So the patch is coming

Bloodstealer.5978

Will it fix all the gameplay bugs that are complained vastly by the players or it will just only contain raid content?

Should we start writing bad reviews on HOT if it doesn’t contain any bugs fixing?

You misunderstand what patch day is.. its the start of a new patch loop cycle.. ..
One patch to update it all
Another patch to fix it
A few more patches should surely be enough
Then in the darkness.. switch off and go watch tv cos by now the bugs are increasing faster than they can get re-patched

Okay thanks to those that didnt try saying i was making this up. I thought I’d keep you updated once this was resolved, and as of 10mins ago I have my gold back thanks to support.

Here’s a copy of the email they sent me and a screen of the 5 mails they sent me in-game each one containing 100g to the total of 500g.

“Thank you for getting back to us!

I sent 500 gold to your mailbox! If you do not see the mail, simply reduce the mailbox content to allow pending mails to drop into the box. Please be careful to remove the mailed item using the correct character.

I apologize for the inconvenience! Have a wonderful day!

Regards,

GM Leia
Guild Wars 2 Support Team"

The issue is this current system is flawed and i can again find myself being the victim of trolls abusing the system to try to get me or others banned. Even the support team doesnt trust their own detecting systems, if they did they would have returned the 500g in ONE mail instead of splitting it up into 5. Because they know sending it in one mail will likely flag my account yet again. I’m thankful to GM Leia for my gold back of course, but still angry this flawed detection system and its false positives, not to mention the lack (in my case) of proper checks before removing gold from players accounts.

Well ANET never came here to clarify the mess.. thankfully Clone has done, and grz on getting back what was rightfully yours… this now leaves the playerbase in a state of unknowing once more and I will hazard a guess this is gunna make for some kind of soup bowl back at HQ … let the floodgates be opened!

Is there any point discussing the 250 limit on these slots? It’s great to have a dedicated slot for something but when it hits 250, what then? Is 250 a technical limit or an economic one? Could it ever be raised to 999 for example?

Pretty sure you can expand the slots to 1500 for each.. I am currently sitting at 1000.

Bank slot stacks are however limited to 250

ANET can we get some clarification on this one, as this could indeed open up more than a few cans of worms for players.

Because if it’s true that it happened to him, then it reveals that on this game it is possible to grief others with bot gold. He will want to contest this anyways, because the incident is a strike against his account. It does impact on that account in the future, and potentially other accounts associated.

There was some person here some time ago that say they got grief by some person buy gold and send to them. Anet show it was a lie and player buy gold from gold seller. I can not find this post now but I remember this.

Never believe what person say when they say innocent. From what read in this forum most time they are not.

Which is why it’s in ANET’s interest and the playerbases to know if this is indeed a player misleading us or if in fact there is actual issues with this system that need to be addressed now before ANET dive in with both feet again.

The problem with this is it in itself its open to abuse. Thanks to this “system” I’ve lost 500g from my account that was legitimately earned by myself.

I was warned someone wanted to get me banned because they didnt like me. Hours later I get a mail sent to me containing 500g from someone I don’t know. Thinking this is some kind of scam/bait to try to get my account flagged and maybe banned i play it smart and click the “return to sender” link in the mail. This returns the gold back to the sender without it going into my account.

Next day I log on my account funds have gone from 880g down to 380g, so 500g missing from my account. I now think it was anet who took the gold, I dont have access to my email account so no idea if it was indeed them (have opened a ticket though 1948145).

So I suspect on sending me the gold the troll got my account flagged and then later the anet team removed 500g thinking it was dirty money. As said the problem is the dirty money was returned to the sender and never got put in my account. So the 500g they infact took was MY legitimately farmed gold. So they didn’t double check that 500g was returned to sender, they just took my gold…..

Still waiting for support to admit this to me and give me my farmed gold back. I have never brought gold and never will nor would I accept any gold that I suspected of being dirty money. So it would have been nice if the team had checked my account properly before taking 3 weeks+ worth of gold from me without any questions or checks…

NOT IMPRESSED!

Rely on bots to flag accounts, that is good. However then simply removing gold without and proper checks after that, should NOT be happening.

I would like ANET to post here on this posters issue.. maybe we’re not getting the full story or indeed ANET have fallen fowl of their own checks… not unheard of, but neither is avoidance of the truth.

ANET can we get some clarification on this one, as this could indeed open up more than a few cans of worms for players.

GMs are awful in this game

If “something breaks” its either software or hardware. That is not something, to the best of my knowledge a GM in ANY MMO is responsible for. In the vast majority of instances, GMs are responsible for dealing with player behavior.

There is an in-game bug report feature, as well as the tech support side of this forum, for everything else.

DDO GM’s for me have always been way superior.. get a problem, devs come and sort the problem out or at least get you moved out or reset a boss that’s bugged.
Heck many MMO’s even have commands incorporated to get you out of stuck points..

GW2 seems to have such a lot of places you can get into and get stuck, forcing a WP.. or perform a dodge or a teleport only to find your rooted forever or stuck into terrain… a simple /stuck command like say in SWTOR that allows a limited amount of uses every “X” amount of time, which places your character a small distance away and back in play.

