I once had a dog named sparky who liked to bark all the time. For some reason I ended up making this stupid nickname of “spacky” who liked to “back” (created by taking out the R’s) Simplify the spelling and change the B to a P is how I got SpakPak
Me and my right hand have had some pretty good times on GW2 as well
Playing water staff Elementalist, I feel very much like a dedicated healer.
Your first, basic spell heals allies that are in it’s radius (It is a damage spell but the splash heals)
Your third and fifth skills are both AOE heals, with the fifth being more powerful and with a wider range
Your other two skills are also very support oriented, so basically you can be healing/supporting the whole time
After Skritt are released
Oboy this is going to become the kind of thread where there are four pages of paragraph long replies
A piece of kitten called Logan Thackeray
How about a class that can shapeshift, kind of like a wow Druid. Depending on what type of weapon you use you take on a different form. For example, having two daggers might be a panther and a greatsword would be a bear. I realize it is similar to Norn ult forms, but it would still be a cool idea
Logan Thackeray runs away so fast, even Usain Bolt can’t catch him!
Because this is a video game, not porn
I guess all the people that used to play took Slyder’s advice
Can I have the link to the article please?
first person view.
That would be so amazing! If they added that I would take a kitten in the Mists of Pandaria box and send it back to where it came from
I didn’t even know there were emotes other than /laugh and /dance
What is the difference between 10 copper and Logan Thackeray?
A: 10 copper is actually worth something
What is the difference between a rabbit and Logan Thackeray?
-A rabbit can sometimes survive a level 3 zone

The game is doing very well:
Guys, get over it, GW2 is already a huge success. The population is high, the game is popular, it’s the best MMO out there and it’s still growing.
But please, feel free to continue doomsaying since it keeps you here and enjoying yourself xD
I have seen this exact quote so many times over the years except replace GW2 with any other MMO of your choice
Aren’t there at least a hundred posts about this already?
Warlock… I mean Necro
Everyone has different taste.
Imo, Guild Wars 2 is the 3rd best among the f2p/b2p mmorpgs I played.1st – Granado Espada (The least grind, best pvp/gvg and endless carrots.)
2nd – Dragon Nest (Epic combat system.)
3rd – Guild Wars 2 (Good graphics, limited carrots, unappreciated reward system.)
4th – Maple Story (The worst grind, addictive.)Guild Wars 2 doesn’t feel like a full mmorpg. It lacks in the psychology and human behaviour department. It excels in ‘NPC-player’ interactions but doesn’t have that “world” that led players to make ‘players-players’ chapters and memories.
Guild Wars 2 seems to be moving on to a whole new genre in-between action games (mario, tomb raider) and console rpgs (DA, skyrim) into multi-player setting.
Many late-2000s developers these days think mmorpg is just a ps3/xbox console rpg with multi-player options. That’s where new mmorpgs became very flawed in filling human needs and behaviours that’s needs to run that “virtual world” interaction system.
LOL, what the kitten have u been smoking. Listen, I am not a huge GW2 fan, but you can not possibly put Granado Espada and Dragon nest up there. I mean, granado has zero customization, all armor looks the same, pic a char at beginning and that’s it. Dragon Nest with it’s gender locks is not much better.
Honestly, I think the game could be dying, slowly but surely, and Anet is going to have to do some Major changes. At first all the new features seemed like the greatest things ever, new, fresh, innovative. But people are starting to see all the major faults of this game (Lack of depth in dungeons due to removal of trinity, poor endgame, etc.) OF course I may be wrong, I am sure many will disagree with me
I’m really enjoying my personal story and dont even mind questing… Which is amazing considering I absolutely hated questing in WoW lol.
Well, that’s because it’s not really questing. It’s not talk to NPC, go do specific boring stuff, and go all the way back to the NPC, which is probably what you hated.
Cheers.
Cut out the parts about NPC’s and you get what GW2 leveling is; Do specific boring stuff.
Step 1: Post this exact topic in wow forums
Step 2: Observe biggest flame war ever
Step 3: Laugh at how kitten people can be
Step 4: repeat
One of the skills for elementalist is called “Ride the Lightning.” It is a refference to the Metallica song of the same name
I can understand ground mounts, and though waypoints sort of defeat the purpose of everything I’m about to say, flying mounts won’t happen.
What flying mounts did to WoW was take away the sense of scale. Gw2 has a wonderfully crafted world, however ugly the map is. Flying above it sort of defeats the point of exploration.
Ground mounts, perhaps some day. WvW needs something in that regard. Perhaps a trade off, if mounted you cannot carry supplies.
as long as you don’t go to high, you can still get a good sense of exploration, IMO.
cool story bro.
15chars
omg, you posted cool story bro, how original and witty. I am just so kitten right now
If you had explained your reasoning with backup links, theory’s, etc. that would be one thing. But to make a thread with a couple sentences saying if you want a trinity then gtfo, well, thats a cool story bro.
Didn’t really feel like doing that, this is mainly my opinion.
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I have noticed these threads popping up every so often, “we need a holy trinity, game is boring without it, etc.” People need to realize that Gw2 was designed specifically not to have this system! Asking for a trinity for gw2 is like asking for mining/ gathering in a FPS game. If you feel like you cannot live without a trinity, maybe GW2 is just not right for you.
“Slower” is relative… you may get a bit less XP per event, but it makes sense, since you are also much more powerful and kill stuff way faster in compensation. At the end the XP/time ratio is the same.
For instance, doing a 50.000 XP event in 10 minutes is the same than doing 2 25.000 XP events in 5 minutes each… and the XP reduction in GW2 is way less harsh than my example.sorry, I am confused. what does this have to with crafting?
