It is amazing, sword/axe + hammer is great, glint’s heal is amazing when you learn how to use properly, it makes you pop the heal and look for there the damage is concentrated and jump in there.
If you are running low on health and all the healing are on CD you can move back a bit, swap to hammer, cast hammer #4 and the auto attack will heal you.
Glints F2 just to pop it during fights to get all the boons and spike your damage combining with Shiro’s heal and watch HP bars melt is beautiful.
Herald is pretty close to me as Reaper in fun and power, I’m also enjoying Dragon Hunter more than I thought but I also wan’t expecting that much :P

The number of strikes was reduced from 7 to 5 and the cooldown on Smoke Assault was reduced from 24s to 20s, the damage on the strikes was not reduced
That is great! Not a nerf at all. A reduction in burst total, but shorter CD F2s and #3 skills are far better. Time wise, it now aligns better with pet swapping.

The damage per hit wasn’t reduced , ok, but they are hitting less times now.
Before in 2 minutes you could use it 5 times (24*5=120) in a total of 35 hits, now you can use it 6 times in 2 minutes (20*6=120) in a total of 30 hits, it IS a DPS nerf.
Having the skill on a 20s untraited or traited 16s CD means it works better with pet swaps and all other pet traits that deal with swapping or F2 use. This is both SA and SC. Who cares about a small amount of damage, it really does not matter at all. Just get over it. They are not going to change it back again.
And with 24sec traited it gets down to 19 sec, so what?
Also what got me is you saying “Not a nerf at all.” , yes it WAS a nerf to DPS, I agree the F2 with SC is better, I love the on demand smoke field, but you can’t say there wan’t a nerf at all.

The pet is also autoattacking more in the meantime, since it no longer casts Smoke Field off cooldown. This helps make up some of the lost DPS from Smoke Assault.
Pet is also missing 2 might stacks, but yeah, it may even out IF the target isn’t moving much, otherwise it is still a DPS loss.

Cause you can combo through it for blinds now since you can drop it on yourself + you can still burst spike with smoke assault not on the F2?
I think those are pretty solid reasons.
you could do the same before but we clearly have different opinions here.
You cried about how you couldn’t control the smoke field and now I cry about how I can’t control the burst spike, same concept different ways.
What I’m trying to say that it was better to have the control of the spike instead of this “support” maybe if they add blind to the field it could be decent.
You can control the 1st use of the smoke assault and if it uses again during a fight it is just an uncontrollable DPS gain, while you can also control the smoke field before BUT if it uses again in the middle of the fight you can be covering important fields and be an uncontrollable DPS loss.

Of course … there must be a cost, lets reduce the number of attacks in 29%, taking the CD reduction buff this is a total of ~25% nerf after the 50% nerf

This is seriously the first time in a mmo where I’ve considered rerolling to a new class. If i didn’t have 100% map completion and full ascended on my ranger I’d be playing something cheesy like a elementalist or revenant
Get your asc set and move to a Daredevil or Scrapper (I prefer scrapper), but still a rev or reaper with exotic gear will perform much better in PvE.
I moved to rev and I finally knew how it feels like to play a powerful class (I have all classes at 80 but none was fully ascended like my ranger), I was impressed by my Ranger when hitting for 4k auto attacks with LB in some events and then with rev I reached ~8k auto attacks with sword, and that hits WAY faster than LB, even when the rev gets its nerfs (if anet cares about balance) it will still be incredible.

I won’t quit my ranger, BUT it won’t be my main anymore, I’ll unlock Druid and once a week during Raids if my party has no healer I’ll log, otherwise I’ll play as my Reaper or Herald.

Seems like there is a bug where the Astral Force deplete while out of combat, just like warrior’s adrenaline, and since you can’t enter Celestial Astral Form without full bar it seems like a terrible bug.

Remember, you’ve seen that many designers are actively reviewing professions. So don’t give up hope, and be sure to keep in mind that the devs have to look at the big picture as well as the small. There is a lot of careful and critical review taking place, and I have a feeling there will be other changes in the future. (And no, I don’t know what they are, but I’m glad that the professions are getting so much attention these days, and this change seems a really great step in the right direction!)
After the ridiculous nerf in Celestial Form (so ridiculous that I still think it is a bug) and now a hard nerf (-50% damage and removal of the on demand smoke field making it now AI controlled …) to the only good thing that happened to ranger in that expansion, the smokescale, can you come back here and tell us to not give up hope?
Was there ever any update where rangers got buff without a trade off or followed by a hard nerf?

Change your server won’t improve because all EU server are located in Germany (even the French one).
Try yo test your connection pinging to Germany (I forgot where exactly the server are, is it in Frankfurt?) and see how your connection behaves.

No, you need 400 to unlock EVERYTHING, including reaper sword and armor skins.
Also, I’m pretty sure that simply playing the game will be the fastest way to unlock them.

Sword needs only 1 change to make it perfect:
Leap only activate when the enemy hit is out of range.
That way when you are in close range you wont leap, if you don’t leap you wont be rooted, if you are not rooted you can’t complain, at the same time in PvP/WvW when the enemy is running away or if you de-target and attack you’ll be able to leap to/away from your enemy.

I just get the best tool and use for everything, the price difference is too insignificant to justify the struggle to keep remembering to change it (I missed so many oris and ancients because I used a lower level tool) also bag space isn’t cheap.

Besides of what CandyHearts said, keep in mind that they are devs and they can just equip whatever they want, if they want to equip light armor on their guardian they can.

Well, we can’t answer for sure BUT, since you need to be level 80, and at level 80 you have points enough to unlock everything … I will assume yes, you do need.

That is why ranger is kinda hated in dungeons, LB in the preferred weapon of many that create a ranger and it makes us try to be as far as possible while in dungeons you better be as close as possible to the boss and the rest of your party.

After much tribulation I was able to make a change to WHAO to remove the static boon stack application on Might and Stability stacks being copied; this was actually a fairly difficult change to implement as we don’t really have support for copying boons with preset durations.
This’ll go in with the 23rd.

I disagree with the ram. Speed ram helps with minimum fps (specially in intensive cpu games like gw2), which translates in a smoother experience.
Also, that 212 evo will be short if you plan to do any overclock.
Unless you over clock the ram, all ram runs as fast as the MoBo/CPU will allow by default. For most its 1600mhz.
In that case it isn’t overclock, you are just setting the BIOS correctly or using a new RAM in a older MoBo.
Overclock would be if you make a 1333mhz RAM run at 1600 for example.

The default key setup allow you to dodge jump with near 100% success, just use your thumb to press space+V.
But as others already said, such macro isn’t allowed.

Yeah depends on how your Windows installation is.
In my case when I bought kitten I had a dedicated partition just for windows so I mirrored that partition to my new SSD and done, everything was working.
But if you have only 1 HDD and everything installed there, then a fresh install as Riku said may be a better option.

I agree with some cond on AA but not burn, it is just too strong, bleeding or poison would be better imo.
I did the math on it. If they add a 0.5s burn to each pulse of Solar Beam, you would be able to run Apothecary armor, it would do nearly the same damage as a Clerics set.
If they added the burn, you could choose to run Sinister, the Staff will still be usable with Sharpened Edges for a DPS set and would have the reduced healing to compensate.
It just makes a LOT more builds viable if there is a short burn on the AA. It’s balanced and win-win.
We already have more than enough Bleeding and Poison and Burning just fits Solar Beam perfectly, thematically.
Currently is there any skill/trait that apply fractions of seconds of a condition? I know that the game can calculate it, but is there anything that apply like 1.5 poison, 0.5 burn?
EDIT: Yeah 0.5 burn would be ok
