Nothing wrong with soloing a path.
Using an exploit of the game mechanics to solo a path is questionable, but I agree that it’s Anet’s fault you are able to do so (that will NOT keep you from getting banned if Anet decides what you are doing IS an official “exploit”).
Charging someone to tag along while you solo the path via said exploit is, at the very least, very questionable.
Wanting Anet to punish a “rider” that ruined your plan to “sell” your exploit dungeon run is laughable.
Thinking Anet will put something in place so this practice is a legitimate way to make gold is simply delusional.

Side tip…..
If you are working on getting 500 crafting, note that you can discover T5 RARES (cost karma for the recipes) that cost NO ECTOS to craft but generate ECTOS when you salvage them…..
Not directly related and it’s a drop in the bucket for both 400-500 crating XP (they can gain you about 5 levels somewhere) and the Ectos needed to get to 300% MF, but just a little tidbit I picked up leveling my crafting to 500.
Mesmers definitely have a power / killing slump around the level you are at, OP.
It will get better, but you have to “suffer” thru it. You will start getting better when your Trait points start rolling in around 66. Many of the Mesmer’s best traits are Grandmaaster and you won’t get access to those until 80 (now).
I must say, the Trait changes hit the Mesmer the hardest.

Just to brag (or maybe not?) a bit, Jim’s my son-in-law….
We’ve spoken at length about this issue and the OP is taking Jim’s concerns a bit out of context here.
Yes, it is a troubling trend that all the big publishers have adopted as the “norm” (and customer have allowed to become “accepted” but continuing to BUY it). However, Anet’s motivations and “rewards” for gravitating toward this method are simply not there.
If you want to call Anet’s “non-content” “lazy Development”, you have that right, but I do not see the correlation between what this feature pack offers and what Jim Sterling rails against…..
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Players are leaving now since they are sick of the same content after the first tumultuous 2 years.
How would your opinion change and those “leaving players” flock back if an expansion was released? Anet has a long term goal here and I think it certainly takes into calculated consideration that players will leave and come back if properly motivated by new content.
I’ve quit playing for several months multiple times since release….being able to do so and come back into the game with minimal disruption is one of the advantages of the no subscription fee model.
The Wildstar post actually claims that MEGASERVER increases their server capacity? I fail to see how that can even be twisted into a remotely true statement….
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
A veteran player complaining about this type of change is just sad….there are plenty of other things you can stir up to whine about.
What percentage of new and casual players do YOU think would post here on a regular basis?
So, this question (to this group of non-casual players) is not going to garner any useful data….

Just wanted to add multiple complaints of the servers not being fast enough is posted whenever any update comes out…. (I’m easily amused by such things).
Expecting the launcher to limit the download speed is just ludicrous…..sorry to be so blunt. Use your router to limit bandwidth to the specific system if it’s such a problem for you.
You would be best served by going back to BEST BUY and throwing the appropriate level of “tantrum” to obtain a new code. Retail outlets are notorious for “allowing” employees to steal codes like this and it will only be stopped if consumers complain about being taken advantage of (and the employees and or complicit managers are fired).
Keep in mind that Anet has every right to NOT help you (tho they certainly might) as retail theft of a code is the retail store’s responsibility.
He must be “one of the paying customers”.
Your implication that Support prioritizes assistance based on gem purchases is one of the better “tin foil hat” conspiracy theories I’ve heard around here….Kudos (see below for your official prize)!
@OP: It’s nice to see someone thanking a company for good support, but note that getting your account rolled back as fast as possible should NOT be your priority after getting it hacked. Understanding HOW you were hacked and SECURING everything should be more important.
Are you 100% sure your email and computer are secure? If not, expect another hacking rather soon…..(and Support will NOT roll it back again).
I’ve done some short research on how the colors get assigned and have found LOTS of players posting “facts” but no official word or links to official word about this issue.
It is apparent, however that GREEN obviously is weighted to get the best WvW server from what can be selected from for the match up (however that is being determined).
The problem is that Green is the color given to the team that has won the previous week in WvW. ……
I was under the impression the rotation of colors was random….if the above is true (and I’m not saying it isn’t), then this is the logical reason….the most often winning WvW teams are always combined into the EotM Green team(s).
EDIT: How can GREEN assigned to last week winner be true. What if 3 teams that won last week are matched up….or even 2 teams that won? I guess I can see some sort of priority happening during WvW season, but during off-season I thought it was purely random what color you Server was assigned.
Think of it this way. What color are you on the WvW scoreboard this week? Thats what color you will be in EotM for the week. Apply that to everyone else. I believe the wiki also explains this.
Wha??
How does this apply to my question of HOW what color you be NEXT WEEK is determined? I know how the current color works and how EotM groups all like colors together during that week. Again, How is what color you will be NEXT week determined? Does your overall ranking factor into it? Does your previous match results factor in? Note that the wiki is written by PLAYERS not Anet so any information on this issue can only be FACTUAL if an Anet Dev comments about it (and even those have been known to be mistaken as Devs ARE human).
Ok. I see people are still posting about EotM in the WvW forums. Wrong area. PvE is in another location.
That said, green definitely has the advantage. It is part of the reason that it should never count for anything important.
Thread was moved by Mods….complain to them.