How do you have a guild hall and do missions with 2 people.

I must have misunderstood something huge about the new mechanics.

You can do the basic Bounties for 300 favour each week in PvE… not really that tuff anymore but moving up to the next tier becomes a little more difficult unless you get outside help to push you along… the wvw ones I don’t think you can actually do with 2 as it requires 3 to claim a location if I remember the heads up on it before launch (not done a wvw one yet so might have to check on that though).
PvP – no idea never even looked at it tbh.

PvP I remember seeing that you need 3 for it. I guess I can see how you’d make some progress if one mission is possible. I’m assuming they asked for help for claiming their guild hall though. I’ve never heard of 2 people claiming one.

Yeah kinda thought that would be min 3 as well, makes sense.

As fir them getting their Hall with just 2… it’s more than likely just BS for the sake of the “mememe” moment he hoped to gain from his post. I am almost certain that they brought in outside help to complete the Guild Hall Mission, but there is nothing wrong with that.
As for the missions.. 2 man guild = very slow favour accumulation – upgrading the Hall from ground up to the Mine – nah I still smell a big fast rat on that. Guild Leaders know just how much time, effort and costs are involved and a 2 man band just wont be able to get them that quickly.. .. so yeah I still think there is a whole chunk of “I am not telling the whole truth” still missing from the outset… but really let’s just say grz to him and get on with our own farming.

I commend the OP’s duprass for establishing and upgrading their own guild hall. That is indeed awesome and deserving of praise, etc.

I am less fond of the OP’s post and especially the title. Instead of saying, “stop complaining, you lazy sourdough batards — it’s not that hard,” the OP could have simply said, “here’s how to build up a two-person guild hall” or “my two-person guild prefers the new system because…” and explained how you did it. There is no need to diminish the efforts of others or to brag about the accomplishment.

tl;dr gz on the guild hall and please consider restarting the thread

The fact that he did not explain how he did it with 2 people leaves doubt. Like you mentioned, the OP could have came here with a detailed description of how he actually did it. Instead he came in like a pompous kitten and said I’m cool and all those that aren’t cool need to bugger off. I think he’s full of it and leaving a lot of how it was really done out of his story.

Actually the OP did say.. in answer to something I put out there… he said he played TP while his wife farmed the necessaries to get the upgrades, all by her lonesome – - believe that if will… personally I smelt a rat having seen the effort required by my own guild which is only not too much larger in size and we put a lot of time into GW2.
I still think the credit card theory came into play a lot more than was being said .. each to there own though.

As for them 2 manning the guild hall quest – video or it never happened I guess, so they would of pugged another 4-7 members in order to get it done (I found personally having a max of 9 players the best size for success but less than 6 was also a pain with the timers in mind)

I would love to see you motivate 300 active players to donate 0.17 of a glass mug. You spit nonsense and are consumed by some bitterness. Be honest about your opinions concerning this topic, and don’t hide your bias behind a nosensical wall of text based around your imagination and conjecture.

I’m interested in your unfiltered opinion concerning the topic or arguments made by people you disagree with.

Lol if you need to motivate 300 – 500 members to have to donate any of that with that many arms and legs at your disposal, well that’s speaking volumes to me.
It should take minutes to fill up the Notary requirements…. if you want to disagree with that then maybe your not that great at that so called leadership and teamwork thing and maybe you would be better off letting that sleeping dog lye.

As for bitterness, why should I be bitter.. me and mine have what we need already.. opinion and understanding of others issues in getting the same things is nothing to do with bitterness.. or are you just trying to raise insults and argument for any other reason than self gratification.
If you wanna argue the logic and the maths that’s up to you just please avoid making yourself out to be a poor guild leader with arguments like you have put forward to counter it.. ooh wait you didn’t you just said organising your guild to farm out a few pieces of sand and a few seeds each on maps they are going to be running anyway is hard work…. as I said, speaks volumes .. or maybe you have no real involvement with your guild members other than placing a number on their backs.. either way it clearly shouts out your ignorance to the issues and imbalance that others are seeing with it all…

Thankfully and without bitterness me and mine have been able to work through all that rubbish already, but that doesn’t make the system balanced and fair and the amount of forum time showing on this subject seems to suggest others feel the same.. otherwise the likes of you wouldn’t want to have to pushed aside with these “ANET close the threads plzzz” – cos its easy to ignore the issues rather than debate them openly.

Bottom line is ANET probably knew there would be a lot of feelings, disappointment and argument around this subject because afterall its only one of the most wanted content additions that players have asked for since launch. So they provided as little amount of info leading up HoT as was possible to ensure it didn’t affect pre-orders and its why they have not commented on the topics and explain their shortcoming on this system since the threads began emerging.

But hey I get it, you don’t agree and that’s your prerogative.. I happen not to agree with you (see what I did there).

