I did and I was still able to enter.
My question for those that did not receive credit for a particular run is when did they enter the zone (invasion progress) and how much did they contribute. I’m starting to think that you can’t just afk and get credit. I’m not accusing people of doing this. There just could be a participation threshold you must reach to receive credit for the achievement.
This was likely done because of the excessive zerging in Queensdale. You could gain levels fairly quickly.
Uh.. no. DR has been in the game for a long time, and it is supposed to combat against bots, but as per usual, it hurts actual players a lot more.
DR never affected dynamic event karma and exp before so no it never existed except for drops. If it existed before then people would not have been farming the boss events in Queensdale to level toons.
It was implemented in October of last year to combat the Plinx farmers. The threshold was set that you only really hit it when zerging events in Orr. This is the first time since they nerfed those events that you can hit enough events to hit it again.
Again, I’m referring to EXP/Karma from dynamic events; NOT loot drops.
Not Anet’s fault for you clicking to travel to the main map.
Apparently you didn’t understand – these are ANETS words, NOT MINE:
“All overflow maps created within 10 minutes of the start of the invasion will host a concurrent version of that hour’s event.”
It’s not happening and it needs to be fixed – that’s all I said.
If they are going to SAY it will be CONCURRENT within 10 minutes, then IT SHOULD BE.
And you did t understand me. Concurrent means they happens at the same time. This does not mean that they finish at the same time.
This was likely done because of the excessive zerging in Queensdale. You could gain levels fairly quickly.

She’s really working for the jungle elder dragon…
There are two options that you have to select. I think there is one for models on screen and one for textures. I could be mistaken as I haven’t really looked into that much. If there isn’t an option to select the number of models then maybe a suggestion to Anet is to add a slider bar to do this.
Depending on your graphics card, yo most likely would be better off with a higher end CPU. Unlike a lot of games, this one relies more on the CPU than the GPU.
Not really a “dungeon” at all, and can be soloed.
Then they should stop labeling it as ‘suggested 5 players’.
Agreed. For the longest time people thought it was impossible to solo SAB because of that.
You can solo it in like 10 minutes. The most “difficult” part is protecting Faren and that’s not really all that bad. The boss fights are incredibly easy.
Did you log them or are you going off memory?
As far as the OP, you must close 5 portal within 15 minutes of closing the first one.
You mean 4 more after the first one goes?
Yes. My phrasing probably wasn’t the clearest.
Similar but not the same. It’s not a one time event, you don’t spend hours trying to complete the invasion, and there is hardly as much lag.
This was likely done because of the excessive zerging in Queensdale. You could gain levels fairly quickly.
Unless they specifically state something in permanent, assume its only temporary.
Countless people on map chat and the forums are having similar issues so I figured I would consolidate my responses into a single thread.
General Tips:
- Read the in-game mail that is sent to you. It usually points you in the initial direction for the current living story. If you did not receive it, or deleted it, log on to a different character.
- There are heralds in the game (I believe they have the scroll icon on the map in town) who will give further advice. There are scouts at most zone entrances that do the same as well.
- When doing achievements, READ the achievement entirely. People often skim the achievement, can’t complete them as a result, and the complain them to be bugged.
- Physically make a list of what you have completed if you have to do multiple objectives for an achievement that are not individually tracked. Examples would be dungeon master and diving master.
- Read the patch notes
- Read the starter guide Anet created and other guides people created if you’re stuck.
For the current Living Story:
- Access to the Pavilion is regained once you complete Emissary Vorp’s achievements and completed the Funhouse. You may not have to complete the funhouse but I haven’t tested it.
- The achievements that have you complete invasions for Clockwork and Vorp require them to be on DIFFERENT maps. Essentially you must complete invasions on 13 unique maps to finish the achievements that involve this.
- The Funhouse is available after you finish Vorp’s achievements.
- You cannot start collecting components for Vorp until you completed five UNIQUE invasions first.
- Swift Closer achievement is gained by participating (and receiving credit) for five portal events within 15 minutes of closing the first. Some state you should have a buff but I never noticed it.
- Make a list of every invasion that you completed. This is so you don’t accidentally do one you’ve already done hoping for credit.
