I’m above average.
You should solo Stonemist.
A lot of people also overestimate their experience. People in general have a tendency to think they are above average. This game also provides very little feedback to let players accurately measure where they stand.
You show up here every month or so complain about being kicked. Have you considered the idea that maybe you are the problem like a lot of people have suggested in the past?
Agree with Saulius. In fact, they rarely read the chat. It’s always a good idea to ask whether anyone is new to the dungeon and tell them to pay attention to chat and targetting if there’s any. You may be more forgiving than the next PUG guy, and maybe he will quit cause someone else is new. You probably want that as well.
That’s a communications issue. If people can’t communicate properly, that is not a good person to have on ANY group activity.
It’s not about lupi being challenging or not, I might like him to be harder, but I have in the past found the aoe circles in phase two to be unpredictable, and this has lead to a lot of frustration, because I’m not convinced it’s a learn to play issue.
Because I play an acrobatic thief, with not much in the way of being able to take a hit, I at the very least pop my evade heal, and two dodges so I can be sure I wont be hit, if it looks really bad, I use Roll for Initiative as well.
That IS a learn to play issue. The AoE is slow enough that you can simply walk out of them in sequence most of the time without taking a hit anyway.
AC p3 encounter is broken aka Gigantus Lupicus
Then it’s perfectly fine and people can do it naked then.
They are a lot more tame than they used to be.
The trick is to STOP FACE TANKING. This is very prevalent among guardians to face tank and survive on the merit of class attributes alone. You need to learn how to use your aegis/stun break and dodge. Since you aren’t 80 yet, you have no access to content that require a lot of dodging so you aren’t fully experienced with how guardian mitigation works beyond the tutorial content.
Hi guys,
I’m casually levelling a warrior alt so that I can be more useful to my team. However I’m a semi-casual player so I don’t think I’ll get it to 80 until May. By then CoF P1 might be nerfed so that no one does it anymore.
So I’m asking the community if zerker warriors are useful outside CoF farming. I’m currently using my PVT Guardian for all other dungeons I do – are there situations where zerker warrior > PVT guardian?
Thanks for your advice.
PVT in PvE is for leeches.

It’s been like this for over 3 months. Not really news at this point.
Has anyone else notice a sudden increase in speedhackers lately? I remember seeing quite a few flying over the skies like UFO when the game started, then the lot of them vanished, presumably banned.
Recently, I’ve noticed an increase in speed hackers again, only they don’t fly but just float or run like they are on drugs. Is this going to be like another DCUO where speedhack is simply facilitated by the way the game was built that it cannot be stopped?
Probably they want to make first one hardest again. AC was hardest when game came out now they want it hard again.
Maybe want to be only MMO that makes things harder as it goes.
AC was by no mean near the hardest dungeon when it came out. It’s actually gotten easier over time and this patch traded all the high HP pool for glass cannon mobs, which makes it less stale.
It makes no sense that the only gear used to progress in fractals require us to be in large guilds or wait months for.
Should I start buying gems so when you put ascended gear in the Gem Store I can snatch them up?
Thanks guys for answers.
@Sostronk, there were a problem before when teams of 6-20 of them all killing mobs you need to finish quest.
I sent in game tickets with screen cap of a time i saw 12 of them all rangers following each other in the same pattern but a week later there still there so i quit the game.
If they are gone now I’ll come back and try this game out again.
Don’t bother. Imagine a game where you have to join the largest of large guilds just to get access to game content and gear.
They made large guilds a requirement, yet the content it unlocks is just recycled bits from GW1. They pale in quality when compared to most other MMOs. I guess ANet is challenging us to find better games elsewhere.
Let’s focus on the most important issue here. Ascended accessories and amulets in fractals. Either that or lift the kitten agony so we can progress.
You can progress to 49 with 30 AR. If you think you’re ever going to get enough AR to survive 50 Jade Maw, I have some bad news for you.
Nobody would really care about AR or the new ascended gear being inaccessible to people that actually could use them if they let us use res orb or ranger res at 50+ again.

