Wow. Another AC thread.
What do you mean by learning how to break the mechanics? If you want advice on the dungeon, I can help.
Maybe different stat combinations but that would be it. A lot of people spend it on those jewelry boxes from the karma vendors in Orr.
Ele, Warrior, Guardian, and Mesmer are my mains. They’re all used for different purposes. You can add my ranger if acting as a bank/mule counts as a purpose.
You say it’s unlikely but it is very possible. This will just lead to more inflation to the game economy.
As far as I’m aware, all armor skins in PvE are in PvP and vice versa.
As long as the reward is gold (or karma) only then I’m for it. No laurels. No bonus gold either otherwise people will farm it. Yes this system can and will be abused.
Having them available for 25 pristine relics is way to low. It should be 200 or so. They are for looks and provide no value other than that.
As long as they are in your region (can’t guest between NA and EU servers), when someone in your group enters the dungeon all players receive the prompt to enter on e they’re on the map.
It having the lowest recommended level does not mean it should be the easiest. Explorable yields tokens which are used to get level 80 exotics. The rares will be quickly outdated once you’ve gotten enough tokens for them.
Ascended does not give you a significant advantage.
Good point to come back to my original question: how can the difference between our damage output be 18% instead of 4%?
You’re comparing stats on the gear rather than the cumulative effect on the character. You’re ignoring diminishing returns and the impact that a small increase has on a large number.
The reason why so many people are coming out against skipping mobs these days is because of the increasing number of stupid people that think they can apply that logic to every other dungeon situation. Then when they run into an encounter that actually requires some semblance of brain activity, like Fractals for example, they fail miserably and take the rest of the group down with them.
Skipping simply breeds incompetence, since it doesn’t teach players anything about game mechanics, or even reminds people of basic MMORPG tactics. Hell, I don’t even think anyone on this game but a skant few people even know how to AoE large groups of weaker mobs anymore, how Line of Sight works, or hell, even the fact that they have a kitten dodge button for a reason. You wouldn’t believe the number of parties I run into that keep failing on the first Grawl Shaman encounter in Fractals because I was the only one in the group that actually knew how crowd control works.
If you have already done the dungeons normally numerous times and just want to get through it, fine, do whatever, but for people that haven’t, teaching them to skip everything just shows them how to be lazy and idiotic.
No. Skipping is not the reason for bad players. You also do not skip in FotM except for certain parts (grawl past the bats, dredge after bomb/drill door, etc). Skipping is a technique that requires skill as opposed to auto-attacking everything that’s in a dungeon.
People prefer to skip what they can because trash mobs are not worth the time. They take too long to kill for the majority of pugs. An optimized group can kill them quickly but they most likely will skip them as well. Until ANet makes them like the ones in the F&F dungeon, people will continue to skip them. They likely will still do so even after they are changed.
There’s no need to criticize those that want to skip. Do you want to be criticized for wanting to kill everything? Everyone has the right to play how they want. If you want to kill everything then form a group with that intention. Just be aware that skipping is the norm so don’t expect to join a random group and that people will kill everything.

Dailies and monthlies are not a grind. You can easily do them by PLAYING the game. Things are only a grind because people are impatient and want it now. Ascended does not give you a significant advantage. Maybe it will later in times when gear and weapons are available but not at the moment. The argument that you shouldn’t have to do something to get something because you don’t like to do it is wrong as well.
Grenth now open on TC
Umm… ALL MMO’s were group focused. It’s only recently that a few games have let people do more things solo.
WoW was not the first MMO. I know you didn’t state that but it’s the first MMO that I can think of that did the whole solo thing.
You’ll likely receive flak from people since this is a massive MULTIPLAYER online game. There’s still the vast majority of PvE content that you can enjoy solo. However, I do support dungeons being soloable except the loot must scale by the number of people. With 5 people you get the normal 60 tokens per character per day. With one player you only get 12 tokens per character per day.