- Pavilion and Gauntlet still are available until Sept 3rd
Tips for the invasions:
- Split up into smaller groups to do the events. You cover more ground and they don’t scale up too much. This is more important on higher level maps such as Frostgorge.
- Don’t attack Scarlet until after the third wave
- Don’t attack mobs after the dynamic event completes. Completing the events decreases the bar quicker.
- Don’t kill groups of mobs that you don’t need to. If you already depleted the bar for Aetherblades, don’t attack them anymore.
- Call out bugged events so people don’t keep going to them. Frostgorge is full of them.

If you look at the achievements for him you will see the components part if grayed out. Hovering over it will tell you that you must complete 5 DIFFERENT invasions as a prerequisite.
Five DIFFERENT invasions is required to finish the Evorp meta or whatever the Asura is called. Thirteen DIFFERENT invasions is required to finish up the Clockwork meta. All of this can be seen by going to the achievement tab for each one and reading the descriptions.
It’s 5 different maps. I believe that the achievement and/or his dialogue states this. There likely is not a bug and people are just not reading the achievements completely.
Did you do the story instance first?
As far as invasion canceler, the achievement says DIFFERENT maps.

I think you need them to gain access or maybe it’s just the relay you need. If you don’t plan to go into the funhouse ever again, you can delete them.
Wait. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Experience_Scroll
My characters are at least one year old. I never received this scroll. Checked mail; no dice.
Guild Wars 2 went live on August 28th last year.
Today is August 21st.
Nice try
Fixed.
I don’t think they rolled out birthday gifts yet. It’s likely coming next week since the game wasn’t released until August 28th, 2012. I’m not sure if the early start players will get theirs sooner though.
Also be aware that one of the achievements requires 13 maps completed. Unless you plan on staying up late the last few days, I suggest doing them between now and then.
Read the achievement. You must do it for Fireheart Rise and Frostgorge. Only those two count for that particular achievement.
As far as the OP, you must close 5 portal within 15 minutes of closing the first one.
This is why you stop what you’re doing a few minutes before the new hour and wait for the meta status to update. You then immediately go to any wp on that map. Not difficult.
Not Anet’s fault for you clicking to travel to the main map.
As always, when you have to do an X number of unique things, it’s best to make a list to keep track. This is the same for diving master and dungeon master. Check it off when you see yourself receive credit.
Accounts rarely get hacked. The only time I have seen actual hacking was on the iPhone app Order & Chaos. Your info was not secured and someone in the vicinity of your character could grab your info.
Most likely the same email address of the user “hacked” is used in this game and everywhere else. They register to websites, those website get compromised, and people have your info. This is why you NEVER give out an email address tied to something you’re not willing to lose.
The majority of the time it is the user’s fault.
Here’s official confirmation that people have another 2 weeks to complete all of the gauntlet achievements:
Yes, you will be able to play the Queen’s Gauntlet after August 20th.

I’m sure this is unintentional and wasn’t considered when champions were given loot bags. There’s a meta in Curse Shore where you can get over 40 gilded strongboxes in 7 minutes easily. This is because the camp ions spawn continuously during the event and I’ve counted upwards to four up at one time. This is the Secure the Pact staging area at Shank Anchorage which is part of the Arah chain.
Just farm the 1st champion over and over. That’s what I did when someone made such a fuss about it.
IC and those last 25 points are a MUST for pve and the damage loss is not as bad you also get faster phantasm attack rate (les sthan stated by tooltip btw).
You also get bleeding on crit……to makes up for the loss of dps in the end the only nerf that hurts is BF 10 sec instead of 8 <.<
Can you elaborate how IC is necessary? My phantasms rarely go down before the cool down on their skill is up. I have not noticed much of a difference in DPS since the update months ago. I did trait to get IC after the update but went back as I didn’t feel it was worth it.
There’s a trait to remove a condition on shatter but it’s at the end of a trait line and there’s a cool down I think.
Guardian has retreat, save yourselves, and the staff skill. I always have swiftness up.
Yes. It’s annoying when I have to confirm it. I would rather this be on exotics only which tend to be worth more.
