
But is that really so? From what I could collect from reading the forums, as long as you respond to a moderator when whispered, you are not afk. Which makes sense, because afk means away from keyboard, and replying to a whisper kind of proves you are not afk (unless you use a chat bot).
The “AFK” part of AFK farming is really a misnomer. When people talk about “AFK farming” it really refers to a broader spectrum of unattended game play. The fact that you are keeping enough of an eye on your unattended game play exploit to repsond to a GM doesn’t prove you’re not “AFK”, it just prevents the GM from being able to determine that you are exploiting the game. It’s like if you were doing 50mph over the speed limit but because you have a radar detector you’re able to slow down when you pass a speed trap. That doesn’t mean you not speeding, it just means you took measures to avoid being caught
I disagree. If making gold is your goal, ArenaNet has no problem with doing it afk via Trading Post. You set up that you want to sell 1000 Hardened Leather Sections for 35 silver and then you can go afk for hours or days. To get those 1000 Leather you set up a buy order before for 27 silver (there are always people who sell instantly because they need the money now). When you return, you will have made gold without being active. How is that less afk-gold-farming than moving to the Centaur farm, setting up your turrets, inviting people, replacing turrets etc.
Wow, that is a horrible delusional attempt to justify unattended game play. The is nothing more to do than what you described. That’s simply buying low and selling high. That’s exactly how the trading post works.
…
“Manuscript of ‘This Book Is False’” sells for 60 silver
“Minor Rune of Grenth” sells for 19 copperYou have to loot and sell 315 minor runes to add as much money to the world as one Manuscript does. You get a fractal ancryption and key easily from a Tier 1 fractal. You need to kill a lot of ponies to come close to that.
You are leaving a lot out of this. The engi farming is generating a lot more than just minor runes that sell for 19 copper. Each salvage might produce a rune, it might also produce mats worth a bit more than 19 copper. Surely with all the loot coming in from hours and hours of unattended game play there will be rares and exotics as well. There’s also the fact that opening the fractal boxes is not free. You might find a few keys but you’ll end up buying a lot of keys which will cut into what you get from the box. And you don’t always get something worth 60s, sometimes what you get is worth a bit less that 20s. And mayb the most important detail is that you’re not going to have Fractal Encryptions to open unless you actively play the game to get them and the keys to open them.
If you’re only direct interaction with the game is to re-deploy turrets once every 5 minutes then you are AFK farming. The fact that this method requires periodic maintenance once every 5 minutes doesn’t change that. Neither does the fact that you can see the screen while the game client auto-farms loot for you.

Only Lord Yameon and maybe Anet know if he was casting skills or not. The problem is that the way the 3 rules are stated there’s a way to AFK farm without satisfying all 3 rules. That vagueness doen’t close loophoes, it creates loopholes. It clearly says you have to be violating ALL 3 rules.
Imagine this scenario:
A ranger is parked at a beneficial location with all skills and traits removed. The person is AFK while the pet kills things and autoloot is active. This would satisfy rules 2 and 3 but not rule 1 as there would be no possibility of casting any skill. Clearly this is AFK farming but based on the 3 rules it’s not enough to count as a violation. “If all 3 of these apply to what you are doing, you may get actioned for it.”
Why can’t an official statement be made simply stating that “AFK farming is not allowed and doing so risks getting actioned?” AFK farming can be further defined as gaining loot or other benefit while not directly interacting with the game for ANY period of time. Obviously it will be hard or impossible to catch someone who’s semi-afking but that would be true anyway.
Rule #1 should be taken out. Rules 2 and 3 are enough. Also, maybe it’s just me but the “you may get actioned for it” part seems to minimize the severity of the violation. It should say “you risk getting actioned” to indicate that if you don’t get actioned it means you just got lucky and didn’t get caught.
Does autoloot prevent afk timeout or have they fixed that?
Here’s my idea. What if they made something like a Race Disguise available in the gem store? For example, OP would buy a Norn Race Disguise and apply that disguise to his Asura. Now his Asura looks like a Norn but is actually still an Asura. Any race-specific story missions would still be Asura. Home would still be Rata Sum.
I’m sure that’s not trivial to implement but should be a whole lot less complicated than actually changing race. Would that suffice for people who want to change race? It should if it’s purely cosmetic thing. They already have disguises in the game, just not on a game-wide scale like this would be. This might also be something that would be purchased by more people than just those who want to change race.
