I’m confused. Who is hijacking this thread? The recent posts have been mostly about structure of the CDI, what content is pertinent, how discussion can best be facilitated, and ways to keep the discussions in-check from sprawling, off-topic, 70-page posts.

Is that not relevant to improving the CDI process moving forward?

I see that, once again, we’ve had a CDI hijacked by off-topic discussion.

Probably time to close this and move forward.

The CDI is not your place to air grievances because you know the devs are reading.

1) I don’t participate in the CPI process much. Not because I don’t want to but because the whole process seems overwhelming to.

Certain people love their walls of text and trying to read back and review whats been said by the community/devs as well as following a bunch of links all feels very cumbersome and time consuming.

I’d like the CDI process to be easier to follow. Ideas that look to streamline the CDI process is what Id like to see.

The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

What I like is that some of these characters have flaws that make them more believable than just “big norn hero!” A young, physically crippled asura that wants no pity and takes her flaw and makes it her strength (brains, Scruffy), a charr without a warband gives him the strength to prove himself, and 2 unlikely allies become something more amidst a war. These are the stories we love in real life; seeing tragedy turned to triumph. We get that in GW2 if we look deeper. It’s actually a more “human” story than the original Destiny’s Edge.

It was short, sweet, and very helpful for those who haven’t been up to date on the storyline recently.

I agree I liked it more than I anticipated.
Interaction with the PvP elements were low, character interaction was better, and it stopped at just the right time to give that cliffhanger.

Elona, Land of the Golden Sun….and undead…and poison. The travel brochure lied okay?!

Finally, one patch with no meta achievements.

Everything flowed really well with the current story, no extra fluff/grind achievements.

The story alone was reward enough for me. Thank you!

Who was writing the characters prior to now?

the writers write dialogue, but scripting was up to content designers. this led to a lot of story being pushed to the background so gameplay content could be done. at some point, the designers taught the writing team how to script, so now the writers can just add all the text walls they wanted by themselves, instead of having to ask a content designer to do it between tasks.

that’s my understanding of it.

in other words, the writers are able to push more story into the releases without affecting the gameplay density much. hence all those dialogue branches and voiced dialogues that pop if you just sit around.

far as we know, kiel is actually the one trying to reinforce LA’s defenses. there isn’t really much evidence (actually there is none) that indicates kiel is working behind the scenes to sabotage the council. let’s try to keep speculation within the realm of the information we have.

also, let’s not forget that this isn’t the first time lion’s arch has put the stubborn face and took a massive blow. they knew of claw island, and look how well that went.

The instance where you review each of Scarlet’s artifacts has been one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling pieces of lore content that we’ve had in a while (IMO). I would absolutely love to play through it again to really get more of those details.

Please consider making it repeatable!

I had not gotten into the living story myself until right before origins of madness and posted asking the devs to please help me understand the story since I hadn’t gotten into the previous LS events. The scene explaining each of the priories artifacts was pretty cool in how it was implemented and made me understand and catch up so thank you for that.

I wouldn’t think Lord Odran of Lazarus are possibilities.
I’m pretty sure the whole – someone you know- was intended to mean someone our CHARACTER knows. a GW1 villain/character doesn’t fit that at all.

(Also Odran was killed by the souls in the hall of heroes or underworld or something like that.)

There’s one quote by Vorp when reviewing the evidence of Omadd’s device. That is, the only things that go in are brought in, nothing exists inside that device. So the voices/the entity/presence was brought in by Scarlet herself. Vorp theorized that she encountered a dark side of her psyche. This works against the “Mordremoth is controlling her” theories to an extent, unless the argument is that Mordy was already a part of her psyche. However, it still doesn’t fully discount dragons being involved. Even if she’s gone insane and it’s an alter ego, her end goal still may very well have something to do with dragons. Particularly now that they’ve clarified that it’s the leylines under LA that she’s interested in.

EDIT: Also were those new diary entries? They seemed the same to me. I liked how they added dates so the forumers could squelch that argument hehe

On a side note: I think it would be awesome, if Marjory died and Kasmeer goes off the deep end. That would be an amazing ending to the Living Story.

Like others here have said, scepter being not so great for a ranged weapon, I don’t really have a use for Immobulus, although I do like the effects. For a Necro, however, I’d much prefer Eye of Rodgort, even if it does mean having to farm up 500 T6 blood. I can stand to bear 10 Giant eyes being bought on the TP if need be.

I originally thought I could farm the bloods by killing skelks in Southsun- man I changed my mind quickly.

In the end I bought t6 crafting bags with laurels- and kept the bloods, sold the rest.
I had to start with 7g and no laurels too because I used all my laurels on dye -.-
I just put in buy orders every 10-20 or so gold- still took me a month

my Necro loves me though

What a lovely screen! Very nice scepter

Suggestion for reward system on World Bosses

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Horus Nightlight.1276

Not sure if this has been brought up – World Bosses Chest rewards (eg. Shadow Behemoth, Fire Elemental, etc) for individuals should scale with the number of pre-quests done by the individuals. Meaning, the person who has done the pre-quests should get more rares/loot/gold reward/xp than the individual that joined at the last minute and get in a few hits.

If you say so….I saw My wifes loot and to prove to her I could take it took it from her. But its a pointless thing to go over and over. I know what I saw.

Actually perhaps you should say what you saw in detail, because frankly, after over 5000 hours including playing with my wife a good portion of the time, I’ve never seen this.

There are sexual differences in the races

The only difference between a male charr and a female charr is the face, tail and fur. Everything else is exactly the same. Same goes with asura.

Look at many modern mammals today. Sexual dichotomy isn’t a requirement in evolution and should only occur if there’s an advantage to be conveyed to the species. While lions, for example, have a pretty clear dichotomy most other big cats (and small) practically require you to sneak up behind them and lift up their tails. The fact that there are races that mimic this tendency really is refreshing and a nice touch by ANet.