Lols FOX.. we have more than enough gold to do what we want.. doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion on what I find to be a total imbalance on the weighting on guilds.
Yeah organising a large guild has its challenges.. but lets take a look at the basics.

Guild A has 500 members (approx. 300+ active)
Guild B has 5 members (all active)

Before they can even put up a Pug for their Guild Hall there is a small trial of putting up 100gold
Now lets see who takes longer to farm enough wealth to start their guild assault ….
Both Guilds are organised extremely well…
Guild A requires each player to put in 20 – 35 silver into the guild coffer – Done in seconds
Guild B requires each member to place 20gold into the guild coffer – Considerably longer, and pretty bang out of the question for a lot of newer players, newer guilds

But finally both Guilds have there Quest fees paid –
Guild A does theirs at first attempt cos they are organised and teamwork is brill!!
Guild B still waiting for a few more – It is almost 11pm and pugging is slowing up and 2 of their guild work nights…. ding finally get enough for an attempt
Guild B Leader organises 2 groups and opens the instance, all step in and explains what they have to do, what the mechanics around it are and all understand and say YAR!
Off they go.. but eek soon starts to struggle and the pugs start running around like headless chickens not listening to the guild leader who is doing his best via his TS channel to keep it on track – ultimately though its a FAIL!
Attempt 2… same, Attempt 3 long wait for a few more then finally as the last spot is filled one of his guildies has to succumb to the demands of the day and go sleep (its 1am btw).
But finally they get lucky a few days later and they achieve success – hugs all round !!!
Guild B has their Guild Hall!!!!
Now the grindfest and farmfest begin – - Sand & Seeds are the order of the day, how many Glass Mugs (50), how many Kegs (10) doesn’t sound too bad does it …., until you do the maths and that’s just to get a tavern1
Guild A – So hard to organise the guild so each member knows they have to enough mats to make 0.1 – 0.17 glass mugs each and 0.02 – 0.03 Kegs each
Guild B – Ahh its a breeze – that’s only 5 glass mugs each and 2 Kegs each.. .. not hard but time consuming

Add to that the rest of the stuff to farm – Obi Shards, various stacks of standard T5 /T6 mats oh and of course not forgetting the 50 Elonian Wines to purchase
Of course lets also consider that Guild B might have newer players involved and may also need to grind out the necessary crafting levels to craft certain things .. ..

All achievable yes, but the costs per player and effort required not so balanced as it sounds and that’s just Tavern 1 – LETS NOT FORGET THAT.

Now consider the favour… small guilds can struggle here … getting small amounts once per week is a little easier all round now imo, but getting more than basic level favour is more difficult for smaller guilds in fact often creates map toxicity as other small guilds try to use the collective to their alliance maps treks to their own advantage.

Then of course there are more basic upgrades like anvil, merchant etc.. another 100g here, 100gold there… that’s now 60gold each for each member of Guild B and they haven’t even build tavern yet, let alone a mine to be able to get Auri

So yeah, If you think its a real trial to organise a much larger guild to farm the same requirements as a small guild, then you simply don’t have a hang on logic and basic maths.. no matter how organised or how much you enjoy farming, grinding, TP flipping etc.. the effort levels are completely out of balance..

Simple solution allow small guilds to purchase smaller halls with less functionality on offer but with a view to upgrading to a larger size as they grow, if they choose to.

Fact is ANET either rushed this malarkey through without much in the way of thought or… they saw an opportunity to use a proportion of their player base in the shape of larger guilds to entice the rest to spend more time in game grinding or SPEND REAL MONEY—>> CONVERT TO GOLD —>> then take great pleasure in sitting back watching them waste gold buying piles of sand, flax seeds and other items from the TP which would otherwise take small guilds a lot longer or considerably more effort per player to obtain in the quantities required through normal game play

Of course this all runs with its own risk… how long will some players, especially new players stick around knowing that all this hype simply boils down to grinding their lives away just to chase that carrot on the stick, which as soon as they finally get there (if ever), something else comes in to expand upon it again and starts the cycle off once more – -

And to be honest… We are also really really really proud on what we can achieve with just the two of us ghehehe!

2 of you.. I am stick my neck out and say.. ANET like you lots cos that credit card burns HoT constantly to buy gems and convert to gold to buy all the glass, flax etc etc to get that 2 man guild up to par with that 500 man guild…. you can spend you whole life grinding sand and seeds as well as other stuff if you like.. many others want to actually play all facets of the game and still be able to achieve things, but experience suggests you weren’t / aren’t able to get all those upgrades quite as easily as you like to make out without credit card assistance – and if that’s your thing then all power to you, gz on ya achievements.