More storage is not a solution, just a band-aid on the actual issues. The issue does indeed involve the design choices ANET has been making with all the map specific and items, currencies that don’t go in wallet, and all the other stuff that should have dedicated storage but instead just clogs up storage space. Then there’s also all the stuff from limited time events like early LS episodes that seem to be useless at this point but there’s no clear indication at all. And of course, inventory management is going to be an issue for some people. People’s inventory management issues are not ANET’s fault and it would be wrong to blame them for that, but it’s certainly fair to blame ANET for all the other stuff they do to compound the problem. Then there’s also the loot overload just playing the game. I like the boxes in boxes, it saves space while playing. But there are so many different boxes that don’t stack together and so many different junk items. Between that and the ridiculous number of whites, blues and greens space gets clogged up way too fast.
It’s sad that ANET puts so much effort into clogging peoples inventory in so many ways to try to get people to buy more space.
nono xD i mean 300 pieces of this item are totally worth 900Gold haha.
Ah, I totally misread that. Make a lot more sense that way. Thanks for the clarification.
And also crafted ~300 pieces of a “secret” item which is worth ~900Gold
Im awaiting 5000Gold.. Maybe its way to much, but lets see haha
Am I missing something? If you got ~300 of an item worth ~900 Gold that would be about ~270000 Gold. Why are you worried about a measly 5000 Gold? That’s like pocket change by comparison. Just curious.
Edit: I’d watch the vid.
I think you’re missing the point. It’s not simply that I don’t see it as a valid argument. There’s precedent. There’s no reason at all to think that they wouldn’t do it because of kittening off people who already bought multiple sets. They’ve made various changes that kittened off people who spent boatloads of gems. If that were a reason for them to not do it then the tools would still be soul bound. Salvage-O-Matics would still be soul bound.
There would be a massive outcry and demand for refunds if this happened as a great many players purchased multiple sets of tools long before even shared slots became available. It would be a bad business move if they did as you suggest.
That’s a bogus argument that always gets thrown out in threads like this. How would that be any different from when they changed the tools from soulbound to account bound. There was massive outcry but it got sorted out. Surely some people weren’t happy and that’s unfortunate but I don’t see it as a valid reason not to make a good change. I have also seen plenty of people say that they’d still have multiple sets even if they did add shared gathering tool slots.
I’m for adding shared gathering tool slots.
I agree, please restore the gem store sales sticky.
Because magic ofc!
Also nobody urinates in the world of tyria..did you see any toilets around?
I find it ironic that Tyria discovered toilet paper but not toilets.
Toilet paper in Tyria is strictly for throwing, not for wiping. You can’t even blow your nose with it.
In short, the existing system seems to be working ok.
That’s your opinion.
Destroying four worthless recipe to get anything is a faucet. The current randomized element of the forge takes four things of value and has an 80% chance of returning something of the same rarity (unless you’re careful, that almost always means a net loss).
I can do what you describe with all my minor and major runes and sigils. So what’s wrong with being able to do this with worthless recipes as well? I don’t understand why you seem to be so against this idea. Do you dislike that we can already do that with runes and sigils and many other things?
I still say “faucet” is the wrong word. Faucet implies you turn a handle and the output flows freely. That’s not at all how this would work. The output is limited by the input. The input is itself the reason for this idea. The output quantity is one fourth of the input quantity. Faucets don’t do that. The output value will be based on RNG, which is generally not kind to most people. If that’s how your faucets work then you might want to call a plumber.
Since when has the possibility of people complaining had any affect on what Anet does? People are complaining now, so how would that be different anyway?
I’d like to see them make the Queen Jennah minis Mystic Forge-able. If you have 4 extra you can turn them into another random mini. I’d be really nice if they made the birthday blasters account bound instead of soul bound.
I think the problem is that while Anet has make some great changes to the game they sometimes neglect certain aspects that are aslo affected by the changes. When the game was 1 year old and people were getting the first 1-year bday presents there wasn’t even mini storage. Each char got the mini and could have it in their own inventory and use it. Then they added the mini storage and you could put all of you Queen Jennah minis there if you didn’t want them taking up inventory or bag space. It was still mostly pointless having more than one but at least you could store them somewhere. Then the did the Minis Wardrobe. That’s was a great improvement. If you already had Queen Jennah minis in the old mini storage they’d still be there but if you get new ones you can’t add them. Now they either take up inventory space or you delete them.
