There’s no question about whether or not the dungeon community is atrocious, it goes without saying; everyone I talked to in the game, when on the subject of dungeons, says they avoid them because of the community… what’s more is, if they didn’t act kitten, there wouldn’t be 100 threads about it. The topic is the asinine behavior of the dungeon community, has started to leak into the open world (which, I guess was inevitable, unfortunately).
are you familiar with the concept called “taxi”?
Its where you would post and lfg, and try to get as many as possible into the zone. To do this you have to have people leave party, or kick them. This is so you can get more people join into the zone.
Dungeons, your complaint is 99% of the time coming from people who don’t know how to read the lfg description, so my sympathy for you is none.
Also calling everyone else morons is going to result in people kicking you, just because its you.

Actually the writs are the ones that can be traded at 20:1. The scrolls are being converted directly into spirit shards.

Keeps them relevant once you have all chars at 80. Same reason tomes of knowledge will give spirit shards.
I think people underestimate some condition builds. Group theoretical cond damage right now is over 11k.
Build up time & overlapping conditions bring that down. But vuln changes & increased cond damage with the change might actually make condi warrior good enough to be competitive, if not the absolute best.
Aside from my thought : sinister > rabid..
the utility food.. reminded me:
Potions don’t affect condi damage.
Which is a huge thorn in the side of condi being accepted in dungeon parties.

I’d expect it to be a fairly low priority, but it’d be a nice QoL improvement.
From what I remember, AN is holding back on much of the API functionality they could produce due to OAuth limitations. I vaguely remember reading a post that things like viewing/speaking in guild chat was on the todo list. I also remember reading they were waiting on the development of OAuth2 before allowing us to connect to the login-servers by means other than website/game client.
Having the aura scale with power & possibly healing power ( keep the base similar to that of the current vampiric numbers) was an idea I was toying with also. Thinking is should probably scale on the necros stats too ( like regen now does with casters hp).
Naturally the coeffs would need to be fairly low, as mentioned above, scaling to around 100-150/hit using all major stats would be nice.
After rewatching the twitch stream, it looks like it’s quite possible for the aura to be a trait applying it periodically, similar to spotter. Which means we could have a trait named “Aura of the Vampire”.
Looked like it was a minor, or master-tier trait from what was selected.
I suspect there may well be some combo changes.
Maybe some trait that gives ‘vampiric aura’ could be named aura of the vampire.
I just think it’d be cool for nostalgia purposes to be so similarly named to a gw1 skill that did something equally similar.
No idea if there has been discussion on the name of the life-steal type aura that was mentioned in the reworking of blood magic.
My opinion is ‘Aura of the Vampire’ would be a pretty sweet name for it.

One thing I thought about for 10 man instanced content would be the removal of the 5 man buff limit would be needed. Only needing one warrior to fully buff everyone in a 10 man group is a lot more freeing than requiring two, or two thieves needed for stealth etc.
I would hope that the party buff limit is removed so we can get a bit more diversity than 2w, 1g, 2t, 4x ele.
Depending on the stealth skips, I’m pretty sure you could get away with one thief. You’d just need blasts from both parties in the smoke field.

That cost to upgrade was an irritating gold sink, and was a chore to remember to fire them off ( or waiting for supply to come in to do so).
It also increases the value of being a roamer because you have more purpose to roam a supply line and speed up those yaks.
Not to forget it could make it much more enjoyable for a small guild/group to decide to take up residence for an evening in an enemy tower/keep and see how long they could hold it.
All in all it seems like a very nice QoL change for WvW.

There is a radical alternative that I haven’t seen mentioned in a while:
Change WvW to use the PvP equipment sets ( and therefore also traits/skills).
I know some don’t like this due to customization and wanting to out-gear enemies.
However it would also solve problems like up-levels being a rally-bot in zergs.
Maybe racials will be unlocked by default?
Once the skill slots open up that is.
Why not allow individuals to vote then?
You solve the issue of how to weight a guilds vote.
It also allows you to get a better idea of what the populace wants/thinks, rather than just a select few.
A voting system which allows 10,000 votes is no more difficult to put together than a voting system that allows 10 votes.
Also by excluding people who have not set records also makes new-comers seem unwelcome. Unless that is the idea?
You can use multiple weapons out of combat ( by swapping from inventory or hero panel) to get more blast finishers. You can also strafe around or through a mob or simply backpedal and avoid some attacks, conserving dodges for bigger, harder hitting attacks.
Also while less interesting to play ( in a perfect party*), staff builds are often easier to stay alive due to range, and tend to have higher damage.
- I say a perfect party, because a staff ele has huge amounts of utility to help out its team too, if you rotate out of fire attunement.
You could also try using lightning hammer for blast finishers during fights ( which means a lot of letting auto attack do the work, but gives you time to work on your positioning and learning the animations of enemy attacks).
It sounds like you’re doing a pretty fine job as an ele though!
PS) your english seems perfectly fine to me.

