there are already two different threads about this. /thread

Cool, when you put your moderator cap on could you merge them?
I wonder if being able to privately nickname accounts is a good idea. There are some people who post that I don’t immediately recognize or I read what they have to say, check the name and go, “oh, it’s him”.
If I have the nickname “left months ago” or “always bad mouths” on a name, at least I’ll be braced for whatever foolishness that they are going to say.
I would like that. Better would be the ability to have posts compressed for players you have on a list. I think several twenty page threads would be reduced to two pages with this method.
Cobalt, use as skin,
Entropy probably the same,
Sunless is good for condi builds
Angchu not sure.
You can ‘make’ a precursor exactly the same way you could ‘make’ a precursor before HoT was released. Craft weapon of choice either rare or exotic and throw it into the Mystic Forge. Odds are not huge but no one is stopping you. The crafting option you get with HoT is frankly long, expensive and you are still better off crafting 3 or 4 ascended weapons of choice with different stats and using them, the legendary skins are very much a personal taste type thing.
A question for those who use their middle name instead of forename:
When did you decide/was it decided to use your middle name? Is there a reason why?
I ask because I despise my first name of Christopher, and at age 18 I tried to get people to use my middle name of Simon. My parents completely agreed, had no issue with it, but noone ever remembered so I finally dropped it and went back to Chris.
I was thinking of actually changing my name legally to a chosen forename, and changing my surname from White to its ancestral Waskaelis (I’d need to find a definitive correct spelling first) because I hate my forename so much, just wondered how quickly people adapt, or if they ever do.
I use my middle name because shortly after I was born my parents decided that they didn’t like my first name as much. Now I know that anyone calling using my first name is a salesman and makes life easier.
You can trade with others, it is just not supported by the game. If you or they scam action will be taken but no gold or goods will be recovered. You also can’t use LFG which is good and can’t spam chat which is good. Overall can’t see a downside with the system in place now.
GW2 was doing the same thing prior to release. Find examples of companies that have a released product.
Many posts clarifying you can get a refund. Look around.
Strategies like not looking for ez mode and go out and level.

Doesn’t count because it is not symmetrical?
@Daemonne They have said chests are not affected by MF.
Frankly they just need to say “Hi, we really hope you like the expansion Friday.”
Forums filled with how horrible they are to wish us anything when etc etc etc.
Third reason is that balance is elite vs elite vs base rather than elite/elite vs elite/elite vs base. Makes life slightly easier for everyone.
Strange, I read ‘In GW1’ and stop reading posts now.
Shame. Not all threads that say that are bashing. Some are honestly curious on why things moved away from how they were in GW1. Not that they were necessarily better in GW1, mind you.
But you can’t learn anything or have any decent discussion if you just plug your ears when people bring up GW1. Same as we can’t when people bring up things in any other MMO or game in which could improve GW2.
Not really a shame, just the ‘GW1 was the best game ever, and GW2 sucks’ crowd have really turned me off anyone who writes ‘in GW1’ now. Interesting they always write was since GW1 is still a playable game. I also did not see anything that lead to creative discussion in your OP.

Hate to break it to you but the world is round.
Why would they double the way to get gliding? You get it easily enough when you start the HoT maps.
download has been happening for months now. They will flip it to live, prob no download or a minor one.
math wise price/use no it is not. Convenience wise I have 3 full sets and a extra sythe just because.
Occasionally someone posts about this, not often. The limit is due to people using stolen payment systems etc, takes time to clear with the credit companies. What do you need to buy within 4 days of purchase that will completely change your enjoyment of the game? An experienced player could level a couple of characters to 80 the long way around but for a new player (myself for example) they are not out of the starter zones. Even with using the lvl 80 boost if you jump in cold to lvl 80 content you will get frustrated (many posts about this) and need to go back to learn what works in this game anyway.
Find two others who will be commanders, set up a team speak channel, instant 150 people who will join you.
Or complain that the event is too popular and others are too lazy to set up more runs when you want to do it.
It is Multiplayer (470k online at once)
It is Massive (huge world, events, multiples things to do and see)
It is Online (at least I need to have an internet connection to play).
Will be cool, will also be a lot of problems for the map boundaries. No change in the screaming on forums since that is always on forums so not a huge deal.
Unknown when, they would like to do it but the mechanics are completely different.
Wardrobe to change your look can be accessed anywhere from the characters tab.
Think it will be call ‘People spinning out of control and complaining afterwards.’
Every map has champs, many of them can be done solo, If you want pick a map within the 68 and under range that either of you have not yet gotten completely done and just clear it, hit the out of the way events, champs, mini dungeons and see how far you get. There is a ton of content that gets bypassed that is quite fun to do.

