Yeah, screw that path. Not worth it in the least.

Huh, I guess you can say you were “ascended” by the kraits…

For zergs:
Just summon your GS, swirl into them, turn around and Fiery Rush, double roll and pop on mist form and you’re good to go. Though, I recommend some bulky stats for this to not be a complete suicide.
Or if you don’t like the daredevil style gameplay, use a staff for CC on enemy, then Meteor shower, then heal. Can be used in conjunction with Tornado for double damage on lingering skills, such as Meteor Shower,
Anything else, just go d/d. Scepter is too single-fight oriented, slow and requires a perfect execution in order to burst, which it does a pretty good job at. Focus doesn’t have the damage you want or need. D/d has alot of AoE useful for group clash and 1on1.
Diamond skin is good to negate alot of the initial AoE damage, thanks to the rise of condition meta, but always (always) have a foot within Arcana/Water. My current build use 0/0/30/20/20, with PVT gear mixed with zerk trinkets.

And then the zerg comes along and crushes hylek, skritt and quaggan in one fell swoop.
NPC roamers won’t last for long against the current mindset of WvW-playing
Alatum Interitum
Did you look behind the curtains?
Alatum Interitum
It seems really random whenever you get credit, though as an Ele I’ve managed to take down 20 doors wih no siege. I just put down a Lava Font and use Arcane wave for 3 stacks of might, then put down a Meteor Shower and pop on the Tornado form for 300 damage per meteor that connects with the gate. Does a fair amount of damage, works around 50% of the time.
Alatum Interitum
The rocket turret utility skill doesn’t need a visual on their target, and can actually arc over walls in WvW, so I think removing the ground targeting for that would remove most of the “fun” of it. Also, Mist Forming eles are no longer completely safe after getting downed outside their tower and fleeing inside the portal.

Legendary Grand High Viscount of Candy Corn and the Labyrinthian Horror…
Never in the history of Tyria has anyone witnessed a more devastating alliance between two zergdestroyers.
Alatum Interitum
Because all the Arcana traits are the very basic traits that an Elementalist needs. All the other trait lines are too focused on their own element, which doesn’t synergize well with the rest of the elements.
Alatum Interitum
Wow.
I managed to get the candy corn down to about 60% once before the Labyrinthian Horror came along and wrecked my face, but I had no idea this was even possible.
Great job!

I’ve had better luck recently, could get a exotic or 2 for the minimum amount of time i play each week thanks to Clockwork Chaos and Pavilion. However, when i first began playing, and played alot more than i do now, it took me 3 months to get my first exotic drop, which was Deathwish from a risen critter in Cursed Shore.

What is this thread even…?
Sylvari grows like fruits on trees like the Pale Tree. There might be other trees in Tyria that does the same. That, or maybe some grow in the ground before being pulled up by shocked farmers mistaking them for their crops of carrots or turnips.
Also, i had to laugh at the friction fire.

Absolute worst skill in the game, hands down. The cooldown is ridiculous, with a 450 radius around you the damage might as well be nonexistant unless you stand completely still, the damage is way too low anyways even if it hits something and all the other racial elites has more utility/does more damage(Charrzooka, Summon Powersuit, etc). Heck, every basic utility in the game is better than this “elite skill”. I know racial elites are supposed to be crippled to avoid favorites, but come on.
If you could choose where to put it as AoE within a 900-1200 radius, increase the AoE of the projectiles and reduce the cooldown to anywhere between 60-90s I could foresee some use in it. That, or give it the knockdown it once had to give melee classes something to play around with, though I suspect some might think this to be too powerful considering the amount of projectiles it casts.
Alatum Interitum
Well, I’m sure it’s in good hands with the aether pirates now.

A wizard wielding a rifle?
Breaking down all the barriers now, are we.
I like the idea of a long range weapon that could give boons and utilities to eles without having to rely mostly on blast finishers, such as the staff and it’s Eruption+Whatever-field-of-choice. I do not, however, see the rifle fit for the role of doing such a thing. The “cultural differences” between staves, sticks and talismans, and complicated technological tools such guns are too big. I could imagine a magician wielding a gun because, to me, magicians could be seen as trickster, leaving their audiences in awe with deception and illusions. And deception, illusion and trickery again could be tied to thievery and thieves, the likes who I could expect to wield a firearm(which is why I find it fitting that mesmers can wield pistols). But a fully fledged wizard, not so much.
On a less serious note, if the devs decide that eles need rifles, I implore them to add a skill to water atunement that shoots a continous stream and adds a soaking visual affect to the foe called Water Gun. And add a super soaker skin. Then I could totally accept the fact that eles use rifles.
Alatum Interitum
Sounds like it’s… random.