We buy €50,- gems a year. As a player/customer in this game, imo we all own this a little bit to Arenanet, (that’s what keeps this game running for you too) but that’s an other discussion. And for the rest, I speed-cleared dungeons and farm the TP a little while my wife is making gold with farming and crafting. I think you are just jealous lol… But again like I said, until now we did not spend a lot of gold on guild hall upgrades. For example: Yes, my wife farmed all the flax and the sand etc to make stuff like mugs and kegs. You can do that too, we are not special…

Thanks for posting this FOX…. I have a small guild with just me and my husband. I had heard how hard it is to get guild halls and that you need a big guild and so I thought the task would be impossible for our little guild. My hubby has hot, I have yet to get it (possibly christmas)… It is good to know that with some work it is possible for a small guild of 2 people to be able to get a guild hall… gives me something to look forward to and something to aim for when I get the expansion

I wish you the very best! Well some people do have a point here. A 500 man guild will have all the things way faster and easier. But like I said before, it is also very doable with just 2 persons, we can guarantee you that! Good luck!

Lol.. jealous – jealous of what, my guild already have a hall, tavern, mine… so wrong answer!
As for owing ANET – wrong again… they set their business model, they charge what they feel is appropriate for the content and for what they plan for future content – you think the price you pay is just for what you get in the box, please have a small modicum of understanding and not blurt rubbish out.
As for feeling special.. sorry wrong there I am just a normal player running a small guild of long term friends who rarely have the need to buy stuff from the TP (mainly sell) or farm heavily – we are in no rush to have it all and probably don’t need it all, but then again we don’t feel the need to come to a forum to rubbish everyone else’s opinion just so you can have your “look at me I am a special snowflake” moment.
As for only one of you farming all the necessaries I smell something bad right there otherwise you just don’t sleep – but as I say all power to you however you play the game, that’s your prerogative.
Our two guilds are merely a micro fragment in a larger pool of players /guilds – but my opinion is guild halls have been rushed through without proper diligence to what was actually wanted and what or how the mechanics around them were supposed to work across the game – as long as the expansion could deliver on something it promised “we have guild halls”

OP is absolutely right. If you lack teamwork, organization and the skill necessary to take your hall, examine yourself. You are begging for a handout to achieve the reward people better organized, with higher priorities on teamwork and with more dedicated goal focused members have earned.

If you find yourself begging and pleading for a change to a system that rewards small guilds for hard work, realize you are not in a capable guild. Work with your small guild to achieve your goals. If you are consistently failing, making it easier for you now will only be hurting your development as a guild and as a gamer.

Will you be asking for everything along our path in GW2 be made easier and more attainable because you can’t do it? Or does this pandering end here by letting the unaccomplished gain access to a useless unupgraded hall?

Way to go .. you completely missed the point by a country mile.

It has nothing to do with organisation and teamwork.. if a 2 man guild like the OP’s lacked that then yeah.. that would be bad news for the guild.
It’s about retaining the effort but ensuring that effort/cost is spread equally throughout the guild spectrum… getting a guild hall is nothing more than a pug LFG… upgrading it is something quite different… 500 players collecting for example sand and seeds is nothing in comparison to what small guilds have to go through because someone didn’t bother to look into the mechanics of it all very well, in fact I would say it’s actually a pretty lazy content implementation with no thought other than “we now have guild halls”

No it should not be stopped being discussed.. maybe discussed in one thread.. but that’s what ANET have forum mods for to merge threads when necessary.

All points raised whether for or against the subject have some form of input to the topic, why because people have differing play habits, time, likes and dislikes and what was pushed out only really suited larger guilds where the individual effort and costs become negligiable.
What I saw many of the other posts putting out was a distincvt dislike to the cost and efforts required by differing small guild sizes in order to not become locked out of new content they have paid a high expac price for.
Sure Rome wasn’t buolt in a day comes to mind.. but for larger guilds actually it is. Not everyone wants to be part of a fortune 500 guild and have a variety of reasons for that – to that end many MMO’s I have played which incorporate such things as guild halls, player housing etc do it in a fashion that is scaled based on the size and needs.

If you want a big house then the costs/efforts to get it should carry the same weighting as it does for smaller guilds requirements.
That said if your guild is micro small, small, medium etc then the guild hall only carries a certain amount of upgrades based on that sized constraint.. if your guild then expands then additional upgrade costs have to be applied… what we have now is one size for all and a set cost.. but hugely differing levels of effort for it.

I second the above suggestion to add a questionnaire into the money transfer.
Would give you some good data mining as well as put people off illegal money transfers.

The “gold buyers aren’t bad people” analogy doesn’t work for me. Let them play by the same rules as the rest of us, don’t make excuses for them. They KNOW they are buying botted or stolen gold / gear. Ban them the same as gold sellers.

Except that suggestion is so easily abusable… and in fact ANET kinda already hinted at such an abuse.. the RMT and the buyers have by now formed relationships to the point they are “friends” for all intense and purposes.
This kind of questionnaire will be meaningless.

For one it’s anets decision not yours, they can give mercy as they want. Second i find their autoban to aggressive, i’m not breaking Tos in anyway but could be auto banned due to sharing ip or pc. And last referring to a post for readability is nice, but filling up the thread is not.

