Quick stuff: Revenant/Herald. 2 sets of Heavy Ascended armor, Berserker’s and Marauder’s. Every Berserker’s Ascended weapon. Already downed Vale Guardian, have spent enough time on Gorseval with sub-optimal groups to see 50% a few times.
I’m looking for a solid group to raid with for anywhere from 9-20 hours/week, no Fridays. Prior raid experience is extensive, including plenty of raid leading and co-leading background. Most of my experience is from raiding competitively in WoW, regularly clearing tiers in the top 75 US, most recently on a very limited schedule.
More details on my experience and abilities upon request or via application. Thanks for reading. I can be most easily contacted here or in-game. :-)

Nice, 8 hours on a single pre-existing character with 200 points to start with.
How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor?

5 at best, closer to 4. I can’t actually do any relevant content with my Revenant until I unlock Herald, which I have to spend 100% of my playtime grinding XP for in order to reach the hero points that I need. Stronghold isn’t really holding up either.
Tons of fun. I’m already over the game again, at least until they cave and reduce either Mastery XP requirements or hero point requirements for the elite specs. They should have only cost 200 to begin with. Let characters with 100% completion of Central Tyria have their elite spec right away, reduce the workload for new characters.
Also willing to raid light hours as long as the commitment and efficiency is there. :-)
Edit: NA player.
Hey! Put simply, I’m looking for a guild that plans to raid consistently and reliably as the content is released. I’m coming from a background of years of high-tier competitive progression in WoW and plan to do the same here. Clear the content into farm status as quickly as possible, then spend the free time after clearing quickly each week on other stuff, like fractals, WvW, PvP, real life, etc. Raids & fractals are the only PvE content I care about, and fractals take a distant backseat once raids become active.
Prior raid experience includes several tiers of US 50 and better progression in WoW, including plenty of raid leading and co-leading experience.
I’m maining Revenant and Guardian. Current gear includes 2 sets of Heavy Ascended armor — Berserker’s & Knight’s — and all relevant Berserker’s Ascended Weapons. Able to put together a condi set if condition/support Revenant becomes a thing.
The guild’s history/previous focuses mean little to me; as long as the guild consists of confident, skilled players with a plan (and preferably experience in other games) for raiding, I’m interested in talking. I’m not necessarily worried about “world-firsts,” but I don’t want to spend a disproportionate amount of time on early bosses, you know?
Schedule doesn’t matter to me, as long as it doesn’t include Fridays @ 8-11 PM CST. This is the only time I’m regularly unavailable to play GW2.
More info and such available upon request. I hope to hear from you!

Have fun farming literally hundreds of hero point challenges if you like playing more than a few characters regularly. :-) RNGesus save the altaholics.
Had a brief chat with Aeromu, but y’alls existing rosters seemed pretty heavy already, and the schedules seemed light. Didn’t want to impose. That said, I’d be happy to talk a little more in-depth about y’alls plans sometime.
A scheduled VOIP chat would be good if it’s easy. I’ll add you as well.

Still looking! Not super picky, just need a confident group with a steady schedule.
Interested in talking. :-) Looking for a guild to get cozy with for HoT content.
Will add you and contact you soon-ish.
Same issue, which is unfortunate because I actually planned to use the name my beta Revenant had for my live Revenant on the 23rd.
Thanks for the quick response. :-)
Do y’all have any solid plans for raids yet?
Been finding the worst times to try to chat y’all up (usually AFK). I’d appreciate it if y’all could hit me up if you see me on to increase our odds of catching each other. :-)
Hi there! Primary interests are raids and fractals. Also an avid PvPer & occasional WvWer. Willing to clear vanilla dungeons for trialing purposes, but not interested in them once HoT launches due to reward reductions and the time I plan to commit to raids & fractals. There are simply better things for me to do with my leftover free time.
My schedule is pretty open; my preferences are 6-18 hours/week total, no Fridays. Number of days doesn’t really matter as long as the hours match up. My range of hours is pretty wide, but if the guild can make strong progress in 6 hours of play time, great. I’m also happy to raid up to 18 hours if it means top-end clear times/dates.
Maining Guardian and Revenant in HoT (primarily Rev). I have 2 sets of Ascended Heavy armor — Berserker’s and Knight’s — and all but 1 or 2 of the less useful Ascended Berserker weapons ready for both professions. Working on the rest.
Extensive raid leading and co-leading experience, if applicable to your guild’s interests. US 50+ several tiers running in WoW on a very limited schedule (9 hours/week) compared to other US 50 guilds. I’m used to competitive efficiency on competitive schedules.
As of HoT, I am not committed to a raid schedule in WoW.
As far as rep goes, I prefer a guild that does not require 100%. I sometimes WvW and PvP with another guild, so it’ll probably be closer to 90% rep.
Thanks for reading! I can be contacted here or in-game. I hope to hear from you.

