As much as I think most of the changes are terrible. There were some real gems.

The Transfusion one might be the shiniest one of the lot. Teleporting downed allies to you with a skill that hits through walls and terrain is pretty strong in PvP. The cleave denial on downeds is real.

  • Blood is Power: This skill now applies 8 stacks of might for 8 seconds to nearby allies.
  • Plague Sending: When you have 3 or more conditions on you your next critical hit casts Plague Signet on your target. This trait benefits from the recharge bonus of Signets of Suffering.
  • Last Rites: Gain increasing healing power based on how low your health is. Other allies near you do not bleed out while downed (combat only).
  • Vampiric Presense: You and allies near you siphon health with attacks (combat only). This effect stacks with the siphoning granted by Vampiric.
  • Transfusion: Shroud skill 4 heals and partially revives nearby allies. Additionally you teleport up to 5 nearby downed allies to your location while channeling this skill.

Good

  • Focus skill range increased to 1200.
  • The area of mark skills has been increased to 240. Mark skill recharges have been reduced by 20%. Mark damage has been increased by 10%.
  • Well skills now use ground targeting by default. When used underwater, wells cast at the player’s location.
  • Minion skill recharges have been reduced by 20%.
  • Corrosive Poison Cloud: Increased the number of poison stacks from 1 stack for 3 seconds to 3 stacks for 3 seconds.
  • Epidemic: With the changes to condition stacking, Epidemic now only applies up to 25 stacks of any given condition. Increased recharge to 20 seconds.
  • Life Blast/Plague Blast: Fixed a bug that caused the projectiles fired from these skills to not deal damage to the caster if they were reflected.
  • Signet of Vampirism: Healing from the active portion of this skill will now heal players while in shroud.
  • Rending Claws: The animation for this skill no longer hides your offhand.
  • Unholy Feast: Instead of removing a boon, this skill now converts a boon to a condition on struck foes
  • Signets of Suffering: Reduces recharge of signet skills by 20%. Signets grant 3 stacks of might for 15 seconds on cast and convert up to 2 boons on affected foes to conditions.
  • Corrupter’s Fervor: Whenever you apply a condition to a foe gain a stack of Corrupter’s Fervor for 8 seconds which grants 30 toughness and 2% reduced incoming condition damage per stack (maximum 10 stacks).

Insignificant

  • Necrotic Traversal: Increased the poison from 1 stack for 5 seconds to 3 stacks for 6 seconds.
  • Fetid Ground: Increase the poison duration from 3 seconds to 5 seconds per pulse.
  • Plague: Increased the poison duration from 1 second to 2 seconds per pulse.
  • Putrid Curse: Increased the poison duration from 4 seconds to 5 seconds.
  • Chillblains: This skill now applies 3 stacks of poison for 5 seconds. Fixed an issue where this skill would not display a combo ring.
  • Dark Water: This skill now applies 2 stacks of poison for 6 seconds.
  • Death Curse: Increased the poison duration from 6 seconds to 8 seconds.
  • Signet of Spite: Increased the number of poison stacks from 1 stack for 10 seconds to 2 stacks for 10 seconds.
  • Flesh Golem – Charge: Movement speed adjustments no longer affect the intended travel distance.
  • Signet of the Locust: Reduced recharge to 30 seconds. Increased range to 600.
  • Signet of Undeath: This skill now has a small strike of damage to foes within it’s area of effect.

Bad

  • Plague Signet: Reduced recharge to 30 seconds. Reduced number of conditions transfered by the active component to 5 (previously all).
  • Plague: This skill is now considered a corruption skill and applies 1 stack of bleeding for 2 seconds to you every second it is active.
  • Unholy Fervor: Reduces recharge of axe skills by 20% and deal 10% more damage to vulnerable foes.

Why would you do this?

  • Consume Conditions: This skill is now considered a corruption skill and applies 10 stacks of vulnerability to you for 4 seconds after use. Increased recharge to 30 seconds.
  • Lich Form: This skill is now considered a spectral skill and grants 15% life force when it ends. Reduced duration of this skill to 15 seconds (previously 20).
  • Spectral Walk: This skill can no longer be activated while in mid-air.