Of course its ANETs decision.. no one here is arguing that… but if they are applying one set of rules to one and not the other then it creates a double standards approach to their ToS.. that right there is a bad policy because no one really knows what’s right and wrong anymore.
As for you living in fear of a ban because you play on the same ip as other accounts in your house.. do you realise how many people could actually be on your ip.. look it up you might be surprised.
That said if any of those accounts are doing something that is considered against the ToS then ANET would have a reason to look a little deeper for sure… the case that has been highlighted here was not that cut and dry.. and ANET aren’t going to elaborate too deeply for obvious reasons.
I think you might be worrying for no reason, unless you maybe think you have a more sinister reason for worrying, if so then your in the lap of the gods.

@bloodstealer next time y refer to a big post just give the link and did you read what i’ve written, this is just one case, all is not black white

I refer to the post rather than a link so its clear who I am responding to… your post on the other hand can be read to mean your responding to something I had previously responded to you on… which I haven’t.

If I wanted to throw out a general comment in the thread I will simply post without quote.. see that’s the purpose of having that button there in the first place.

As for all is not black and white… I didn’t say it was, but what is black and white is the account sharing is against the ToS and can open up a can of worms, which it has already.

What I have said is that if ANET are going to play soft with one player and unban them even when a violation has been admitted and was the root cause of issues across other accounts… then they should be taking the same approach to anyone else that has seen their accounts banned for the same reasons, therefore negating the need for such violations to be included in their ToS.

That being said, whether Anet should make allowances for such cases is up for debate, but doing it for one, while not doing it for another (assuming the situation is the same) is a poor way to go about things. However, that all hinges on the ‘truth’ which we aren’t privy to. That’s why I don’t understand why there are so many in this thread ‘up in arms’.

As posted in my post above (which also shows how we are agreeing to ToS based on our own use not anyone else’s) and according to the Forum Code of Conduct

• Do not debate Customer Support decisions or actions. Threads or posts designed to announce, appeal, or contest your own or another player’s suspension or account termination—be it forum or game account—will be removed without notice.

So no the issue/s are not up for debate amongst ourselves and in itself is a punishable breakage to the rules that were accepted by users when using the forums and/or in game chat, etc. So each person that has went on in this thread (with more than just a simple statement of displeasure) about how the reinstatements are the wrong choice should then also have the proper rule enforcement placed upon them. Right?

I mean fair is fair. If one is to have the attitude that something regardless of severity is a violation then they should also face a punishment, because you know rules can’t be allowed to be broke under any circumstance.

The problem here is that some have taken to the extreme about things in this thread and leave a very toxic impression and stain on others in the community.

It isn’t really that hard to understand how/why they may determine different outcomes. Whether we agree with them or not.

It can be as simple as Player A was dumb enough to think that he was going to lie and hide what would be found in logs, etc upon deeper investigation where as Player B owned up in full up front for what actually happened and upon that deeper investigation they could see that while yes he may have shared that account the stuff that was done wrong was from an IP states away from his locale.

Seeing as how he had already suffered an extended ban they may have felt that the sharing which was broke on his part was a minor infraction that my have just warranted a temp suspension for a first time offense. In the end time was served.

Nothing in the ToS (outside of severe infractions) says that the only punishment is account termination, but plenty states that it is at THEIR DISCRETION not ours.

The constant bickering of those who feel an “Iron Fist” approach is needed for every case is unacceptable and not even in their right to expect or demand, and for good reason as unintentional mistakes by an entity that means well do in fact happen.

The attitude here sets a toxic stage for those who really did/do have issues where they were/are caught up by the detection system and never did anything wrong.

Over the years I have seen where many of them were also chewed alive by same minded people as in this thread, and in quite a few the players affected as an unrelated group were all cleared as it was not their fault. In fact in one instance it was a mistake in coding for a jumping puzzle that was causing players to be flagged wrongly.

Posting alone does not equal incrimination. So those here that want to continue with the guilty at all costs mindset need to stop.

Seriously though ArenaNet has allowed this to go on way to long. Its toxic and needs to be ended.

ANET posted this thread and in doing opened it up for discussion… if they didn’t want it discussed they had no need to post about it… no one is forcing you to read it or make comment in it so you can so either ignore the thread or deal with it.
Its actually a pretty interesting thread and shows how serious ANET have been / are being in policing their own ToS.. make of it what you wish – I have my opinions others have theirs… that how it works, you don’t have to agree or disagree and you don’t have to like or dislike what you read… such is life.

So you don’t see Account sharing as a much more serious violation, one that warrants only a few days time out in the naughty corner along with players that have maybe abused the LFG policy or spammed chat .. cmon lets not silly..

Personally I don’t see account sharing is ever ‘bad’, ever.

A single account can only be played once at a time so it matters not at all who’s playing it at any point in time IMO.

Frankly I’ve always viewed the ban on sharing by treadtional sub-based MMOs as nothing more than corporate greed!

For instance, in WOW you pay for 24 hour access and if you use 24 hour access Blizzard has nothing to gripe about, so they have nothing to gripe about if two people share it ONE AT A TIME: same goes for Trion, Square Enix, Turbine, Sony, etc. etc. etc.

With B2P and F2P games the devs’ bleats about sharing have even less credibility than that to me.

Gees.. are you for real.