I don’t think the Mac Client will ever be “out of Beta” and I’m nearly SURE Anet will never support OpenGL for it’s engine.
Your assumption that every Ranger that uses a bow is the typical “Bearbow” is not a fact, but your slanted opinion…. Yes, the game can do without another Bearbow, but not every Ranger plays like that.
Guardians do have a few ranged weapons but are considered melee characters,
There are entire guilds set up to get this Achievement……
I can’t be the only one getting sick and tired of these QQ threads.
Amen, Brutha!

I’m a veteran player and I ask that the OP NOT ask questions or make comments on my behalf…..thank you.
That feels like an issue of semantics. People are just as free to ignore calls for boycotts as they are to ignore warnings and the end result is functionally identical: either people agree with the warning/boycott and don’t buy the SFSoM or they don’t agree and do buy it.
Of course, I’m operating on the assumption that when you’re warning someone that a particular item is a ripoff, you’re also implying they shouldn’t buy it.
If you want to twist the meaning of the word and pish-posh it as, “semantics”, that’s your prerogative, but even slightly misusing a word corrupts it’s true meaning. I have no doubt the OPs original use of the word is a prime example….
Dont’ Buy =/= Boycott (all I’m saying).

If you really want the Celestial gear, why settle for exotic? Just asking I’m not trying to jerk your chain or anything.
Irrelevant question.
Ok I just wondered
His point is you STILL have to generate the Celestial Inscriptions / Insignia requiring the Charged Quartz to get the Ascended Celestial gear. No difference in the time gate for Exotic or Ascended crafting…..
….. The adren nerf is somewhat useless since you already lose adren when not in combat (though slowly) and for PvE it won’t affect at all since you’re always stuck in combat anyway. …..
I think you are badly mistaken about how much effect this will have. I can keep a constant 15% damage on my Warrior in just about ANY zone right now and from the videos I’ve seen your Adrenaline will completely drain in about 15 sec out of combat with the patch (it takes about 30 sec to START draining now). It will basically not allow you to abuse the Bezerker’s Power trait (XI STR) like you can now.
On the other hand, SHOULD I be able to keep a constant 15% damage boost on any character in the game? No. It’s a good nerf to hinder a minor exploit.
Signet of Rage is also generally considered overpowered right now, so that nerf is needed as well.
While it’s impossible to say before the change (so it can be fully tested) all the Warrior nerfs appear to be reasonable ones. Frankly the Warrior has a number of over powered capabilities right now but Warrior will still be one of the strongest (and survivable) character classes in the game even after the Feature Pack changes.
The Warrior class will certainly not be “ruined” by these changes (if they all work the way they have been described).
The FGS change is simply plugging an exploit hole that was not the skills intention.