All in all I rate these changes 2/10 in regards to what other classes got. I’m convinced Anet want nothing more than to delete Necro and as such are doing their best to make sure no one plays it instead.

From someone who does 24/7 PvP, this is not serious and certainly not with OP’s history of trolling and asking for nerfes for every class except his main.. If u dont get this, then I dont know.

You realize that pretty much everything OP wants are things that were wrongfully removed in an attempt by Anet to justify Dhuumfire’s addition to the game? They just never bother to revert the shaves they made due to Dhuumfire after effectively removing Dhuumfire from play. I don’t even play Condi Necro because I think Conditions in GW2 are a kittening terrible and an awful kittening substitute for traditional DoTs, but that doesn’t change that those Necros who actually enjoyed them got royally shafted.

Cleansing Ire should be a minor.

The condi cleanse part of CI is too strong to be a minor as is. And I’m reasonably sure no one wants to see it get shaved.

However, if I look at mesmers and what traits they’re getting as a baseline

Mesmer’s IP and CI are quite different in the amount of strength they add to the class as far as I’m concerned. That doesn’t mean I condone the amount of stuff Mesmer is getting for free either. Illusionary Elasticity being baselined is ridiculous.

I think all other classes should be getting way more traits as baseline

Power Creep is bad. Real bad. Better to rework the mechanics that make people feel forced to take a certain trait than simply try to give everyone more strengths to counter weaknesses. Because that doesn’t work well, ever.

Probably could judging by vid.
The Necro he faced messed up several times when he wasn’t getting outplayed. Not to mention he was using Spite Sig and Spectral Wall.

PW is a much easier to deal with than Flanking Strike despite nerf. A proper S/D Thief is a lot scarier.

Fast Hands can be baseline if they make every on swap effect a Warrior can access have a 20+ icd. That includes sigils. Otherwise I’m against it.

Warrior Sprint baseline would be silly.

As for Cleansing Ire, I’ve seen suggestions to split the effect and make just the “Adrenaline on getting hit” baseline. And I think that would be a good change. The condi cleanse however should not under any circumstances ever come for free.

Warrior is my most played alt class and if anything the class needs to have its support shaved. Mainly an increase to Warbanner cast to make it 3s, cooldown set to 180 seconds and it’s radius reduced to 180 to bring it in line with other Revive skills. As well as having have shouts changed to get increased cooldowns with stronger effects. Physical skills need to be buffed though.

So, now remove/increase the AoE cap?

Army of Charr Nomad Guardians all blasting their light fields and killing the necros by standing in their wells. Mmm sounds so good.

Wells don’t trigger Retaliation or any on hit effect like Frost Aura/Chaos Armor when they do damage.

Yes, and I want them to go on double cooldown if they hit targets that are dodging/blocking too, because this makes as little sense for them as it does for our RtL.

The healing I get when I play D/D Ele and Shoutbow doesn’t feel very active. It’s more or less always there so it might as well be counted as passive.

Ammies are getting their stats boosted in HoT to account for lost stats from traitlines tho. So unless it’s -10% on the current stat amount with no boost come HoT it’s a proper nerf. -10% post stat boost ain’t exactly much of a gamechanger.

You should be able to provide pin-point accurate answers or counters to any argument I may have since apparently I am the Jon Snow of the Necro “community”.

Please do smash my arguments, that’s what this is for. Convince me that you are right and I am wrong. I will admit that I am wrong if I get a straight up answer. Saying that Revenant is what Necro should have been does not help since things are they way the are now and Anet will not ever scrap the Revenent to remake the Necro at this stage of develoment.

Well first of all, I never said anything about Revenant. I don’t care one bit about that class. My annoyance pertains to your misguided beliefs in the game’s mechanics in relation to Necromancer. And quite frankly, I have no obligation to spoon feed you information that is readily available should you wish to cure yourself of your ignorance.

But just to oblige you. Let’s go over some of the things you have said and I will dispute them.

1. You think Necro brings something worthwhile to a party in being able to apply Vulnerability, Poison and Chill.
Neither of these are of any importance in PvE except Vulnerability. And Vulnerability is something that can be covered by Engineer, Warrior and Ele with ease. Poison while useless in PvE it can be easier and better applied by Thief and Engineer. Choking Gas and Poison Grenade are far more useful in a PvP setting as well to hinder resses than most of Necros poison inflicting skills.

