If they do it for one event then they set a precedent that they will have to for all others that a handful of players happen to miss.
Opening 500 coffers is very low. The ticket has a drop rate of around 0.01% according to people. You have less that 5% chance of getting it with your first 500 coffers. You have about a 63% chance if you open up 10,000 coffers. Again, RNG plays a large role.
The fireworks occurred every 2 hours. If you had asked when it last happened, then you could’ve determined when you need to be on. Another way people got this was by having themselves auto-run into a corner and do something else (watch a movie, eat, sleep, etc). They then got the achievement when they came back.
Leaving and missing it is not Anet’s fault. The three days that it up was more than enough time to get this done.
Likely none will ever have this. You need all four camps under your control which is difficult considering they are attacked by karka pretty quickly. By the time a site showed they were under control, it’d be too late to get to the merchant.
I pretty much agree with Rizzo and Celestina. I see it all the time and it appears to be getting worse. Idiocracy (the film), anyone?
I’m wondering if this new generation of “gamers” can actually beat any of the older games (without step by step guides). Games like Legend of Zelda with dungeons that required a little critical thinking for example. It seems people nowadays want games that essentially act as a movie rather than an actual game.
There are tiers. Levels 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, and 40-49. Pristine fractal relics are a guaranteed drop from the daily chest. You get the daily chest by doing an even number level fractal that has Jade Maw. The daily is per tier so you can get four relics per day per character.
This is an online game that in continually changing through updates/patches. The event sequences for living story have always been staggered rather than released all at once. If you don’t read the patch notes then it’s your own fault.
Won’t solve anything. There will always be those lazy players who will ask for things in map chat. It’s funny though that the effigies are marked on the maps. Just go to a zone and pull up the map to see where to go.
Well by your logic:
FotM is a grind
Dungeons are a grind.
Dailies are a grind.
Monthlies are a grind.
Leveling is a grind.
Map/World completion is a grind.
Personal story is a grind.
Living story is a grind.
Doing world bosses is a grind.
Well looks like the entire game is a grind. I guess it’s time to play another MMO that isn’t a grind. Oh wait. They all are.
Only a grind if you are impatient. You have an entire month to do them so you don’t need to do them the day they are released.
E is male. It’s pointed out in the dialogue.
Just buy the wings. They’re only 13 gold. It’ll save you the hassle of farming.
Everything you are bringing forward is contradicted by the many “What do i have to do”s and “Where do I find…”s in map chat. If it was really that clear, those wouldn’t be there.
This is not true. Laziness and/or unable to put a little thought into things does not mean that what to do for the living story isn’t clear.
If you followed ALL of the dialogue then there’s no reason for you to not know where to go. Going to the bar is pretty obvious since the mail you receive tells you where to go. If you paid attention to the dialogue then you would here her tell you to meet her at the scene of the crime. If you go there then you will see Kiel. ALL, and I mean ALL, living story events/instance have had the gold star symbol. Common sense would dictate that you talk to her.
You should also be aware of the heralds that were added to the game. If you spoke to the one by the scene of the crime she would tell you there are some investigators here and to check in with Kiel. Not that difficult.
Finding the suspects is easy as well. The info you get in the mail is descriptive enough and you once again have the icon on the map pointing you where to go.
People need to read the patch notes. It baffles me that people do not go and check after each update. If people don’t read the patch notes then it’s their own fault; not the dev’s. There’s no reason that people need to have their hands held.
You could’ve logged into the game and just auto-run yourself into a corner in LA before going to bed. When you wake up, you have the achievement.
I don’t get why you need a group for the story instance. It’s incredibly easy.
ANET has more important things to worry about than make dungeons solo-able for the handful of anti-social players that want GW2 to be a single player game like Skyrim. The is a massive MULTIPLAYER online game. You’re going to have to play with people.
It shows where in an image for the guide

That can’t be a serious video…
It’s just RNG. I’ve had times where I get zero ecto from five rares and then others where ill have like 8 or 9. If you think there is an issue then you’ll have to prove it with a LARGE sample size. You’re looking into thousands of salvages at least.
Another musical instrument for people to troll others in LA.
Guild missions and easier to do group activities. Its also an additional chat channel. Other than that there is no purpose.
They’re labeled as unique which means only one can be equipped at one time.
They just need to increase the hit box for the burrows.
To be honest, achievement points are a pretty bad way to judge player skill. I’ve seen players with less than 1000 play like pros, and people with 5K+ play as if it’s their first time playing the game.
I agree. It doesn’t take skill to get achievement points so why would achievement points denote skill?
Didn’t really change anything except make a berserker guardian the preferred class to solo these. I just tested it and guardian is now the fastest due to their pull attack.
Every time people say that god kills a kitten.
(AoE pulls arn’t unique to guardian, mesmer’s can do it too using focus 4, and can create a much larger opening burst, frequently sufficient to kill the entire group in a single blast)
Guardian pull them to him. Mesmer pulls them towards a direction. Guardian kills faster than a mesmer. The burst is not enough to kill them outright anymore.

