Astral Authority is The Abjured.
If Anet refunds guilds then I want a refund for all of the soft wood logs I refined when you still needed four.
Nash, if you do fractal levels starting at 75 and working your way down to 1, what do you expect your personal reward level to be when you’re done?
I’ll have to check but you did not need it last week before Thursday’s update.
Since when was HoT required for the jump pads at Teq?
I’d prefer LS season 1 updates.
There are groups that advertise on LFG that can do that for you. It’ll cost you gold though.
As far as guides go…

Everyone does have a fair shot at winning assuming they can work together as a team, have a decent team comp, and know how to play.
So, you’re saying that everyone has a fair shot at winning, assuming they are a premade, or fulfill some requirements they have no control over when soloqueuing. Sure, in that case you not only have a fair shot at winning. You are expected to win (because you are most likely in the designated winners team).
You’re not going to get a win simply by showing up.
In this season i have been in many matches where i could have akitten the whole game and still win.
Some people did the math and found it to be true. And please look at what I specfically stated in what you quoted.
And you got lucky and were carried. You cannot expect this to happen every time and then complain when it doesn’t. For most matches you will have to put in a little more effort than that.
All of the Queen beedogs can be killed with at most 50 baubles and the slingshot. Just sit there at range and attack it. When it does the rapid fire attack, just dodge to the left or right and keep moving. It takes maybe 20 seconds to kill.
All of the achievements that require you to break furniture are easy. Just find the nearest shop at the beginning of the map and whack away.
I personally skipped the digging achievements because I don’t know where they are off hand.
The treasure chest achievements are easy but just take time trying to farm a key or buy one from a shop. I tend to skip these as there are quicker dailies.
The last variation is to beat a zone. With all of those ridiculous shortcuts that they added to world 2, none of these are all that difficult to do. I would think that most people would be doing them all daily anyway to get bauble bubbles for the items they want.
Other than the zone completion daily, I think all of the others can be done on infantile mode.
Umm… A lot of people have done it. Many have also done it last time as that is when I did it. It took me several tries but I did it. All I needed was the flute active when I reached it.

you clairly havent read how works the machmaking this season
Or you haven’t.
It doesn’t really take that much more time to do dailies in world 2.
They’re really not that difficult. It’s just random each day for which zone that you have to do those tasks.
For example, today I finished W1Z3, destroyed the honeycomb in W1Z1 (slingshot and around 50ish baubles kills the bee), and then broke 10 pieces of furniture in W2Z3. The achievements are really no more difficult in one zone than another. One exception could be the chests but I skip those because they’re annoying to me to get no matter the zone.