7/10, would form a warband with.
Bonfire Cataclysm, the enraged charr elementalist who rains destructive fire upon his foes. He is part of the Blood Legion only as an excuse to be one of the first to kill in a battle.
He also works part-time in a bar. The loot bags from Eternal Battlegrounds don’t pay nearly enough for his malicious spending habits.

The Champion Risen Spider is so stupid right now. It can glue eggs to everyone around it, the eggs hatch Veteran Risen Spider Hatchlings and the scaling gives both champion and veteran an insane health pool and damage. I daresay it’s the strongest enemy in the game right now.
Alatum Interitum
I would love being able to write something atleast more than 2 times before getting suppressed. Makes it a downrigt hassle to look for remaining PUGs to the party if needed.
Alatum Interitum
I would love an “Indiscriminate Slayer” title…

I used to play at least a couple of hours everyday, but I’ve began playing this game very casually. Now, I only play 2 or 3 times a week and rarely over 2 hours each play session. The game isn’t as interesting as it once was, when you could find players in almost every map. It feels like it’s sort of…withering away, almost. The PvP is the only thing that keeps my playing this game, because in WvW or sPvP I can actually interract with people. In PvE, not so much any longer.
Alatum Interitum
The fact that I would’ve never bought this game in the first place if it was subscription based, which I think was the mindset of most customers when they bought GW2 at first, is a pro. Also, unless they constantly keep adding stuff to attract new people, it’s going to become a con for Anet.

Sometimes I get tunnel vision when playing, meaning chat goes by unnoticed for an extended period of time. That might have been the case.
Ofc, people tend to be rather indifferent when playing multiplayer, as well.
Alatum Interitum
I was on the blue team for the majority of the match before being autoswitched to red. When the match ended, I got the win bonus even though the red team lost. Does that mean it counts the match as a victory if you were on the winning side first? And would that also mean it’ll count as a loss if on the losing side first?
Alatum Interitum
We did have that for a while, but the patch fixed it.
Made me kinda sad, as both the nice loot and the amount of people there made it really enjoyable.
Alatum Interitum
People tell you that staff is useless? Run a CoF p1 with them and throw down a Meteor Storm on the effigy. That’ll shut them up.
Alatum Interitum
I have seen my turrets attacking the ground right where I killed a mob and never give up on it. Don’t know what that’s about.
Yes, turrets should target what you’re targeting. I think the community would see a vast improvement of potential DPS from the turrets if they actually attack something relevant.
Also, static objects should NEVER be a priority, despite the proximity of it. Enemies should always come first.
Alatum Interitum
As is, both flame and rifle turret is severly useless compared to all the other turrets, so a damage boost and speed boost for those would be very nice, especially due to the fact most people cut right through them.
As for the abilities always being active, that would be impossible, because never before has a class been more fearful than a rifled engineer with net turret, thumper turret and rocket turret. That’s three immobilizes, one stun and potenitally 3 knockdowns(rocket fires off 2 when overcharged). If deployed tactically, that’s going to be the closest you get to infinte CC.
Also, with the exploding turret trait, both flame turret and healing turret can create and instantly use combofields when overcharged, giving stealth and healing respectively. Those also cause knockdowns, as well.
IMO, cooldowns should start the moment you throw down a turret, meaning if your opponent takes too long destroying it, you could instantly throw it down again after their initial cooldown.
EDIT: I forgot to add the Overcharged shot to my list of potential CC’s. So make that 3 immobilizes, 1 stun and 4 knockdowns.

Hey now, pink is the manliest of colours.
Anyway, I shouldn’t have to mention colours aren’t the defining factor of preferences between genders. Now, why they won’t let you buy the pink one at all I cannot fathom.
Alatum Interitum
Well, that was…anticlimactic.
I hope more treasure hunts similar like are added. Was definitely very exciting.

Turret build: because turrets don’t care if thieves aren’t rendered in.
Rifle+Net turret+Rocket turret+Stomper turret = infinite CC

Oh man, the flamethrower…
Gonna have to go back to kits to test this one out. I see some massive damage potential with the detonating flame blast.

