What is with the constant spawn rate!!

Eirian Direstorm.9748

It has to do with the idea that different dragon aics are mixing, iirc. So the mobs in Ember Bay and the same type in Mons Draconis are weakened by chill, I can’t recall if the frosty ones up in Bitterfrost frontier are weakened by burning.

I find it a little tiresome too, but in the newest map, the spawn rate sems slower in same areas at least and (a few) people have complained that there aren’t enough mobs! I think we just ave to accept some variation. For example, Malchor’s leap isn’t as crowded with mobs as the Straits of Devastation. —At least it seems so to me.

Marjory and Kasmeer: a heartfelt thought

Eirian Direstorm.9748

I do wish there would be some positive relationships. Maybe Zojja could find a partner, have some progeny, and then for drama, she could wrestle with work/life issues and worry if her kids would be as cranky as Braham. Or, Taimi could be jealous and then get over it, since at least Taimi has been showing development and increasing maturity. :-)

Or maybe Braham could fall for someone, get all moony and be distracted from his Jormag obsession, and Rox could struggle with feeling left out or something, but Braham’s partner could be level-headed and awesome, eventually becoming good friends with Rox.

But, so the cast doesn’t get too big, communicate some of this through mail. :-)

[SUGGESTION] (serious) Guild tab expansion

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Eirian Direstorm.9748

I could use more than 5 options. In PvE, guild tags maybe don’t mean much, but sometimes WvW players use them to carry additional info. For example, I’m in one guild that is a regular WvW fighting guild that cares about our servers score. Almost all the same players formed another guild that specifically does not pursue PPT (points per tick) and instead focuses on just fighting. Running that tag signifies the goal to other players, which is useful. So that takes two slots right there. Further some people join guilds just for raiding, or high level fractals, or PvE guild missions, or dungeons…

So if you want to do all these things, you may run into trouble. I personally, and a number of others I know, are constantly juggling guilds, having to drop and rejoin. It really is kind of a pain.

So why did "Lazarus" help us protect Aurene?

His plan was foiled for now, but since he just disappeared into the mists, who knows what he might do next. I’m interested in the larger turn from killing dragons to neutralizing them, and what that will mean for the future story. From now on are we focused on keeping them alive, but asleep, except for Aurene? That actually opens many more future possibilities; an endless parade of baddies like Balthazar who want to kill the dragons or somehow take their power.

I’ve had the same problem; in fact it’s crashing so hard, I have to force a restart of my whole computer. I’m goin to try one more time and then submit a ticket— I can’t submit when it happens because of the crashes, so far.

I think it might just be that the particle effects of the heat shield plus all the heat, force field, anomalies, etc are overloading my machine because it’s causing kernel panics.

And after all this complaining nobody has even stated the class they play….

I was wondering about classes too; I found Caudecus much easier on my engi, using flamethrower and juggernaut for almost permanent stability (had to remember to grab the flamethrower again after throwing shards.)

I had a harder time on other classes, but I’ve seen so many videos of people breezing through on all different classes. Also, if you kill his minions, the npcs in there with you will help break his bar.

It was a hard fight and I died a few times, but I didn’t think it was too hard, since you could get back in to the room easily without him even regaining health.

I get much more annoyed when there are serious bugs as there were in the final HoT fight, or in that stupid silverwaste labyrinth fight. But I’ve read that both of those were fixed recently.

I also used juggernaut. That definitely makes things easier and these fights are annoying for kit using engineers.

Weirdly enough this last chapter made me use thumper turret a lot and made earlier fights easier because of how it breaks bars and gets the minons off you. I almost never use turrets period. They also attack the tutret a lot, but of course not every class can make extra targets like that.

I think most classes can make extra targets one way or another, though what they give up in that utility slot may not be worth it. I wonder if ogre pet whistle works in LS instances. Has anyone tried it?

Astralaria was my first legendary, and it is a ton of work and requires really grinding HoT maps, along with the other quests and other more general grinding.

That said, I love it. One of the most beautiful weapons in the game, IMO.

There isn’t too much overlap between what each needs, and if it were me, I’d do both.

