Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
I would argue that the mayority of common t6 mats is being generated by salvaging, not gathering, so this change might have a bigger impact on you personally than the general player base. Right now it also seems that there are more people in Orr and Southsun that werent there before. They might not farm nodes but will pick up whatever they come across, so theyfarm more ori and ancient wood than before.
I agree with you analysis….I’m certainly doing other things than Farming Frostgorge nodes like I used to.
I’m wondering if they just need to match the nodes across all servers, but potentially randomize them (if possible) on a timer. Searching zones you don’t need or want to explore just for resource nodes is a chore (but I guess that should / could be considered part of playing the game).
yes it does. there will be lower demand for dyes, so they decreased the supply of dyes. unid dye price is pretty much guaranteed to go up to ~1g, but no one knows when that will happen, so it may be a very very long term investment.
Got over 300 in my bank. Waiting for when they finally get back up in price~
I’d say since almost all colors are only coppers (sans some very rare ones) and all are now available per account, your only potential buyers want Bifrost….good luck with that.
Just to add, while players that like playing healers feel they are being “forced” to do something they don’t want to (by not being allowed to play as a healer), EVERYONE else feels LIBERATED from the chore of being FORCED to have to LOOK FOR A HEALER every time they want to step out of a city.
This thing just won’t stay down…..(beats down RISEN HEAL THREAD)
Must be level because I don’t think any Boosters, banners or food effects increase event reward XP.
From wiki:
There are several ways to increase the amount of experience earned from kills.
(and the table under this lists all the XP increasing methods).Well, he did say “boss dies..”.. So……
But, I do agree, it probably is more likely that it was because of level.
He also said “GOLD MEDAL”….that only happens via EVENTS.
You can never put that armor (or armor skin) on any race but Asura (that’s what RACE: ASURA ONLY means).
I’m not sure that is going to be possible with the MegaServer system.
Even IF they could somehow identify each active server and give status, you cannot select what server you load into.

Did you report this via an in-game bug report (ESC > SUPPORT)? I would also suggest opening a support request (SERVICES (top right of page) > SUPPORT > SUBMIT A REQUEST (top right of the support page).
Ive been waiting over 24 hours and have yet to get a response from anet this is just awful support
Support sends out an automated reply soon after you submit a request. If you did not get it, there is possibly some communication issue with your email and support (check your junk mail). Also, if you are unsure HOW you were hacked, it is possible that your EMAIL was hacked and allowed the hacker to change your password and unless you secured your email account, they STILL have access to it and could delete any support emails quickly so you don’t see them.
Just stating a possibility as I have always gotten relatively speedy responses from support (but I would not consider a 24 hour wait “awful support”, either).

I’m almost positive that reports do nothing.
Opinions are like…..(bah…never mind).
If you mean do they alter cyber-brat behavior? Maybe not, but I’m guessing for 3 days or so (at some time in the future) somebody had a bit of relief.

