My beef with you aside, surge of the mists is broken. Hundred blades worth of damage in like a 1 sec cast is stupid. They did nerf it already though so we’ll see.

Zojoel, king of garbage necros, enlightening the community with his wisdom. And then there is booms on his crusade to nerf revenant based on changing his team comp. Maybe condi reaper and DH need buffs. They’re clearly under-performing compared to revenant.

Counterplay has been posted time and time again and people still whine. It’s sad really. Look at the class as a whole instead of at just one skill. Moreover, you admit to beating revenants no problem. That just makes me lol.

Also, no evade frames on unrelenting assault? This was how the skill was initially in beta. Guess what? It was a suicide button every time.

It would be nice if they actually fixed stuff like it randomly cancelling, especially if an opponent is right by a wall. You’re relying on your evade frames to survive and find yourself dead because the skill randomly canceled itself.

But it is counterable…all you have to do is stow-weapon. It isn’t rocket science. The revenant can use his brain and pop the heal inside an aoe that’s already down but then he’ll only heal for that much if his opponent plays properly.

Condis still absolutely wreck revenant and infuse the light is one of the FEW ways revenant can deal with them. Mallyx is kitten -near not worth taking and then you have to take the whole corruption traitline just to get resistance from that legend’s skills. Resistance removed? Well you’re just shot out of luck.

sad fact is anet will nvr reverse a nerf and instead find some other overly complex way to compensate that just causes more problems.

This has been proven to be not true, so keep the feedback going. Astral force was nerfed to degenerate immediately outside of combat and it was un-nerfed recently so that it doesn’t degenerate.

Jalis can work in pve yes, it can work in pvp too. But the think is that he can clearly do better. He absolutly not have the tanky vibe he must have. Even with the nerf Glint is staying more tanky than him. Jalis need, and can be improved.

He’s not tanky per-se, but he can give your whole group 50% damage reduction and avenging hammers offers some damage and quite a bit of sustain when hitting multiple mobs (or even one).

You missed a few key differences between Infused Light and Defiance stance.

1) Infuse Light has no cast time. Defiant stance has a 1/4 second cast time meaning it can be interrupted.

2) While both skills have the same base heal (defiance stances entire heal) Infuse Light turns all incoming damage (including condi damage form already applied condis) into healing. So you can pop Infuse Light, stand in a painful aoe and instantly be back at full health. This makes it the most powerful PvE healing skill in the game.

3) Infuse Light is the active ability of a Facet meaning it has an upkeep passive 5 player regen making it more versatile.

4) Infuse Light is one of two different heal skills the class will have available in the fight rather than Defiance stance being the only one the warrior gets.

So not only is Infuse Light more versatile and more powerful, us Revenants also have another heal we can fall back on. We should be glad a 1 second duration nerf was the only change.

-A player with offer 50 hours of Revenant play between betas and the 4 days since launch.

So logic dictates that we nerf Revenant’s infuse the light to defiant stance level because that skill is useful, right? Just about no one uses defiant stance and I’m all for buffing it, not nerfing infuse the light down to the level of trash that defiant stance currently is.

That aside if you’re talking about pve healing, warriors may not have the best healing, but they have some of the best damage mitigation through endure pain/defy pain for sustaining mind-boggling amounts of damage. Then there is berserker stance and on demand resistance for condis from healing signet. And if we’re going into healing, well healing signet will keep you up for quite a while with its passive heal.

Yeah. I’m rather happy, it seems that, with this nerf, people are seeing that actually the two viable legends on the five are just shiro and glint and that, over those two legends, revenant has barelly nothing.

That’s a rather convoluted way of thinking. Nerf the only two legends that are viable in pvp so that we can see the other legends aren’t good?

That aside, I just wanted to mention that jalis is quite good in pve.

Edit: The phase traversal nerf seems okay, aside from the cd being severely affected by chill. Infiltrator’s arrow is infinitely more flexible as it is a skill shot/can be used twice but we’re not thieves.

I’m just really upset about the infuse the light nerf and lack of bug fixes. Infuse the light requires you to just stop attacking. It isn’t hard when you start seeing green numbers pop up. If there is aoe on the ground, infuse the light can take advantage of it but that’s the whole point since the base heal on it is so weak.

Shield changes/soothing bastion/surge of the mists change are completely ok.

IO (Impossible odds) + Vengeful hammer are impossible to cancel during the cast of unrelenting assault and phase smash. This feels very clunky and often wastes a significant amount of energy.

I imagine this is the case with some other skills but I haven’t tested them all. Please fix this so that revenants can cancel these upkeep skills during the animation of unrelenting assault/phase smash.