Interested in talking to y’all about your plans and expectations for HoT. Very interested in a reliable raiding/PvE team on a reasonable schedule, but whether I’m willing to transfer off of BG is sort of up in the air. Really committed to maintaining my WvW and server community roots and all. Will add a few of your officers to talk later. :-)
Looking for a pretty serious raid-focused guild for HoT. Progression is the goal.
My stuff:
Full-time student. Old enough to buy alcohol, not old enough to rent a car. Come HoT, I intend to main a Revenant, but have and am able to play a Guardian very well.
My background in MMOs consists of 6 years on-and-off of semi-hardcore PvE and PvP in GW1 and several years of semi-hardcore raiding in WoW. Until recently, I was pushing US 50 and better clears of Mythic content in WoW on an extremely limited schedule compared to most other top US guilds (9 hours/week versus the typical 12-20 or more). I’m no longer raiding there, leaving me time to do other things, like raid in GW2.
Additionally, I’m an experienced organizer and raid leader; aside from having acted as an officer for several progression guilds in the past, I regularly lead a weekly 30-man group through clears of the current tier of content on the highest cross-realmable difficulty (Heroic). Feedback and ratings from these runs can be found here. I’ve also done a fair share of commanding in WvW over the years, granted it’s been quite a while.
The majority of my GW2 career (which spans since launch) has been PvP and WvW, but I’ve made a point of clearing out all PvE content for completion’s (and lore’s) sake. I have as full of an understanding of the PvE meta as someone with access to YouTube, Metabattle, and some vague practice can have after playing GW2 as a side-game for the last year. But don’t worry, I learn within 1-2 runs. I’m simply more interested in it now because I have faith that the incoming content will be legitimately challenging.
I own two full sets of Heavy Ascended armor (Knight’s and Berserker’s), as well as a full set of Berserker’s weapons for both Guardian and Revenant.
Your stuff:
You are a highly organized group of people, preferably with extensive PvE experience here or elsewhere (WoW raid experience would be nice for shared perspective), that intends to raid on a set weekly schedule. Your primary focus is raids, not dungeons.
To be quite clear: dungeons hold no value to me, and I’m not interested in doing them beyond some kind of trialing capacity. My goals are progression-related, and speed clearing years-old content that doesn’t even offer a means toward top-end gear doesn’t serve those goals. Fractals are a different story, but even then I’d spend all of my GW2 time raiding or PvPing long before I considered spending my life in fractals.
+1s abound if your guild is active in the WvW and/or PvP community as well, as that’s where my roots are in this game. PvE was never very impressive before HoT and raids, so I mostly kept to the other side of the fence and PvE’d in WoW.
Finally, you are on a T1 or T2 world. In the interest of WvW, I’d rather stay in these tiers.
Thanks for reading. I can be contacted here or in-game. :-)

Heya Stef.
Bumparino. Still open to options in T1/T2.
I’ll definitely hit you up to talk about y’alls raiding plans. I’m not super worried about the time spent doing it, just that the schedule is consistent and I feel like the time spent is meaningful. Would be fun to have a good bunch of people to get back into the WvW/PvP scene with too. :-) @doc, what times are you usually online?
(edited by Christos de Soufre.3802)
Bumping this.
Need a guild, old or new, whose schedule won’t infringe on my existing commitments.
Hey doc. Figured I’d come back for raids and the new borderlands. :-)
(edited by Christos de Soufre.3802)
Thanks for the extra contact. I’mma let this stew for a couple days while I look before talking to anyone or applying anywhere, but y’all do seem like a good bunch of people. Will add you in-game; interested in talking soon.

Good guild, join up.

Thanks for the response, I’ll take a look.
Hey there. I’m Chris (Dawnheart) — Guardian + (as of HoT) Revenant — and I’m looking for a reasonably talented group of players to run with in HoT when it comes to raids and any other new, challenging PvE content that may be released. So, here’s me:
Full-time student, old enough to drink, not old enough to rent a car.
My background in MMOs consists of 6 years on-and-off of semi-hardcore PvE and PvP in GW1 and several years of semi-hardcore raiding in WoW. Today, I am still actively raiding on a 9 hour/week schedule, clearing the last 2 tiers in the top 100 US, including multiple US 50 and better individual Mythic kills. As of this posting, my guild is US 68 even on our exceptionally light schedule (nearly 1/2 the hours of many US 50 guilds).
Additionally, I’m an experienced organizer and raid leader; aside from minor co-lead jobs in my Mythic progression guild’s raids, I also lead a weekly 30-man group through clears of the current tier of content on the highest cross-realmable difficulty (Heroic). Feedback and ratings from these runs can be found here. I’ve also done a fair share of commanding in WvW over the years, granted it’s been quite a while at this point.
The majority of my GW2 career has been PvP and WvW, but I’ve made a point of clearing out all PvE content for completion’s (and lore’s) sake. That said, I am far from without understanding of the PvE meta. I’m simply more interested in it now because I have faith that the incoming content will be legitimately challenging.
I own two full sets of Heavy Ascended armor (Knight’s and Berserker’s), as well as a full set of Berserker’s weapons for both Guardian and Revenant.
What I want in a guild is a highly organized group of people, preferably with extensive PvE experience here or elsewhere (WoW raid experience would be nice for shared perspective), that intends to raid on a set schedule of 1-3 nights/week — specifically not Tue-Thur 7-10 PM Central. Late weekends or early weekdays work best for me.
I am not interested in leaving the T1/T2 brackets (in the interest of WvW). Guilds outside of these tiers and expecting a world hop just aren’t a possibility for me.
Finally, I am not looking for a guild to speed clear vanilla dungeons with every day. I’m happy to do it, but I won’t log in just for that. I’m primarily looking to push raid content and, from time to time, fractals. I’ve hardly touched them since their release, but I’m interested in exploring all of the changes being made to them. Big fan of D3/exponential difficulty increases, and I get a similar vibe from fractals.
Thanks for reading! I can be contacted here or in-game. Have a nice day. :-)