What difference does playing the account 1 at a time make.. once the account info is shared anything can happen on either account.. as was the case with Tyu.. that’s how ANET detected those 9 accounts because someone who has access to his account was being “less honest” with their gaming habits and in doing so affected others in the process …. but the account share was the root of the issue… he got lucky with lenience that’s all.

So like I said, if its ok for one to do it and plead, whine, bleat and beg for forgiveness then the same should be granted to anyone else found to have account shared.. in fact just remove it from the ToS completely and lighten the work load.

An issue arose on Wednesday that caused some players’ Heart of Thorns map exploration to disappear. If your account was one of those that had the map exploration issue, it was temporarily disabled in order to correct the issue. The correction has been made to all impacted accounts, and those involved will find a nice little something in your in-game mail as a gift to thank you for your understanding. We’re sorry for any distress that the time-out caused — the team worked as quickly as they could to rectify the matter.

If your account has been blocked, suspended, or terminated for a reason other than the correction of the map exploration bug, please feel free to contact Customer Support and they will assist you.

What about those players, like myself that have not been credited with a variety of map completions including Verdant Brink.. I thought there were reward items that could in turn block progress – what is happening about this bug???

I used to buy keys waaay back in the day, but I stopped after my first few purchases never broke anywhere close to even with anything of any value… The only attractive thing they have going forthe boxes is the weapons scraps. But even that can be offset by grinding out a few hundred gold and buying what you want, vs buying the same amount of gems to buy keys..so….

185 gold can buy a skin, or you can open chests and get like half of a ticket.

And right there you found the answer to your own pain….
If you can’t take the hit then don’t gamble, simple as that really.

BLC guarantee you always get something… just might not be what you wanted, but there was never a guarantee you would.

If ANET are not going to perma close accounts that having knowingly been shared / compromised, but instead decide to reinstate it then at the very least the account should be rolled back to the point which their data logs identify it… just like they do if your account becomes hijacked and you report it stolen to them.

But there is a difference between the two cases. With Tyu the cheat software was never used on his account.

And apart from just his word, we have proof of this … how?

Well he did get his account back.

You missed the point.. he got his account back but its was sharing his account that violated the ToS and led to further violations across other accounts, whether or not the cheat was used on his own account. Therefore if they gave his account back and unbanned him then there is simply no point in having Account Sharing deemed as a violation of the ToS in the first place and anyo other player hit with a ban for it should now be unbanned… the root cause was the account share, the secondary effect was the cheat being used or his account info being used by another player who was also abusing the ToS.. both are serious offences.
This new plea for having their account reinstated has the same issues.. the person in question denies using anything that is deemed a cheat…. but having shared his/hers account info to someone else has allowed the other person to log into the account via another ip and use a third party cheat thus implicating both… why is this person not being responded to in the same way?.. double standard much.

Or they deemed the however many days tyu was already banned for as a punishment for a first time offense and he’s been told if he gets caught account sharing again, the punishment will be more severe.

Not every TOS violation has to be met with a permanent ban on the first offense.

Every situation is different and it’s up to ANet to decide what punishment fits the crime.

So you don’t see Account sharing as a much more serious violation, one that warrants only a few days time out in the naughty corner along with players that have maybe abused the LFG policy or spammed chat .. cmon lets not silly.
If something as serious as Account Sharing and its repercussions that it enables is not worthy of immediate perma action then there really is no point in having it in their ToS because its obvious they don’t then take such things seriously.
That is actually the point I was making however .. the other poster now pleading for their accounts back should, in the interests of standardising of actions.. have their accounts unbanned and allowed immediate access to the game again.

Not necessarily. Depends on how many times the account was shared and what was done during that sharing. The other person asking for account back after sharing it may have had it shared a lot more than tyu. Each situation is different and what is decided for one instance is not necessarily the same for another instance.

It has nothing to do with how many times it was shared.. you only have to share it once and it opens up the opportunity for other violations to occur and they did occur… why do you think pretty much every account holder for pretty much anything in every walk of life is specifically told – DO NOT SHARE YOUR ACCOUNT INFO WITH ANYONE!
Sorry but I disagree.. this kind of violation requires immediate permanent actions on the account to protect both the game and actually the player… if that account is compromised in anyway, knowingly or not, that account should be closed then if the player is then proven innocent i.e (account hacked) then maybe a stay of execution is granted but proving they did it without knowledge would be hard at best.

However ANET in their infinite wisdom saw fit to let Tyu off and allowed immediate access back into game, even though the violation of the ToS , which led to other violations occurring was openly admitted with a pile of excuses to try and justify his actions. So he dodged a bullet … therefore others who had accounts closed for the same reasons should now also be shown the same leniency and the ToS revised to say it’s ok to Account Share at their own risk.

I hope you can understand I forgot about such silly thing like account sharing is forbidden after over 3 years of having this account and a 1,5 to 2 years of a break from this game. We are all human, we make mistakes. I did already make a mistake by sharing my account and now I got also punished by a permanent ban. Why don’t I get a chance to prove myself I am not wrong?

