If you don’t care about the avaible skins and you already have a bunch (between achi chests and some decent wvw activity), go for badges. Skin can always be altered.
If you’re too low on badges and in acquiring speed, AC or SE are probably the best bet, all AC paths are doable without much problems and that’s 180 token, SE same – butonly P1 and P3, p2 is too long to be worthwhile.
I’d say go for Honor if you want the skin (the set is quite nice), for raw token farming isn’t that good – p1 is ok, but p2 and p3 can be longhish (depending on team) and, most of all, involve water fighting.
It does need fixing asap.

Actually, i’m hella scared of pug anything and finding 4 ppl playing in full zerk “cause i’m able to do cof p1 thus i’m proplayer and can play zerk everywhere”.

(just for clarification: i’m not against ppl who play zerk. I’m against ppl who wants to play it w/o actually being skilled enough to – because cof p1 spoiled their measure on that, but can’t accept it, get in pug parties and then spend half of fights as carpet.)
First: mess up with traits. Atm too many minor traits are confusion related, thus making quite clunky improve the build trough those. More “always nice” minor traits, less based on confusion, then have them merged in some major traits – atm the confusion major traits can be counted dow on one hand – and those should be improved too. Like blinding defubblement, we have like 2 skills to blind enemies – aside traited glamours.
Second: up the dmg. Atm confusion is simply not worth using because ppl can autoattack trough it most of the time. A plain 50% dmg cut in wvw and spvp is just too much.
Third: with better traits and dmg, there needs to be something to balance out confusion application and uptime – which is what devs should have done instead of slap a lazy “halved dmg” balancing in spvp/wvw (especially second. i speak manly from a wvw perspective). Stacks cap should be lower that other conditions, 8-10 stacks are enough to be fearsome (per 50% dmg nerf) without becoming frustrating and uncounterable by opponent.
Also, they needs to decide what role should confusion have. Be a longish but not so damaging condition with a decent uptime, to scare ppl off spamming skills – or – a very strong dmg bursty and short duration condition, that you can slap almost instantly when you see a enemy acting to have him taking a lot of dmg but only once (using the “enemy is using a skill” as dmg carrier instead of interrupt it)?
Depending on answer, application/cooldowns/behavior of confusion should change accordingly.
Long pressure condition: just limit the amount of confusion that you can apply with glamours to 5 man limit (to prevent the wvw cry all over again, un-5man-capped application was op, not the cond), and uptime (CDs and durations) should be balanced to make quite hard to get the 8-10 stacks cap with one mes, but easy to mantain few stacks throughout almost the whole the fight. Behaviour unchanged. Traits focusing on duration.
Role of condition is punish the enemy for spamming too much when fighting the mes, which will have to rely elsewhere for killing off opponents tho – this confusion isn’t really a dps weapon, but a presistent pressure for unaware ppl.
Bursty condition: skills applying it should have not-too-short CDs, but be extremely fast or istant cast and applying almost the full confusion stacks cap. Duration should be very, very short and (added behaviour) confusion stacks (1 or 2) are removed each time they trigger. Traits focusing on dmg or additional confusion features when meeting certain situations.
Role of condition is straight-up dmg, but bound to the ability to apply it when enemy is casting something, elsewhere it will decay so fast that it will hardly have chances to tick again. Can become the main dps of a skilled mes.
PvE: as long as only few major attacks from mobs/bosses are taken in account for confusion, it will stay worthless anyway. But with a reshuffled traits (manly taking away all those unskippable minor traits all related to confusion) you will be able to ingore confusion completely in pve, rather than have it always around cause you spec in illusion line and see it ticking once a while for worthless dmg.
Finally, have scepter become a declared “condition” weapon (rework auto to apply condition, not confusion ofc…) and give us pistol as straigt up power weapon.

@OP: yeah, loot bags feels definitely off. It seems that something have been reverted to few months ago, before the “easy tagging” patch – when Devon said to us “all this bagz aren’t a bug, is intended!”. I think (and hope) that this is a bug (or unintended) and gets reverted asap. I sincerely doubt this might have been done due to champ new rewards, wvw would be unrewarding for most of the time even with those + normal bags drop.

MF gear was just the most dumb thing in GW2.
Zerk and current DG meta has nothing to do with it.
It’s referring on alts not getting 60 tokens anymore.
Before patch you could do a path → 60 token → let 1 or 2 hrs pass → redo same path on different char → 60 tokens again.
That just got deleted from game w/o even half a mention in notes.
The issues of WvW are totally fixable. It would not be easy nor istant, but ideas and solutions are already here, and always have been since beta.
The only, single, real, huge issue of WvW is that Anet don’t care.