Boy, you would have hated GW1. I’m more than excited for them to be pushing the darker themes in their story and the progressive zones, but yeah, they could probably afford to liven up some older stuff. But they are. They’re rebuilding LA, which will probably entail more happiness than depression…ness.
Decided to go back to my original look, with a few small changes.
New new options for CC and group support are nice, as is the bow. But like plenty of other people, I hate the name and the idea of traps.
I’m partial to “Fall Back!” because I’m a sucker for GW1 nostalgia.
There’s a portion of me that’s been suspecting since I finished the episode last Tuesday that, when/if the egg hatches, the offspring will carry some aspect of Glint’s spirit, or genetic memory, or something. I have nothing to back such an expectation, but it would be believable in terms of the universe, and it’d be fun to be able to interact with “Glint” in some way. That may just be the GW1 fanboy in me speaking though.
I have a hard time controlling my GW1 nostalgia/hype hybrid dreams sometimes.
1. Tengu (easily the most likely candidate)
2. Largos (less likely, but still…)
3. Dwarves (in the very long term, after Primordius is dead lore- and game-wise)
(edited by Christos de Soufre.3802)
I took it more from the (what I feel is obviously) dark jade shown near the end of the cinematic. The “high golden towers” were just a bonus to me considering Saul D’Allesio’s description of the Mursaat city. Plus the general location, of course.
That said, my second guess is Glint-related, much as anyone else.
Just to answer part of the question, demons were/are formed directly from the Mists. The assumption is that they’re simply deposited into the realm of whomever they serve.
It’s just your run-of-the-mill Engineer trying to pretend his profession/build isn’t mechanically capable of literally facerolling most others so he can feel like he’s actually good at something. Plenty of Warriors and Mages do the same thing in WoW.
Engi is complex in its own right, but it doesn’t take any longer to learn how to play on auto-pilot than any other profession or build in this game. The skill ceiling in GW2 is excruciatingly low, and the floor is casual-pleasingly high.
(edited by Christos de Soufre.3802)
I’m probably just bad at the game now, but if I had a dollar for every time I was beaten into the ground (in sPvP) by a Zerker Longbow/x (GS or Hammer) Warrior, usually with HS, my student loans would be paid off.
Everything else y’all have said is cool too, though.
MURSAAAAAT.
Sorry. I redid the LS with my brother, saw the ending cinematic again, and got excited.
It’s a rough life.
I’m glad RF is a meditation now though. Started logging in just to play with that.
Can we not?

I haven’t really roamed in almost a year (or more), so I couldn’t tell you. The only times I enjoyed roaming anymore was with a DPS build in complex areas like the ruins and cliff areas around EBG, where I could abuse LoS to manage 1vX fights. If you’re trying to find Mesmers in the open field, they have a huge advantage, so I’d just avoid them.
If I were you, I’d only use it for group play/commanding at this point. It’s an easy build to move around a map with (high potential Swiftness uptime) and good for staying alive through snipe attempts and overwhelming hostile AoE.
Zerker/DPS builds are certainly more useful for roaming these days. Too many condis.
I enjoyed reading your post, Rukh, but there’s absolutely nothing to suggest (aside from its name) that Saul found a Mursaat city on the Isles of Janthir.
All we really know about the Isles of Janthir are that it’s allegedly where the Eye of Janthir came from, and that (again, allegedly) people with the Gift of True Sight live there.
Destiny’s Orphans.
90% sure it was for the sake of having a challenge mission to do, but I’m sure some kind of canonical reason can be injected when/if it’s needed by the writers.
I’m still saying it was dark jade.
Mursaat construct, known as Jade Armor and Jade Bows
Mursaat fortifications, Ring of Fire
There’s a Jade Cloak as well, introduced during GWB: WiK in GW1, but it’s green.
e: My reaction to seeing those high, golden towers and “dark jade” outcrops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIu89txQ0LY
(edited by Christos de Soufre.3802)
I’m probably going to die.
High, golden towers. Magical pulses. Dark jade (allegedly). YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HYPED I GOT WATCHING THAT CINEMATIC. ALL I CAN THINK IS “MURSAAT MURSAAT MURSAAAAAAAAT.” I need to calm down, but I really can’t. I need to know for sure. I can’t wait two weeks. I might die. :l Someone halp.
I’d be totally happy either EITHER more burst potential (or simpler line-ups) or more reliable soft CC. Doesn’t even need to be both.
Christos knows his stuff. Don’t be critical of him.
Christos can’t be critical, he doesn’t have enough points in radiance!
Am I PvEing right?
