I didn’t play last year at that time. Are you still instanced with ~10 other people? Does everyone still rage about charr? :/
Anet was pretty clever about it, now everyone turns into a wisp form, so everyone has the same size.
EDIT: The hard part about the clocktower is since it is 100% timed you can’t have any lag, about any lag you have the things won’t be at the place you are looking and any wait the green goo will catch you, in the 1st year I died from the goo stuff mid jump so many times and my ping was just around 300ms, also even in the very end the time window to jump into the window is very small.

I agree with some cond on AA but not burn, it is just too strong, bleeding or poison would be better imo.

Ascended zerker armor: check
Ascended trinkets: check
Ascended sword: check
Legendary axe: check
Ascended staff: check
Ascended hammer: (I have an unopened asc weapon box just in case)
Ascended shield: (I have an unopened asc weapon box just in case)
Scrolls and tomes to make 10 level 80’s if needed: check
Name saved: check (Sir Belzebu just like my GW1 main)
Runes and Sigils: still not sure which I’ll use but I have gold to buy any so … check

Six Dragons: four down, two to go. (If my reckoning is correct) What will you do when all six are down, then? Are they really down?
What? No. Far from it, only 1 down, Zhaitan, with HoT we’ll start the hunt against our 2nd dragon Mordremoth.
BTW pretty much only the Story Mode dungeons are the ones that have lore (excluding Arah, the explorable paths are amazing lore-wise) so you wouldn’t have issues to form a group for that.
If you have a REALLY hard time to see the lore in dungeons then use Youtube in your favor, I particularly prefer that method since you can really pay attention to the lore and not the game mechanics.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
You need to destroy it, yes.
If you wait too long the bloom will explode and damage around it, if you “destroy” it before that, it will open and you can stand above it.

- Grace of the Land: This trait has been re-worked. Instead of its former behavior, allies affected by your celestial avatar abilities gain 3% damage and condition damage increase for 8 seconds. This buff stacks 5 times.
This buff will pulse per second while in CA, right?
Sounds like a great improve, awesome.
- Lingering Light: This trait has been re-worked. Instead of its former behavior, when you heal an ally their next outgoing attack will heal them (based upon your healing) and blind their target.
With the new Grace of the Land and current Ancient Seeds, this GM trait needs a decent CD time to be worthwhile, I suggest something like around 10~15 sec CD?
- Glyph of Unity: This skill now has a 400 initial effect radius and a 600 radius leash.
Sounds good, I would also rise the effect time for an extra 2 seconds and have a 40% uptime of that skill.
- Glyph of Empowerment: The radius for this skill has been increased to 600.
Hopefully all glyph will have a radius of 600, good change.
- Glyph of Alignment: Increased the weakness and cripple duration on this skill from 3s to 5s. Reduced the cast damage by 66%. This skill now applies 3 stacks of poison.
The poison is awesome, the raw damage is fair, good job.
- Ancestral Grace: Is now an evade and will immediately end upon reaching your destination.
Couldn’t be better 10/10 would cast again.
- Celestial Avatar Form: Entering this form now has a 10s CD. Charging of Astral force by healing has been reduced by 40%. Charging of Astral force by outgoing strikes has been increased by 200%. You now retain half your current astral force if you decide to break form early.
Sounds good, hope that you also add the Death Shroud mechanic where you lock the regular skills for a fraction of seconds when you leave the form so you don’t cast skills accidentally, specially Staff #3.
- Celestial Avatar Form: Skills that heal have had their base heals reduced by 15-25% and increased their healing coefficients from 100-145%. This should leave base heals solid while really rewarding players who elect to use healing power stats.
Nice.
- (Celestial Avatar) Lunar Impact: Reduced the daze on this skill from 3s to 2s. This skill is now ground targeted and will blast finish correctly.
We all knew it was coming, still a good skill though.
Bonus: Bristleback Pet F2 is no longer the Sharpen Spines ability. The F2 is now Spike Barrage to give you more rewarding control.
Awesome.
About pets:

Ranger won’t be allowed in raids at all, only chance you have to play as one is if your guild have a “pity spot” in the party and then you can kinda build as you want.
Ranger had a hard time to find a role that others couldn’t do better and in raids you’ll also be competing with elite specs, so … my opinion is just build for something like the sinister meta build, at least we are among the top 3 cond builds in the game even after the expansion.