The bday scrolls is just out of hand. I’ll never use that many scrolls. How about a vendor that lets you trade excess scrolls for something? I bet that would make a lot of people happy. I can’t imagine it would make anybody unhappy. If you prefer to use them that’s still an option. If they are useless to you you can trade them at the vendor for something that is. The vendor could also take other items, like the teleport to friend. Maybe for starters, the scrolls and teleports and such would also be items you could get from the vendor. If you like scrolls, but not teleports you could exchange the teleports for scrolls and vice versa. There would also be other items, not sure what, for people who down’t want either.
(edited by Bollocks.4078)
I would love if Anet implemented this. It would be nice to do something other than delete worthless recipes I already know. I have 4 of “Recipe: Superior Rune of Radiance” which are not worth selling on the TP. The sell price is 2c, after the minimum 1c for listing fee and minimum 1c for exchange fee you’d end up with zero.
Obviously, if you could put those in the Mystic Forge for a new recipe there’s no guarantee it’d be one you don’t have. It could even be another one of the same you just put into the MF. If nothing else, it would at least be fun to roll them in the MF.
There’s no reason you’d have to get something super valuable. I’d be perfectly happy to get a worthless 2c recipe that I don’t know yet. Part of the fun is the chance of getting a more valuable recipe.
I think people are completely misunderstanding the OP. It’s clear to me that what he meant is that each char you have would still get a yearly birthday present on each one year anniversary of that char’s creation. The only difference would be that the yearly birthday presents would be based on account age, not the age of the character getting the present. A char that is a few days old would not get a birthday present. That’s really just absurd. There would be no account-based birthday present, they would be given to characters on their birthdays.
I think basic idea is definitely worth considering but there’s a lot to consider.
I have been playing GW2 since the beginning. At the beginning I created the 5 toons my account gave me. With HoT I added 4 more toons. So about the time my first 5 toons were getting 4th year presents, my 4 new toons were getting 1st year presents. That’s 4 completely useless Mini Queen Jennahs and 4 completely useless level 20 boosts. I currently have 17 level 20 bosters taking up two inventory slots because they don’t all stack together. I have 1 level 30 booster (I used 4 on the new toons). I have 4 level 40 boosters (got them after my 4 new toons were way past 40, not sure what happened to the 5th, maybe I used one but then I should have another 30). So I probably need to just delete the 20s and the 30 becuase with the 40s I’ll NEVER have any use for the 20s or 30s. Best part is I have more 20s and 30s coming which will be completely useless.
Second year present has the birthday blaster which would be way more useful to the newer toons on my old account. Third and fourth have the dye packs and teleport to friend. Fourth also has the Birthday card.
I’m not really sure what the best solution is, but it’s definitely worth some consideration and discussion. For example, if they let you pick any year up to the age of the account, each toon could only select a given year once. In other words, on toon could not pick fourth year multiple times. Another possible solution would be to give us something to do with the useless items. Maybe let us Mystic Forge the extra Mini Queen Jennas? Forge or trade the many excess Experience Scrolls?

I keep getting this message when I try to join a particular match. I can join other matches. How do I find out if I’ve been banned from that room and if so by who (room admin or anet) and for how long?
That’s also the same message I’d get if the room is full.
I typically do PvP to get my dailies. I do that because it’s fast but that doesn’t mean my main goal is to get it done fast. Generally few if any of the 12 daily items are something I actually want to do. Getting it done faster just means I can get my daily and still have time for the things I actually want to do. If you want to do PvP or WvW you’ll get it just by doing what you want to do. Why can’t it work that way for everybody, not just people who want to PvP or WvW or want to do one of the 4 PvE items. My only choice if I want get the daily is to do stuff I don’t want to do. I’m not saying it’s a problem, just saying it could be better. I make the choice based on what works best for me. A PvP daily room, for me, gives me the best ratio of reward vs time and frustration. I find the PvP daily rooms pretty annoying too most of the time but on top of getting my daily I also get PvP reward track progress, PvP rank progress and I get various other achievements and AP points along the way.
4 choices works fine for PvP and WvW because those modes are nowhere near as varied and vast as PvE. Having only 4 options for PvE is way too limited in my opinion. It would help a lot if there were more choices. I wouldn’t care if it took me a bit longer to get my daily completed if I could do things I want to do in the process. If it makes send that I can get one of my daily items by poking a super easy Vista in a home world why can’t I get it by spending more time on exploring new areas on one of my alts? If I can get daily plus extra rewards for 10-15 minutes of PvP, why can’t I get just the daily for 2 or 3 times as much time doing something else, like map exploration, fractals, dungeons, Personal Story missions, LS, etc?
