Toys do not need swiftness.
It’s easy to modify the quantity.
Take any chat code and go to the following: https://paulschou.com/tools/xlate/
Paste it in the bottom left chat box for Base 64. Hit Decode at the bottom of the box.
Look two boxes over to Char/Dec. You’ll see like six sets of numbers. The second one, likely a 1 by default, is the quantity. Change it to whatever you want from 1-252. Hit Decode at the bottom of the box.
Go back to the bottom left box again for Base 64 and copy the new code.
Go into the game and type [& CODE ] with the new code replacing what is bolded and without the spaces.
With how easy it is to manipulate the quantities, I would be careful about believing anything that is linked.

There is one jumping puzzle that is part of map completion.
I did not have full map for years because there was jumping involved. But that is just 1 thing you could not do.
Fractal can and is done with mesmers.
And to indirectly quote myself, jumping is indeed much more needed with the advent of HoT, the jumping components are the make and break of HoT. I don´t see how this contradicts my opinion that nobody asked for SuperMarioWars2. We got it, people played it. Neither does suggest that people enjoy it, and some probably did it to get over with it. I for example have several silvers and could have very well lived without them. Many vistas require jumping. Some hero points require jumping.
You’re assuming every group has a Mesmer. Not always the case.
HoT was advertised to include jumping just as GW2. A game that includes jumping would most likely use that for various things. To expect differently is wrong.
You shrug off map completion as one thing people can just not do if they don’t like jumping. Well adventures are just one thing that they don’t have to do as well.
Compare the effort of a common vista to a common adventure and the jumping in vanilla and HoT and tell me again how nothing has changed. Adventures are small jumping puzzles, not vistas.
See adventures have an emphasis on jumping (e.g. Sanctum scramble) but fortunately there are others that don’t require any more jumping than your typical vista. There are even some that don’t need you to jump period. These more than outweigh the number that require as much jumping as a jumping puzzle. There are more than enough MO that you can earn from adventures without having to do a significant amount of jumping.
I’ve done map completion for Tyria and HoT over a dozen times and neither required significantly more jumping than the other.
EDIT:
I’m sure that I would have to eventually explain which ones require jumping to the degree of a typical jumping puzzle compared to those that don’t so I may as well do it now to get it out of the way.
I’ll group them by those that require no jumping at all, to those that require a few jumps, to everything else.
No Jumping Required (5/15)
- Flying Circus
- Shooting Gallery
- Salvage Pit
- On Wings of Gold
- Haywire Punch O Matic
Minimal Jumping Required (5/15)
- Tendril Torches
- Ley-Line Run
- Drone Race
- Beetle Feast
- Scrap Rifle Field Test
Substantial Jumping Required (5/15)
- Bugs in the Branches
- Floor is Lava
- Sanctum Scramble
- Fallen Masks
- A Fungus Among Us
If you get all mastery points from all other sources, you only need 5 from adventures. There are 10 available from those that do not require jumping and another 10 from those that require a minimal amount such as to hop onto a mushroom.

Jumping was never mandatory in GW2. Of course you could boycott jumping things and move on in Gw2, but you will find that most things involve jump and run since HoT, so your options are very limited.
How do you get map completion without jumping? How do you complete certain fractals (e.g. Uncategorized) without jumping? Jumping is also a large part of the new maps. Players have to jump to get to many of the mastery insights yet nobody is complaining about that.
You also need better data interpretation skills. Particularly, the ability to pull the general trend of the graph aside from the spikes. The information of note is the proceeding weeks after any sort of big update, and not just how high of a spike it is in one week.
As do you as well. No analysis has been done to show that there actually is a correlation between forum posts and active players at given times. All that we have seen is the trend in forum posts since launch with various events highlighted. People are using personal observations, which are subjected to bias, on what they perceive the player population trend to be and then matching it against the trend for forum posts.
What they fail to account for are other variables as well. For example, the graph for forum posts is based on number of posts. It does not account for unique posters and yet it’s being used to correlate with player activity. If we get the top 100 posters to post 1,000 messages a day for a month, does that mean the active player population must have increased as well? No, it does not. If Anet does something that upsets the player base, and the forums explodes with 1,000’s upon 1,000 of posts, does that mean the player population increased? No.
You’re drawing conclusions without the full set of data and then making interpretations from that and treating them as facts when they are not. A more accurate comparison would have been with unique posters instead of the number of posts. Even then, we only have half of the data as we have no access to player population numbers.