2. You refer to Necro as a “top tier DD”
This is only ever true if you have Wells and Locusts ticking while you’re mashing 1 in Lich Form with maxed out boons from teammates. Outside of that Necro is subpar DPS with no support. And since you seem confused to what constitutes support in PvE it boils down to anything that can help you complete content faster. This usually means: Party damage modifiers like Might/Fury/Banners/Spotter, projectile reflects, stealth for skips, and skills like aegis and stability in certain cases where CC can put a stop to smooth dps.

3. You think Executioner’s Scythe and Gravedigger will even come close to the DPS an Engineer can squeeze out in a proper rotation.
This is blatantly stupid. The numbers are out there and while it has been stated that the coefficients may change I find that very unlikely. So going by the numbers we have as of right now, I can state as fact that Reaper will not do more DPS than an Engi.

4. You ask how blast finishers would be implemented
This is an easy one as as there are multiple skills that could be given a blast finisher like Unholy Feast, Wail of Doom and Enfeebling Blood.

5. You wonder how we would be able to give a party Might and/or Fury
Traits like Reaper’s Might and Furious Shroud could easily be made to have a party wide effect.

6. You seem to understand what mobility entails but you underestimate its importance in a PvP setting.
Being able to quickly disengage/rotate/regroup/reset is incredibly important in Conquest. A lot of the times when you play Necro in with good players you feel like a fat waddling penguin fused with a ping pong ball unless you slot both Spectral Walk and Wurm.

You know sometime you need to make it look weak so that the other skills will look stronger than it actually is. Take a look at Warrior’s off-hand sword, this thing is OP but then they have is a broken Warhorn therefore off-hand sword doesn’t look that OP anymore. See the trick there?

Yeah nah. Spectral Grasp is awful outside of the very niche use it has in yanking people off of walls in WvW. Most of every other pull like Magnet/Scorp Wire/Binding Blade/Temporal feels pretty smooth to use and usually works as intended. Implying that Spectral Grasp is actually a strong skill that is simply outshined by stronger skills in the Necros kitten nal is preposterous.

The Signet of Undeath + Vital Persistence would mean you no longer lost any life force over time. Coupled with other utilities and traits you would never have to leave death shroud in a 1v1.

Sig of Undeath would still be one of the worst skills in the game if it worked in DS. You’re sacrificing a utility slot for something that isn’t a stunbreaker or a Well. You ain’t kittening wasting a utlity for 0.66 LF regen per sec.

That brings it back up to 30 seconds, which it used to have. It wasn’t OP and was only changed because it was the only transform that lasted 30s and not 20s like every other transform.

Yeah, except the few people who have the tribal set didn’t do much work to get it. They just got lucky and got the skin before Anet removed it from the game (very, very early into the game’s life).

Getting to rank 40 back then took a lot longer than it would now. Your rank points were dependant on your personal score at the time and winning/losing a match gave nothing outside of paids iirc.

Greater marks since staff iirc is the only weapon with 2 weapon traits. Besides that everything else being a decent choice is fine.

No it won’t make staff OP. Staff sucks. Have you seen how OP dagger/pistol weapon set is for thief? This have an instant cast, ranged interrupt that has no cooldown and is spammable.

Time to wake up and realise that we need OP stuff because everyone else has totally OP stuff. Look at weapon skills like obsidian flesh. It is one of 8 weapon skills on ele focus which is on a lower cd and is strictly better than endure pain.

SO many more examples. Gear shield anyone? Impale? Warrior longbow in general.

I’m ok with them adding Tribal/Stalwart/Apostle skins back in if they add Greatsaw and other unobtainable skins back in as well for reasonable crafting prices(200g tops).

And if they do add it back in I would suggest making it a track like Glorious armor one. One piece at the end, selectable stats.

When you are talking about duel you are talking about something who is not in guild wars 2 . There is no duel game mode in this game . 1v1 happens , not " duel " . Duel means nothing in this game .

Why does it have to be an official game mode to matter? GvG’s and dungeon speedruns aren’t official ways to play the game either but they still matter.