Read the sticky threads at the top of this forum….ALL of them.
Been playing since Beta and learned a number of things from them.
Solo – Ranger
Group – Guardian
No reason not to play both.
’nuff said.
Not unless you have to buy Mystic Forge stones for Mystic Kits (or use all your Forge Stones for other things). Even then, you will be wasting money rather than just buying Master Kits at the vendor…..but you won’t have to worry about buying the kits.
From the analysis I have seen (done by MULTIPLE players on the crafting forums). There is NO WAY you will recoup your investment money by selling the Cystaline Dust from Salvaging Ectos (you can come close and MAY pull it off if you are VERY luck in your salvages). No doubt Salvaging Ectos for Dust & Luck is the least expensive way to boost your MF %, but stating that you can make money at the same time is not a given and the process will end up costing you gold in the long run.
Again, it’s a great way to boost MF , but it’s not going to generate profit 80 of the time (market fluctuations in Ectos / Dust not withstanding).
If you have the storage, you may want to hold onto pieces with very expensive runes just in case Anet ever provide an economical way to get them off (do NOT hold your breath as they have not even acknowledged this as an “issue” since it became one when transmutations were removed 4 months ago).
GW 1 is still going …. will be 10 years old in April 2015.
GW 2 has a longer potential life span, IMO. This base question is the root of why expansions are NOT being talked about by Anet….yet.
The only way to cancel a target call is to call another one…..(that I’m aware of). It has been requested numerous times that repeating the call on a target turn it off, but I am unaware of any Dev feedback on the issue.
This is not so much a Support issue as a “feature” bug, so this may be better addressed in the BUG forum.
The process of turning ON and OFF mobile authentication needs to be reviewed (IMO). This SHOULD be an iron clad method to prevent account hacks, but the fact that it can be rather easily bypassed (via identity theft) thru Support makes it a simply another step hackers need to take to compromise an account.
Also, in the OPs situation, WHY cannot the account be flagged or otherwise noted that NO changes should be made to the account based on the original purchase information if it is KNOWN that this information is compromised? Those situations would seem to require some special handling if for nothing more than continued protection of the account AND simply wasting both Support and Player’s time.
Just my 2 coppers…..ask them to verify that the account was compromised with dates and times. This often makes CS realize you were NOT involved in the gold selling (it sounds as if the Support agent thinks you were in control of the account during that time).
On the first account, use that ticket to ask them to roll back the account to an earlier date (before the account was compromised).
I don’t dislike the current situation except there is no method to obtain better ones with some variation in stats. My main quesiton is this:
We have tons of Exotic / Ascended Backpieces that many allow for a CHOICE of stats (and the choice can be altered AGAIN when infused). Why do we need crafted backpieces when end game variety in Aqua-breathers are what we are sorely lacking?
I get that the cosmetic BLING in this game rules all, but it seems this feature pack is adding crafting items that are not needed while we still have no way to get an Exotic breather…..just saying.
Maybe, but after mining several nodes I noticed I did not get any jewels at all, while got sprockets. Using a regular pick I usually get 1,2 jewels per 2 nodes but now – nothing. Just sprockets.
Now that you mention it…..hmmm. I just bought another one of these and will be doing some heavy gathering this weekend. I’ll report back on what I find in terms of this possible issue.
Theory disproved:
I get the math behind the assumption that it’s a bad investment, but Boycott it? How is it’s use by anyone harming your GW life / play style?
Looking at the title and I only get the impression that the OP is saying to boycott the SFSoM, not the entire store, which is literally just not to buy that one item – something anyone with a basic grasp of mathematics (and isn’t half-asleep from a long day at work, inebriated, or otherwise not operating at their full mental capacity) would be doing anyway. Nothing particularly wrong with that.
There is a difference between warning someone of an economic downside to buying something and a “BOYCOTT”.