He likely responded because it sounded like the spam requests that we used to get in WvW EB. People just didn’t feel like doing it.
Just because you feel “forced” to wear berserker gear does not mean you can force other players not to.
For rewards suggestions:
1) Sounds good
2) Sounds good
3) No.
4) Sounds good
5) No way!
FotM is not really a net loss as I do make money. It is definitely not as good as CoF though.
Grawl Fractal:
This will not change anything. People will still bring guardians since there is a 66% chance they will need reflect. Besides, people use it for the shaman’s agony attack for the most part.
Dredge:
That shortcut was an exploit and the devs did not consider people would do that. Just because it was there before does not mean that something similar should be now. Doing that part the legit way is not difficult if you use planning and coordination. The HP of the elemental/dredge is fine. Just use coordination to keep the burning effect on it.
Cliffside:
That’s part of the fractal and not difficult to do. Just DON’T rush. Problem solved. People is higher levels should not be having issues with this.
I don’t see why anything needs to be nerfed to the point you can faceroll through it.
Stats won’t change. You can wait but you’ll have ascended pvt stats. Unless you want pvt stats, go ahead and transmute. You’d have to anyway once you got an ascended weapon with the stats you want.
Out of ele, mesmer, warrior, ranger, and guardian; I found guardian to be the better one. This is mainly for their durability while you aggro everything, pull them to you, and spin to win. Roughly 75% (guesstimate) of hearts require you to kill things.
Responded to your other thread
NW corner of Snowden is the new guild jp
There’s another near the NW corner of Brisban and another by the SW corner of whatever the Charr starter area is. The name escapes me.
You can also hover your cursor over the name of the zone on the map to pinpoint which you’re missing.

Must have done AC or CM with the boss and golems.
Yes because you create a completely new item in the forge.
Another suggestion is to have them treat only the story elements of the living story like they do with the personal story. There will be the story icon that shows on the map where to go. As you progress, the icon goes to the next step. Once you’re done with what is available, the living story section at the top right of the screen disappears until the next batch of story events are implemented.
They can also add a narrative in the menu under the one for personal story that details/recaps the events for the living story. People then won’t have to go to the wiki unless they want specific details.
How about those who are having issues suggest Anet to do what they did in SAB for infantile mode. You select an achievement and little hands point you where to go every step of the way until completion. .
It’s just coming off to me that people want their hands held. I don’t mean for that to sound offensive to some but it’s just what it seems.
Some people unfortunately did not follow the story. It was mentioned where to go and also in a memo that I stated earlier. Either re-do the Canach story instance or read the dialogue in the following article

Patch notes
I’m not in game but what does the tooltip say when you hover the cursor over the achievement?
They’ve stated Crab Toss will be permanent. The achievements will not be so I suggest you start doing them now.
If you followed the story then you would know where to go. There’s also a memo in the settlement by the queen that gives a good hint.
Unfortunately pre-events do not count except for the event the boss is in. I can see how running through that settlement can be a pain. It sounded like you were referring to outside the settlement which left me confused why you were having issues.
There’s a difference between dying/respawning on the way to an event compared to dying/respawning after you did enough damage/participation to get credit for the event. I was referring to the latter.
You can’t blindly run through karka as you do for everything in other maps. You need to run around them to avoid aggro while using any speed buffs. If you get aggro then use your dodges. I’m used to avoiding mobs and running (plenty of practice in dungeons and pre-nerf Orr) so maybe that’s why I don’t notice an issue.
You don’t not miss out on your event reward if you respawn. Only if you leave the map. I don’t see how people still get confused by this.
I say just give players a way to solo the dungeons. However, instead of getting 60 tokens they will get 12. Seems fair. The 70% of level exp reward should be reduced to 1/5 of what it gives as well.
Follows the same principles and they even have someone who monitors the game’s economy.
If they’re trying to have a true economy then they won’t. This is what happens in the real world too.
I spent 500 gold buying up dust when they were cheap. Those who can predict nerfs are normally the ones to real the benefits as well as the first ones on after an update. Think about how many people made a lot of gold from the last Southsun “dungeon” before they fixed it.
This is nothing like Lost Shores.
I don’t mind if one or both of those classes (one of each) are in a group. I just don’t want any more than that. If the players are very skilled then an exception can be made but for the vast majority of the time having more of those classes in a group slows things down.
MMO’s are multiplayer games. Solo content goes against what they are similar to demanding RPG content to Call of Duty or other FPS’s.
I’m not saying you’re wrong to want solo content. It’s just that you’re playing a genre (or type) of gaming that doesn’t facilitate that with very few exceptions. For the most part, all content in GW2 is soloable. Only guild missions, dungeons, FotM, and several world bosses require a group of people.
Your question:
People can’t group up to beat Canach? I swear that I’ve seen requests and even saw a video of someone doing it in a group.
So why are people complaining? Did people actually try to do it as a group before complaining there wasn’t an option?
The answer to your question, which was posted well prior to you attempting to score a point against the thread:
That was possible for a short period of time (maybe an hour?); the instance became accessible to players by accident before the patch went live.
No. His post is about people having access to the instance before the patch was live. If you watched the video then you would see it was recorded after the patch went live.