There are 17 extra Tyria mastery points so players do have quite a lot of choice in how to earn them.
Losing divisions wouldn’t really help, since the issue that’s messing everything up, is the mixture of rewards track and league progression. It’s a horrible idea.
Leagues is not a reward track. It’s not supposed to work like what you’re suggesting.
Especially with the MMR that gives wins to those that keep winning.
As opposed to people who win getting losses? I thought people who win are supposed to get wins…
I’m personally sick and tired of joining a game and knowing full well before everyone has clicked ready, that I’m gonna be losing a pip this round. Doesn’t have anything to do with team comp, I can just feel that I’m in the B team. The game thinks i’m bad, so i keep getting the same horrible teammates.
Player names determine the outcome of a match? You ruled out team comp which is really the only thing that is actually meaningful before a match in determining that. Team comp does very much play a significant role in whether a team wins or loses. That and the ability of the team to work together by having decent rotations.
If they wanted to mix a league progression and reward track.. then this was the worst way.
Good thing they weren’t then.
How could they not see this would lead to a lot of grieving and frustration.. Did they really believe that people would gladly get farmed a over and over, without ever getting a fair shot?
No. No one volunteers to be farmed!
Everyone wants a fair shot, at every turn. This matchmaking is based on removing that shot before the game even begins.
Horrible design decision.
They get farmed over and over if they’re beyond where they should be. It’s also exacerbated at times when there are not enough people in the queue so they get paired with people of mixed skills in order to have reduced queue times.
Everyone does have a fair shot at winning assuming they can work together as a team, have a decent team comp, and know how to play. You’re not going to get a win simply by showing up.
They need to separate these two things. if they wanted a reward track, that’s fine. But in the end they need a separate track for actual player skill that would divide those with higher skill quicker into higher divs, and those with lower to lower.
They already have the bolded. No need for reward tracks as we already have those since before leagues.
Now everyone is at the same level until ruby, where things change slightly, but if you’ve struggled to get to ruby, you’ll get farmed forever within that tier. You won’t ever get out, simply because the game remembers how much you’ve lost and that you’re clearly a bad player. doesn’t matter if you start getting better, because your teammates clearly haven’t..
People have done the math. You will get out of whatever rut you’re in.
It’s only “bad” when combined with a low player population and the inability to lose divisions.
100% wrong. The matchmaking is terrible. Win or lose, there are too many games that result in a blowout.
Also, the divisions issue only exists because of the profession achievements required for the wings. People tend to work on those when “safe”. A better solution is to remove those achievements.
Which is caused by the relaxed criteria for matchmaking so there would be shorter queue times. This was done because there just isn’t a large enough player polo lagoon at any given time and even given skill level to give an even match consistently.
We’re also not taking into account that people are not as good as they think they are. They have terrible team comps. Got carried to where they are.
no is not bad, is horrible
a fair league sistem may grant any player for a pip range(a full div in my opinion) may get teamed with any player in the same range and against a team of the same comp and probably ad some class stack restrictions
making loser/winner predeterminate teams is not a fair league sistem
1) It should cross divisions like it currently does. It would not be fair for those on the lower end of the division to be paired against those on the higher end. A closer match would be between those at the lower end for the next division and those on the higher division of the previous.
2) What you want is completely even teams is difficult unless there’s a large enough population in the queue at any given time. Unless you’re willing to sit in queue for an extended period of time, you’re going to get matches that have a wider range of skill level and team comps.
With no new legendary weapons, any of those that don’t like the existing HoT legendary weapons can now skip that mastery. There’s 9 mastery points that you do not need.
For fractals, you don’t really need that last mastery so that’s another 5 MP that you don’t need to get.
Yes. They stated that they are working on new ones. But until they are actually in the game, probably best to not put any of your hopes into it.
I understand that it can be frustrating as I have gone back and forth on the same tier for weeks. Although I only play three matches a day. Just like everyone else, If I expect to make progress on getting past that tier, It will require me to put more effort/games to do so.
Being able to buy pips goes completely against the whole competitive league system. This isn’t a reward track. Imagine in a competition where someone could buy their progress. What if the Buccaneers could buy their wins during a season? Would it matter even if they could only do it once? It’s just one single win during an entire season…
(edited by Ayrilana.1396)
Terrible idea and defeats the purpose.
Why not just take it to the next level and ask Anet for a gemstore items that will unlock absolutely everything for your account and then a “season pass” that will continue to unlock everything that is added after that?
It takes timing. No you don’t need six seconds. You just need the flute active when you get there.
Core game is free if you apply the product key to a new or F2P account. The core game is not part of the expansion’s cost.
I have an account from way back before HoT was released. I’m not going to give it up but I’m also not going to pay another 40+ for an expansion that, after this long, should have dropped around 30 or less. That’s virtually the price of a full game and it’s ridiculous.
Then wait until it goes on sale or when the next expansion rolls out.
What do they really gain from spending resources to recode the game so that it works using a higher version of DX? What do players really gain? Would it be worth it over actual content?
Perhaps an understanding of what tribulation means would shed some light on things. I don’t recall tribulation mode ever being marketed as your typical “hard mode”.
Back in the old days, when you lost connection (or power), you had to start over.
It depends on when you check. The profit margin varies throughout the day.
Easier access to ascended armor boxes. Precursor crafting bringing the other T7 costs up. Damask may go back up depending on how the rest of the legendary armor collections go.
No. World two is fine how it is. If people want to simply blow through them then they can take the shortcuts. For those of us who enjoyed those maps, we can play it the normal way. Everyone wins.
This is what many many players demanded. There were constant threads of players demanding SAB to be released even if it didn’t include new content. It’s strange now since there’s people demanding more because that isn’t enough. Kind of the same thing with the duration. It’s like people demand one thing, get it, and then decide that they want more because they got what they had originally demanded.
You don’t even need to buy the infinite coin. Normal continue coins can be bought with baubles.
Good luck trying Tribulation mode with normal continue coins…..
There are videos that walk you through it. The jumping portions really are not all that difficult. There were many people that completed both worlds last time using just regular coins.
True enough. But since it almost always causes the thread to derail from people picking that up to discuss it, it’s best to throw in the imo anyway.
You are right that’s the best thing to do, but since for most people it’s obvious that what people talk about in forums are opinions, especially on that specific subject, I won’t walk on eggshells and apologize each time I forget to put a IMO in there.
The problem is that there are people who actually pass off their opinions as facts.

