Healing is the least important kind of support in GW2. You’re much better off learning how to take advantage of blinds and blocks to mitigate damage altogether, and fortunately, those two things are very accessible to DPS Guardian.
I run with GS / S+F, which has plenty of blinds, and the trait to recharge F1 on kill is super important.

There was, but since the only people that ever went there were the ones offering the suggestions, it didn’t get very much attention.
I think this is a good idea, and though I usually try not to say this, it should be very easy to implement, assuming they had any idea what they were doing when they built the LFG system.
As for a SW tab in LFG, I don’t think that should be done; rather, I think they should just nerf the kitten chests and get it over with already.

What happens when you enable first-person mode and zoom in? Does the camera go to her head? I’ve not noticed anything odd on my human/sylvari/asura, but then again, I don’t really pay that much attention to where the camera is, as I keep it zoomed out pretty far usually.

Just so you’re all aware, you’re not automatically smart for being cynical. Nothing in the world is that simple, and you should do yourselves a favor and stop thinking it is.
However, the answer is still probably no, because kitten if I know why. Apparently they think pet AI is good enough to leave it, despite clearly being bad and rendering the Ranger’s entire profession mechanic mostly useless in PvE. Would love to hear a dev comment on this and if they’re ever going to look at it again.

That could definitely be a fun minigame. Dragon Ball was very Quake-like, so something like that shouldn’t be too hard to do. Now, I wouldn’t expect it to work great, but as Lorgus implied, that hasn’t stopped ANet before, lol.

I couldn’t help but notice you offered no solutions to this problem. This is an MMO, what do you even want them to do? How are your choices supposed to matter when there are a few hundred thousand other people who are also supposed to be the sole hero the story is centered around? They can’t change the world as experienced by everybody based on the decisions of one player, and if you’re looking for any permanent change in the environment based on your decisions, you will never find it in a non-sandbox online game.

And ANet’s top priority should be 1% of the users.. why? Obviously they did this for a good reason, or they wouldn’t have done it. If your crazy lottery is inhibited by it, that’s a shame, but anybody throwing their money away on the pretense of a lottery should expect they’re being scammed anyway. This change does not affect normal operation of the game at all, so I fail to see why it’s any of ArenaNet’s concern.

The hype train was never meant to run constantly until release. If you think that it was, you’re insane. The fact is that ANet doesn’t give two kittens if you’re happy with their release schedule, because they know that regardless of how jaded you feel right now, come release day you’re all going to be racing to throw your cash at their feet and worship them as gods, until 3 weeks later when your lack of self control lands you right back in this slump, but it doesn’t matter, because they already got your money.
So how about you just learn a little restraint, get a handle on your emotions, and wait it out like the rest of us?

Have you been upgrading your gear? There’s no reason you should be having trouble in a low level zone unless you haven’t been keeping your gear up to date with your level. At 80 with BiS gear, you will slay everything in low level zones with a flick of the wrist.

They’re actually working on a streaming client that is in beta right now. I can’t remember exactly how to activate it (it’s an argument you have to give when running the executable), but what that means is that, like GW1, you’ll be able to start the game without downloading the entire update, and it will just limit your access to the parts of the game that you’ve downloaded so far.
I haven’t tried it out yet, but once they get that to a more polished state, it should make getting back into the game after a long absence much easier.

Living World S1 is still not back in the game, but they’ve said they plan on doing that eventually. S2 can be purchased if you really want to play it. Honestly you shouldn’t worry about keeping up with it though. There’s no way in hell you will ever get anywhere near 100% completion in a game like this, so you might as well stop worrying about that.
Anyway, if you haven’t played in 2 years, you should find plenty of things to keep yourself occupied. Note that it will be much more interesting if you have friends to play with, but even without, there are a lot of long-term goals you can spend some time working toward every day.

Funny thing is, come time for the expansion to drop, everybody is going to forget they ever cared about this. People make such a big deal about the hype dying down, as if ANet expected it wouldn’t. You think they don’t know what they’re doing? It doesn’t matter if the hype goes away, because it’s all coming back in the weeks leading up to release, and nobody is going to be thinking about what’s happening right now.
If you’re so salty about not having expansion info, you should probably look for other things to entertain yourself with. ANet doesn’t give a rat’s kitten if you’re happy with their schedule, because they know that in a few months, you’re gonna come running back with wads of cash in your hand ready to throw at their feet.

