You can play a PU build offensively, but it helps to drop the 20 pts in domination imo. Ether sig is fantastic for PU or Phant mes.
I can think of three easy counters:
- Ignore them. PU, like many thieves, are a solo build. But most PU Mesmers have no way to catch you reliably, so if you just run past them they look silly and you do something useful instead.

But really, like any 1v1 centric build, ignoring them is the most deadly counter. They aren’t helping take anything, they aren’t even making a dent in groups, they’re just praying on lone stragglers who stop to fight them.

Exactly. It is mind boggling how people seem to think AP hunters are all “PvE heroes.” There is a significant amount of AP’s tied to all aspects of the game and AP hunters dabble in everything equally. If they were to stick solely to PvE, I guarantee they would not be in the top 100.
PvPers see anything outside of pvp as PvE. WvW is included. You are willing to do PvE stuffs for AP, thusly you are a PvE hero.

For pvp maybe sigil of frailty, and use the pts from air for survivability in arcana/water. Bleed/burn/vuln/cripple on auto is still pretty stronk.
As i’ve been saying for weeks now, Elemental Attunement is a class-defining trait. A caster-only version of it should be baseline, then you can have a 20pt trait for the AOE version.
Ding Ding. The trait should also increase the duration of the buffs, but this would be perfect.
Also, kitten celerity needs to be 5 pts again >.<
The only bug I find more annoying is when you remain immob after immob has been cleared.
Just remove the cost in pvp like all other skills. Why create problems like this for zero benefit?

Ive seen a warrior tanking the whole pvp team with chieftain mob in forest map and his hp never went down from full
Most of the team must have been hitting the mob. I play both shout bunker war (3500ac) and banner bunker war (~4k ac), that much deeps is well beyond the limits of our regen/armor.
Really though, just give us a 2-80 tome. My carpal tunnel cannot deal.

People will complain about anything and everything. Sometimes I roll full shout/regen war. People complain about OP healing sig, but keep in mind that build has something like 650 condi kitten’s heavily reliant on might stacks and has only two damaging condi’s in the typical build. It’s an okay bunker for not having stability. How is this overpowered? Because you can’t facerollolol them down easily in hj zerg?
Other times I play full glass ele. Personally, I think chaining 5-9k crits on disabled enemies is more cheez than regening 400hp/sec or w/e, but I guess it’s more frustrating to not be able to kill someone than to be killed? idk.
For something different, try 20/0/20/30/0. Very tanky and applies every damaging condition:
Distracting strikes for confusion on interrupt.
Runes of the guardian for burn on block.
Sigils of doom for poison on swap.
Sword/sword + Mace/shield for 3 blocks, 3 interrupts
Banner traits for max regen.
Cool points for not running hambow or standard bunker.

Used to laugh at staff ele, but rolled one up today and went fire, 4.6k fireball in spvp… I think I’ll tough it out and learn how to survive o.O
Yeah, I realize this would be difficult to actually implement/balance, but man it would be fun to run a pistol/focus war lol

Some kind of grouping/sorting option, or even the ability to add a note/comment in the friends list would be great. I have a ton of ppl on my list that I can’t remember where I met or what kinds of things they might want to group for.
I love that we can buy large bags with honor in PvP. Like a lot of pvpers, my inv if full of multiple armor sets, runes, sigils, weaps etc etc. It’s a real chore to keep the stuff I’m using/swapping separate from all the other misc. gear/items that ends up in my inventory.
It would be great if we could buy bags that would place pvp gear/items there first. I’d also like an “invisible” pvp equipment box where pvp items placed in it would not be deposited or moved when sorted.

The new scoring rewards bunkers. Everyone on the team gets the same honor/glory for the win/loss. So now it really doesn’t benefit ppl much to go chase a bunch of kills. Bunkers win games, don’t worry if your personal score is low.
Sure, I’d run 2 shout bunker wars, 2 shout guards and 1 shout zerker war. That would be pretty hilarious.

