Just pointing out that yes, Warriors are good in wvw zergs but they shines there because they have ppl covering their lack in self sustain – without guardians and eles bakcup they’d be much more fragile.
Any nerfs to CoF1 are welcome changes.
Not just that – there is a buff to other DGs paths (and harder/longer paths = bigger rewards),plus an incentive to play different DGs troughout a whole day.

People that are complaining about warriors in WvW are clueless as to what the current meta is to be honest. The best guilds are running them for a reason…. because they own face in a melee train.
They are the dmg frontline of meeletrains, sure, but keep in mind that w/o the backup of guardians and eles babysitting them warriors would have a much tougher time.
That’s what is called “group play”.
Ive been thinking about this for a while. Had some ideas on what would be most appropriate to give to each class.
Necro – sword
Warrior – torch
Guard – warhorn
Eng – mace/hammer
Thief – rifle
Ranger – hammer
Unsure about mes and ele. Maybe offhand dagger for mes and torch for ele?
Mesmer are asking another MH ranged option (read: Pistol) since betas, so we can split up power and condition dmg from scepter and give it a proper identity.
As far as ele goes, another weapon could be useful, sure, but i’d like to see focus improved and conjured weapons act more like engi kits or so, that would be already a massive improvement.

All a large chunk of people want is the highest dps possible so they can speed clear.
While this is true, the issue there is PvE, not Ele.
It’s PvE that is ridicolous and broken by raw DPS outperfoming any other approach the problem.
I disagree – CoE is very popular across both guild runs and pugs (but manly P1 there) for the charged drop, level 80 loot and quite nice looking armor/weapons (with zerk stat too).

That’s the issue – pugs run only P1 cause alpha there is far easier (well, for who can’t count to 3 and dodge i guess) than P2/3 versions, rather than more rewarding/fast.

-it gives a nice impression, and dialogue with devs is always good to have
-looking at patches and real game happenings, yes, they do not care much of WvW – took 7 months to fix culling, then got this lazy WXP thing and now 1 perk at month (60 second for design) is all the “content” wvwers are getting. thus having no responses in forums aggravates that feeling.

2 things Gw2 did extremely well: combat overall and the 0 gear treadmill (ascended is still not needed except for fractal, exotics are enough for everything.)

These characters need long range weapons as well, especially in WvW. It also would be helpful if the guardians could use stealth as well so they can protect the other characters. Think about it. Guardians are the first people to die especially in WvW
Man, you’re doing it wrong, a LOT.
Simply because atm WvW rewards coverage and number over any kind of skill, thus bigger servers will always win regardless of being unable to win a single open field fight with no ACs involved or outnumbering you 3:1.
Thus a reward for winner would make no sense.
Again, SYG is almost locked.
Then, depending on build:
-SY, HtL, Retreat are always valid options
-Wall of Reflection can do wonders if you’re facing dumb blobs of autoattackers
-Sanctuary + GtAoE Consacrations is very useful, a bit niche and requires a coordinated group to get the best out of it tho
-JI is decent paired with hammer for the Ring of Warding + teleport, nice lock for spiking
Don’t get your hopes up. He said that the problems with professions etc. was balancing. So adding a new weapon is hard to balance aswell.
While this is true, you have to conssider that adding another weapon can help to balance others.
Take as example Mesmer Scepter. It’s been since release (when they got rid of conf on auto) that neither players or Anet can tell if it’s a power weapon (auto is just dmg, but it’s hella slow, and 2+3 still pack dmg) or condition (torment and confusion). It’s there in the middle ground, being terrible at anything.
Adding another ranged MH (aka: Pistol) would allow to finally give an identity to Scepter in a full condition (most likely) or power weapon by giving the other spec to the MH Pistol.
If have to, i’d say Bolt – i was going for it then changed mind.
As other said, on my Mesmer there is one weapon that is ALWAYS there. And that’s Sword.
Scepter is just not viable compared to sword, aside some niche builds (imo. personal preference), so unless i’m using GS/Staff (which i never do) i’ll always have decked the Sword.
Second close the Staff – i like it much more than GS.
And that’s it – in theory there are the GSs, but i deeply dislike the look of Twilight and Sunrise. They’re just ugly.
Again: you may take away few tools, but if players wants to blob, they’ll find a way to do so unless you make them unable to stay physically close to each other.
Leave tags alone, the solution is elsewhere.
I’ve gone for the G300, Logitech.
Not too big, 30ish Euros iirc, solid (mine is 1-2 year old and is still as day one), and have few buttons (2 near left click, 2 near right click, 2 near the scrolling wheel, round total of extra 6 buttons), and have a nice software + 3 different setting profiles saved.
Might not be the top if you’re planning to use it in a much more button mashing MMOs (where you have 30 or so skills), but for GW2 is just perfect: placed there utilities + elite, call target and weapon swap, and that’s enough.
I’d just say: if you’re planning it because you’re genuinely intererested in GW1, go for it.
If you just want to farm some APs, stick to GW2. 500 AP takes like 10 to 50 times less than making 50/50 (depending on player and other things).

