Since almost most MMORPG on the market have some sexy outfits and armors for female characters, why this very nice game dont have ?

I would be more enjoyable to have some sexy outfits and armors for female character.

Some piercings (belly, tongue, …) also maybe a tatoo npc to put some lower back tatoo… anything to make the game more enjoyable…

A place where people can meet and just chill together would be kinda nice too when your tired of xping and questing… no ?

Umm… this game does have! Take a look at a random character I took screenshots of:

Also, Lion’s Arch and the forums are places people come to “chill”. My favorite outfits though are the ladylike outfits ^_^

I agree with mulch.

Gold is losing value daily due to the fact that there is nothing interesting to spend it on. That’s a good reason why gems are expensive.

What we are experiencing is gold inflation mixed with price of goods deflation. Less demand for goods mixed with increasing supply.

In no particular order fine transmutation stones, black lion salvage kits, gems to gold exchange (which is too low I think), magic find and karma boosters, and minis would like a word with you.

There’s no point since they’d just balance around enchanting anyway, meaning that you’d need to enchant to level the playing field instead of enchanting giving you any advantage. It’d be great to implement provided that it gives an advantage rather than becomes a necessity.

Leaf of Kudzu of Rage finally…458 attempts.

Don’t know how many bows I crafted for this, all rares given to me by Zamorrah is thrown back into the Mystic Forge.

Also, 0 exotics obtained. In all 458 attempts, I got 457 rare bows returned. 458th attempt was the Leaf.

Edit: in hindsight, so totally not worth it.

Ouch! I haven’t even done that many yet on shortbows yet there was a short window where I got three exotics. Not all in a row (well two were) but still a relatively high rate to get back another rare but that’s the nature of these things. Anyway, +1 on your bow =) 0 Exotics in that time sounds unusually unlucky, but at least you got the precursor in the end.

Rich and poor are words created by humans to describe thier share of our planets finite resources. We should live in a world where those resources are evenly distributed but, unfortunatley our puny little brains aren’t capable of developing the technology to replace human labor with mechanical labor… yet.

In a video game Rich and Poor have absolutely no meaning. The resources are infinite, not finite. If they are finite; then thier supply is artificially supressed. Keep that in mind.

So you basically think we should exacerbate blue-collar unemployment? Who would own the land where the machines work? While I believe executives earn far too much relative to the work they do I still nevertheless believe they deserve their executive’s cut, which should be much (but not to the extent it is now, that’s not even counting capital gains, which is where the bulk of their money comes from and not their salary) more than a floor worker (who is currently paid too little on average, especially since most work in China for hardly anything).

Essentially, those in higher stations in society require more money as their decisions effect far more people than those in lower strata. This is why if a president (of a country or company) screws up it effects millions of people whereas if a janitor screws up then no big deal, he just has to go back to whatever spot he missed.

It’s kind of interesting how if a MMO tried to do a socialistic style economy where everyone just evenly splits everyone’s earnings each week it would get low subs/players yet some people thinks it’s such a great and fair way to go irl.

I guess it would be one way to get people to stop hitting anti bot code doing events.. who the hell would do that stuff if all the gold/karma they got were evenly distributed to the server’s population?

Umm, that’s communism, not socialism, and the reason why communism is bad is because only a select few elite have control over the means of production while pretending to exalt and care about the working class. The opposite extreme has the same result, only it’s a select few price fixing monopolies that control everything. In both scenarios there is no upward social mobility and those at the top are the house, and the house always rigs rules to favor itself. An example is the education system, some schools have shop classes and military recruiters whereas others have an emphasis on “leadership” and other abilities and prep them for the Ivy League. It isn’t just about money, because many people have tried throwing money at Deerfield admissions staff and failed to get their kid admitted, no, it’s something else. Money is only one thread in the web of classism.

Also. some vendor goods like gift recipes and icy runestones have a fixed price, and making literally hundreds of rares and salvaging them to afford these becomes more tedious than even probably Anet intended. If crafted goods were more expensive then it would be easier to afford the in-game vendor materials and recipes.

It’s just more fruitful just keeping the mats (unless you somehow frequently get T6, but ironically those are the mats you actually want to keep and therefore wouldn’t have an incentive to sell in the firstplace) and making money via Orr questing and vendoring greens and blues and salvaging yellows you get in Orr.

