You need to discover “Rare/Yellow” or “Exotic/Orange” items now. You get those recipes from the NPC at the work station you are using. You use karma to buy those recipes.
What I think they were trying to do here was have the damage spread/shared with everyone in the group or in a certain area…instead everyone was hit for the total amount.

The problem is ascended gear needs more sources.
If it becomes character bound those of us who only have time to do dailies on one character a day are boned.

Why is Anet nerfing every single farming location that players find?
Because this game never intended to allow you to farm in the first place. Hence in launched with diminishing returns in exp, money and loot.
Why keep nerfing things you ask? Because people like you still didn’t get the point that you are not supposed to farm in this game.because of the gem store and being able to convert gold to gems. if people were able to bring in loads of gold they could essentially buy everything in the gem store without paying anet any money. they dont want that.
it’s not that hard to be able to buy everything in the gem store with gold. That’s what I’ve been doing, that’s why gold to gems exchange ratio is so high. If people were buying gems and exchanging those to gold gold to gem ratio would be extra low.
Anet never said they they built the game to block you from framing or not allow you to farm…they intended to build a game where farming wasn’t “NECESSARY”…two totally different things, technically farming isn’t necessary.
What gets me is why Anet thought they could change human nature with this game. It’s human nature(for the most part) to want the best; be it better stats or something shinny…in this context…shinny skins, which usually takes an insane amount of grinding and/or farming…you can’t argue with that, though…some will try.
And im my opinion farming doesn’t reward enough…TP traders by far make more money and the community should not have to be forced to “trade” to have all the shinny stuff.
My favorite part is when he/she said their opinion matter more than anyone’s else because they “play” a guardian also…lmao

Are thieves ever going to get their burst increased to become #1? Are warrior and mesmer going to have their burst nerfed so they aren’t at the top? Or is everything just going to stay the same?

the only way i know this can be done is by buying orian boxes with the char who has the Karma and then unloading the Karma on the alt you look to gear… cause im guessing Karma armor is soulbound….

Yeah, his AOE literally covers the WHOLE CAMP and then some…don’t know what they were thinking there. But I don’t expect anything soon. Zero response from Anet since this patch and people voicing their concerns about it.
Almost as though they want us to have the “Holy Trinity”….but I do believe Anet said they did not want to go the “Holy Trinity” path…I could be wrong….
I came back a few weeks ago after a several months long break and finished a couple starting zones with some new characters. Much to my horror and dismay, I noticed I didn’t find a single unidentified dye! I remember starting new characters shortly after release and sometimes I’d get a few before hitting level 10.
Did they seriously reduce the drop rate for these? Or is it just RNG hating on me, as usual?
Rolled a new Ele the other night…got about 3 from lvl 1-4 from drops…so yes, they do drop…

Kill away! It’s still very much a WvW map, just its own map now. It’s all growsed up.
Was this just a promotion of trolling from the development team? Didn’t they already state they want to reduce the amount of trolling that goes on in the game? or something to that affect.

AR is a really bad mechanic to make people feel like they " accomplished" something. Companies have tried this same mechanic is pretty much all other MMO’s and eventually gets thrown out the window because it segregates the community. AR will be thrown out sooner rather than later or they will pretty much hand out AR gear…bet ya.

You might actually test out your skills as a Glass Cannon before investing on all that gear…not saying you are a bad player…but some people are REALLY REALLY bad at glass cannon builds, well because they are VERY VERY squishy and people who run zerk warrior groups will drop you from the group with your first mistake/down…literally with your FIRST MISTAKE/DOWN…
Wondering how a full Guard group running this would do…there would literally be no need to dodge(ok, maybe next to zero need). Spam aegis/heals/protection/burn and stand there and dps down everything…seems more efficient to me lol.

This is not normal. I have experienced this too, a group of 5 chasing the thief while he took out a mesmer and my thief while spamming emotes. After checking combat log, we noticed he was also immune to all the aoe by the mesmer.
I don’t know if this is a hack or not…but WvW is full of what seems to be terrain glitches. I player can stand in a certain spot and not get hit by anything…even if you are in their faces. This could be a glitch or a hack…I don’t know.
Unless the Thief was hacking, they were not immune to any damage.