In light of this bug, I would suggest anyone that wants some sort of compensation submit a support request stating what you have lost (number of laurels you would have gotten, etc.). I can’t imagine that Anet would not in some way compensate a reasonable request in some way.
Calling names, throwing cyber-fits and DEMANDING things is likely not the best way to handle this situation, but if acting like a spoiled 5 year old makes you feel better, throw some profanity in the request.
Bugs happen, if this is your “last straw” and quit the game from it, you were well on your way to getting out anyway.
Bye!!!! Have fun storming The Castle!!
Per above, nobody said YOU purchased it an NPC, but someone did and then sold it to you. I think only white (and maybe blue) items purchased from an NPC can be sold on the TP.
If you bought it from an NPC, you likely cannot salvage it.
The removal of the transmutation system makes this distinction VERY important now in terms of adding (and being unable to economically retrieve) upgrades on these items.
You actually buy a BOOK item that you MUST use (click to consume) to actually unlock the trait. Maybe the item is in your inventory and you just didn’t know to look for it?
4 possibilities here:
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Feel free to submit a REQUEST to support and request one, but be warned that their policy is NOT to replace items you lose when deleting a character (I have heard of exceptions but they are usually related to unique or one time only items)
SERVICES (top right of this page) > SUPPORT > SUBMIT A REQUEST (top right of that page).
Also, due to the recent patch changes and item refunds currently going on, Support is likely swamped so you may have a bit of a wait before getting a response.
Was your password changed in the course of the original hack? If so, you email was likely compromised (so you NEED to secure that fist).
Until you fully secure your account (change password, secure email / change linked email), talking to support about a rollback is NOT going to protect you from further hacks (and your ONE and ONLY rollback will most likely be wasted).
Not sure why you think posting this here will get you any satisfaction (for such an outlandish request). You are free to submit a ticket to Support (and good luck with that).
This is a known “issue”. Whether or not it is a “bug” or part of the “wider range of options” Anet intended has yet to be determined. I am unaware of Anet commenting on this “issue”.
Before the wardrobe, I would warn you against wasting money on ANY items before you reach 80, but since the purchase would unlock the skin and you could use it on any of your (same race) characters from then on….go for it.
As mentioned above, Cultural armor (not weapons) are only wearable by that specific race and the stats are fixed (but different per race).
Here is a wiki table that details this: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cultural_armor
How about allowing currently non-salvagable gear to become salvageable with the following differences (not sure if that is even technically possible with the current salvage system):
Not sure if this at all technically possible (having salvage kits work differently on different “items” might be tougher than it sounds). I know account bound upgrades exist (I have a few in my bank) but I have no idea where they came from or how they currently are generated (or if this method can be made to generate them without huge coding changes).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
No because lvl 80 zones wont be affected by the megaserver rollout until later this year.
So how’d that prediction work out for you, I see T6 blood has hit 48s each now.
Looking at TP Sell/Buy prices and Supply vs Demand, Ancient Wood looks fine, but Ori Supply seems to be steady while the Demand has gone up (but the price is relatively stable).
BTW, you mentioned Powerful Blood (not a node associated material as mentioned previously). It’s price in FACT spiked down a good bit after the patch went live and has since rebounded to pre-patch levels and while it HAS moved slightly higher since the patch there was a spike in demand (for some reason) and NO drop in Supply (your claim of a pending problem).
So far, I see no evidence that the Megaserver system has in any way “hurt” the overall economy in terms of farming nodes. Obviously, it’s not as easy as looking at GW2nodes any longer, but I loaded several characters into Frostgorge last night and they all hit the same nodes (once I located them by using MAP chat for 15 seconds).
…..
The Chinese version of GW2 is a P2W model.
…..
From the examples of some of the differences I have seen listed, I would not say it is a TRUE 100% P2W game, but it is certainly monetized differently than the GW2 we are playing and some of the things they are doing would make me NOT want to play (and would certainly invite even MORE “GW2 is P2W NOW!!!!!”, threads in this place).
Let’s take an example. I am at least level 150 on my crafts, so I don’t need Tier 1 and 2 materials any more. So, if I get Iron Ore, I just sell on the TP. Currently, I get 1s 10c from the highest buy order. But the lowest sell is 1s 33c. So maybe I’ll try listing them at 1s 32c tonight and see what happens.
Unless you are SURE you never want any Ascended items you might want to hold on to those T2 – T6 materials….. (Sell the T1s all day long).
If they actually WANT to increase the ability of LVL 80s to obtain lower tier materials, the solution is more loot bags and less item drops (maybe just in lower level areas?).
Maybe add a guaranteed loot bag from Vets while slightly increasing the chance for a loot bag from normal enemies?
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
To be honest, the best solution may be allowing the salvaging of items you cannot currently salvage, but with the following stipulations:
This would make it less attractive to spend karma enmass to obtain salvage items and no way to directly turn the upgrades into gold via the TP. Obviously, this would allow everyone to use Karma to obtain some runes they would otherwise likely buy on the TP, but I’m not sure that would be a bad situation.