I understand, but your attitude calling it a ‘silly thing’ doesn’t help the case. There is a reason for it and it’s what could happen when you share. You agreed to it to the terms.
So you can continue to go through support to get a review. But don’t be surprised when posting access is removed also.

Good luck with your efforts.

Absolutely right, account sharing is bad news and not just for the person sharing the account.. it opens up a whole can of worms potentially.. but saying that, why should this poster be treated differently to that of Tyu who was also placed into a perma ban for suspect activities on his and others accounts that were shared…
Sure, finding that his account was not at fault for the third party activity but the account sharing was overlooked and his account reinstated… but that was the root of the issue in the first place.. 9 accounts were affected by these actions but the original violation, which lead to it all mysteriously gets overlooked and goes unpunished. and his account reinstated.
Seems to me that ANET are a whizz at setting double standards.
Bottom line if account sharing is a violation then it should be acted upon .. otherwise all these others issues on accounts are able to coexist with this behaviour. If its now not deemed to be a violation then remove it from the ToS and be done with it.

Small Guilds, stop complaining about GHls

I get it Guild Halls are ridiculously expensive and almost impossible for small guilds to obtain and upgrade.

That was the point from the very start. People knew it was gonna be expensive so why all the complaining?

Guild halls are suppose to be meant mainly for large guilds. Why? Incentive.
Let’s be honest in a large guild, if a person gets kicked not many people are gonna care. If its a higher up or an officer there may be some drama but people get over it. If its someone of the lower ranks the people kicking and many of the other members wouldn’t really care. This is the downside of a large guild who don’t have the emotional/personal incentive of a small guild.

Smaller guilds are a tightly knit unit that have grown strong bonds as they have grown attached to the other members as there only a few so its easy to know everyone and be friends with them. And you could have a fully upgraded guild too if you pulled enough money which was not hard to earn pre-HoT. So why join a large guild when you can be a small guild with your close friends? Benefits from the large guilds.

Large Guilds have numbers and vast amount of resources to back up their large numbers/presence. With the old guild system the incentive of repping and earning influence for large guilds meant 24 hour buffs like exp, karma, harvesting, wvw upgrades, etc. But even small guilds could accomplish this feat pretty easily if they earned enough and farmed things and did events together which they most likely did as they would do everything together.

With the new guild system the only way to keep members from constantly leaving (or at least to constantly recruit to fill those that left) is the guild hall and its various upgrades. So of course large guild will get those upgrades and flesh out their guild hall easier and faster than the small guilds.

If you really want a fully upgraded guild hall and those buffs and stuff, merge into a big guild. If you don’t like them or how they conduct things, leave. Otherwise don’t complain about a system that was clearly intended from the very beginning to benefit to large guilds hold their communities together. Guild Halls are suppose to represent the effort of hundreds of players and their dedication to the guild as a whole.

tl;dr GH meant for large guilds not for small guilds

clueless… thoughtless… meaningless tosh!
All I got to say about this post. nothing to see here, move along!

Hey guys. I’m looking at these but they take a lot of time. I know it’s not what you want to hear but I’ll get to your case as soon as I can.

A lot of these ‘false positives’ are not false – they’re due to account sharing. Account sharing is bad. It makes you look guilty of things someone else did.

If you are innocent; you will play again. I’ll work all weekend if I have to.

Why should you need to look further than account sharing…

Still, I guess you can break the ToS and take your chances on whether there will be consequences. /shrug

Exactly.

Just like putting out policy stickies warning players of what is and isn’t allowed then sending emails out to players who see said violations and report it, only to say.. “We are not penalising for those violations actually”
So tbh I have no idea anymore what their ToS actually are or why they even bother having them them in place.

No I admit I got bored reading all the pleading going on and quit reading after for st few pages, but something didn’t sit well.

So yes gratz to Tyu for getting the accounts back, however it does show that ANET still seem to lack the fortitude to uphold their ToS as account sharing is a direct violation for these very reasons.. Tyu got lucky with some good will from ANET but bottom line both the account holders in question were breaking the ToS, just one of them broke it further by using third party software and in doing so got both the accounts flagged.

As to whether all of a players accounts should be banned when violations are found to of occurred on one or more of them… hmmm I can see the good and the bad in both answers.. but for now good luck Tyu and good luck ANET cos your goodwill is going to open up a whole new list of accounts to be re-reviewed in light of this.

I am sure you’ll agree that false positives happen EVERY time you do ban waves no matter how much you try to check.

Cheating on 2 of your 9 accounts got all 9 of them banned.

9 accs……. I fail to see any real reason any normal player would need more than 1 account. I also don’t see the reason of multi-boxing, anybody doing that cant have a honest reason for doing so….. unless they are like some kind of super-nerd…. even still…..
Kuddos GW2 team.

I remember at launch all the dang bots running around stealing all the nodes from underground. That was annoying. Probably unrelated but i’m sure they were multiboxers.