But he moved around so quickly it was difficult to do any real damage to him.This is very easy for a dodger thief to do if you just randomly spam aoe… You need to stun lock him to have effect. Burst rifle warrior also destroys any thief like that. I play a thief like that and I can easily roll against 5 medicore players who don’t have heavy damage builds. Yes, I’ve been called a hacker too. ;D
No hacker is immune to damage. To get damage immunity you would haveto crack into anet’s server, which would be quite difficult. Not something a random script kiddy can pull off.
You clearly have no idea how hacks work. To state hacks have not made it to this game is funny…

Anti Stealth Traps?

You see it in every profession forum. Whenever a counter(regardless of its strength) is implemented people rarely ever jump up and say “About kitten time. Finally something to spice things up.” Can you imagine how good it would feel to still beat somebody with an antistealth field? We also have no details on how these traps will function so it is way too early to be paniking.
And remember WvWvW is not balanced around 1v1s. Its about large scale tactical fights and right now A-Net is introducing more ways to perform said combat tactics. I’m sure in time more traps will be introduced so there really is no need to feel like this is thief only persecution.
The only thing anti stealth fields will promote is smarter gameplay and less cheese. So how about instead of moaning we either avoid dangerous situations like a smart assassin or outplay anti stealth opponents like a Dante must die hero.

Somebody who likes to have a challenge.the only stealth that a zerg uses is a veil from mesmers….if there is a problme with that skill then nerf/fix it. dont ruin thieves defense and offense in 1 shot. we have limited roles as is.

That’s not entirely true. We have access to Evade that is better than Block, and we have access to Blind that is better than Invulnerability. Our Dagger Storm deals damage, reflect projectile and stabilizes with 30s CD — in addition to stealth and shadow step.
So I have to disagree with everything you have said.
Vincent have you ever played thief? Every class has access to evade but it is true we do have better access. It is not better than block though as someone can block and still attack/be offensive whereas when someone is evading, they are dealing 0 dmg. Also, don’t forget, everyone has access to evade. It’s not a class mechanic. You also have to be active to be evading where which block, it’s usually just passive (mostly thinking about guardians here). Invulnerability is multiple hits where nothing can hurt you from any thing. Blinds only help you vs the few targets that might be affected while you’re still vulnerable to anything outside of the smoke field. Blind is also only 1 attack then it’s gone. You could have a 30s duration blind but after 1s it’s all gone. Dagger storm has a 90 second cd, not 30. The reflect is decent but it’s only a self reflect so it’s very selfish. At least with ele, they can give their self-reflect to the entire team, warrior self reflect also makes them basically invuln, engi self-reflect also has a knockback. The damage it does it pretty junk though. If you use it against a single target, you’ll be lucky to get 5 hits over the course of is entire duration. It’s really only good when you’re surrounded.
Also @ trav, thief has the lowest hp pool, not the 2nd lowest. Since all 3 light armor classes have good access to invulns and/or protection and 2/3 have higher hp pools, thief has the lowest defense in the game.
The only way to survive as long as other classes is to abuse evasion with the help of sigil or energy and a using all of our traits/utilities to spec for dodging. This can be a very strong troll build for surviving but you’ll be giving up a lot more than what most other classes need in order to survive just as well.
Do you play a thief? Don’t confuse “DODGE” with “EVADE”…and no…all classes DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO IT. You can damage while evading…
They could at least bring the maps down to only needing one of the maps or only EB. You really can’t control it. I don’t know the exact mechanics of the WvW timers, but they way I see this could possibly keep you from ever getting your legendary, correct me if I am wrong if this is a possibility or not.
It’s true…there are some real kittens “elitist” (most are not that great) wanna be’s here…but there are some really nice and helpful players and guilds.
But I do think the difficulty is part of the problem…I think it makes people just so tense that when a mistake happens people just blow up. I have said it before and I will say it again…I think there needs to be a tiered system with dungeons.
This exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. Not sure what caused it. Just ended up not buying any gems lol…probably for the best.

Though this subject may have been covered at an earlier time, I would like to bring our attention back to it in order to see some semblance of progression and improvement in wvw.
Players being able to damage doors without the use of siege is counter-intuitive.
Not only does it encourage a lack of skill in gameplay, but also discourages others to upgrade and defend.At the moment, we see masses of players surging through keeps and towers, only being moderately hampered if siege is already in place. Defenders feel overwhelmed and frustrated, which leads to the feeling that everything is futile. They will at this time allow their borderland to be taken, and return once the enemy has left the map.
With the introduction of world experience, ranks, and improved siege, there now needs to be more of a focus on making wvw enjoyable once again.
By removing player damage to doors, masses with be required to use siege at all times, which in turn means more players will require supply.
Camps will in turn hold more of a significance, and small groups will have a better chance at dispersing the attacking forces after destroying their siege.Players as a whole will need to be more intelligent with siege placement, they will have to think before rushing into a battle, and finally realize that even an undefended fortification will require some effort.
So, Remove PvDoors.