This is ridiculous, fractal gears for anything but fractals. The people who actually uses them can’t get them fast enough.
Can we be part of 4 different guild and get up to 48 commendations a week?
you can buy a backpiece with the right amount of coin(or fractal relics), the amulets you get from dailys/monthlys, and you get rings from fractals 10+ daily chests.
Accessories, not the backpiece and not the rings. Just accessories currently costing 50 ectos and 40 laurels per piece.
Is there a way to get fractal accessories through, I don’t know, FRACTALS? Not just daily grind?
It turns out the only way to get them is from the Laurel Vendor. Can someone explain why can’t fractal gears drop in fractals so that people that actually need them can get them?

I have yet to group with any guardian that comes remotely close to Obal’s level in Arah. Kudo’s for your contributions back to the dungeon community.
Look at his Lupi solos. That’s pretty solid proof right there.
I thought about making a guild from the people I ran with in my thread but the thought came a bit late and I got lazy. I was in a guild like that before gw2lfg.com got big and I had a few good groups. Feel free to pm me in game if you want to get something started. I will help you out since I have many that will probably fit your criteria and will want to be added.
You do still have a standing invitation to “I Can Dodge [FotM]”. It’s a guild a few of us started that invites only players with a good attitude and can hold their own in fractals and dungeons.
You ask people not be pushy or elitist, and then demand they be in full exotics? You’re the elitist here. A TON of people trying to do Arah are doing it to finish their story quest, and a ton of people doing dungeons are doing them TO get exotics.
Besides, Arah has been nerfed so hard that I just finished a run with 3 fresh 80s, 2 of which were full passive sigil warriors with no ranged weapon.
First of all, there is a difference between explorable paths (what we are talking about) and story mode (what you are referring to). Second of all, you meant signet (utility skills) not sigils (weapon upgrades). Third of all, you mispelled “Mystery”.
You don’t go to work in pajamas and you don’t go to war in underwear. Dress the part is the least you can do to show that you are PULLING YOUR WEIGHT. Dungeons are group activities, you go in with poor gear, you are making others doing more work and not pulling your weight. That, is unethical.
This is the wrong way to save WvW.
Try again.
I don’t have much MMO experience. I have never done raids before. They seem to be quite fun. Plus it’ll just add more content to the game. It’s something more than a 5 man dungeon. I see people TRULY do not want raids. I feel like they would be more teamwork. Maybe have raids that require different amount of people?
If people truly do not like raids, then just don’t do them? I feel like that’s a simple solution.
Raids are not fun because they are block schedule commitments. If you don’t give equal reward for the commitment, people won’t do them. If you do, it breaks the entire idea of having easy access to all parts of the game for everyone. Plenty other games have raids, feel free to try them there.
Given the actual rate of resistance AR gives (agony deals -6% of your base health every 5AR), we’d need about 970 AR to resist the damage on lvl 50 Maw. So it’s obvious they’ll nerf it when they want us to do level 50-59.
I’m only level 22 fract, so I don’t actually know. But couldn’t you push how far you can go by spamming heals? water field + blasts?
1 tick does 1000+% damage. You die right then and there. The moment you res back up, agony will hit you again. Rinse and repeat until you quit.
Instead, another player starts berating the one at fault for not reading the chat and doing something “wrong” and, in the end, just quits.
Does this happen a lot with that person? I can see people cut their losses and leave instead of dealing with people who pay no attention and expect to be carried. There are a lot of people in this game expected to be carried by the entire group and doing nothing in return.
Lol. Everyone makes mistakes. Try to play in a game where everytime you’re having a bad day or you’re making a mistake you get instakicked. Try. You can’t act like this and rage as a stupid kid, unless the team is really being disgustingly bad AND offensive/rude towards you. Someone should just learn to behave decently…
From OP’s post, you can tell he’s frustrated too, and this guy was the only the first to blow. Frankly, it just sounded one kitten run and someone jumped out the window.
The same people complain about lack of trinity will complain about something else as a way to justify their own failings in the game.
It’s like an American moving to Germany then complains about Germans not speaking English instead of accepting that they need to learn German.