It’s like asking Mario not to jump, because you can’t/won’t push jump-button.
I am probably quickly ruing answering this, but I still give it a try:
Nobody asked for SuperMarioWars2 in the first place. Filler content is filler.
Would you look a football game to see who does the best pass to goal ratio? Don´t know about you but I want to be entertained by content, not gated and annoyed.
Would you catch bugs in a toxic dungeon for your amusement while your people are slaughtered by a dragon? A few seem useful, some are just not necessary, most totally ruin any immension you could feel in HoT.
“Yeah, you know, we got this total awesome staff etc for you, the hero and pact commander! All we ask for you is to jump through a few unrelated hoops! Hm…what do you mean, how is that heroic?”
Jumping was advertised with this game so it’s expected that players would have to performing jumping for some aspects. Adventures were advertised as a part of HoT so it was expected that some things would require players to do adventures.
Players will likely not enjoy all aspects of content within a game. This does not mean that content should be adjusted to cater to each and every player’s preferences.
It always drops to someone else guys. In this 4 years, only once I got ascended chest and it was from low fractal lvl.
Not a single drop of weapons out there nor rare items such as precursor in these 4 years.
How do you suppose I craft so expensive items such as ascended armour when nothing good drops to me?
How often do you do Teq/TT?
How often do you do fractals? What levels/tiers?
How often do you do the PvP reward tracks? Some people just have bad luck. Any bell curve is going to have folks on the kitten end as well as the blessed end.
I’ve personally gotten more ascended gear out of WvW rank ups than any other mode (though mostly worthless rings).
Yes but that possibility doesn’t mean that it can apply to every player that claims to be having bad luck without first looking at what they are actually doing. If they don’t do high level/tier fractals, do Teq/TT, and/or PvP reward tracks then of course their chances of getting ascended will be very low.

Raids should have exclusive rewards, yes. That said, ascended trinkets with new stats should not be one of those rewards, those should be attainable outside of raids IMO.
Which they will be with the next season of the living story.
I say NO to both. It takes zero effort to obtain laurels. If you want the shards or ascended armor then work for it like everyone else that has.
It takes 0 effort to pay for raid carries as well.
Which only a very small percentage of players do compared to the entire player base that would then be able to buy them with laurels.
Sigils of Force and Night do not stack.
Since when? They always stacked together before, did they changed it because I don’t remember reading about that change.
I was under the impression that they did not because they were of the same type (+% damage). I must’ve missed the part where it only matters if they’re the same sigil.

Why?
Use your imagination and with a little bit of understanding you have at least four reasons.
Sorry but telling me to substantiate someone’s complaint with reasons that they should have provided in the first place isn’t going to happen.
Click on the boss to see what they have listed as the HP.
You were gone so you would’ve missed it entirely if they had kept it like season 1. Either you can purchase season 2 or just consider it like season 1 and you missed out since you were not playing at that time.
Which would be fine if the huge first expansion pack just released didn’t need it in its entirety to understand the story.
It needed it no more than it did season 1.
I disagree, as a returning customer that purchased hot i had no clue wtf was going on at the start of the Hot story, i actually thought Dry top was Hot…
It is needed and its incredible that it was never added, especially at the cost of the expansion.
And without doing Season 1, people have no idea about what is going on either. Like I said, Season 1 is needed just as much as Season 2.
Maybe because crates are your primary means of getting the currency.

players being obnoxious and spamming you to do something you don’t want to do in pve?
i’m not sure i buy that. this is gw2, and this sounds more like something that would happen in a game that allows dueling. this is the #1 reason we don’t want dueling in this game. stuff like this could happen.
u must be thinking of some other game. maybe it was swtor?
You’d be surprised. We used to do all of the meta events perfectly fine without being in a squad. Now people act as if it’s impossible and shun those that don’t want to be in one.
Maybe a bug. Did the AB track unlock the TD one for you when doing WvW?
Actually, did any previously locked reward track for anyone get unlocked when its pre-requisite was completed in WvW?
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Probably just bags of gear. That’s what I would do if I had nothing else to spend them on.
You need to join the map just as it resets. Use the LFG to join an active map if you don’t land in one.
I have it so it is accessible unless there’s a bug preventing it from unlocking.
You can buy Memories of Battle off the TP. They’re also only used for the HoT legendaries and precursor collections.

I usually just create a commander-less squad.
Huh? What’s that and how do you do it?
Create a squad with a commander tag whether that be you or someone else. Have at least one other person in the squad besides the commander. Have the commander leave. This results in a squad without a commander. The commander can then rejoin without needing to tag up if they wish.
It’s just like being in a party except you can be in a squad solo if you wish. Everyone should be unable to invite you.