And that’s not something you do in duels, which is an already established concept. Whether you consider it hypocritical or not is irrelevant. Learning how to fight any opponent in any situation is something you do in scrims with teams and stuff where the environment is actually the kind that you will be fighting in when you’re playing in tournaments and the utmost goal is to win the match.

If the point of a duel is not to win what is it ?

Well by the traditional definition it’s usually an arranged fight where both participants use similar weapons and fight as honourably as possible and win through skill and not by any means necessary. Think of it as a sport more than a fight. You aren’t allowed to do stuff like hit someone below the belt or spit someone in the eyes in sports like boxing for a reason.

Not really the point of a duel.

Duels have rules to make them fair. Or it’s not so much a duel as a brawl. That’s why most do them with rules like 60s cooldown rule and no out of combat regen rule and in the case of Necros, DS limitations.

That calculator is weird and sketch O.o where are the numbers coming from, how does any of this work. Why is food not standardized? Where are the assumptions about might coming from? Is spicy beans bowl of sweet and spicy beans? So far from a scientific look at necro dps. This is clearly making a lot of behind the sences assumptions about builds / rotations and calculations. DPS over what time frame? Burst dps over 10 seconds is differnt than prolonged dps over a minute.

It literally links you to the spreadsheet used. The DPS calculations are under a 30s period. The assumptions are sound.

I was being genuine actually. Power necro is stupid and brainless. It is literally 1 spam. Im not disagreeing with the dude who quoted me, necro isnt strong. But power necro is lame and skillless. It is the sort of spec which shouldnt be as powerful as it is. Imo

You know, I would be all for moving damage away from 1 skills to other skills as long as the damage potential remains exactly the same.

Though in my opinion it’s not as bad as you make it out to be. I need to play better to do well on Power Necro than I need to do on D/D Ele, Shoutbow and Cele Rifle from my experiences.

I actually stopped playing PvE a long time ago for this very reason. A lot of the story/plot content and activities that they have you doing bother me. They don’t make me feel like a hero. They make me feel like a jerk or the bad guy, or worse sometimes.

Not sure where Anet got their writers but they need new ones.

Because the current scaling is basically a lie, you take half damage while in DS, meaning vitality is effectively double what it says. You would get technically 9% more vitality scaling according to the numbers, but 18% due to half damage taken.

Oh you counted the damage reduction as a multiplier. That’s stupid. Everyone already knows about that and it should be counted as a separate effect when you crunch numbers. I literally thought you meant we was getting bumped from 0.78 to 1.38 on top of damage reduction.

For example Warrior could get a spec called Warlord or General or something like that and get soldiers or like soldier spirits they call to battle. Like, healing skill is a called Mender/Healer and goes around healing and buffing you until killed and then you could have generic soldier summons like Archer, Footman, Squire, Pikeman and Fighter for the utilities.

Aragorn? Something like the Oathbreakers would be nice and all but that sounds like a Necro/Revenant thing.

I dunno man, I just said spirits because some people might have a problem with corporeal live soldiers popping out of the ground outta nowhere even though Thief has skills that do that. I personally don’t care one bit about justifying skills with lore or whatever.

What? But that’s almost double the current scaling. Why? When was this announced?

I mean I’m not complaining since it means you’ll be able to have 33k HP + 45k DS for kittens and giggles if that’s the case. But I fail to see the reasoning behind it.

Saying ‘could’ care less means that you care, but have the capacity to care less, ’couldn’t’ care less means you’ve bottomed out with interests and have no lower to go.

“I could care less” is actually correct grammar. It’s the American way of using the phrase “I couldn’t care less”. It’s no less wrong than writing color over colour or honor over honour.

Thats where you’re wrong, its a logical thing not a spelling thing or grammar thing.

“I could care less” = I care at least a bit (because you could care less)

“I couldn’t care less” = I don’t care at all <— this is what you mean

The logic behind does not matter. It is grammatically correct to use the phrase “I could care less” to imply that you do in fact not care the least bit about whatever it is you do not care about. I’m also not American.

Honestly cant tell what the point of that was.

Saying ‘could’ care less means that you care, but have the capacity to care less, ’couldn’t’ care less means you’ve bottomed out with interests and have no lower to go.