At least you haven’t tried Simin pre-patch (since January). THAT was a really quite impossible DPS check. Now this boss is still a big pain but it’s doable… Anyway I can understand the frustration of trying this with 2 rangers! The pets keep aggroing the sparks and you need to be really really skilled to managed this.
Just have them set to be inactive. Problem solved. You can also have them stow their pets during the sparks phase.
Do you play a ranger? The pet pop-up automatically if you enter combat, you can’t keep it stowed easily. Also if the pet is inactive the ranger loses a lot of DPS… Two rangers with inactive pets means a big loss of DPS with Simin.
Anyway… I’m not saying it’s impossible to kill Simin with two Rangers in the party because I’ve managed to kill her with a party like this (I’ve even done the spark pull with my ranger)… but it’s a big pain.
I used to. This is for the sparks phase that I was referring to. You don’t need DPS on the sparks.
You should mention at the very start if you don’t know the path. It’s not the group’s responsibility to determine that. Most people will have no problem explaining so long as you LISTEN. The reason some people refuse to run with inexperienced players is that so many of them just won’t listen.
For example, we were doing the Cliffside fractal and had gotten to the part with the seals on each arm. We had two people that had not done fractals ever. We explained what to do with the hammer at the start and what to do when we came to each section. One person refused to listen and kept swinging the hammer at the seal rather than unlock the 4th skill. That same person also killed everything forcing acolytes to respawn and heal the seal.
Outside of dungeons, you also have people who fail to listen. Just look at the Temple of Grenth event. A lot of the times that it fails is because people don’t listen and fight on the stairs.

Why are low level players doing explorables when the loot from tokens are for level 80’s? By the time you get enough tokens for all of the level 35 rares, they’ll already be obsolete.
There’s going to be a disparity because level 80 players have all of those traits and trait points.
I stopped reading when you said 2 Rangers = High DPS.
I have to agree. Despite ranger being the second class that I played, they don’t have that high of a DPS compared to other classes.
AC is fine. I know some people hate when this is said but it’s basically a learn to play.
My team wasn’t a pug, its just they were not all Zerk warriors or Guardians.
(Not a pug group, just balenced)
Pug stands for Pick Up Group. It is not the all encompassing term for groups with bad players. You can get the same by just running with people in your guild.
In regards to new players to the dungeon not being able to find a group; that’s incorrect. Just advertise that you’re new, but willing to LISTEN, and people will likely invite you. You can also just group with other players new to the dungeon.
That path is the longest one. It averages around 2 hours. It’ll take less with an experienced DPS group and will take longer with an inexperienced group with random classes. All players should expect and allocate at least 3 hours for the dungeon. I’m not going to get into details but you can guesstimate how long it will take at the start by looking at what classes (including how many of each class) you have in your party.
Simin is not the bad; not even for a group of random classes. Your group was likely slow on getting the the elementals to their spot or your group was more on the defensive that offensive when it comes to damage. You do need DPS for her but you do not need the absolute best. She was also nerfed months ago so is vastly easier now.
