6 – GW2 druid

Well, to change it then a whole new damage reduction system should be created, it is so different that is like saying that orange is OP compared to grass :P
Toughness currently is added to the armor value and then that armor value is used in the damage formula from the person that is attacking you.

Damage = Weapon strength * Power * Skill coefficient / Armor

Armor = defense + toughness

What exactly you mean by scale?
Ferocity and Precision works differently because the stats they affect is a percentage and not a direct number, while toughness is a plain number so no need of such feature.

The difference is that GW2 isn’t really F2P, it is more like Free 2 Test.
F2P accounts have A LOT of hard restrictions so I wouldn’t worry about GW2 becoming a F2P focused game with P2W store and so on.

All the birthday rewards are character based, some of my characters got the 3rd Birthday reward, some still didn’t, so I think you need to just bite the bullet than wait for the rewards on its due time.

Oh the one in the center (I was talking about to the right), yes, that is the time till the next WvW score is updated.

That timer is the time left for the defense event ends.
Some achievements and dailies that requires you to defend something means that you need to hold whatever you are defending at least until the end of that timer, if they keep attacking then another timer starts for a 2nd defense event.

See these are what i am talking about. So if your thief going syvari is a bonus over other characters because of the long immobilize. I have read that engi elites are terrible also you get toolbelt skills based on those skills so racial actually makes a difference. I have heard that norm necromancer basically give the necro an escape that the just don’t have in their elite list.

So with that said does anyone know any more combinations on race class that do matter, because based on what people say it can make a big difference.

No no no no, you are looking at it wrongly.
It is not that those skills are really good and makes any difference, the thing is that those racial skills are not as useless as the other racials.
Asura Technobabble, and the sylvari and norn skills mentioned are just not useless, but all of them have better options with the regular skills, or at least some of those racials are better in a very specific situation becoming nearly useless.
Some racials like the norn trasformations are actually quite nice BUT the cooldown on them are huge and the duration really small making it just a nice trick to use for fun.

Also, as already mentioned, in PvP you can’t even use racial skills, so yeah … don’t worry about it at all, make the race you like the best and be happy.

That setup will run above 30 FPS on max setup for sure, most likely to be close or above 60 FPS, except of course in some world bosses and bigger WvW zerg fights where no one can get above 30 FPS.
If they could change the SSD to an Samsung EVO it would be better.

That’s not necessarily true, just heresay. They will be at the convention for 2 whole days, which means that they might do the Druid reveal at their booth or whatever, but not in their stage presentation. Nobody knows.

I hope so. I really want to be wrong on this one.

We all are hardcore (our main guild members have well above 10000 AP). And he was very surprised, but agreed in the end.

Interesting, I never thought in looking at that.
I just went to the leader board to check it and in my guild our top 60 members have over 10k AP and our top 172 are in the “90%” range from a total of 242 members.

We really need to change at least the 90% range to have a scale of 1 instead of 10 to the leaderboard mean anything, or even better rank the top 10000 instead of just top 1000 as suggested in this topic already.

martaug, seems that your “problem” isn’t being an altholic, the problem is that you don’t know what you want and keep deleting your characters.
I have all the 8 classes at lvl 80, all well geared, all have at least 110 PvP matches, and so on, and I have an slot for my future revenant, another for a future tengu (it is already holding the name) and another for key farm and testing.

The problem is there are too many players. with too few AP.
I just checked my friend list and from 3073 to 21955 are all in the 90% range, 1722 is in the 80%, and 506 AP is already in 50% lol

BTW I just remembered that in the GWguru forums (the “official” gw1 forums) the censor was “RED ENGINE GO” for every letter, so the “F bomb” would be “RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO”

I rarely type “kitten” and the few times it appear in my posts it is because of unintended censorship, like in “ar” + “senal” that becomes kitten nal …

I think it will be like Mawdrey on steroids, and probably also use materials that are/will be expensive.
I agree that it won’t be as expensive than the current precursors, but it won’t be cheap for sure.

I’m sick of it by playing almost three years and not feel rewarded for it. On the contrary, what I got because I had to pay to have bought gems to have an ascending equipment. Unlike adolescents aged 15 to 25 who mostly do not have children, job or something I have 39 years and do not feel that the game is fair to me rewarding me in 3 or 4 hours I can play every day. You developers are ignoring the casual gamers. I will not be making the insane grind you will put sure to indulge people who have the time to do it. Is fair only those who have the spare time can have the best items in the game?

I understand the concept of reward for effort, but think well, if you release the legendary equipments for the elite, let them ascended to the casual.

You have 2x the time I have per day and w/o gems I got:
Almost 21K AP, 2 full sets of asc armor (3/6 parts of my 3rd armor is done) about 8 asc weapons, a legendary weapon, every class at lvl 80, currently only rank 55 in PvP, above level 250 in WvW, all crafting skills maxed, dungeon master title, full luminescent set, dungeoneer almost done and list goes on.

Apparently you don’t really understand the concept of reward for effort.
You obviously have more time than I do, but somehow I earned WAY more than you say you did.
You don’t need to play hard to get rewards, you just need to play smart.

Yes you can, the new scavenger/collection system is just to give a non RNG option to get a precursor, not that it will be easier or cheaper, just not random.

