And just to add I also tested this in diffrent places (wvw, pvp, pve) to be sure it wasn’t some issue with soldier/trooper runes it works to cleanse ranger and pet but not other allies as you say.

Updated my druid look a bit, polished some on colors, changed hairstyle and mask, got an auric longbow (will get the staff aswell later) diffrent gloves, and also changed the back to the flower since the last picture I am pretty pleased how it turned out.

why the hell would you want that for? you could just stow your pet and get a free one anyway with your first attack, this only slows you down when you don’t want to.

Yeah what others say, worse than ever and completely unplayable after this latest patch 30seconds is the most you can hope for before a crash in any map doing anything (or nothing)
I have no idea what is causing these constant crashes but I do know it’s getting worse and worse it used to be every now and then like maybe once or twice a day at realese of HoT for me, currently I will likely crash twice per hour if I stand in a low populated area doing nothing and in any kind of meta event it’s within a matter of seconds for each crash there is not even a small reason to try any of them anymore…
it’s a bug, and a terribly annoying one, for me it happens 9/10 times that is even more annoying than if it was permanent cause it keeps reminding you how lovely and smooth it feels when it doesn’t combatbug you.

Another bonus for zephyr is a rather long duration of superspeed whether you need to run away or stick to a target, I like the look of this build.

The smokefield never blinded in the first place, all it did was make your pet take no damage.
The assault nerf kinda sucked, but you have to admit there were rangers who were basically sitting on nodes, tanking damage and letting the smokescale kill their opponents for them. However, I don’t see why they had to change the hits from 7 to 5. They could’ve just shaved the damage down some more.
And finally, no more accidentally losing your cap because your smokescale dropped the field and your ele blasts it stealthing ALL your teammates causing you to lose the node.

It never was a leap in the form of any combo bonuses it was only ever a leap in the sense you couldn’t dodge that oneshot kill attack :p
I don’t like this idea at all you are overthinking it in my opinion, just give us the ability to use all of our pets abilities manually instead in a similar way we do for our weapons 1 we can pick to “autofire” and the others can be hit manually.

Would be nice if celestial avatar was always avalible but astral force increaced it’s potency to some degree instead.

You are aware that bird f2 don’t really do any burst dps, right? They are about same dmg as just normal attacking.
Before the smokescale, birds (owl/raven) were the pets with the best (reliable) burst. And i think, they are now the best dps/burst pets again …
Bristleback does more than double the burst of owls and ravens almost 3times actually, of course that is a channeled attack so it’s abit like comparing rapid fire with maul but even so…
dude….I just brought out the bristle in the mists and put 25 stack of might on it. it took a heavy golem down to 10% HP by the end of the cast, lmfao. takes 1.5s with quickness. o.O
Try it with signet of the wild+sic em+25might , I managed to get a 30k spine barrage with that last night on the unkillable golem (dunno what armorclass he counts as) by comparison my raven did 12k on his blinding slash with the same although should be said he also follows that instantly with a 6,5k swoop with those modifiers.
Pre-Smokeskale nerf I was using Bristleback and Smokeskale. I’ve gone back to Jaguar (until I get my Tiger…) with Bristleback still as my on swap.
Bristleback is a lot like a spider but with slightly better AA damage and no immobilize. Their Rain of Spikes can do some really great damage as well.
I’m obviously sad the Smokeskale got nerfed… I was looking forward to trying out Trapper runes with a Warhorn so I could have a ton of stealth but… Bristleback is pretty great still even if it doesn’t have the same kind of fun utility Smokey did.
I always thought the Bristleback was cuter anyway, lol.
Also, I’m sure many others have thought of it already but just incase: remember to use things like Sharpening Stone or Shortbow Crippling Shot the same time you activate Bristlebacks F2 for fast bleed stacks.

There was a thread that we talked about that change to Sic Em in, but it has been lost in the sh&# storm that is AF generation being beyond horrible and yet another nerf.
It is a great bug fix but lets be honest, that is what it is. A fix to a 3 year old bug, not a buff.
Having an on demand smoke field was going to be just amazing, the Smokey was included in every one of my builds because of the on-demand… Sigh.
It’s pretty disheartening when it takes 3 years to fix some bugs on Ranger but always nerfs come so quickly while others are left in the game for ages.

It would have worked just fine before as well. In fact it would have been better imo, you could have kept your Smokey on swap so you could bring him out and get the SA skill, could still use Sic Em as you knew it was coming immediately after swap. You could have used it more as a surprise burst as well, because they would not have been 100% sure that the pet on swap was a Smokey and would SA them at some point in the next 30s.
Before, you could have at least used the F2 in all areas of PvE for skipping, in WvW it would have made co-ordinated Ranger/Druid groups very good, as well as in PvP for stealth openers and clutch moments when you could finish the on demand field for some stealth.
I wasn’t arguing against anything meerly pointing out the change to sic em, since I haven’t heard the faintest whisper from anyone about it I assumed many had missed it and mistsim has said in several threads how his smokescale easily does 8k dmg I thought it worth pointing out 20k is still very easy, I just picked this one (out of the 25 something smokescale threads lol) to post in.
btw raven 12k blinding slash (both hits together) instantly followed by 6,5k swoop with this.

edit: Did the same with bristleback, 2k damage per crit from the barrage F2 that’s 30k damage!!! potentially more on a squishier target if all of them crit lol! (we know what’s gonna happen with this sadly)

I have almost exactly the same build but I was trying a more defensive version with trooper runes and in games with lots of condi I also took evasive purity over windborne I feel it works very well.
Does that only include might and stability or all boons? the 10s duration I mean or will the other boons see any change?
I would love natural stride as the minor but having a daze on all weaponswaps is like mentioned too strong with current ancient seeds increase the icd on seeds however and it should be fine I think.