Good question… are you confused about your own post?
You said “I felt that doing level 15-25 zones at lvl 35 was a lot slower than doing ones my level…”, and I was answering to that…
Oh, I thought you were responding to my part about crafting. truly, my bad.
You can all stop posting… I won!
He is now away, installing 8 different MMOs to see if he can find the said class combo.
you only need 2 MMO’s to do that
Although there is no trinity, you can’t expect all classes to be equal in everything
There will never be mounts, that I am pretty sure of!
Question: does the game continue to count hours playing while you are afk?
The game can tell if you’re afk because it kicks afk people out of WvW, so does it count the hours we played when afk?
that’s a good question, I spend so much time AFK while checking facebook and kitten

I believe the correct term is “low FPS”
So instead of answering my question you decide to be a smart kitten prick?
Great.
I just offer a little insight and you decide to swear at me, while claiming that the community is vile? if anything makes the community vile, it would be you.
PvP gives XP – a couple of people in my guild leveled almost only with World vs World.
And if you think about it, GW2 already gives way more “freedom” to level than most if not all other MMORPGs on the market… you can of course do hearts/events, but you can also, as mentioned, do WvW PvP, or you can just craft your way to 80 (you can get to 80 with only crafting if you really want). And you are not restricted to zones of your precise level, but you can go back to any lower level zone you never did and get rewarded appropriately to your real level too. What other “theme park” MMO offers that? I’ve been playing through “Pandaria” lately and hell, how boring it is, you’re on rails, no choice, no variations… in GW2, I can go where I want to level.
Sorry, I should have been specific, as I meant sPVP, not WvW, my bad. I once tried to level purely through crafting, and I found it incredibly slow going, not to mention boring. I quickly returned to doing hearts after that. Also, I thought that the XP from doing hearts was directly related to the level of the heart? I felt that doing level 15-25 zones at lvl 35 was a lot slower than doing ones my level…
I believe the correct term is “low FPS”
My feelings is that they have to rush in “fluff” activities other MMOs have too – fishing, housing, etc… – the game for now is almost only centered on combat. ANet must not underestimate how much those “fluff” non combat activities keep players busy – and housing for instance is a good opportunity to sell some juicy wanted stuff in the gem store too for the game’s income.
What I want is that when I log into GW2, I ask myself “what the hell am I going to do? I have so many choices, and all are viable and fun!”.
And I hope ANet will give up wanting to become another tiered gear game, and that ascended gear will become widely available without having to farm the same single dungeon.
The ball is in your camp now, developers. Good luck, and a happy new year to you all.
Agree with the fluff part, but I think Anet should also add different ways of leveling, right now doing hearts seems to be the only viable option, It would be cool if more dungeons were added and PVP gave XP.
On my own note, I seriously think that it would be wise to have some kind of expansion in 2013. From my experience in WOW, an expansion stimulates the game a lot by causing players to play more, bringing people back to the game, and getting publicity for the game itself.
I would like to see a ninja class. One that throws shoryukens and does that one spin drop move ryu hayabusa does in Dead or alive fighting game. Also use nunchucks for weapon..ya know lots of back flips too
we already have a ninja class, thief. Think of it as a western version of a ninja
What about, Warrior? they seem OP as well…
Char Female Engineer, because seriously, how often are you going to see one of those?
Ah so that is what kitten does
kitten kitten
this is the worst part about GW2 IMO, armor looks the same
Next step, log 1000 hours doing stuff IRL…
But seriously, good work. I think I am at around 100 lol
It’s called “End of the world”
only problem is there are no Mayans in Tyria
Class: Admin
Type: Every type
Weapons: Everything (doesn’t matter though, see below)General idea:
-1 to instantly kill something no matter what level/state/buff/skill it’s using.
-2 to instantly AOE kill everything no matter what level/state/buff/skill they are using.
-3 teleports you anywhere.
-4 automatically completes the Renown Quests.
-5 automatically completes Dynamic Event.
-Heal: Heal everyone in the Map 100% and clear all conditions. For every condition removed, players get 100% MF to promote more grinding. Only works in level 80 zones, cause honestly, who cares about the others areas. Stacks.
-Utility 1: Add all type of buffs to everyone in Map. Infinite duration.
-Utility 2: Buff X Class (Every week a new class. is chosen)
-Utility 3: Nerf Y Class (Randomly picks a class that’s not X).
-Elite: Places a new build of the game forcing everyone to restart. For every player that restarts their client, Admin class gains 1 gold. The only downside, is this class doesn’t have any Traits.
I’m re-subbing to WoW =)
Same here bro, I came back to wow and feels so much better, I’m sorry GW2, you are a much better game I just love WOW so much I don’t know why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Class Name: Trollmancer
Class Type: Adventurer (Medium) or Scholar (Light) not sure about this yet
Weapons of choice: Magnets, Cleverness
General gist/ miscellaneous:
The Trollmancer is a support-type class that uses Magnets and the Art of Trolling in order to confuse, annoy and fustrate opponents.
Sample Abilities
Magnetism: uses a magnet to pull enemies toward you, when used again it will push them away
u mad bro? The trollmancer insults a enemy causing it to charge at the troll with reduced movement speed for 10 seconds
Ragequit the trollmancer annoys an enemy so much that they ragequit for 5 seconds. While rage-quitted enemies cannot move, attack, or use abilities
This was why I had a feeling GW2 would fail in the long run
I just don’t like it when people can have an advantage in a game by paying money, even if it is a tiny one. I actually prefer paying money to support a system that does not allow these advantages. Yes, I know my logic is seriously kittened up