I am trying to recall a single MMORPG where an expansion handed out everything you expected to get with it up front, rather than making you earn it. I can’t think of a single one, and this sense of entitlement just truly baffles me.
Entitlement?
We were told what to expect. People planned for that and did the work asked of them. Whether you liked it or not we knew the upper boundary.
Then they changed it. Not us.
What? They did not change anything since they have not until now given a number.
They stated world completion was the max. Until the datamine of 170 most people were assuming 100 HPs would be a good number to guess at. When we saw the 170 (which again many did not believe) and the progression for a typical profession I realized I could not get everything right away but about 120 would give me a good starting build.
No they stated no such thing. Data mined is worthless until it is in the game. They have said this many, many times.
no
Don’t you post this every couple of weeks? What are you hoping for?
There is a mount thread that keeps getting filled by wonderful ideas, please add this to that and delete this.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that Anet will work actively to prevent wealthy players. I do believe that there are wealthy players; players that are wise in the ways of flipping high priced items at the TP, players that guessed that certain common items would rise in price and accumulated large quantities prior to the spike. But as a whole Anet does not favor that situation and at times if an event becomes obviously apparent they can and have intervened.
Prior to the release of the game Anet hired a gentleman whose name I do not remember. But I do remember he was adamant that the economy could be controlled and that he would do it.
I don’t think Anet does it to mean or because it hates the players. It does it to provide a stable economy. An economy that has the correct gold to gem ratio. I do believe if Anet wanted t6 leather prices to drop they would turn the dial and loot bags could be filled. It will change … and then change again.
People are playing the game and having fun. If I want to play the game like a Tycoon type game I need to accept the environment that I’m playing in, I wonder if Silver is going to spike this time around?
Do you mean John Smith who has posted many times on forums?
There are many (relative) incredibly wealthy players so not something they are actively preventing, they are very good at inflation control however.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

The key to understanding the understanding issue is in their recent blog on the Living Story. What they have given us so far are ‘teasers’, not actual content. There is also a reference to developers rolling off other projects now available to expand upon the story. The monthly events had to happen as they are a key value proposition for Anet. So, absent the ability to provide actual content, they occurred as ‘teasers’. I would expect the content to be fleshed out more properly over time and this should make the story more understandable. TLDR: You haven’t been able to get it because there has been nothing to get.
Correct.
So a vague and convoluted answer is the correct way to think about a vague and convoluted piece of content?
I really want this Veteran thing to go away. It is not in any way useful.
Hard trinity is not going to appear. It is that simple. Endlessly wailing about it will not change anything.
People are there, in fact tons are there. Often people don’t write in chat, there is usually absolutely no need to. If you ask a question or request help with something I would expect an answer in seconds though.
Can’t really understand the widespread fascination with wings in games.
They did not have different currencies in the core Tyria and people constantly asked for specific currencies. They wanted Teq weapons, they wanted wurm ascended and so on. So frankly it was players who kept demanding various currencies that led to them implementing (I agree too many different ones) currencies to everything now.
You get hair kits for free from AP rewards, while logging in is a huge grind to some I frankly don’t see it.
Many unwelcome guest where removed recently and I appreciate it.
thanks
ckittene is popular, is like cyclohexene but made from kittens?
Yeah, if I drop a box for other people to use, I can’t tell that they’ve used it. So you don’t get to see a big swarm of people being airplanes
I agree it would be cool but the number of people going bug kitten crazy over anything and everything probably limited what ANET was willing to do.
buy them from the npc that sells them. You do not need to buy gems to do this.