Yes, that happens, no argue on that.
When you have only 1 commander/group on map it’s something bound to happen – but the thing is that as soon as there are chances to get away from that play we try to do it.
There are 3 guilds on map? Bam, 4 groups, don’t care if one of them get caught in 20vs80. We have 60 players backstabbing you somewhere else. In 3 different places.
Ofc it’s a playstyle that requires much more coordination, you need like 3/4 commander on the same map, and the groups must not melt as soon as the blob start to chase them, and overall feels more stressful than mindless blobbing while being not that much more rewarding. It’s not easy, so it’s not something we can pull off the whole day – which is the time when Sfr blobs the most, when there are 1 commander per map tops and thus everrybody on the field (no q aside EB btw) follow a single blue dot.
So yeah, blobbing happens, but it’s mentality and strive for changing playstyle as soon as it’s possible that makes the difference.
Also, just to clarify: SFR needs no more Eu guilds. Prime time is full. Day time is fine. Morning time is okish. It’s the late night (2:00 to 5:00) that is a giant black hole.
Because turning WvW into 70 different SPvP matches is exactly what everyone wants.
70x 5vs5 is bad.
1x 150vs150 is pathetic too though, and that’s the current situation.
5x 30vs30 is the best wvw experience i’ve ever had – but you need 2 other servers that plays that way, good/numerous commanders/guilds and it’s hard to mantain troughout the whole day.
Server transfer is fine. Everything that should be changed is how price is calculated – it should take in account WvW leaderboards ranks, if you’re transferring from a lower populated/tiered server up to a higher one or the opposite, and change up accordingly.
In other words, make very punishing hop from medium and low in ladder server to a very high pop and 3rd in ladder server, while making nearly free the opposite.
Devs always said that the game is balanced around spvp (and tpvp in particular).
Aside any consideration about balance even there (lol AoE condispam proskillz), as long as there are not splits – and i think you can count GW2 skill splits on a single hand, whereas GW1 understood the issue and had a LOT of splits – PvE and WvW suffer.
In PvE some skills that in spvp are balanced becomes useless (for example confusion/retaliation, aside the various nerfs) or broken (HBlades, jus to name the most glaring one).
Add in a incredibly swallow and lazy encounter design that tests nothing aside DPS (CC is useless, sustainability is not tested in any shape or form cause everybody have dodges – lol invunerability on a glass cannon w/o any skill or trait) and unbalance is just obvious.
Same thing for WvW – in upcoming patches they said (a couple fo sotg ago, iirc) that AoE dmg would get nerfed cause atm in spvp it’s easy to hit everything on a cap point. Now think if AoE dmg gets butchered what happens in wvw. Yeah.
Again, GW1 undrestood it, why they don’t learn from the lessons of previous game is beyond my understanding.
If a group ask for a gear ping, chances are they’re going to want you to have full berserker, and if you don’t, then why did you join? They will always make it clear on the lfg if they want a ping so it’s your fault if you enter and get booted, just how I won’t join an all classes casual run and then complain when it takes slave driver longer than a time warp to down.
That’s a different thing – from your wording seemed like every single group would do that as default, it’s obvious that if somebody write in the LFG “gearcheck zerk” i’m expecting that.

WvW is imploding at an amazing rate, and I have to say that it is very satisfying to watch.

Doubt that will suffice to make wvw rewarding, but considering that mats for ascended iirc will drop from them, it’s a start.

On topic: it’s down to how/with who/what you play.
For wvw, all the 4 classes you mentioned are viable. Ele staff is required for group play, guardian is the backbone of any zerg and mesmer…i just say “Veil”.
FoTM/arah, on paper Guard and Mesmer are better. I say “on paper” because if you pug or speedrun it then ppl are going to force you over those 2 compared to ele/engi.
But if you have 4 friends to play how kitten you want w/o hassle of carrying pugs or speedrunning in full kitten serker, then go for whatever you like to play and don’t care.
ps: Ele players are the ones who cry the most. Try out the class by yourself.

Nice additions of wallet and effects scaling BUT those are not really “thought out for wvw” even if they will affect it.

Just to report our stance: SFR community doesn’t tolerate in any shape or form hacking or exploiting.
We are mass reporting every player we get names and proofs cheating, they’re getting kicked by guilds and we are strongly telling everybody to do not trust fishy mesmers portals and keep an eye for cheaters.
As far as guilds goes: BOOM is dealing with this and already did few guildkicks, they have our totaly trust and respect, just few bad apples to find and sort out.
Different matter for YHW or whatever is called. It’s a guild of cheaters, they have never showed up in community channels, they don’t reply to whispers and almost every cheating attemp seen in past few days has been their fault.
We’re sorry this is happening, the matter is that apart mass reporting and trying to get our ppl aware of dishonest portals getting opened here and there, we can’t do much as long as Anet doesn’t move and ban those people permanently.
I hope you understand our position, having some guys cheating can happen to every server, we are doing everything in our power to get them out of the way.