I typically don’t run any axe traits. However, I use shouts and stack might. Interesting things happen with evis at over 2500 power
Yes, axe/shield seems the natural combo for evis setup and unsuspecting foe. However, Evis really doesn’t need any setup imo. If you build right, you should have plenty of adren to pop it practically every (5s) weap swap. If it misses, I figure I’m still getting adrenal healing and can just swap/burst with my other weap. That means you really aren’t tied to shield OH.
So, I suggest a more… laid back approach to axe. It’s okay if you miss evis or your triple chop, it’s NOT okay for your enemy to miss their dodge

Domination XII – Confounding Suggestions. Changed to increase daze duration by 25%.
—This could make for some new interrupt builds. Good good, but if these builds are strong the QQ will probably get it nerfed.
Dueling VI – Protected Mantras. Moved to Master Tier. Increase Toughness from 400 to 600.
—Personally, I cannot stand the feel/playstyle of mantras. This should have just been combined with Mantra mastery.
Dueling VII – Mantra Mastery. Moved to Adept Tier.
—Oh boy, another mantra trait in my prec/crit trait line… see above.
Chaos 25 – Chaotic Transference. Increased conversion from 5% to 10%.
—Few more condi damage, not a big deal but nice.
Chaos I – Chaotic Revival. Reduced cooldown from 35s to 10s.
— With all the other great stuff in chaos, I have no idea why anyone would take this, unless they greatly increased the duration of the chaos armor this applies.
Chaos VII – Mirror of Anguish. Reduced cooldown from 90s to 60s.
—Would have to be in the 30-45sec realm for me to consider. Would rather have bountiful interruption, chaotic dampening, etc.
Inspiration IV – Mender’s Purity. Now removes 2 conditions.
—Good if your build has any pts in this trait line.
Inspiration XI – Shattered Conditions. Increased radius from 240 to 600.
—TBH I can’t believe they ever thought 240 was okay.
Illusions VI – Illusionary Invigoration. Recharge reduced from 90s to 60s. Moved to Master Tier.

Illusions VIII – Dazzling Galmours. Moved to Adept Tier.
—Hey, cool. Now you can get this with blinding befuddlement and still pickup Illusionary Persona. This is how it always should have been.

—yay, back where it belongs. This hasn’t been viable for might stacking builds for some time, so it’s good to put it in GM so the only ppl who get it would have gotten it anyway with Illusionary Persona.
Illusions 25 – Illusionist’s Celerity – Moved to Master tier.
—This is where they should have moved it instead of GM to begin with. 5 was cheap and 25 made many builds impossible.
So from my pov, not much changed unless you’re jumping on the mantra bandwagon. Still nerfed from where we were before the first celerity move to GM.
What kills me is they already have the “choose your reward” mechanic… why don’t they use it for stuff like this?
Just press you distortion skill, you have it always available even if your stunbreak is on CD.
Chaos storm awards you with almost perma aegis while the storm is in place.

Why are people so in love with deathmatch? It’s incredibly one dimensional. I do want more game modes, but this isn’t one of them. Capture the flag, siege/defend, more hybrid capture/domination maps all would be great. The closed thing I want in terms of deathmatch is a way for ppl to have casual duels without going to a spvp room.
Play PvE. It’s easier to get skins that way. All skins. Without waiting for rank or farming for it and spoiling pvp too.

The sad part is that Dec 11 the forums will be full of a whole new batch of nerf threads featuring some other class or mechanic and the cycle will continue because as long as someone doesn’t want to learn how to deal with a build, except that hes being countered, except that he just needs to improve(who doesn’t need to improve?) or that he screwed up the river of tears will continue to flow.

Autobal very rarely prevents stacking. Just spectate, wait for autobal again and get back on the winning team. That’s how servers die right now. Everyone trying to game the autobal or stack at the beginning and you end up with a full server and 15 spectating a 3v2.
Imo it would be silly to add a gold reward because PvP is a different game to PvE and Wvw essentially. There is no use for gold in PvP because everything is brought with glory.
No, I want some gold from time to time to buy skins which aren’t avail in pvp with glory/rank/tourneys. I would rather they just add those skins to pvp somehow, though.