I’ve done the map event daily. For me I just don’t get enough from it to make it a worth-while way to get one of my daily items. Sure, sometimes I can jump into a map and get the 4 events pretty quick. Sometimes it takes a bit longer. There are multiple factors involved, like what map, random luck, event tracker is showing a bugged event, etc. When I do the events daily I don’t follow mobs, I just try to find events and do them. If someone pings a WP I’ll go. Sometimes the event ends before I get there. Sometimes people ping events that are already almost done. Sometimes people ping a WP outside of the event map so you have to be careful for that. If I use my main with 100% map completion I get nothing useful from low level maps. My XP bar is maxed so I get no XP. The gold/karma is insignificant. I could instead use an alt that needs to explor that map but that will take longer because I can’t WP to anywhere on the map until I run around it for a while. Sometimes that is what I do because I decided on that day that I want to do some exploring on an alt and if I can catch 4 events in the process that’s even better. But that only works if I want to spend the time exploring on an alt. If I get to the point where all of my alts have explored all of the event maps the that will no longer be an option I care for.
Here’s my idea for the best thing they could do to the daily system. Just implement an active playing timer. If you are actively playing the game the timer will be counting. When it reaches xx minutes you get the daily reward – Shards, 2G and AP (if your not at the cap yet). You can do whatever you want to get that xx minutes as long as you are actively playing. There would still be the individual daily items. If you do those you will get that reward as well. I would think as long as you’re not idle you’re accumulating active play time. I don’t know how feasible that would be to implement. Ultimately it would be up to Anet to decide if there’s anything other than being idle that would not count as active playing.
(edited by Bollocks.4078)
My ele sees “no line of sight” a lot when there should be nothing in the way. I can be half an inch away on flat ground and get that. It’s not a pebble because I can dance a circle around what I’m trying to hit and get that from any angle. It definitely happens with projectile skills and I’m pretty sure it happens with non-projectile skills too.
Wheter or not AP is a competition is subjective. If you want to have more than everyone else and be at the top of the leader board then for you it’s a competition. If you only care about your own AP count and don’t care at all about anyone else’s count or the leader board then for you it’s not a comptetition. Basically it’s an optional competition, if you want it to be.
New players will never catch up on AP. There are too many AP points that can no longer be acquired. I’ve been playing since the beginning and I’ll never catch up. If you didn’t play in 2012 then you can’t get the AP for Wintersday 2012 or Halloween 2012, etc, etc… If someone starting the game today did the daily every day without fail they’d hit the cap around Dec 12, 2020.
I don’t care how much AP anyone else has. I only care about my AP and being able to progress it for the AP rewards. I don’t have strong feelings either way on the cap. I’d be happier if they’d remove the cap but hitting the cap won’t affect how much I play at all. Once I hit the cap (and I’m still long way from it) the only thing it may affect is specifically what I do. If I’m not going to get AP from dailies then it will depend on how much I value the remaining rewards vs doing someting else.
ANet’s always explained that they wanted a way to reward players for doing stuff that they’d normally do and dailies are among the mechanics.
If the AP rewards are supposed to reward people for doing what they’d normally do then for me it’s a massive fail in PvE. PvPers and WvWers will get dailies easily doing what they’d normally do. None of the PvE dailies are every anything I’d normally do. I usually get my daily by doing PvP which I normally would not do. I get a very quick daily for AP + 2G + 3 Spirit Shards + PvP reward track progress + PvP rank progress. Getting it quick in PvP lets me get my daily (mainly just for the AP) and leaves me some time to do the things I would normally do. (This is not a complaint, just an observation on how I choose to balance my time/productivity in the game)
How about this idea for daily cap:
- The AP cap for daily AP is equal to the highest amount of Daily+Monthly AP anyone has
- On odd months everyone can earn daily AP
- On even months only people who have not reached the cap can earn daily AP
- People who have hit the cap can still earn AP from Dailies during odd months and can do something else during even months without missing anything
- People who have not hit the cap can always earn AP if they want to
The Wiki page for Long Arm of the Light says that if you are less than 80 you get half a level. I would think if you don’t have HoT you’d just get XP towards your normal rollover XP bar. Did you notice if that happened or not? If not then they must have specifically programmed that to only give XP to HoT accounts and not to non HoT accounts. Either way it definitely won’t be stocked for later. You either got it on our existing non-mastery XP bar or it vanished. Hopefully it went to your non-mastery XP bar.
Because I get no loot for watching someone else play. Plus my RNG is so bad it’d probably cause the person I’m watching to get crappy loot.
JP’s always give “bad” loot. If a JP dropped “Fat loot” then it would become a must do everyday. No one wants that. Most people enjoy being able to do what they want and have the same change as everyone else at getting something good.