Unfortunately, there are far more undercutters than there are resellers. The basic rule of thumb is anything less than exotic will only have undercutters whereas only certain exotics will have resellers (those who buy stuff just to resell at a higher price).

You could just buy a skin you want and transmute it with the stats you want if it’s more cost effective. I combined the look of my old level 70 coat with the same skin as the Errol’s/Aidan’s/etc., and combined it with a crafted (with the same stats as Aidan’s but with crit power instead of condition damage so it’s actually better than Aidan’s coat.)

Been suggesting this for a month, hope it’s on their radar.
Events just become faceroll beyond 4-5 players, it’s a needed fix but perhaps the current priorities are others.
I’d really like to hear if Anet is aware of this and they are planning a fix.

I remember reading that they’re planning on adding new content so maybe we can have more 80 zones to spread out the crowd more since there’ll (hopefully) be more than one Plinx like karma and gear farms, especially those that drop T6 mats that you can’t get in Orr.

I mostly farm for mats at this stage, but nodes have a fixed time they respawn and I need to make gold somehow and people who aren’t warriors want to make gold too from these events =( My elemenentalist needs to carefully plan out the lava field and if I predict wrong then it’s overcommitting whereas a warrior has the luxury of fast high instant damage whereas my thief’s shortbow 2 ability has a charge and is a weak AoE that depends upon initiative, which has to be managed carefully in these events. Salvaging crafted rares seems to be a viable option (unfortunately, I tried actually selling the rares, not as cost effective).

When things die onscreen before they’re even rendered or immediately after their invulnerability ends you know there’s a problem. Either that or make all classes have equally viable farming tools since axe 5 spam is getting annoying. I know these aren’t off hours, especially for a weekend, so going into WvW would be a viable alternative especially as far as time management is concerned… but the queues at this kind of time make it impractical, and unfortunately the best farming times (i.e., when fewer people are online or after maintained and bots haven’t logged in yet) are also the best WvW times, kind of.

I’ve noticed people keep comparing GW2 to an FPS, as if the one defining feature of an FPS were the fact that it’s skill-based, rather than grind-based (as opposed to, you know, being in first person and based entirely around shooting).

I really had no idea the world of MMOs was so full of people who feel they should be rewarded purely for the number of hours they spend farming weak enemies, rather than actually getting good at a game. The incentive to play more at GW2 is that the more you play, the better you should be getting at using a wide variety of tactics. If the idea of getting better doesn’t appeal to you enough, or isn’t enough reward for your time … well, I don’t know what to say.

It’s a PvP game, and people may say they don’t want to PvP, but I know they really do but are afraid of getting pwned and humiliated in front of everyone, as if anyone would really care since everyone has to get pwned at some point.

That big dragon has no free will, he is merely bits of data programmed by developers. If he pwned you, then no big deal, he isn’t aware of it whereas other players are a different story.

“If they add more content in the form of ‘power creep’ they will be betraying themself and a lot of fans who really belive in them and their philosphy, so thats not going to happen.”

Power creep though is necessary for dealing with larger and badder threats. Dragon kitten has this with a vengeance, people trembled before Frieza, yet in Dragon Ball GT Omega Shenron could basically yawn on Frieza to defeat him. That big guy who stopped a bullet and could move faster than light on the first DBZ episode? Yeah, he’s hopelessly weak in the grand scheme of the show.

Honestly though the whole fusion thing later on was dumb, but power creep helped made the series interesting.

Just salvage basic quality light armors from farming Orr. It got me well over 100 gossamer. By the way it’s far more cost effective to buy extra bag slots than it is to use major runes of holding. Try using linen bags at the most. Trying for mystic clovers also has a chance to drop gossamer bolts. I usually go by 10s (has a much better clover rate since I got 10 clovers 3 times in a row and on the fourth try I got 20 crystals) but when I did the philosopher stone ingredient I got bolts of gossamer so I can confirm at least 1 ecto, 6 philosopher stones, 1 mystic coin, and 1 obsidian shard has a chance at it.

Sometimes there will be rares, but they don’t always salvage to ectos or are even anything you could throw into the forge (or you could, but wouldn’t be anything you’re looking for). When I get a chest full of greens and blues I think, “Nice, my waypoint fare has been covered”.