ANet is not stupid. The fact that you all think you know better than they what they need to do is hilarious, and shows you have no idea how businesses function.

OMG you have to listen to all of their material, it’s so good. They were actually NPC’s in Sacred 2, and that was probably the best part of that game, given the studio went out of business…

And here is where we come to what I believe is the actual cause for the problem, either intentionally or unintentionally the developers made loot acquisition a top priority. As a result the ‘community’ exhibits traits of what some have called the “WoW-factor” or “Wow-mentality”, where they adopt an ‘us versus them’ mentality.
You’re way over-analyzing this. Yes, time and loot are major reasons this mentality is dominant. But the fact is, if you’re dead at, let’s say Tequatl, it will take you MAYBE 30 seconds to WP and run back. Sure, rezzing someone is helping them, in a way, but you vastly overestimate the value of that help, as they’re perfectly able to help themselves at very little cost. In fact, the cost is very little for either solution, as none of this is important in the slightest. It’s just a video game.
Players have simply tended toward the path of least resistance, as does all nature. That’s evolution. The only way to change the path of an electric current to the ground is to alter which path is the shortest, and so it is with herd mentality.

That’s pretty hilarious, given how little effort this must have taken. In my experience, character models are not infrequently given a base state of that T-shape (arms straight out to the side), so I doubt they even had to do anything to the skeletons besides not apply animations.

Not to say that I never see vulgar chat. The vast majority of it, though, comes across as teenage boys trying to seem mature (ironically) with drug references or sexual chat.
Almost all of the vulgar or religious themed names I’ve reported seem to be about someone thinking they are being clever and funny, rather than promoting hate.
This is the experience I have had. Mostly kids who don’t get it.

Keep in mind the rating on this game is basically a PG movie…..so not all that dark.
What he said. They can try to make it as dark as they want, but it will pale in comparison to what they could accomplish if the game were rated M. That, however, would greatly reduce the audience of the game, and thus the revenue. So is the game ever fated to have a relatively shallow story, but that’s not why I’m playing anyway.

It’s fairly common for people to have trouble controlling spending when the money is easily accessible.
And that’s not entirely their faults… how, exactly? Last I checked it’s completely possible to not spend money on something if you’re trying to save. Impulse be kitten ed, if you don’t know what’s important to you, I fail to see why that’s anyone’s problem but your own.

Legendary armor sounds like an extraordinary development effort for little to no gain. We’re talking about 3 tiers of armor, 6 pieces per set, more than a couple of sets per tier, requiring unique artwork and effects for each set, and a drawn-out, lengthy method of acquiring each individual piece, presumably with either ascended armor as the starting point, or you’re doubling the number of armor pieces they have to make.
And for all those hundreds of hours of work, ANet gets a handful of hardcore players patting them on the back, and truckloads of others griping about gear grind. The only way they could make money on it is by doing something sneaky involving gems and mats, which people would pick up on right away and whine about P2W even more than they already do.
It’s a nice idea at the surface, but the effort it would take to implement would surely outweigh the returns by a longshot.

I’m a little skeptical of the idea of a Chronomancer. I know they really wanted to do it in Utopia, and never got the chance, but a class themed around controlling time sounds pretty difficult to do in an online game where synchronicity is very important, and trying to force the theme into such an environment seems as though it would necessitate watering down the typical chronomancer ideas to boring mechanics.
Besides that, Time Control is exclusive to SubGeniuses anyway! They can’t take that away from us!

It took a little while for me, and maybe it’s because most of my friends who have the game were never playing as much as they do now, but lately GW2 has been feeling more and more like GW1 felt to me years ago. I’m quite satisfied, and I’m excited to see what new things come in the expansion.
My only expectations about the expansion are the things they’ve confirmed so far. Unlike a very vocal group here on the forums, I’m not going to set my sights on the moon and get my knickers in a twist when ANet doesn’t deliver exactly what I want. I’ve enjoyed the game so far, and I’m sure I will continue to enjoy it, in healthy amounts.

The largest effect your stats have is on the speed of your battle. Zerker is higher DPS at higher risk of dying, so fighting goes quick. Tankier builds are lower DPS at lower risk of dying, making fights slower, which is undesirable for speedrunners.
Stop associating armor stats with the rest of build design. There is plenty of build diversity in weapons/traits/skills that need to be adjusted for different situations.

The most challenging content here involves coordinating 100 or more players with different languages, to take down a mega-boss. You can even AFK a lot of that and still get credit. How’s that for casual?