Except that you wouldn’t actually have to “do” the JP every day. You just park a character there. Then, every day, just log in, open the chest and get your Phat Loot. Better yet, park however many toons you want there. Phat Loot x times every day for practically no effort. That’s probably why the loot isn’t that good. It’d be way to easy.
That does work every 8 weeks.
What do you mean by 8 weeks? That works every day.
My Ele is always falling off JPs so more balance would really be nice!

40K AP from salvaging in 24 hours would by physically impossible. That number is definitely BS. Even 20K would be impossible.
I get why they capped it, but why couldn’t they just have a cool down after 250AP rather than a cap? Once you hit that threshhold you can can still get AP but only once every X days. It would still always count salvages but you only get AP for one roll-over every X days.
Tonic storage first, then this!
I’ve spent a bit of time on that JP and I’ve gotten close but haven’t quite made it to the end. For me I don’t really have that much anxiety. For me JPs are just massively frustrating. I’m just not good at JPs. That one frustrates the crap out of me. It also bothers me when people propose getting good at JPs as the solution. It’s not going to happen. Easy ones I can do fine but most just frustrate me to no end. It just doesn’t make sense to spend that much time and frustration on something I don’t enjoy.
Zephyr’s Ascent is another one I’ve spent a lot of time on but never completed. There’s one jump in that one that just seems impossible to me.
I finally did Victory or Death for the first time today. Sounds like I’ll lose that progress and have to re-do that. Did I pick the wrong day to do that or what?
I like the idea of an eater for luck.
I agree with the idea but not the proposed solution. Click to use items make sense to use from shared inventory. It doesn’t really make sense to be able to use an equip-able item while it’s in inventory. It would be like being able to wield a sword or staff while it’s in an inventory bag.
Here’s a better solution: add a set of account-based gathering tool slots. They’d be on the character screen near the existing character-based gathering tool slots. You can equip infinite or consumable gathering tools in any combination in the character-based and account-based slots. You can select which set of slots you are using on each character.
Wow, I was miffed when it took me a couple weeks of playing about an hour per day during my lunch break before I finally got it. I was mostly soloing or playing in small groups so it wasn’t just a matter of getting credit for kills. 6 months not getting is is definitely ridiculous. Definitely contact support.
I’d love if they did this. Then people could put one in shared inventory and delete the rest.
Edit: this was in response to the idea of making the Birthday Blaster account bound.

Most people would not expect shared trinkets or weapons, why expect that the gathering tools are shared (without swapping to account wide slots first)?
That’s not really a good analogy. Who actually wants the exact same trinkets and weapons on every character? You can’t even use the same weapons every character. Trinkets and weapons are easy enough to get separately for each char. Gathering tools on the other hand make perfect sense to share across all characters. If trinkets and weapons had to be purchased from the gem store for 1000 gems each we’d be having this same discussion about those.
Here are the main QoL improvements I’d like to see get implemented, in no particular order.
• Keyring
• Wallet storage for existing currencies that don’t currently go in wallet
• Mat storage for existing mats that don’t currently have mat storage
• Build saving
• Add Account-based gathering tool slots
• Storage/wardrobe for all tonics and other toys
• All old collectible items/currencies updated so that they can be traded to a vendor or clearly marked that they are useless. Or at least better info on the Wiki would be great so people know what’s worth saving and what’s safe to delete.
• No more non-functional NPCs right next to functional NPCs like the one by the bank NPC in LA.
• Something to prevent players from dropping interactive items (like Box O Fun) next to an NPC or Loot Chest so that people can’t access them.
• Ability to reduce (not raise) TP sell price without having to unlist/relist or pay another listing fee.
• Ability to hide items in the Nearly Completed Achievments list
If nothing else, the Trading Post eliminates most trading spam. Thank goodness. The game is better off without any Spamadams.
GW1 automatically put all trade spam into the trade channel, you could just turn that kitten off.
Also to the response above that people still got scammed… once again I say…. How? All anet has to do is auto direct all support requests about trade scams to the trash because its hilariously bad if you get scammed with such a system.
People knew how to get around those filters so there was still plenty of trade spam in the normal chat.
There also were people dead-set on scamming. I’d have people put the wrong amount of gold/plat in the trade multiple times over and over attempting to scam me. Look at the link someone else posted with all the ways there were to get scammed using the trade window.
It wouldn’t make any sense at all for them to add a P2P trade window and not support it. If they were to add it they would have to support it. Adding it would be supporting it and they’ve stated that it’s not supported.