I think Anet realizes mesmers ’ Achilles heel in the condi meta and working on it.

The only gripe with GW2 gem store, that it’s arguably one of (if not the) best ever seen, is the RNG component of some items.
Manly all the Black Lion Chest items added for events (fused/halloween/sclerite ect skins).
Ofc is possible to say that you don’t need a skin to play the game at all, and you can bet with BL keys with ingame gold and don’t risk any real money….but a lot of ppl do, and then you see cases of players dumping 60 euros of gems in keys in order to get a skin and yet getting just the random crap of BL chests.
That’s not good.

If they want to discourage Berserker they have to force sustainability. Instead of one powerful attack every 5-10 seconds enemies could attack every 0.5-1 seconds.

THe reason I quickly jump into the sPvP forums is because that’s usually the best place to talk overall game balance.
And this explains quite a bit why balance is out of whack.
This subforum is by far the least objective place to discuss balance, from my experience.
Are the prof forums better? Probably not.
Would PvE forums be better? Surely not.
Maybe make another little subforum for a stricty talk about balance? Selecting some “serious/good/obective/expert” players and have them as “filter” to discern QQ from feedback? Dunno, just a couple of ideas.
But seriously, even without taking in account the issues that the spvp centric balance is causing in PvE and WvW (wich actually do is a issue, mind you), this subforum is terrible for a balance discussion, manly because literally flooded by QQ, mistaken as actual objective feedback and with correlated (wrong) balance notes way too many times.
(please note: i’m not saying that there aren’t serious and objective feedback about balance. But when it’s literally submerged by the flood of QQ, discerning what to rely on and what to ignore gets more and more difficult. )

That’s not the point, it’s matter of a flawed system based around population, coverage and holding points, plus all the blobbing, lag and associated issues (that just get encouraged by game’s rules) which makes it getting boring after a while.

Problem is there are two kind of stealthers, those who know how to use it, and spammers.
Spammers just use it all the time to make for a infuriating experience, all that while dispensing 8k backstabs that cant be stopped with aegis nor shields because you can block them but it wont matter, it wont get them ut of stealth until it lands.
Then there are the people who know how to sue it and do the same exat thing as the spammers but these people are smart enough to walk around the only possible thing that damage them; AoE. But then again, you can land one or 2 ticks on AoE on them but due to their free regen, swiftness while in stealth they will heal it off and get out of the field before its too late.
As you can see the only thieves/mesmers you should be able to kill are those who have no knowledge of the game and its mechanics, everyone else has a free way with stealth. The main reason I dont step ino sPvP and why i havent considered PvP seriously and nobody else will ever take it seriously as an esport is because of the poor balance this game has. Everything was built on PvE, there are no PvE differentiation, even though this game has so many fewer skills that other games in other games we still have, one year into release only 2 devs working on balance, no way they can balance the game.
Its obvious that balance in this game (when it comes to PvP) has always favored Mesmers and Thieves, their “mechanics” are simply too OP, and while you canlearn to counter mesmers once you learn how the clones work, you cant counter thieves because even if you are one yourself YOU. SIMPLY. CANT. DO. SHIET. ABOUT. STEALTH.
Just saying, Mesmer’s stealth is nowhere comparable to Thief’s one in terms of uptime.
Decoy is on 40s CD, MI is elite and 90s, Veil is 90s and incredibly clunky to use, Prestige on torch is on a 20s CD (iirc) and have nice effects but iMage is so s*it that almost nobody use torch.
Thieves can stealth with CnD, a meele skill with no CD, as long as they have the ini for that and the target. Or combo HS (up to 5 times in a row) in a smoke field (like pistol 5). Or Cluster bomb (up to 5 times in a row) in a smoke field. And have a stealth related heal, the dome (12 sec alone) another smoke field, a istant aoe stealth, plus various traits.
Atm even Rangers have more stealth uptime than Mesmers trough the new LB skill.
As far as buffs goes, Mes get PU with 30 pts in chaos, and that’s a very good trait…but thieves can get 50% movement speed, faster ini regen, cond cleanse, blind when stealthing, regen in stealth, and access to the stealth skills like BS.
So, Mesmer’s stealth is actually waaaaaaaaaaaaay more balanced than Thief’s one – the only plus they have is Veil being non target capped wich makes it crucial in wvw, but that’s it.