I don’t agree with most of these, but I can respect your opinion. The one i do agree on the ranking of is berserker.

I’d say that tiers are something like this for solo que.
Tier 1: Scrapper
Tier 2: Herald, dragonhunter, chrono
Tier 3: daredevil, reaper, druid
Tier 4: berserker

Reaper jumps up substantially with proper group support. The other specs do so as well in the right comp. Then there are also core specs i won’t get into.

Anyways that’s just my opinion off of a bit of pvp. Oh yeah and tempest falls somewhere in there. Probably tier 2.5.

I’m having success with it in pvp. Haven’t done any wvw or pve with it. You can grab arms or strength and signet of might for an extremely yolo build. Sorry if my setup doesn’t suit your playstyle.

There are numerous things in this build to prevent you from insta-downing if you use them right. Shield stance, double endure pain, zerker stance and healing signet resistance are some to name a few. Not instantly dying to burst allows you to continue gun flaming. Downed state doesn’t burst.

Abilities:
- all ranger skills take 1s more to activate as the pet asks you if you really want to use this “basically useless skill”.
- ranger gets fury on swapping to weapon X, aggravated by the pet telling him “You know, class Y has a better skillset for X, you should reroll”.
- ranger healing skill is disabled, replaced by a pet voiceover: “what’s the point? better let them kill you and log a useful class.”
- on entering a dungeon, the pet proposes a vote to kick the ranger.
- when an ANet tagged character is in range, ranger and pet gain stealth and chat functionalities are disabled.
- when ordering the pet, 50% chance of the pet refusing the order, being too busy complaining on the forum.

Brilliant. This just made my day.

Am i the only one who would much rather keep the defiance bar on crystal hibernation and just fix the amount soft ccs chunk off of it? I feel like it is WAY stronger than a block that can be interrupted by any unblockable daze or even fear mark.

The only stab that i can think of that rev could use to cover crystal hibernation would be the stability road from jalis and that combo is a hefty energy sink.

Necromancers can easily keep up permanent weakness on their target through the use of signets of suffering/poc and the curses gm trait on any class that is unfortunate enough to have might on it.

It can be quite infuriating to play against unless you’re lucky and have access to zerker stance, resistance, or condi clear en masse.

The only things in this game that rival that kind of ridiculous burst are rampage, killshot with might and or vuln on target, fresh air ele and maybe a signet might thief. The difference is the thief is dedicating all of his cooldowns for that sort of instagib, and fresh air eles don’t have the luxury of mesmer defenses. They’re also harder to play.

Rampage is extremely broken and anyone defending it just likes being OP. The combination of quickness, peak performance, the 20% burst damage trait and berserker stance put it way out of line. I think if they want to keep it as is, at the very least the duration should be significantly reduced.

No. I’d agree to this maybe if they removed weakness from the game, but at the moment power builds have nothing that shuts down condi damage like weakness shuts down zerker damage. Resistance is awesome and should remain as is. The fact that it allows getting out of hard ccs is just a bonus.

Thing is, at the moment there are very few skills in the game that grant resistance. If I’m not mistaken, one is healing signet which is a 1.25 sec cast time AKA interruptable, and it also has a huge trade-off in casting it in that warriors lose their passive heal.

The other source of resistance at the moment is a trait for mesmer glamours granting it. That one has a bit less counterplay, but it’s a short resistance duration and it requires the use of a trait.

+1. It is more fun. Having resistance be more widespread would be good as an answer to the insane burning damage. Knowing I can pop my healing signet to surpress a huge condi burst is pretty awesome.

I wouldn’t change how bursty the meta is though. I like the fast pace.

It’s not a “burst meta” at all. Right now everybody is still experimenting with builds, and yes, there is a lot of damage going around. You would describe intelligent play as dodging high bursts… Why not play intelligently and dodge/avoid high damage burst then?

I went over this you cant dodge while stunned or when they are in stealth that is prediction and not skill. Also the most problematic skills aren’t the ones you can dodge but the instant effect ones like Mantra of disruption when it stuns.

Mantra of Distraction. And of course it should be instant, how the hell are you supposed to interrupt 3/4 let alone 1/4 sec casts with a skill solely intended to interrupt if it’s not instant.

Rather than gutting mesmer for everybody else people like you should be arguing for the berzerker amulets to be nerfed. Just reduce crit damage in spvp to something like 25% crit damage bonus cap and the burst will come down.

Yeah no. Let’s not ruin the game because someone can’t hit a guy with like 11k hp. The new zerker amulet is awesome. Run marauder if you die too easily and still want plenty of damage. Adjust your playstyle. Many people who played in the zerker vs condi meta becore cele bs are having a blast right now.