Why not cut the 25 in illusions for 30 in dueling for fury, -20% cooldowns on sword and pistol skills, guaranteed projectile combo with the pistol plus 300+ precision and 30%+ crit damage? You get the faster phantasm cooldowns but I think you even get extra precision when you have your sword and pistol equipped as well.
.
It’s because a large percentage of the mesmer player base essentially handicapped themselves by relying on IC before the nerf that they are incapable of playing without it.
I’m all for higher difficulty. People that find it too difficult can just skip it. To don’t need to get those achievement points.
To add clarification, I did the explorer achievement for the posters about two months ago when they became an a visible achievement. The character I’m tried to do the heart with was created last Sunday. The doors respawn quick enough thakittens not that big of an issue.
I’m doing the heart in Fields of Ruin and noticed that there are no separatist propaganda posters to tear down. I have not touched these since I did the explorer achievement with them. I think something about that achievement may be causing them not to reset.
Except people will likely not. They’d rather farm 5+ champions in the time it would takes to find and kill the one champion that hasn’t been killed in awhile. RNG is still RNG so whatever increase that is made would likely not be noticeable.
It seems that people now only go to a handful of maps that have quick spawning, close champions that they can just farm over and over. Just look at Queensdale for an example. People farm these for the champion loot bags or for the EXP from completing the dynamic event.
In all other aspects of the game, there is DR that limits farming and pushes players to try other areas. Dungeons originally had rewards that were character bounds but now they’re account bound in an effort to get players to do other dungeons. No farming CoF repeatedly. Boss events original had daily awards that were character bound but were later hanged to be account bound. Regular drops run on a DR system. The only thing that doesn’t are champion loot bags and EXP from dynamic events.
This all started after the champion monthly was introduced recently. Players noticed they could receive large amounts of EXP quickly so tarted farming them on alts. This is EXP from the Dynamic event, not the actual champion. Now a week ago all champions drop loot bags with a chance at rare items and crafting materials. Queensdale is even more populated as well as a few other locations on some maps.
This has led to a lot of arguments when players who are just playing the game happen to kill a champion out of order. They then receive threats/abuse through map chat or PM’s. I remember one person being told they should go kill themselves. These highly farmable events have just created a great deal of hostility.
My suggestion was that some form of DR be put in place that reduces the EXP you receive from farming the same event as well as the likelihood of receding a champion loot bag. This will get people to go to other maps and farm champions on a global scale rather than just a few maps.
There will have to be a balance. It should fall between where it’s worth it to farm champions but not to the point where a stable zerg forms. Maybe respawn times can be tweaked that if a champion is killed repeatedly in a certain time frame that their respawn time increases to a point.
You need the npc to be alive.
I’ll also point out that length/time is based on doing the path without exploiting. If you’re saying path 2 is the quickest because you can exploit then you’re wrong.
Of people farming Spider Queen in AC or the one champ in CoE before you choose your path.
If you’re referring to hunter and crusher then yes. I found them easier than the one boss in path 2 where you have to use the guns off the inquest.
Edit: Just realized that you’re referring to the orb and it’s because I was on Mesmer and used portal. After realizing this, it may actually not be possible for a lot of classes to solo so maybe path 2 is better.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
I personally found path 3 easier.
My take on this is that you’re fine doing levels 10-19 without any AR. Just keep your health at full during the dredge boss and stay in the corner where stepped onto the platform when Maw does its agony attack. Take the time while doing these fractals to learn what the agony attacks are and how to avoid them.
Once you get to 20+, you will need the max recommended AR for that tier unless you can avoid the agony attacks. I say this from my experience with pugs and how annoying it is to keep reviving them over and over and over.
If you don’t have AR, and can’t dodge the dredge boss’ room wide agony attack, you will get downed. Depending on where you are, he may finish you off before you can be revived. You also put your team at risk to revive you. At Maw, stay in the corner where you got onto the platform. Without at least 15 AR for level 20-29 you will get downed as you can’t heal through it.
Once you hit 30+ then you should be nearing the max AR possible. This is unless you can dodge all of the attacks which is something most people who say you don’t need AR neglect to mention.
Do tier 3 and tier 4 in the same instance. You’ll get credit.
If people are worried about getting credit, do tier 3 then tier 4 in the same instance. Better to do tier 3 twice than tier 4.