1) It doesnt have to be a mainhand/offhand combo, correct? You could be two seperate twohanders if you wanted.

For that tittle you need 2 of the same legendary, no matter which one, it can be 2x howlers , 2x incenerators or 2x Eternities.
But if you make something like a Bolt and a Howler you won’t get the tittle, both legendary need to be the same.

You are limited to 1 per account from the collection, if you manage to get a 2nd precursor from Mystic Forge or drop you can make another copy.

3) If you did want to have 2 legendaries on the same character using a mainhand/offhand combo, what would be a good choice? I mean in terms of utility in game play. Dagger dagger jumps straight to my mind as I love playing thief, many other professions can use that combo, and incinerator is very cool. Pistol pistol…nah. Quip is annoying and not that great at least on thief but I dont know about other professions. I’m sure through warrior there are a lot of possiblities, but I’m just not familiar to know what would be good. And what about revenant? Will that open up any possibilities. Is sword sword possible on revenant?

2x Swords with rev seems like a really good idea and is a good option imo.

Depends. If I’m just playing around in open world I just use LtW to pierce things around with LB, otherwise Remorseless is the way to be.

Sure there are testers, but sometimes you work at a point of the code, then test it and all works, release it and then people notice an issue in a place that has nothing to do with the code you worked.
It is just impossible to test 100% of the game for every change you make.

I think that Anet never imagined that the PS reward would end being farmable, and now if they changed it too harshly players would get too mad, so they just capped a lot the farm, but it still works.

Your change would be awesome if it were implemented since the beginning, but now the rage would be unbearable.

I have 2 lvl 21’s parked in a JP.
The chances is being very random lately, for 15 days I got none and then for 3 days in a row I got 2 doubloons each and next day only 1 got it.
I get about 9 silver doubloons per month.

Depends on what you are doing, if you are changing just based on aesthetics then you won’t even be level 10 to get the key.
If you are just playing and later you noticed you don’t like your character, then 1 week sounds reasonable.
If you are F2P then you don’t even have an issue, just make a new account.
The amount of new players affected by that change is really small, and even for that small small group it is just an inconvenience.

EDIT: Also, with the old system, an undecided player that made the first PS arc several times was more rewarded than a player that sticked with your character and kept playing, now you’ll get that 1 key and the other characters you keep making that week won’t be rewarded again and again.

How does it hurt new players?
You think regular players creates a new character and complete the Personal Story more than once per week?

I think there is only a volunteer for the “professions” sub forum, not for each specific profession.

If you pre purchase HoT, yes.

Yeah, GW2 has some design issues for some OCD/completionist players.
Like the achievements that aren’t obtainable and some skins like the celebration hat, you’ll be forced to look at those empty icons knowing there is nothing you can do to fill them.

That is why I said “available to you” and “if possible”. Do not buy BLSK if you don’t have it.

Yes, any exotic has the same chances.
I would suggest to exchange dungeon tokens into cheap exotic armor piece and salvage it, if you don’t like to run dungeons then do PvP dailies and get dungeon weapon/armor boxes and also the tokens and salvage them all.
Also, try to use the best salvage kit available to you, if possible the BLSK.

No matter the time any event starts, it will be bad for half the world.
You’ll only miss the first hours of the release but when NA go to sleep you’ll be playing it, so … I don’t see what the problem is.

The difference is that tomes of mentorship won’t keep your level progression to the next level, while tomes of knowledge will maintain.
Example, if you are lvl 40 + 50% of exp to 41 and use tomes of mentorship you’ll be lvl 41 + 0% exp, with tomes of knowledge you would be lvl 41 + 50% exp.
Also, tomes of knowledge can be used at lvl 80 to get spirit shards, and tomes of mentorship you can’t.

Before the defiance kicks in, the CC have its full effect, daze/stun/knockdown all will interrupt and do their respect extra effect.

Ele has tons of burn, and it is quite obvious, I don’y know why OP thought that Berserker had more, I watched that video later (I was at work when I posted) and you can actually reach 25 stacks of burn and about 20k burning damage.

Yes, but the problem is, the 1st player that use any CC will trigger defiance and after that it becomes extremely hard to remove it and then have that 1 chance to interrupt, meanwhile the boss will be immune to CCs.

I am looking for a screenshot with an isolated solitary elementalist putting more than 10 contemporary stacks of burn on a target with a condition tick higher than the one in the warrior screenshot, with no food or utility activated. Actually you can reach over 15 stacks of burning

EDIT: He is using food, but differently from Berserker you don’t need to fill a bar and then have a small window of time to do that burn.

After all this, can you guys imagine the amount of pressure over the Druid devs?
Druids needs to be amazing to quench the thirst of the rangers and boy we are thirst.

CC works but not normally.
Most champions and bosses have Unshakable and when you CC you trigger Defiance

People usually fool around in Lion’s Arch, events like Pink Day also happens there.

Yes the minimum recommended space accounts the whole game + extra empty space needed for your computer to run and other functions.
Currently GW2 core minimum space is 25GB, HoT minimum is 35GB but several features that we’ll get in HoT are already in our client, like parts of the new maps, the WvW maps, weapons and armor skins and so on.

I live in Brazil and my monthly quota for download is about 60GB (I’m not really sure because I never reached that) yours can’t be that much lower.
