You put the ring in the Mystic Forge along with these 3 items:

1 Shard of Crystallized Mists Essence
3 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence
5 Vial of Condensed Mists Essence

That is how you can get built-in AR for a ring.

and at the moment, the max AR is +40 (because you can only infuse rings)

It’s 45. You’re forgetting the back item.

But the storytelling we had was very good. I really like the text about Canach from the blog. Would love to get more like this about Canach and what hes gone through the last six months.

Having to read a blog post to get the bulk of the story in a video game is like having to watch DVD extras to get the bulk of the story for a movie. If there was a good story here (I didn’t read the blog stories) it should have been in game with blog short stories as supplements.

It was in the game if you played last November. People also blast through doing the achievements and miss the dialogue. They also don’t talk to all of true NPC’s.

Mesmer is probably the easiest class to beat him with. Just spam clones/phantasms at him to keep him distracted while you set up the mines. When one is ready just do a focus pull.

Let’s say you enlist in the military and they essentially own you. Things go south and you’re working in “poor” conditions. All of the records stating you are contractually obligated to serve are easily accessible.

Is it right to destroy those because you feel that things are not fair?

The refugees are the link. Canach has to deal with Southsun. Read the wiki for Lost Shores since you likely missed it. Read the wiki for Flame and Frost as well as the current one to refresh your memory. It’ll make more sense after that.

There is some debate in my guild about whether they are dolphins or porpoises in the aquatic fractal. Were they ever porpoises?

Not much to debate. Dolphins have a long beak while porpoises do not.

I’m sure it’ll be reported by the end of this weekend. It’s not like doing it the legit way was all that difficult or time consuming. Two people per switch for the first two is all that you needed to handle the dredge. In fact, for the first switch, you only need one person to stand on it if people are waiting at the door.

Exploits are often easy fixes as they already know the problem and there’s a quick solution. For the other issues mentioned, they involve troubleshooting.

ps: the last de-buff from boss clarifies that heavy DPS is the only crucial thing in this encounter. (compare to path 2 AC boss, heavy DPS check, controller check, 1 – 2 ghostbuster check, 1 supporter check.).

The boss has been done with low DPS. It’s not as bad as you are exaggerating. Also, AC Path 2 boss is NOT a DPS check. Perhaps you need to refresh your memory on what a DPS check is.

Heavy dps make the boss melt faster (you dont need it actually, but you still need DPS to damage the boss or you will have long encounter). Thats why I list 4 job you have in that encounter, supporter for support (heal,boon), DPS well he will do DPS directly once boss can be attacked, ghostbuster to make sure traps working, controller to control the boss (aka agro). 1 people can do 2 jobs (DPS+control). Looks how the encounter should be. Path 2 AC is far the best encounter (some people called it annoying) I have ever seen. .

Well that works for any boss. The more DPS you have the quicker you will defeat a boss. The typical DPS you have in pugs will require you to set off 3 traps on average. Assuming you have two people that are ordinated and know what they’re doing, this shouldn’t take more than 10 min.

A DPS check is where you cannot progress without having a specific level of DPS. Think of Simin before the nerf.

I’ve been told by others who are more exp. in dungeons that he is tougher than any dungeon boss, he’’s tougher than any world boss, with the exception of Lupe in Grenth (which hasn’t been completed since the orig. changes).

If you range him then he charges. His melee attacks are dodgeable. He most likely can be solo’d if he’s like the champion in Straits of Devastation.

If you mean GL when you say Lupe then he has been defeated many times with no problem recently. I don’t see what you mean that he has been unbeatable.

If you abuse it then you will get banned. Accidentally doing it on all toons will likely not but I wouldn’t risk it. Farming it will result in a ban.

People aren’t criticizing based on try-once. It’s a multiple trial experiment with a lot of bugs involved.

Bugs or people just not learning the mechanics? I’ve seen people call out things as bugged or glitched before when they had no idea how to do it.

No different than one of the achievements for the Wintersday mini game. You needed luck there as well to get the achievement. Just play at a time when there’s less people.

Based on this thread there is no reason for us to even try to unlock this level of guild mission. We’re a small guild and we’re not a bunch of puzzle experts. So, thank you yet again Anet for content that that a small guild cannot possibly do.

I guess we don’t count.

You have to work together. How does a small guild have this unlocked? A lot of medium sized guilds are just now unlocking this which have around 30 players. This is more than enough for the puzzles. If you’re a small guild, how did you do the challenges and tier 3 bounty to get enough merits to have it unlocked already? How about influence as well?

You’re not reading what we’re saying.

It’s got nothing to do with failing it. The guild actually completes it. It just doesn’t give anyone the chance to catch up and get in once others have completed it.

You are supposed to move TOGETHER as a guild. It’s NOT a jumping puzzle that is initiated and everyone goes at their own pace. It is the responsibility of the GUILD as a whole to wait for stragglers.