It did look low for the GS damage numbers. But those are the easiest thing to change in the code, so maybe they just haven’t bothered to consider balance of that too much yet.
I wonder if we could convince anet to make the shout that transfers condi to affect allies? With a suitable cd/balance of course.
Making them also affect allies would really make them shine in group fights ( let’s face it, going 1v5 in pvp is basically suicide). But also PvE..
My gut thought with it though ( balance of dps and such pending): Easy mode volcanic fractal.
Which perhaps is the kind of thing anet was aiming for. It may be a little slower- but if it makes a fractal smoother & reliable, it’ll often be more fun/relaxed.
It does look like it’s going for a mirror to the guardian though, debuffs in place of boons and such, which I find a really nice place to have the necro.

TPMN has trouble with overlays at the moment, due to a pc which is way overdue upgrade. They have tended to flicker and be generally make for unpleasant viewing.

Plenty of blinds/chills/vuln/slow would make reaper quite desirable. It might be a little lower on dps – but could make “challenging content” significantly easier.

Necromancers could have been the condition variant of amplification I feel. You have empower allies with warrior, Necromancers could have gotten the condition variant with amplification of condition durations, potency(outside of might, there are sigils that directly amplify condition potency by a flat percentage, it was possible to do this with traits), etc.
With conditions becoming more of a thing in HoT I feel like it was a missed opportunity for them.
I think it’s a little early to say reaper definitely won’t have that as a trait option.

Keep an eye on the vuln, cause you may want to run 66002 for weak spot and tempest if you’re getting good stun uptime. Quick glyphs can also be a real helper for storms or elements(elite). Personal dps difference is minimal, but the vuln makes up for it & is party wide.
So many ifs/buts/maybes in build crafting ;-)
I think Ranger would be much closer to meta if their melee weapon of choice didn’t bounce them off of cliffs like a rabbit in heat. And for what it’s worth, party buffs and being able to contribute to Might/Fury/Vuln would certainly help the Necromancer’s case.
Would love to see that ranger sword rework! ( I’m imagining lemmings with bunny ears atm).
Depends how HoT content turns out too. The reapers debuffing may actually be quite valuable. I suspect it may well have its place. Traits/skill effects and damage dependant.
Piercing shards has two requirements:
- vulnerability,
- IN water attunement.
Generally Taking this take over blasting staff is a bad idea. I guess something like AC where in a very high dps team a single ice storm can kill most bosses it has its niche on a staff ele.
But that is a pretty kittenumption about the strength of the rest of your party – one which is rarely going to occur in practice.
Blasting staff gives you: more hits with MS; easier to keep foe in lava font; bigger area to blast; larger water fields when things go wrong etc..
I personally love taking an SF/LH ele using 54050 due to being able to auto on the LH in water attunement, and getting a lot of extra support out of it over say 66200 SF/LH ( which has slightly higher dps afaik).
Don’t really understand what you’re getting at since nobody bothers following record run tactics in daily runs because they take far more coordination and brain cells along with the risk of wiping continuously.
The idea of unrestricted records is to break the agreed record running rules (such as using terrain skips/ special consumables) to achieve better times.

This how our daily tours go. We even had a pug who’s never ran with us before in that particular run.
Risk of wipes? What risk of wipes? No higher than any pug I’ve seen. Lower if anything.
Something like might stacking or blasting smoke fields for stealth is considered high coordination/high brain function now? (except I’ve also been in pugs which do this..)
Or maybe “drop wall on this boss, then hallowed ground” is this considered hard to do now?

Just wanted to point out that when I pug arah I see PHIW’s edging lupi into a wall for the one shot with WoR because they lack the knowledge to do the other parts of the fight or are possibly really lazy. Also strangely enough, I have seen PHIW’ers stacking in corners that are no longer the best idea since FGS got the nerf. I don’t quite understand it but I guess it’s just people stuck in a mould, even PHIW’s are susceptible to that.
Btw I’m happy to map even though I hate mapping to get my legendary. Why? Because it’s supposed to appeal to multiple aspects of the game.. To show that you put in effort. Also there’s SW only loot isnt there? like that beta portal and the bee thing that gives the cool aura. I’d like those but I don’t like doing SW.. I don’t really mind though.

We have very few who can do that fight properly yet, so walled as usual. Had good eles and burnt through phase 2 before I could drop the wall of reflect. Had to do it normal way anyway. Was an awesome day.

So if it retains the huge 180s cooldown, and the 4s+ cast time, make it also affect downed allies? Reduced cast time to say 2-3s would also be nice to make it a bit more usable though.

Seems like it could do with a buff along with being made base – sword should be at least competitive with mace dps.

Even with that as baseline, It seems odd to me that sword will have potentially lower dps than mace due to the symbol damage trait in zeal.
With the trait changes, Those are the only effects I would use from the tomes anyway so.. Definitely +1 for this change.