This one really can’t be glitched like most other final fights. Funny how this is the one a few people choose to complain about.
This boss is the 2nd fastest final fight in fractals, there is nothing wrong with it other than weeding out people who can’t dodge and who can’t play as a team. It’s a good gate to keep the higher level fractals free of unqualified players.
This boss is a good test of whether your group is any good or not. It’s only difficult for people that have not yet mastered their class.
They are all looking for low level fractals, likely lacking the experience to know any better.
I’ve seen posts by ANet devs claiming that they don’t feel dungeons are harder for low 80s. I have personally experienced the exact opposite of this. Dungeons as a lowbie are a struggle to stay alive to deal what little damage you can to bosses before inevitably going down. This contrasts with lvl 80 gameplay being borderline faceroll with a well-geared and properly traited group.
I understand that people get more skilled with their class on their way to 80, and the ANet devs believe it is this skill that accounts for the disparity in performance between a lowbie and an 80 in a dungeon. I just feel that the dungeons shouldn’t be quite so harsh at low levels. If I could change the dungeon scaling system, I would give lowbies bonus toughness/vitality at lower levels to match or surpass the survivability of a well-geared lvl 80. This bonus would diminish and eventually disappear as you approached 80. I feel this would create a more level playing field and encourage groups to bring more lowbies along.
TLDR: I prefer level playing fields. Just my 2 copper.
It’s a mix of your lack of experience and poor quality gear that would be the factor. The dungeons aren’t harsh, people just don’t learn their classes until a long time after they hit 80.
Level 80 and full exotic is hardly elitist. You really can’t be much of an elitist in a horizontally progressed game. The majority of the playerbase at this point will have at least one level 80 in full exotic. Mostly it just reflects people wishing to have at least someone competent to group with.
I dont think I’d ever ask a thief to pull out their venoms or their traps even if they had it.
Very helpful with grawl fractal.
On my Guardian in PvE I always choose two utility skills and I adjust them accordingly to the encounter because I have like 6 to choose from.
On my Thief I have only one “support utility” (Shadow Refuge) and I always have it because it’s useful as an aggro drop or for getting an extra back stab in.
You can’t force my Thief to take support skills they don’t have. LOL
Blind Powder, Smoke Screen, Venoms, traps.
Calitropes
Scorpion Wire
Tanking ranged mobs with OP daggerstorm…
Exactly.

You missed the part about them coming to the forum to complain about being kicked. Now that being dead is a lot more apparent and more problematic for groups, people are kicking players like those a lot more.
Stay ranged, stay mobile, stay far away. The grawl’s agony attack has a 900 range, short tell, and slow projectile. He will turn and face the agony target and move into range until he can fire arrow. Stay at max range so you can spot his turn and movement forward. At long range you can sidestep his arrows. Use dodge only as a panic button and walk out of his red circles.
When the lava phase is triggered, take down the shield to about 50% of the stacks before congregating as a group and duck behind blocks/reflects and focus on the adds until they are cleared.
my failed CM run this morning was in a guild group. i’m too new to the game to feel comfortable pugging stuff like that out.
The first part might be applicable here.
My team that used to be able to complete that with a reasonable amount of downs (and revives) and no wipes just got our kittens handed to us in this one.
If you are being downed on the final boss, it’s pretty much game over. You aren’t supposed to get hit by any Agony. The rest of the attacks are fairly survivable.
People changed. Level 10 is where all the people without AR and who has never done a fractal in their lives congregate to farm the easy daily. Enjoy.
But most people do not.
Because you are most people.
plan F: 1 guy doesn’t jump on the maw platform, and 4 of you kill the 2 tentacles. ok.
you die in agony, the one off platform stay there, but one of the other 4 dead uses a revive orb (NOT teleport), then he ress other 3 dead ppl. ok.
the 5th guy stays there off maw platform if you want to kill all colossus, then use the trick again. (then he may come to help) easy and just 2 revive orbs.
any other questions ?
Does that actually work?
Now there is this one fellow that posts continuously 6+ yellows and 1-2 exotics per run. They are different ones and those that drop in the dungeon. I do not believe he would just mock up old stuff for the giggles. So my perception is that I get just a few yellows while all others get 2x as much as I do and one is getting 3-4x as much.
Maybe it’s time to kick him for wearing full MF gear and lying about it. Kick and block, very simple.
It does make sense to reset because the rating system never made sense. The assumptions behind the system is faulty.
So I read they will never add a dungeon finder per say, just make improvements on how to find dungeon parties.. whatever that means.
Anyone else have trouble finding groups. In my case in particular.. I still have to do half the dungeons in story mode. No one in the area ever seems to be running dungeons let alone story.
I want to complete them and see what happens, but I am left just sitting there spamming LFG for hours with no response..
Extremely difficult to find groups.
You have to wait for hours spamming Lion’s Arch to try to get a group. Same if you are in the zone where the dungeon is located.