I also loved the dialogue in that room about the faces; great character work there.

When you start the story and get through the first room of bandits, you then have the option to sneak past the jade constructs or fight them.

I fought them the first time, snuck past the second. I’ve taken 3 alts through since then, and every time since then, I cannot sneak past. No matter what I do, the vigil way is selected. One of the times I was using sneak gyro on my engi, and I know I was invisible the whole time!

So is it bugged, or did something change? Has anyone else run into this?

in Living World

I’ve been playing back through on all my characters. Partly to get all the Caladbolg weapons, but also because I find it interesting to do it on different classes and see what seems easy or hard for each.

And, after finishing the first run through of the Caladbolg quest, and knowing who lives and who dies, and what happens in HoT, some chapters are more emotiinally powerful and interesting.

But I also agree that the loot alone doesn’t justify it at all, though I have been lucky with unidentified dye drops.

Suggestion: Guild Arena upgrade

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Eirian Direstorm.9748

Eirian Direstorm.9748

While it’s fun to bash away at friends in the guild arena, and it can be good practice for PvP or WvW, I think the arena can offer another fun mode.

I suggest an upgrade, or tiered upgrades that let you spawn creatures to fight; ideally certain kinds of bosses. I think this could be especially good for people trying to learn how to raid, so they could learn some of the mechanics.

Right now, if you don’t have a guild with some experienced raiders who are willing to teach you, getting into raids is pretty hard, and not just because of the equipment needed. So this might help people test it out.

But even if you don’t want to go that far, spawning diff kinds of creatures would just be fun. Maybe bandit bosses, or spider champs, or eyes of zhaitan, or maybe historic bosses for nostalgia, or special upgrades around holidays for mummies, toy soldiers, etc.. :-)

My god these last current events * u * .

I really enjoyed it too, and even felt kind of emotional about the whole thing. Though Trahearne got a lot of hate, I always liked him and had been bummed that there was so little made of his death, while Eir had the whole memorial thing. (Not that she shouldn’t have that). All of it felt emotionally satisfying. Hats off, to the writers and voice actors.

I also really like the skins and plan to eventually get all the actual weapons, since I have a few of the broken swords cluttering my bank, and the unstable magic packets make the ascended mats much easier to get.

Every month I end up getting quite a few BL salvage kits. It’s great to get them for free, but it would be even better if they stacked.

What do I do to get to the next portal ?

If you haven’t already, look up the number for the next portal on Dulfy’s site. If you change your stabilizer to that number, jumping throug a rift anywhere (like in the fields of ruin where it’s easy) will take you to the location for that number.

As others said already, for story, the basic gliding mastery and bouncing mushrooms are a must.

The best mastery IMO is the autoloot mastery. You don’t need to run around and collect loot, it will be collected automatically.

That sounds good to me, but do you risk getting encumbered? I deliberately haven’t unlocked this last on yet, because of that concern. :P

Advanced gliding is I think the absolute best, because you can use it all over. I save so much time in so many maps by being able to skip some mobs, or just not having to take some long path from a high place to a lower one.

Bouncing shrooms, and wallows are great for traversing maps, and exalted marks are needed in AB. If you play DS a lot, poison lore is helpful, as there are a number of poisoned areas there.

In Central Tyria lines, I have found getting to the point of rezzing people faster has turned out to be really good, because being able to get allies up quickly has really helped save the day for me in both open world events and in some fractals, or even LS chapters.

[Suggestions] Gemstore Items

Eirian Direstorm.9748

I’d suggest an addition of a “leather rack” similar to the “cloth rack” that you can put into a home instance.

Requirements for some of the new legendary, guild upgrades, and raids making ascended armor more desirable have pushed the leather supply hard. The cloth rack hasn’t wrecked the cloth market as far as I know, and I think a leather rack would make the leather market healthier.

Alternatively or additionally, you could add some kind of leather/textile node upgrade that guild could get for their halls. I would imagine requirements similar to getting other nodes. I’m not sure whether it would be better to require workshop level 1, or level 2.

Cheers!
