@Balao, I have absolutely no doubt that it is broken since I get the same average drops on characters with and without MF. Unfortunately the ‘a mate told me in the pub’ does not carry a lot of weight. Could very well be true, but sorry can’t point a finger at A-net and say A-HAH.

Getting to the sPvP lobby is harder now but can be accessed from Lions Arch. Full traits/armour/weapons to play with for each character upleveled to 80.
WvW uplevels your character but not traits and weapon/armour bonuses so you will not get the same feel of playing as at 80.

I am actually very happy you are giving a way to get “orphan skins” back into the game. I am not happy that someone with inside information was able to dump all of their hoarded skins over so long of a period of time. It should have been caught and action taken before people actually spotted it, and definitely soon after it was brought to the companies attention.

For fun. When it is no longer fun I move on. Every games maker in the world knows this which is why new games are constantly brought out and old ones updated or shelved.

This just confirms what ANET has publicly stated, the expansion is being worked on but not a priority. Why bother posting it?

Knowing anet they would set the requirements to be lvl 60 guild and thousands of mats. That is a dumb way to go but so is removing convenience systems. Also not everyone is in a guild with hall and non HoT people would be inconvenienced.

Design by not even committee since a committee usually has some grounding in reality. Design by mob, take the least competent member divide by number of people involved equals the competency of the mob.

People asked for them to be account bound, they did that. Now it is account wide. If they do that what will be next? Not need any at all and just harvest by looking at the node?

Why do you need to infuse it if you will never run fractals?

Why don’t you use the several valid and easy options available now to duel? Or is ganking that important to you?

That being said, I don’t see why GW2 must have an answer to the Draenor expansion WoW just announced. We’re consistently getting new content. They’re one year out. There’s no need for any sort of expansion right now, even if they intended to roll one out at some point.

It’s not World of Warcraft that they need an answer for its Elder Scrolls Online and EQ Next. Both have combat systems that will be familiar to GW2 players, both are next gen MMOs, both have huge budgets behind them and with that, expectation to succeed, both are from established and incredibly popular franchises.

I would like this, might even give me incentive to buy the carpet.

After maintenance today there was a problem with the EU LFG. When they where trying to fix that they took it and then the NA LFG offline.

Demand, that will get results fast. They have clearly defined what they mean by features, up to you to listen or not. Next content patch is at least 4 weeks away due to WvW event starting Friday.

I went toughness through traits and zerk with armour and accessories. Get a lot of aggro lol, but I live. Weapons are longbow and double axes, used to hate the axes leveling but man they are good for multi-mob up close damage. Have a naked bear and devoureror for mixed melee and range. I do not have problems the dungeons I run, but I don’t run them often. Pets seem to be a very personal choice.

What good is crafting for?

At the moment, I don’t have the materials to craft anything. I’m chopping all trees and all plants on my way to quests but I’m not focusing on it. Should I give it more time or what?

EDIT: just read this topic in “Crafting” category about whether or not crafting is worth it. And I have to say, there’s a lot of mixed feelings about it, I don’t know who to believe .

I find being able to craft my own items very handy at times. I used my time in game to build up a stock of materials and when I had a bit would craft in various areas. I do not regret ever leveling up a craft. I did not use crafting as a way to avoid other forms of leveling to 80 so the money was not an issue.

You don’t want a PvE map, you don’t want WvW because it has too many people in groups. You want to create a PvP map out of all the PvE maps. Why do you think they created WvW? If it is not pvp enough there are games like Rift, Alloids, WoW so no lack of choice. Since as has been posted these shards are hugely popular there will be no problems for you to find the competition you desire. You can also /sigh in chat all you want and get lots of attention.

So the melee classes are the easiest It sounds like. I might give the warrior a swing just to get a feel for the game in general.

I do kind of want to play a ranger/thief but surfing around on their forums tell me that they aren’t in a real good spot right now so Ill probably wait on those.

Don’t really think it would add much to this game. The cap is the cap and variations are just play style. Bad play is bad play and no amount of armour will get you through it. Good play on the other hand can get you through a lot.

Very nice. I would really like to see more changes to scribing, the thought even after the last changes, behind what needs to be used to make things seems a little shaky.

Just a reminder: in a little more than a week, Blizzard is going to announce the release date of Warlords of Draenor, together with cinematic (gamescom). There’s a prediction that the expansion itself may hit in less than next 3 months.

I really, really wish that ArenaNet will announce something bigger than another Feature pack and Living Story by then. Otherwise, megaservers may not be enough…

I can’t think of any promises backed up on. Maybe legendaries are not out as fast as people hoped and season 3 is slow as well but what they said they did come through on. No promises of easy mode where made for the self proclaimed nor super death for those others.

Correct. What matters is people who want to duel can go to PVP and duel. There’s no need to add another feature when the neccessary framework is already there.

Duel servers exist for me to grief there!

You admit griefing in closed PvP arenas but somehow you would not grief in open world PvE areas. Makes sense.

Ten legendary weapons is more grind than most games I know. Can’t see anything but the novelty of a different grind. Good luck.

I strongly recommend doing the short instance to unlock masteries. Get gliding (the story and a couple of events are enough to get the required experience). Then work on pact and fractal masteries. Anything after is just to your goals whatever they may be.

Can’t really blame a game for real life choices now can you.

not sure how you got from here to there so let me elaborate a bit.

When the game launched there was a lot more freedom of play than there is now- you could run around and just be silly, you could wear whatever gear you wished and no one told you class xyz are useless because they are not warriors.

We did not have check lists and achievement grind- max stat gear was easy to get and then you could concentrate on having fun or running around naked in circles if that was what you wanted.

In dungeons everyone watched the cut scenes and speed runs didn’t exist yet.
Also people thought you had to be level 30-35 to do a dungeon not level 80
We had dance parties in La before patch went live because we were so excited.

now you can very well say that you can still have all that- and you can and I do.
the thing is that was the norm back then and now I have to ignore large parts of the game and the community to have the same.

So yes, I miss freedom and it has nothing to do with real life.

Why still do this? This has been posted since basically day 1. People back when 1 gold was a huge amount where putting 1000g in the MF and being surprised they got nothing out. So why are you still doing this?

Also the point I am making is that I saved ALL my cash for WEEKS, spending on literally just maintenance things like armor repairs. I haven’t bought any new armors or weapons. I saved every gold and silver I could muster. The point is that you would think you could get something nice after saving all that BUT YOU CAN’T!

This game only rewards saving to the extreme degree.

Can’t say I agree with this. You can play just the meta events and get more in WEEKS of play than that, not even getting lucky drops just breaking down the rares and selling the mats.

Just adding my voice that I think it is a bad idea to include a drop of an extra item that is not widely available anywhere else. Not a good plan.

The item is available in every Scarlett invasion and in your home instance if you complete the meta for this Living Story.

oh yes they are now and I have the node in my home instance. They are not available when the event is over or for those that did not do the meta. That is to me a not widely available item.

Someone reported the name or they updated the filters. Don’t know any games that allow NPC names to be used by players. You also agreed to that when you first started the game.

Events give more exp than “quests”, if you are skipping the events you are missing a huge chunk of exp. Explore, harvest, craft, do dailies all give exp as well. It does sound slow for doing things for days and you are not level 20. Read the stickied posts on top of the player helping player forum.

How exactly have you been had? The stats have been posted a long time. If you crafted them you can’t suddenly claim they where something else. For such a huge investment in time I would kind of want to know before I started (which is why I got to 500 crafting and did not make the items).