In my opinion this, also if you pvp I still prefer raven or owl over hawk and eagle as I see the burst of them better than the bleeder birds in most cases you still gain dmg from companions might (might) and will have the bleed as a solid bonus instead.

oh also not to forget some pets attack much faster in the water, all devourers do for instance and that makes no sense either… ¯\(?)/¯
I honestly think it should still work even if the pet is defeated and frankly so should empathic bond you have already suffered enough by losing your class mechanic if they are out of the fight that should be the rangers punishment for letting his pet “die” not that traits all of a sudden stop working.
I don’t know if it was mentioned already but after the update is looks to me as if HaO now is a mirror of Forifying Bond with the added cap of 3might, I would also say I am not sure why they decided to buff it in the first place but what happened now is just rude and leaves a very sour taste, they should have just made it mirror the bond flat out that would be enough I think, it wouldn’t be perma anything but atleast you could stack some solid might with it the way it is now it’s completely useless if you think of it for boonsharing really cause the durations are simply too short, frankly I think the durations should be increased on fortifying bond aswell not much but a few seconds on everything aside from might.
I will play my old variety of ranger builds that I already have fun and success with unless they prove to be totally outclassed by every other new elite build in the game of course.
I will without a doubt play a herald aswell it looks so good to me I wet myself a little everytime I look at it.
I also play an engineer although never really took a big liking to it but it’s fun in small doses, the scrapper looks absurdly OP in some of it’s traits I will definetly have a go at a brutal melee build as they are very fun to play as high dmg but tanky builds I like those types it’s what I have on my warrior too.
(plus all the other classes I have and mainly use to farm platinum with)
All of the skills are almost exactly the same as ranger gs.
In a direct comparison it’s like they redesigned ranger’s gs, made a better version and gave it to a different class.

We used to be the best 1v1 class, pre-traits changes, it was about skill. Post-trait changes are just meh, every thing is so unbalanced and over-buffed to oblivion while ranger got so many nerfs with traits changes, to be honest we had 80% nerfs on ranger and only 20% good things. At the moment ranger has nothing that i didn’t use pre-traits changes, i had even more! What we have now is taunt and quick draw camouflage a huge drastic nerf to ranger a little bit, it’s a fun mechanic but still not worth the nerf that we got.
I rarely ran camouflage (hide in plain site) but I still hate that it was removed. It was a worthless trait for about 3 years and then they finally fixed it so you got stealth instead….. only to remove the trait all together 3 months later.
I mean….. what the actual kitten? I’m still not sure if they just completely forgot about the trait or they were just screwing with us.
I get the feeling they thought ranger had too much stealth and intentionally wanted to remove that by removing this trait and also the change to traps (with trapper runes) wich is strange since they had no problem enhancing mesmer stealth to absurdum…

A bit offtopic, but does RF not track anymore? Ive only done 1 spvp match since last patch in this beta and in the match it doesnt seem to track (once target stealths my RF just shoots in a straight line, and when target reappear it has same/more hp).
If you just shoot straight then you started the RF channel too late, it still will track your target if you start it before he stealthed same as any skill that has begun it’s execution before your target went into stealth.
At first I never liked allies aid for the simple fact I almost always used my wolf to fear while I rez a teammate, with allies aid procing search and rescue it will cancel the howl before it goes off unless you wait wich would be kittened then you might aswell skip trying to rez, however then a thought you can also use it by starting a rez to cast search and rescue and then keep an enemy busy by attacking him yourself with stuns, knockbacks or pure dps pressure while your pet does the reviving, been meaning to do this for a little while now but honestly I never found the moment I could yet.
The build is pretty bad.
It’s goal is to help people back from downed state.
Nothing helps them stay alive, though.So you will basically stay a CC banner at fights trying to get people up, without dealing damage, decapping or any other important mechanic.
At the end of the day, Guardian who will lock all enemies out will definitely stay better protector and objective controller.The game of 500-100 lose was a nice demonstration of how useless the build is. If your team does everything right – there won’t be anyone to revive back up.
While I’m not so sure how useful this build would/won’t be, taking the score of the game to demonstrate it is more than a little flawed thinking especially since the only other player who was not a low level beginner on his team left in the very beginning and they played almost the entire game with 4 people.
I could imagine playing something similar to this and just changing the amulet to still push out high damage aswell as be able to rez teammates very fast when needed.