My fear is that once HoT launches, Druid will never be looked at again.
I’m sure they will, but changes/fixes won’t be as fast as WHaO was

No you don’t need, it is recommended.
Also, you know you can get ascended trinkets after a while by just logging into the game, right?
Ascended weapons is WAY more accessible then armor, if you have asc trinkets and weapons and exotic armor you barely have any difference from a full asc player.BTW there is no grind in GW2, you grind only if you want to, no content at all requires you to be full ascended and much less legendaries.
Cups are “recommended” in Football… ask any guy who’s ever been stepped on by a cleat as to whether or not it was needed lololol same applies here
HAHA exactly.
Cups gives a good error margin where if “fecal matter” happens you won’t suffer too much, just like full ascended.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
lol now you’ll need ascneded for endgame… It’s somewhat more expensive then normal exotic gear…

What you install is just the client and it doesn’t have any tie to your account.
So, as they said above, you are fine.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I love it the way it is.
So you wouldn’t like if you could dodge at any moment of the leap animations?
You would also not like if the leap only triggered if the target is out of reach?
I’m also used to sword now, but sometimes it gets annoying to have to constantly fight against its mechanics to not lose control and take advantages of its mobility.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

They would have fixed this if it wasn’t intended by now.
For sure.
Also, things like necro minions, ele summons and guardian spirit weapons still works while they are in downed state, don’t they?

Also you can check all the skills and traits here and see what thief line you can swap with daredevil and see if it improves or not your build.

Nope.

Ranger can be the condition damage dealer, the ranger sinister meta build rivals with engineer in cond damage, so that is a good start.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I might be alone by saying this, but please do not change the way it works. While I agree that it’s a little wonky when learning how to use it, I also believe it’s very rewarding once you get the hang of it and know how/when to use it. It has its own niche and I enjoy its play style very much.
So please, do not change it.

You must be either a WvW roamer or a PvP player, am I right?
EDIT: I think what most people complain isn’t about the leap, is about the root while you leap.
The leap is nice, but sadly that mechanic doesn’t allow you to dodge/move freely when you need.

Well … I made Frostfang and Jormag’s Breath (and put it in an asc sword) for my ranger, guess who will use both after HoT, my rev for sure, coincidentally s/a is also among the revenant’s highest damage setup, and above that all it is a quite fun weapon set to play, has a good evade time with sword #3, blink with axe #4, a control skill to stack mobs with axe #5.
I like my ranger so much but I’m finding less and less reasons to play it in PvE every day, my ranger will likely ending as a heal bot that I’ll log once a week if my guild doesn’t have someone else.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Such a thing is so situational that a formula is impossible to make.
There is formula for direct damage:
Damage done = (Weapon strength) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target's Armor)
Cond damages like:
Burning:
0.155 * Condition Damage + 1.55 * Level + 7.5
Bleeding:
0.06 * Condition Damage + 0.25 * Level + 2
And so on.
On each profession sub forums you’ll probably end finding the meta build and rotations for max damage, but a global formula doesn’t exists.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Also, it is much more likely that ‘E’ is referring to a single entity and not a group or race, it just like if a Tengu sent a letter and sing as ‘T’.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
-Why do dragon minions take the form of existing beings (not corrupted, that’s obvious- Destroyers aren’t corrupted beings but still take the form of trolls, crabs, etc).
Probably just random coincidences of design. You build a low slung, armored, battle minion, and somebody says “it’s a Destroyer Crab!” You didn’t necessarily set out to copy a crab though.
True.
It is like people saying “Well, don’t you think it is too much coincidence finding pyramids in Mexico, Egypt and some parts of Asia?” but actually it is not coincidence, if you try to make something as tall as you can what do you do? You make a big base and then get smaller the higher you get, if you follow that logic with a simple form as a square then you end with a pyramid.
So the exalted, mursaat and even some margonite may have similar form from some logic that we don’t know.

Popping in,
The developers are reading this still. They are not going to post anything until they are certain of any changes they are going to make. The thread is not being ignored, just not being posted in at the moment. They don’t want to shoot them selves further in the foot by saying something and not following through with it 100%.
They also don’t want to start a chain reaction of: This class raged and got ton of responses from developers so now they hate ____ and ____. So now _ and _ rage and start expecting the same thing ranger go.
Again, It would be nice if they popped in and posted more; however, they are still reading this thread. (waits to get flamed).
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Maybe high magical beings tend to assume a form like the mursaats, just like things tend to form a sphere in our universe.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Yeah, you don’t need to worry at all, I personally think it looks great and I see a ranger with that
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
It doesn’t affect my play style and will only appear after certain skill sets are applied, a bug? Hmmm … No, not a bug! A bug would be something that would effect playing, like rubber banding.
No, a bug is anything that produce an unexpect behavior/action.
In that specific case is an graphical bug, a pretty common one btw.