After a long time of messing around with daggers to see if they worked, I tried out this combo and was quite dissapointed by the lack of survivability and damage. Then i tried out the staff.
It felt like something just clicked inside my head. I hit like a truck, going from about 600-800 dmg up to 1200-1400 dmg just from the fire attunement autoattack. Once I had built up a respectable amount of might(12-15 stacks) a single hit from a Meteor shower would crit for 4800 on enemies. I could actually stand a chance 1on1 in sPvP and I would actually avoid siege weapons because my meteors and lava fonts did so much more damage.
I shudder to think about what would happen if i went Berserker gear…
Alatum Interitum
I might actually be able to hit something that isnt crippled with Stoning now!
I approve.

I decided to farm the air eles for the first time in Orr to see what that would yield me.
I got 2 lodestones within the first 40 minutes, listed them for about 3g each and went to bed because it was getting late. I was quite suprised, as the only thing even close to that used to be 2g per hour.
Alatum Interitum
This is how I’ve been using them all along. Basically, if your enemy doesn’t have stability, they’re utterly screwed. A turret based engineer is the best 1v1 class there is in the game, as you could basically glue the enemy to one spot until their death.
Took me a while before I understood why everyone were complaining about them, and even so they really aren’t as bad as people try to make them out to be. Though, the glitches just about wreck them.

Okay, managed with the help of another warrior. Still, when we hit the rotten fish, everything within the labyrinth went straight for us. This didn’t only happen inside the labyrinth, but also outside. If i were to hit a fish, all risen within a substantial radius would charge me, whereas hitting the risen themselves would not.
Thanks heavens for jolly co-operation.
Alatum Interitum
The spy kit sounds like an ingenious plan, hatched by the smartest and most well-educated people in all of Tyria!
Would try it out, but as of yet the area where you can get those is unexplored by me so far. I might just dash to it and get it, though. I’ll see when I’m well rested.
In the meantime, keep up the suggestions, it might help other players just as much as it already has to me
Alatum Interitum
I have tried 4 times now to get this one, and have been nowhere near successful. It seems whenever I hit one of those rotten fish, every single enemy inside the labyrinth, giant, ravager and subjegator alike, pathfind to me and kill me(I would go so far to say that this is a glitch). Now, if i don’t hit the fish, I stand against two subjegators, one veteran, and the spectral guard itself, which wouldn’t be so bad if the fish didn’t spew it’s juice all over the ground, pulsating damage and poison on me.
I am an staff elementalist, relying mostly on dealing damge, but not a full out glass cannon(30/0/10/10/20). I can summon two earth elementals, both of which die together with me within 6 seconds. Nobody is interested in helping me, and most of my guild is asleep. Which makes me wonder, how do you go about soloing this skillpoint? Honestly, I could probably wait until morning when it dawns across more timezones, but I’m curious if you have any idea as how to solo this?
Thanks in advance.
Alatum Interitum
You know, I’ve got 6 slots all filled up with characters, but only two of them are lvled up to 80. Guess which ones?
The Engineer and Elementalist. Well, shoot.
Also, the ones that compare engies to rangers befuddles me. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I first tried out the ranger in sPvP after having used my engie almost exclusively for several months before deciding to switch things up.

Fire sigil is very good because of mob AI grouping up when you kite them. Deals out a fair bit of damage, especially if traited for crits so I suggest going with fire. The Energy sigil isn’t really needed, as rangers has the trait Natural Vigor in Wilderness Survival, which ups your stamina regen by 50%. Only costs 5 trait points, as well. Combining both Energy sigil and the trait might make you a giant pain to hit, though, so if dodging’s your playstyle, maybe try out those two?
Alatum Interitum
Or they could make uniqe models tied exclusively to the Asura. Kinda like the turrets for Sylvari engineers.
Alatum Interitum
sPvP experiences are the only thing I have to share here.
I was near darn shocked when I first tried out the ranger in sPvP. Adding 20 points in all Marksmanship, Skirmishing, Wilderness Survival, then 10 in Beastmaster and using every trait within those that benefited the pet, I dealt out a ton of damage in conjunction with a feline crit pet while still being very sturdy since noone even thinks about killing the pet first. Quickening Zephyr and Rampage As One, dear lord.
Shortbow is quick and adds bleed, Longbow is powerful at long ranges, both have an interrupt and both are ranged. Meele weapons have low damage output and require you to get in thier faces, though alot of evades and blocks which is nice. Axe, I haven’t tried out yet.
Very effective 1v1 and in groups, as you can just send in the pet and stay back yourself. My favorite PvP class, Guardian tied very closely.