I am guessing either dungeon boxing possibly using certain exploits along the way or nodding porting , maybe even gold flushing.. but we will never know unless ANET tell us (never gunna happen) or the player owns up (very unlikely.. even though they already admitted breaking the ToS)

IMO.. no smoke without fire and no matter how many desperate pleas and statements of “loosing my sleep, not eating my diner” ANET are pretty sure they have done all the necessary checks and have all the background info they required in order to uphold their ToS.
Guess players looking to multi-box, account share, buy hax, gold sell etc etc.. better make sure they don’t veer outside the ToS in future cos BIG BRUVVER is watching.

Apologies.. should of posted this here not in the main sticky …

Downloaded 64Bit client this afternoon and have been seeing some nice increases in FPS, without stuttering and load times reduction for sure.. but at the expense of having massive screen colour blooms randomly shooting out at me.. making it pretty much unplayable at times (and getting more frequent).

My take is that its to do with camera and lighting cos it hits from certain angles when moving and then fills with surrounding colours and particle effects.

Never had any issues except occasional crashing sometimes (had a really bad couple of weeks after the September patch but that seems to off been patched out)

System – Desktop
i7 – 3770k
Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. SP1
ASUS P8Z77-VPro M/B
16GB Ripjaw DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GTX550Ti GPU
GW2 runs off dedicated Mushkin 256GB SSD

Getting a solid 60FPS pretty much everywhere now with VSYNC ON (drops to 40 ish in mass warfare situations, that’s a nice 15-20FPS gain from previous).
Most settings set to medium or High.. I don’t use refection’s or shadows/shaders anyways but pretty much all other options are on so no issues with FPS and no stuttering except when the screen bloom erupts. – Note I have tried turning everything right down and right up .. but same thing happens… had it a lot in Fractals and especially Verdant Brink.

Guess it’s back to downloading the 32bit client again – - 3 more hours of zzzzzz

Gods mate you were suppose to download the 64-bit client, a under 30 MB file and place it in your Guild Wars 2 folder along side the 32-bit client. That’s it. Run either, no muss or fuss and no stupidly long downloads.

Embarrassing? You’re assuming the QA all played Guild Wars 1 and were all into lore. I’ve seen worse typos in top best sellers. Entire wrong names used. It happens. This is a pretty small molehill even for this community to turn into a mountain. lol

LMAO .. WHAT!

Yes its QA fail 101.. whether they played GW1 or not.. the game lore is supposed to be consistant at the very least.. therefore when implementing something that is hinged around lore it should of been QA’ed accordingly – stop making up this stuff please.

- Excuse me Ferrari QA 101 .. this side panel is meant to be on a Fiat Panda!
- Oh sorry customer.. I never worked on Fiat Panda’s before
- Oh that’s ok pretty minor molehill, I’ll buy it anyway…

It’s a single word from a single NPC. I’ve been involved with major editing projects where work goes through half a dozen editors and stuff still gets through. Deal with it.

Lols… clueless gem as ever.
You seem to think making errors and such are perfectly fine… you wouldn’t last 5miniutes in my business for sure with that kind of attitude.

PILOT A – Hey Maverick how do I adjust these darn seats back, my legs are getting cramped?
PILOT B – Hmm… the manual says lean forward and press the big RED button
PILOT A – Ahh great , thanks…. whooooosh !!!
PILOT B – Goooossssee !!! – godkitten it frigging editors (strikes line through RED and scribbles in BLUE)… maybe I should let the whole squadron know – ya think?

Errors are not perfectly fine. Errors are perfectly human. With your attitude you wouldn’t last a minute in my business. See how easy that is.

A single word in a single NPC’s dialogue is only a big deal if you’re trying to make a big deal about it. Which you apparently are.

If I wasn’t used to reading all your little gems of wisdom that you have imparted over the last few years, I would of likely said you must be new around here
This smallest human error can be the difference between life or death.. luckily for us this is just a game where consequence is merely face palming and cheak slapping… ..your RL admissions of course could prove to be a whole different story.

Yes its a flaw in ANETS QA surrounding an NPC and game Lore.. no biggy, but its always fun seeing you jump in with both feet to share your little gems with us, then spend the next half dozen post defending and backpeddling whilst throwing in the odd defensive slur our way.. next plz

Why would you even want a Hall when your alone???
The idea of adding guild halls is to have a … call it a Friends camp to make it so that U n guildies can organize stuff (Like guild missions)! Thats what the intention is IMO and NOT a home. I just would find it dumb to have a Hall and be alone in it LOL

Huh.. how does having a guild hall make it that you and guildies can organise stuff… or were you missing that ability previously and felt you needed walls?

Guild Halls are an AFK place, somewhere to hang, somewhere to decorate and its actually another form of levelling.. guild levelling except you go outside of the guild hall in order to accumulate mats, gold, etc in order to come back and upgrade it.. ie its merely a content filler aimed at providing the guild with a distraction and something else to do.
But having one or not doesn’t mean you can or can’t organise stuff.. that facility has always been there.. this is just a little piece of your guilds surroundings in which to do it away from other larger map zones like LA or DR.