Yes, that’s all well and good but that 1. Wastes time and 2. Shouldn’t even be needed.

False and that’s your opinion that it shouldn’t be needed. This is a GUILD puzzle and you’re supposed to work together to complete it. Having is open to complete at your own pace defeats the purpose.

It does not waste time to wait for everyone. You are given more than enough time to complete the puzzle.

If someone dies at the END from skritt or jumping or anything, they have to go to the START and do it all again. That’s not exactly fair play for a guild mission.

You DO NOT have to go to the WP. You’re doing this as a GUILD which means you get res’d.

You’d need to wait for at least 4 other people and hope they can get it done in time before the maze ends. If they get unlucky and there is like a minute left on the maze then they have to do the maze.

If you’re referring to the four pressure switches for the door, you should be doing this together as a GUILD and not straggling along. As I mentioned before, a mesmer can port people from the WP to the beginning of the maze. Once again, a mesmer can port people from the WP to the beginning of the maze.

That’s not fair or fun. Both times I’ve done challenge there have been people in my guild (and yes, in one instance it was me) at least 5 people didn’t get the reward chest, despite getting upto the maze. Just because they didn’t walk in the room in time meant they didn’t get the reward. How is that fair?

Do the puzzle together as a GUILD and solo or in small groups. This is not a guild rush where you can leisurely go and complete it within the time window. Your guild should agree about a time to start the puzzle and everyone meets up and does it TOGETHER as a guild.

If your guild gets to the end and you have participated in most of the puzzle you should get the reward. As I said earlier, it isn’t like rush where you still have a legitimate and fair chance to get the reward after it’s completed.

So if you to tkitten jumping puzzle and die, you should still get the reward? The reward is for making it to the end which is easily done if you work together as a guild.

Also, those four people wont get rewards if they stay there.

They DON’T stay there the entire time. You move through the puzzle as a guild and they remain there in to keep the door open for any stragglers.

Say a guild needs to organise better all you like, but if a single person dies and gets put back at the start, it’s not fair. A guild is left with a choice of “send more people back to help this person through, possibly screwing up the puzzle or making even more not get rewards” OR “just tell them bad luck and to try on their own”

When they die, they can be revived. If the person chooses to WP back then that’s their own fault. They have a choice and they chose to port back rather than wait for someone to revive them.

A mesmer can port people from the WP to the beginning of the maze.

That’s not in the spirit of being in a guild. That’s not fun.

Working TOGETHER is part of the spirit of being in a guild.

It doesn’t quite work that way.

Yes it does. You’re supposed to do it as a guild.

  • Don’t start the puzzle until everyone is at the start and ready
  • Don’t enter the elevator until everyone is caught up (don’t press any of the buttons either!)
  • Keep four people standing on the buttons switches so everyone can get through
  • Don’t travel alone in the maze and get yourself killed in some random corner
  • Stragglers can port to the WP and go NW so a mesmer can port them to the beginning of the maze part

It’s really not that difficult and tons of guilds have successfully completed it with no issues.

If dungeons are scalable then the rewards must be scalable too. If a full group yields 60 tokens then doing it solo must yield 12 tokens.

FYI: You can port people to the beginning of the maze section if they get left behind.

It’s a GUILD puzzle so everyone should be moving as a group and not progressing until everyone has caught up. Those doing the puzzle should not Akitten.

Patch notes stated June 4th. The preview was only referring to those items that are rare drops.

My suggestion offers a solution to the WvW issues. Basically seperate your WvW server choice from the server you actually play on. Then keep the WvW restrictions(cooldown, transfer costs etc) to your WvW server choice.

Does’nt even need a complete re-design, just uses a software modification of systems that are in place and working now

Will not work. NA WvW servers are on the NA data center and EU’s are on the EU data center. They will need to have their account info transferred whenever they go to WvW and whenever they log off (or crash) while in WvW or leave.

This is more than a simple software change. There’s hardware and other factors mentioned in this thread many times that people are just not understanding or ignoring.

I suggest those that are still wondering about this issue to do some research on networks, data centers, latency, etc. It will make what is being said to make more sense. You can hear the reasoning but without the foundational knowledge of this, you won’t understand it. Kind of like how I can explain a calculus problem to someone who has only gone as far as algebra.

I’m not talking about guesting, more like taking things back to first principles and what used to work. Heck even having to wait 10 mins for it to transfer you over is way better than not being able to do it at all. The ’that’s because it’s the way it works now’ reason is not a reason to look at things from a different angle.

People assume guesting is the only way it can work. As I said in my suggestion put a delay on transferring back, and even add a speed up consumable in the gem store to help pay for extra bandwidth.

Oh I thought you were. We’ll still run into the issue of how to determine which server someone belongs to for WvW.