I have 2 and a half stacks of unopened chests in storage. …….
You should go check out the current BL chest prices on the TP…..never been higher.
If you are so sure you can never open them all, you can at least make some gold with them.
My theory on this is that we will GET an expansion when it becomes economically feasible for Anet…..(as in NEEDED). Right now, they are making bank with the status quo and don’t really NEED to haul back in lots of older (quit) players. This is a long term proposal for them and stretching the lifespan of this game is the main goal.
When they DO need this boost in revenue and player base (new and returning), they will release an expansion. All the whining and moaning and pleading is not going to alter this long term goal and make them show their “ace in the hole” card before it is required to maximize the longevity of the game.

Unlike the Dye pack on the same image which all of the price packs are 40% off their original prices.Your own words kind of PROVE it’s a mistake….if they were out to rip EVERYONE off, why is one calculated correctly and another incorrectly? Your obsession to paint ANet as evil just makes them human (potentially incompetent).
Now the solution they put up IS incompetent…..whoever oked THAT as the solution needs a time out.
Its not a mistake, they just did the calculation a diferent way……
So assuming they MEANT for the 2 to be the same discount, isn’t ONE of them a mistake? They did one right and one wrong (again, assmuing that 30% off should mean the same thing for different items.). Where I come from if you do something wrong and it’s NOT intentional, you can safely call it a “mistake”.
Moot point as they “fixed” it in the most idiotic way possible….perma-egg-face.
There was a mile long thread on this less than 2 days ago….go post in it!
The only place where I see this possibly presenting a problem is for key runners that aren’t very good…..and seeing how that appears to being nixed by the Feature Pack, that appears to not be an issue, either.
I do recall being quite confused about this feature when I first encountered it during beta. The game does need some work at the introduction levels, but I’m not sure these changes are the answer (but at least they ARE trying something to improve the experience).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
I hate to admit that I have never thought about having one, but getting it account bound with multiple colors for 1/3 the final cost does seem a bit enticing…..
I think this one item will end up being the biggest gold sink since Ascended Armor…..
1000 keys? 20 minutes each key with no breaks would be 334 hours which would be 3 key runs per day for just under a year, spread over 2 years would be a key run or 2 a day. Possible certainly but I personally would shoot myself before I did it.
Apparently the guy did about 500 of them over a period of about 3 months then sat down and did the other 500 in a matter of about 10 days (what he reported), to open them all during the Perma Hair Style drop period. I took issue with the math too, but after figuring out what he claimed (sleeping about 3 or 4 hours and then taking breaks for about another 2 hours a day….basically 18 hours of key runs a day), what he claims is possible. He certainly had the loot in a video to prove he opened 1000 BL chests….
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
seems so…
so basically the game right now has a ridiculous amount of metal and leather over cloth.. they are making it so 5 out of 8 classes will see less cloth and more leather and metal… good job!
That is pretty much the EXACT opposite of what the Dev posted…..where do you get the data for your delusions?
Really? did the dev posted that 3x Med classes and 2x Heavy classes will get more cloth? or was it the other way around? I’m pretty sure he meant that.
Please, read again what the update is going to change. I think you are still lost here.
You reading between the lines and making assumptions leaning toward the negative side of this issue is NOT any kind of factual details. He said you would be getting about the same amount and you STILL insist you will be getting less (and appear to be wanting MORE?). Neither of us know what the final outcome will be, but I think I’ll wait until a try it a few days before I start a lynch mob and tell Devs how stupid their ideas are.
no opener system is good we need new kicking/party owner system
if i start the party then it should be up to me who stays and who goes, il admit if i want to LEAVE the party then they should get their own instance but if i get kicked then yes the dungeon should close.
Why? Your assumption that the starter of the party can’t be incompetent (or an childish prig) is quite arrogant (but the rest of your comments here make that an unsurprising statement). While you have made statements about not wanting the change, you have yet to point out how this change would be unfair to anyone. Please do so (and you being unable to control the party is not “unfair” to you).
My question is why are those with lots of Mystic kits even considering this item? Why concern yourself with it at all?
Reports from a variety of sources claim the Consortium is 0.25-0.5 sec faster from time of click to time of leaving node…..haven’t timed it myself. I think much of the Jack-in-the-box appearance as fast(er) is that the animation is so…..errr….annoying it stands out when you have 4 or 5 of them going off in the same area.