I understand what you’re saying but the skillcap in sports is much, much higher. Professional athletes must exercise at least six hours per day, and even a half an hour of that would be too much for the average person. This includes running long distances fast, weight lifting, agility training, etc., to raise these IRL stats (or at the top level maintain them since the law of diminishing returns kicks in).

Meanwhile, warriors and guardians are getting near 100% loot drops with 1/4th the effort involved. They definitely need to change how loot drops work. It’s getting a bit frustrating with the disparity.

As a thief I too hardly waste time on veterans (just use poison AoE and rez dead NPCs, since they seem to be the only ones at Penitence that bother rezzing anyone) if there’s only a veteran present. Usually, if the event at the other end of the tunnel is going on I’ll just do enough for gold and then run over to the other one since being downed is far less frequent and there’s more space to travel.

If you actually care about a band you should buy their CDs, or at least buy their songs individually (preferably not from Amazon since they have the same parent company as WMG, which contributed greatly to Youtube jumping the shark).

The same principle applies to gaming: more revenue for the company means R&D money to deal with bots and content updates. In return you get at least as much or more bagspace than gossmer or silk bags would permit with default bagspace (15g pr even 1g for a rune of holding?! Last night I got the first good reward. I offered 4 greens and got 1 yellow chest armor with the exact stats I’m looking four.

I just wish I had more space in the bank so I could match them better because as it is right now I don’t have the space to keep them long enough to have 4 of the same type. So I just throw them in randomly. I guess I’ll have to pay some real money to unlock more bank slots.

Anyways, is there any way to acquire Mystic Forge recipes in the game? I don’t like to look for recipes on the internet because I consider it cheating.

Knock Back vs Players vs Monsters

The answer to that is two fold.

If monsters couldn’t knock players off edge’s it would be immersion breaking to watch yourself hit an invisible wall.

If players could knock enemies off edges it would likely cause more bugs. (For example, knocking mobs down holes in SWToR used to bug regularly and you’d get mobs fighting you that you couldn’t hit and couldn’t get out of combat)

1. You mean those invisible walls I already run into yet clip right through planks and other things I should reasonably be able to stand on?

2. Just let the mobs take falling damage.

3. Any mob that you tag and dies should be autolooted straight into inventory to avoid the unreachable mob problem.

Edit: Also, in certain circumstances mobs could traverse normally unclimbable inclines and move at amazing speeds to reach the player far more conveniently than they should, and this should change, big time, in every game, because the player creates such a position and situation precisely to minimize the mobs’ convenience, and sometimes some spots are better to only pull one at a time to avoid more aggro than necessary so you could punch your way through the area while minimizing risks.

Why can’t players knock enemy NPCs out of edges?
Why can enemy NPCs knock players out of edges?

I think the more ANet makes the mechanics equal between players and NPCs, the better the game will feel, less frustration, more intuitive gameplay.

If players get knocked out of edges and fall and take damage, I expect enemy NPCs should suffer the same consequences.

Regarding the possibility of “bugging” events due to friendly/enemy NPCs getting knocked off a cliff and dying from fall damage (or even surviving), said NPC would fade into the background shortly after starting to run back up, then fade in from the background already where he should be.

It’d be an immersive teleport, so to speak.

I can’t +1 this enough. Agreed and /signed. SWTOR had the same problem, I’d knock down a mob (who is clearly weaker than my character so should be expected to die by falling) and it would not only live, but go right through the ground under me and attack! They should also get rid of the stupid “evade” and “invulnerability” crap since it mitigates any tactical positional advantage you may have over them (e.g., you can hit them but they can’t hit you).

Why Magic Find is a Poor Mechanism

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Agemnon.4608

Agemnon.4608

If you stack dps instead you kill things faster, thus gaining loot more often, thus having higher chance at higher quality loot

If you stack dps instead in a dungeon, you clear it faster, so you can do more dungeons per day, so you get rewarded more.

In the end, I think magic find people aren’t any better off, they just ruin their own fun because they’re weaker.

Never underestimate the importance of defense, especially in dungeons. They aren’t players (dealing with them requires a different skillset and stats entirely and have free will unlike the AIs), they are bosses with huge HP pools and two-shot attacks. Knight’s gear is the best dungeon gear for DPS because you get toughness in addition to power and precision.

For dungeons power<toughness<precision so go with gear that has power as the highest stat and toughness as the second highest.