Soooo, auto attacking with a siege weapon requires more skill than auto attacking with a hand held weapon because….?
It is up to the defender to defend that wall by any means necessary.
You are DEFENDING. An attacker will attack with any weapon they have available to win. Plain and simple.

The biggest problem with stealth right now in Guild Wars 2 is that there is no direct counter to it. Sure, you can swing your sword around like a maniac trying to connect with the thief but that isn’t really countering the stealth itself.
So there’s nobody riding shotgun on your team who can drop a Meteor Strike or two in your vicinity or some other form of AoE? Thieves aren’t exactly the sturdiest of classes, and GC thieves even less so.
Sooooo… you suggesting you NEED more than one person to take down a thief? If this doesn’t sound broken to you I don’t know what will.
I know it might sound silly…but when I FINALLY get mine I am not gonna change it at all. Seems like a lot of work just to use it as a skin to lol. But that’s just me.

I don’t even think you need the path to be open anymore to run Arah…maybe only for the Karma vendors?

Am I cursed to only get a pre-legendary on the first try when I toss things in?

I am starting to think RNG is applied upon account creation and not changed at all afterwards. My luck with drops has literally not changed since launch. I seem to get the same amount/kind at the same frequency everyday.

I don’t know about unplayable…but if they are going to be WAY harder to do then CoF p1…we should get a chest at the end of each and be rewarded the same about of silver for completing each one.
I don’t get Anets logic on the HUGE buff to the mobs. If mobs are going to hit you for more HP then you could ever possibly have…they need to get rid of culling and there needs to be a CLEAR induction to the move.

First, who says they have “adapted”? As a tank player the lack of a trinity is why I don’t even bother with PvE content. A good portion of my guild (WvW only) feels similarly. Second, what leads you to believe the two things are even remotely similar, or related? I know there are a lot of people that are happy that the trinity doesn’t exist in GW2, but believe me there are also a lot of people who are unhappy about it.
I doubt anyone bought this game not willing to adapt. Scrapping the “Holy Trinity” was the basis of this game from the beginning. Anyone unhappy about the lack of the holy trinity probably bought this game without reading anything about it.

The item itself actually says Able to mine all metals, so it is quite unlikely that they would be unable to mine any possible higher tier.

On a second thought though, I think it’s unlikely they’ll release new node tiers because then they’d have to add new armor/weapon/etc tiers into the game and they promissed ascended would be the last of them.
You won’t get a dev response confirming, the response you will get is “We have no plans do add higher tiers right now, nor are we working on it. We cannot guarantee we will never add tiers, but it is currently not being worked on or considered.”

It NCSoft has anything to say I don’t think they will ever add a new tier of Ore. At least I don’t think they have in any of their other games.
Anet also needs to really consider what they built this game around…scrapping the concept of the “Holy Trinity”. They shouldn’t make content so hard that you need fully built healers/tanks/dps’ers. We were supposed to be able to to go to a dungeon/event or whatever, with any build we liked and be able to complete the content.
But it seems they are more and more pushing us towards consider the best “tank” builds, the best “healer” builds and best “dps” builds.
So Anet…I thought you were giving us a game were those words were not supposed to mean so much?

Then, stock dailies until Sunday, so if the account didn’t log during the week it still has the opportunity to collect all the remaining Laurels for that week.
Problem solved.Whose problem? The point of dailies, in most games, is to get people logging in. More people in the world mean more people to play with. More people around. The game looks busier. This is true of all MMO dailies.
This way someone logs in and logs out without doing anything, leaves it all to the weekend, and you lose part of the reason dailies exist in the first place.
Some individuals may benefit from this, but the game as a whole may not.
I see your point and you are not wrong, but forcing people into doing things they won’t do on their own sets the basis for a migration.
I bring my own experience as example: I am a very casual player, if my total GW2 time available for the day is, let’s say, 1 hour, I would really like to log and do a dungeon; I cannot, because if I do the dungeon I miss the daily…. you see the point? and what if I only want to do a quick WWW run? and if I just want to chat with friends in LA?
This game has an excess of currencies when we would need really only one, able to buy everything in the game .
Forcing people is not the right path.
So you want to be rewarded with laurels for simple standing in LA? O.o