Get off the AC and go down bashing them.
Golems melts like butter, they tons of HP but 0 healing/sustain and can’t be healed by other players, so they’re pretty easy to down.
But you’re not going anywhere as long as you don’t leave siege (namely, ACs), because they’re immune (iirc) to it.

True, but you can enjoy 99% of PvE content (especially if you’re just delving the stories for lore and not digging HM/DG and such things) alone atm, thanks to henchmens and heroes.
PvP, don’t know how’s the activity atm, but iirc there are some diehard guilds still there – i wouldn’t suggest to give PvP a serious try w/o a guild to backup and teach you.
I think you would see more of a “EU Approach” honestly.
I may be a bit biased as Eu player, but i think that pushing WvW towards the “EU way” (multiple smaller zergs) of playing should be one of Anet priorities.
Because it’s incredibly easy to play while retaining a decent performance.

Is already possible to use the “party up and target leader” trick for zerg without commander tag. Especially if on a Voip – and a lot of servers have a public TS or similar platform. And even taking in account a super casual player w/o Voip neither target on leader, blobs are so large that some of them just follows the movement of the mass of players there wouldn’t be a noticeable difference.
What people complain about is Blobbing, not Zerging.
You may say “Where’s the difference, former is bigger than latter and that’s it”, but the issues are deeper.
Blobbing is skill-less playing. Turn off brain and follow blue tag. It brings lag for the whole map. It makes the game unenjoyable and boring. Just gather the whole map population of your side to commander and start running around like a mass of locusts.
“Zerging” is a smaller group, which means you have 2-3 or more of them on the field at same time. Zergs are usually guild groups, 20-30ish size. Zerg vs Zerg has no lag. No lag + Guild team = skill matters. Having multiple zergs at same time on map rewards tactical playing and coordination for striking your enemy hard and on multiple fronts.
The issue is that a lot of servers are leaning on the formet kind of play, cause due to game mechanics is easier to run and thus usually more effective. Which is making WvW less and less enjoyiable day by day.
Staff Elementalist is required for group play in WvW.
Role: Support/CC/Utility.
Manly deploying combo fields (staff ele is the only weapon that carry all the 3 you want to use: Fire, Water and Lighting for Might, Heal and Swiftness), have stronk CC with Static (AoE Stun ignoring 5 target limit) Frozen Ground Unsteady Ground and Shockwave. Massive AoE condition cleanses with proper spec and gear.
The DPS is not your job. Soldier gear is a solid choice (and will give you almost 3k power), but i see a lot of ppl running this build with 0 offensive stats, like Shaman (massive Vit and Healing). It’s designed for group play + full support and thus horrible in roaming and dps, but when your Static/Frozen is the ultimate lock for bombing the enemy and the Healing Rain + blasting a massive lifesaver, i don’t care the less of dmg.
Zergbreaking Earthshaker hands down.

Why do WvW updates always encourage blobbing?
One out of two:
-they want to cater casuals cause they’ve finally decided to downgrade WvW to PvP for bored Pvers to cater them to the “pro Esport” Spvp, so they actually want zerging and skillless playing.
-they have no clue about WvW.
Your effectiveness would be horrid.
Main issue isn’t losing functionalities of other 15 skills, but the fact that the CDs of the single skills are designed taking in account the 4-skill bar rotations.
They’re far too long to play single attunement cause you’re supposed to cycle trought other 3 skillsbars before need to fire a skill again.