I should learn/practice more C#/Python , that is the main reason I didn’t send my CV for the Data Engineer spot, I’m focused in VB6 and VB.NET (besides the SQL Server stuff obviously)

I don’t regret paying for the game. Exchange in Brazil is around 1 dollar per 3,80 reals (yes, so much expensive).
And still I bought the HoT Ultimate
I’m glad that when GW2 was released, dollar was around R$ 2,00 , good times …

This topic was beat to death already …
Veterans have up to 3 years of gameplay in advantage, also that is how economy works, service/products devalue with time, I remember when I 1st bought a pen drive (2005) I paid $50 for a 125MB one and it was amazing, now I can buy a 4GB one for 10$ , and guess what? I don’t feel cheated about it.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I wasn’t saying it is good at all, I just pointed where it is.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
The range is now baseline.
The 20% CD is with Honed Axes GM trait in BM line.
I didn’t notice any damage reduction.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Since spirits are a ranger skill, I’m sure it won’t be changed or even looked for a while, so I won’t even waste time making suggestions for it.
and thats how nothing gets done.
During the ranger CDI as many suggested and I supported the idea of changing the spirits into orbs (like the current wisp is) and follow the ranger by default, my idea is the same but make the spirit take the same damage as the ranger, that way it rewards good play and positioning, since if you dodge you save all your spirits, if you get hit all of them will, also the spirits taking damage system is maintained, the AoE effect is also the same, only changes the position and how it moves.
But since it was ignored for almost 2 years, and even worse, instead of making the mobility better they made it stationary no matter or what, so … I’m just wasting time writing this.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
To be honest, I tried to use spirits as a healing Druid and I found 2 main issues
- Since AoEs have 3~5 target limit I ended sometimes healing my spirits instead of players
- In places where Druids may have a spot (Raid, WvW and PvP) the combats are very mobile and AoE heavy so spirits doesn’t help/last at all and while they are in CD we don’t have much to provide to the party since we wasted utility slots with them.
Since spirits are a ranger skill, I’m sure it won’t be changed or even looked for a while, so I won’t even waste time making suggestions for it.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Seems that what you are missing is when to dodge, no matter how hard something hits, if you dodge then you’ll be fine.
So, you need a bit more practice and learn to identify the animations, I suggest you to look for videos showing how to do the dungeons.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Well … now you can expect SotW cast be “fixed” to 1s underwater.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Let’s see if it worked
EDIT: it worked for me … Your text has 97 characters, I don’t see why it is causing a problem, BTW in my sig options only the 1st one is checked, the rest is blank.
EDIT2: Is it a quote from Undertale?

If it was offered, would you give Druid and the CAF mechanics to Guardians in trade for the Dragonhunter specialization?
I kinda think I would if Dragonhunter traps were “Glyphs” and could be ground targeted. Just a thought.
So you would trade if their mechanics where totally different … even Dragonhunters would want to trade with your version of dragonhunter lol
Anyway, my answer is no. DH is one of the lackluster elite specs, Druid seems like a great Raid and WvW class and can find a spot in PvP, but in PvE (read dungeon and open world) druids are terrible, luckily you can still play as ranger and use the new pets that are amazing.

GW2 HoT exp- will be cheaper at it's release?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Belzebu.3912
My bad, I didn’t mean at the FIRST day of it’s release.
I was meaning, let’s say 3-6 months after the release, it would not be the same price, am I right?
Now that is a lot different from your OP:
I was wondering, at it’s official release, will it be cheaper…
EDIT: As I mentioned previously, yes it will get cheaper after a while for sure, but I think it will take more than 6 months for that.

I strongly doubt that HoT price will change right after its release, but after a while, lets say 8 months to around a year later, it will get a discount for sure.

You can wait till HoT and then salvage armor and remake your necro.
Or buy a character slot and make a 2nd necro.

Well, from the stream I gathered this information… Ireno (spelling) was not using any Healing Power gear, and thus was still healing for a good amount.
I fell for the same mistake, in the video they where using an amulet but we don’t know which one (might be cleric, who knows?), the tooltips showed in the corner is the numbers without amulets.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
They won’t make a whole new loot tag system just to accommodate the Druid focused playstyle, so you either find a way to tag enemies while healing or just go heal and be fully aware that you won’t get loot.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
Do the Druid apply any boon at all?
Reading the wiki, and I can’t see anything
Nope, no boons at all, druids have plenty of cond cleanse and access to dazes.

- Lots of Respect for the Dev’s for making this thread, knowing there was lots of controversy, and getting feedback from the community to find out what the community wants to see from the Druid. I truly hope the Dev’s take all of this feedback into consideration and change up alot of the Druid.
They didn’t make this thread, Heimskarl Ashfiend created, then a mod wrongly merged yo a generic topic and then to fix that mess dev made this thread and re-merged the original one.