HP increase was fine. Only takes an extra two seconds to kill.

People should just try other zones.
Mount Maelstrom on the east side by the lake has well over a dozen. A lot of them you can do in a straight line such as on the way to golem (there’s 3). For each cycle of about 15 I only have to wp four times. Much cheaper than having to wp to each holo in the lower level maps.
It’s a mini pet. What do you expect…
You made it without any skills and just by jumping? Getting onto the house before your first screenshot requires a leap or teleport (regular jump lacks the height needed) unless you found another way.
I’ll trace out the path I took and when I used the teleport gun later.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Quicker to solo it. It’s polite to wait for others though.
Dulfy has killed Dulfy numerous times. I doubt she minds.
Barely anyone does the meta anymore for queen. It’s exactly what I predicted. Trying to capture and hold four camps is not worth the time/effort for two rare items. The duration that you hold a camp before the defend event needs to be increased.
Roof jumps. You need leap skills or teleport gun. You only need 4 to get to his first screenshot.

Even if the odds were, say 10% on the chests, opening 10 of them would still give you a 38.74% chance to get 1 ticket (a little higher if you include getting more than one ticket).
It doesn’t work like that. Based on your percentage you likely did the chance of failure to the power of number of attempts (0.9^10). This is actually the probability of all losses in 10 attempts; not chance of a single success.
The probablilty on average of winning in 10 attempts is actually 65.13% (1-0.3487). Again, this is on average and the chance of a win in each single attempt is still 10%.
So is it better to sell the dragon coffer chests or use them…? Anyone having luck with them?
Sell. With the amount they’re going for, you’ll have enough gold to buy one outright. The price of the coffer will drop by this weekend but the cost of the wings is dropping as well.
What I don’t get is, if this person is way pointing, they are spending a heck of a lot of money on it.
Run around the map and get 3 emitters in 5 minutes, or waypoint around and get 3 in a minute – ~4-5s waypoint costs.
Coffers sold for 13s a piece in the beginning, now for 5s. With 1-4 coffers dropping from an emitter, do the math
Probably better in the long run to sell the coffers. You’ll make enough gold to buy one outright much quicker than getting enough candy.
Scaling them will not fix the issue for high DPS classes that farm. This is especially true in low level zones. A lot of the time people are by themselves so scaling won’t do a thing.
I personally will wait if I see someone coming otherwise I will start it and kill everything. I don’t have the time to wait for people that are slow. It’s not difficult to look at a map, see where one is, and rush to it. Most people do it and I have no problem waiting if I see them coming. For those that are not getting credit for kills, you need a DPS class that has AoE/cleave.
People should also consider how long they’ll be using these skins. Who knows? Maybe in a couple months more popular skins will be available.
Anet Forum Moderators,
Can you please make one of those threads to just toss all of the complaint threads into? I doubt we really need over a dozen of them as each complaint doesn’t deserve its own thread. This will help clean up the clutter.
It will be easily obtainable by the end of the month. Just look at the candy corn.
The patch notes say. I’m also sure the achievements panel tells you to.
Significantly doesn’t mean 100%. It could be twice the drop rate of regular coffers or twice the drop rate of the Southsun crates. Significant is a relative term.
Let’s says coffers and crates have a 1% chance for a ticket. Rich coffers have a 10% chance. That’s probably considered significant. Now RNG plays a role and it is easily in the realm of likelihood that you can buy 25 rich coffers and not get a ticket. That’s assuming the arbitrary drop rates I used are actually that high in the game.
A 1% drop rate is significantly greater that a 0.1% drop rate. A 25% drop rate is significantly greater than a 1% drop rate. The term significant is misleading.
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
There’s a difference between them implying and someone assuming that the drop rate would be high with the rich coffers. It was actually someone on this forum that started the rumor that it would be and everyone went with it. Players then read the notes and assume since it doesn’t say rare then it MUST be 100% drop rate.
I doubt anyone will be willing to give up the best location. Just look at the skelk location from the last event. It was perfect until someone made a post about it on the forums and then everyone flocked to it making it difficult to farm. Then Anet nerfed it.
It’s part of the last few achievements to tie this in with the living story.
But of course. The players know more about MF through anecdotal evidence than the devs who have access to the actual coding. Yeah that makes a lot of sense.
Guess what? I was receiving blues and greens as loot. I started stripping my character before collecting loot and I started getting rares and even an exotic. Clearly stripping my character was the reason and not RNG.
A lot of people here would find it advantageous to take a statistics class.
But what’s the likelihood of that?
Likelihood of everyone getting a skin claim ticket from SSC.