Yes. I occasionally get this as well but usually in Blazeridge. It doesn’t matter what my settings are and it’s only in specific areas.
that’s an awful place to bind your dodge
Actually that’s the default keybinding for dodge =x
What other key do you suggest to bind dodge to?
It might be the default, but it’s still awful if you leave it like that. I stick mine on mouse4.
Many people use their thumb to hit the default jump key (space bar) so it makes sense for dodge to be within range as well.
It may not work to your preferences but that does not mean that it is awful.
I feel like I may be able to clear up some things here.
GW2 stays on DX9 and 32bit client which kinda.. lags a lot, and sometimes even crashes on huge battles/worldbosses (i see you Tequatl).
For the vast majority of players, the lag is unrelated to both of these.
All software have a thing called threads. You can think of each thread as a highway lane: They run in parallel, and they each perform different tasks simultaneously. They are what applications use to scale with multiple cores on CPUs, as each thread can only run on one CPU core at a time. Each application has a thread known as the main thread. For games that thread is usually the thread that’s in the driver’s seat of the frame. It determines what to process and when on a higher level, such as “process OS messages”, “update the game state”, “process animations”, “send state to the render thread”, etc. All the different things that go into a game frame. The majority of game engines do some of these on a different thread, but in many cases the main thread still determines when it should happen.
So since threads are useful for scaling things, you’d think that you could simply create more threads and get more work done. But while it’s true that you have more computing power with more threads, threads also have downsides. For one, you cannot modify data in memory while another thread is reading that same data. In order to do this one thread has to wait for the other to stop using the data, meaning work is done in serial even if the code itself is running on multiple threads. To make matters worse, the OS is not guaranteed to put a thread back to work the very moment the other thread has finished. It can actually take a long-ish time (long being a very relative term). Due to this, software engineers are forced to properly design their applications to work well in parallel. Doing this after the fact is usually on the range of non-trivial to very hard.
Which brings us to GW2. GW2 does a lot of processing, and much of it is done on the main thread. That is also where its bottleneck tends to be: The main thread. There are conscious efforts in moving things off the main thread and onto other threads (every now and then a patch goes out that does just this), but due to how multi-threading works it’s a non-trivial thing that take a lot of effort to do. In a perfect world, we could say “Hey main thread, give the other threads some stuff to do if you’re too busy”, but sadly this is not that world.
As for DX9 and 32bit: Moving off of DX9 wouldn’t buy us a whole lot performance wise, as all interaction with DirectX is happening on the render thread, which is generally not the bottleneck. Moving from 32-bit to 64-bit also does not really buy us a lot performance-wise. There are some optimizations the compiler is able to do with 64-bit that it can’t do otherwise, but the actual FPS gain is minimal at best.
And about crashing on Tequatl: Here’s one case where a 64-bit client could actually help. Many of the crashes happening on Tequatl (which are still quite few, mind you) are cause of memory fragmentation. The bigger memory address space of 64-bit apps could help prevent that. This becomes more of a problem the longer you keep your client running.

EDIT:
This is what I found but didn’t find the actual post; only what was quoted.
For those of you who have been asking about DX11 support for Guild Wars 2, our goal with GW2 has always been to provide a gorgeous fantasy world while at the same time running on a wide range of gaming PCs.
Focusing on DX9 allows us to do this, as it’s a much wider supported graphics API than DX11 is and we wanted our game to reach as many of our fans as possible.
We will be evaluating supporting DX11 post launch. ~RB2
Unless evaluate means something other than what I think it means, they never said they would add DX11 support.

They still haven’t fixed the one in Dredgehaunt where the guild rush is and that vista. Every time I go there, I have to jump off the edge and then to the left to land behind the door that will not open because of it.
Upgrading to DX12 isn’t as simple as you make it out to be nor will is provide the improvements that you are hoping for.

What’s the point in working to achieve something when you can just pay someone to do it for you? I’m against this.
You only need five mastery points from adventures. With the living coming soon, this could eventually drop down to none.
I sometimes prefer an empty map when doing map completion because other players can impact how quickly I complete hearts.

Thanks again for your help, all!
I was just about to suggest that one after seeing it had 23 POI
The newer zones didn’t have enough stuff added to account for what they’re missing unfortunately. It’s almost like they’re missing an entire map.
My suggestion would be to go to make a checklist of every map and then visit it. Check the UI and the map itself to see if anything is missing. You shouldn’t have to do this but it’s what I would do in your situation.

I’ve done world completion twice in the past three weeks and haven’t had any issues. Are you sure that all of the core zones are sitting at 100%
There was an issue where the NPC would be late announcing the whirlpools. Sometimes they wouldn’t even announce them period. I suggest keeping a lookout for them rather than rely on the NPC to give you an audio cue.
Maybe because you could get more than one if multiple bosses such as VB?
You don’t. That’s another chest.
Actually, you do.
I got two of these the other night when doing the VB bosses:

The functionality of the item itself was not changed with the shared inventory slots so there wouldn’t be a refund unless you were still within that window.
Sadly the functionality was changed: the moment you put one of these items in the shared slot, the second and all the other you have become instantly useless.
No it hasn’t. Notice that I said “of the item itself”. The items still functions exactly how it was before shared slots were introduced.