You don’t even have to devote an entire new slot for it. Just use a pre existing character. You were willing to devote your main to it so doing it for an alt shouldn’t matter.
How is this even a question?
Our daily lvl 2 swamp fractals runs are most IMPORTANT AND SERIOUS THING IN THE ENTIRE GAME! I mean, it’s really impossible to actually fail one of these as long as you can dodge out of some orange circles and autoattack, but I’ve done the math and the existence of your upleveled character in our group with the stat loss from your non-ascended armor adds exactly 4.37 extra seconds to run.
That’s COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! That’s 4.37 extra seconds you are keeping me away from obtaining the purely cosmetic item that hasn’t even been released yet and will one day clearly demonstrate how superior I am, because of my ability to do lvl 2 swamp runs over and over again with 4.37 seconds better efficiency!
It’s like you are STEALING from me! Why would you STEAL from me? WHY WOULD YOU DARE TO JOIN MY GROUP AND STEAL FROM ME? DO YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME YOU PLAY FOR FUN IN A TOTALLY CASUAL ENVIRONMENT WITH NO CHALLENGE THAT REQUIRES ME TO USE SOME ARBITRARY METRIC LIKE TIME PER RUN TO ESTABLISH HOW MUCH BETTER I AM THAN YOU?
I wish public PKing was a thing in this game so I can punch every upleveled noob DEAD IN THE GODkitten FACE WHEN THEY TRY TO STEAL FROM ME!
Doubtful it’s that low. Do you have the math that you can share?
No, I’m being satirical and don’t feel the need to share math anymore than you, who posted reasoning largely based on perception of uplevels.
There is clear downsides, but I could really care less if uplevels are in a casual fractal run, because as long as they high enough to have masterwork quality gear and some rares, it’s not a huge deal in the outcome.
The upscaling issue stopped being as bad as it was when stat points stopped being built into your trait choices. It still has very clear downsides, but they are just mostly due to the issue of gear. Leveling characters don’t have much besides masterwork and a few rares, which doesn’t upscale to be adequate to a level 80.
That issue makes this issue very variable with extreme ends of a large spectrum. You can make a reference to a lvl 10 and say upleveling is bad, but we’re talking about a character who most likely has purely blue items with one or two stat bonuses per item and sigil and rune choices not relevant to their build. There is nothing there to scale up.
That’s very different to a lvl 40-60 character who has masterwork and rare items with three stat bonuses and hopefully invested into a few silver into major rune and sigil choices relevant to their build. The quality of your weapon is probably the biggest influence and having a rare one makes a big difference, because it determines what weapon damage range you will get scaled up to at 80. That’s the base number all multipliers and the armor divisor are applied to, so an uplevel with a blue is at much, much bigger disadvantage.
Another issue is traits and utility skills, which do influence a character’s effectiveness, but that’s a class and build issue. At 45-60 range, you are maxxing out your second specialization line and since most classes only have two heavily damage focused specializations to begin, it’s much less of an issue than a level 10.
Utility skills are also class specific as well. Like my current end game daredevil build, mostly uses utility skills for survival and breaking bars; all the dps comes from weapon attacks and the Critical Strike trait line, all of which I would have available to me at the level 40ish area.
So like…when it comes to running casual fractals, I don’t give a kitten very much about up levels. It doesn’t influence the success of the event and I notice really marginal change in the completion of the fractals, because let’s be honest: if you are pugging casual level fractals, more times than not you are carrying a level 80 with a kittenty build or who is too busy chatting with his friends to be more effective than uplevel.
Now, fractals where AR starts to matter or a very low level character who doesn’t have the gear for the system to scale up…that’s different. But I tend to handle that more one on one privately before removing someone.
Then post a video, from beginning to end, of a pug group, consisting entirely of players within the level 45-60 range, doing the dredge fractal.
Mastery points are awarded by chapter which can originally appear confusing. You’ll see the same thing with the three orders.
How’s it a bug when they warn you of this happening before you enter?
How is this even a question?

Can you bypass that shortcut?
Depends on your skill level at SAB. You can get enough bauble bubbles for one blue weapon per day by completing both worlds on normal and TM.
Hop onto another character…
Though he’d have to get all the SAB ‘upgrades’ again on a new character.
Choices. SAB is out for another 18 days or so. They can go through the buffs that they have and then play it.
Hop onto another character…
World 2 was nerfed. The shortcuts cut off over half of zones 2 and 3. The wizard now doesn’t even damage you.
Don’t think it counts on infantile mode.
I bet some of those people with the hammer and axe looking at the last “buy” prices that haven’t been taken down are itching to get home, lol.
p.s. are king toad’s skins available? I need the focus for my green lantern.
All of the ones from tribulation mode should be.
You can get the same skins from the vendor outside SAB. These are account bound but it will still impact the market for the ones that are not.
Revenant was fairly easy as was thief. I don’t think that any of the classes gave me issues. I’d go with Revenant since you have ascended armor. You will have to complete the entire HoT story but it only takes at most 4 hours.
It behaves exactly like the arcade games.
You’re complaining about a policy that has been in effect since launch. You should have read about it before making any purchases.