I have yet to enter a Orr zone and not either have control of the Temple or the event in some stage of completion. I just went to Balth Temple this morning….5AM CDT US.
I know it has presented some major issues for some engagements of the community, but I personally think Megaserver ROCKS!
I wasn’t accusing you of being a noob, just stating that what I wrote is an easy mistake to make and I will admit I’ve made it before (but realized what happened soon after).
I think the % changes to a lower number even if you have completed it previously.
I think both those examples qualify as “sad shape” and likely fall into the category of players that don’t know how to manage their money. As you stated, it is NOT hard to make money in this game and nobody is hiding how to do so from any player that simply asks.
If you are level 80 and need to “farm” for 3g, you are in sad shape. In any event, “farming” for that gold would also get you lots of other items you likely need once you reach LVL 80 anyway. If you just go clear zones you can get 3g in a few days of moderate game-play.
I will concede that some of the choices for events / bosses for the new skills are potentially questionable, but the fact that they give everyone another option to obtain the skills makes that complaint moot.
BTW, there is NO real way to transmute any longer. You are simply adding an unlocked skin to your existing equipment piece.
Exactly how did you “complete” the zones in question?
It’s quite common for a zone to get a PoI or Waypoint added and players that completed a zone (and got the reward) long ago now pick up the added location and expect to get a 2nd reward (you’re not suppose to). This is more likely than this kind of “bug” existing for one player.
Confusion, Shattering (and now Torment) Mesmers question your placement of them as “third tier”……
……(BTW I know the trick to have stack sigil in underwater weapon and stack in land but I don’t approve it and I hope Anet fix it soon)
I agree. Just hope it does not take as long as the fix to remove stacks on weapon change did…..(wasn’t that bug in the game since release?).
I think the only way this can be resolved is to ALLOW For salvaging of these items but restrict the materials AND account bound the upgrades that come off them when salvaged. Not sure if this is technically possible at this point, but it needs to be investigated by the Devs.
Speaking of that, I know there have been tons of posts about this issue and it appears to me to be a rather large oversight on Anet’s part, but has ANYONE from ANet even commented on this issue at all? If so, would someone please link to that comment? It is certainly possible this was intentional to spur upgrade sales, but I find that kind of difficult to believe without a Dev stating it in writing.
I see both sides of this as Anet does need to put out dailies that are different and get players to enter areas of the game they might not normally do.
On the other hand, having only 12 options for dailies (usually 6 of each type) is quite restrictive (but does allow for one of them to NOT be done and still get dailies without having to PvP (or PvE).
To be honest, I liked the new daily and actually got some Orr map completion that I have been avoiding because of it. I can see where players with less than LVL 70 characters are annoyed by it, however.
Need to submit a ticket and possibly post that in the BUG forum (if one does not already exist). I’m not sure how the existence of a text file in a folder can crash the game client, but I guess if it is somehow corrupted…..?
You are correct….tried it last night. MY BAD!
I think the fact that it was removed and not put back up is a sign they are seeking a REAL solution to the “can’t salvage items with valuable upgrades” issue. This was a pretty big oversight on ANet’s part when putting out this patch, so I think they know they need to resolve it in a acceptable manner (tho, I do wish they would reply to the MANY MANY posts here and says something (maybe they have and I just missed it).
Anywho…..I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that they are working on a solution that is not so horribly expensive.
I haven’t had a reply yet and it’s been 2 days. Now I understand as was stated in another post that recently you’ve had a LOT of tickets ever since the April 15 update, but I would like a little response, even just a “We’re looking into your account” so I’ll know that someone’s reviewing my account and know that I may recover what I lost from the hack. Right now I can’t play because 1) I don’t have the gear to do dungeons and 2) what I gain may be lost when my account is recovered. Anyways, I still have the one ticket, 560308:Compromised account, and I do hope I get a response soon. Many thanks.
If you did not get a nearly immediate response (automated) email when you submitted your ticket, there is something up with your email communications with support. Check your junk mail.
Had to burn 2 skill scrolls to get today’s daily done since 3 of the 8 non-pvp goals were WvW or fractal. Only have level 80 characters and no way I can gain 3 levels in my daily gaming session.
Thanks Anet.
You only need to gain one Level for Leveler. You may be thinking of Skill Points, where you need to gain 3.
There are a limited number of skill points in the open world….if they are all completed, then a skill scroll and a level are the only ways to gain skill points (thus without the scrolls, you would need to level up 3 times).
Looks as if the “only 10” happens in the current achievement rotation (every 5 days?).
I’m not being highly critical, but if some days there are 12 options and then only 10 are available other days, I tend to think the rotation is in some way bugged.
PLEASE fix this Anet.

I’m not sure how anyone could ever answer this question unless they have nearly identical connection and hardware setup as you will have when you are “overseas”.
What revenue does Anet have incoming to continue to run the game?
1) New game sales.
2) RL money to Gem purchases.
Unless we players are all going to buy another copy of the game for the hell of it, they better get some players buying gems…. You can be uncomfortable about this situation all you like, but it is what it is. (necessary).
aside that fact, the game now is the most grinding game out there and the RNG progress is just sad.
Such over exaggerations make everything you type questionable. If you have a point to make, try avoid mixing in blatant falsehoods to support your claims….
Dragonite is fairly easy to get now if you can just find a world Boss group (and with the schedules that’s not hard). No need to track events any longer as far as I can tell.
PS: Answer “Throw away” is considered not on the level
Throw it away, if you think it clogs your inventory and you dont intend to craft with it.
And if deleting it is not an option for you, then keep it in the full knowledge that they will never be made tradeable or vendorable.
I’ve heard a lot of people complaining lately that they did this with their Transmutation Stones in the past…..same thinking you posted above.
It is always possible a new recipe (that isn’t useless) may come out to use the Bloodstone Dust (the REAL issue here) and it’s not impossible they will eventually make it tradeable in some manner. Vendor-able would certainly be preferable to just destroying it.
I was not effected by this bug, but I’m interested….did the patch last night fix this for everyone?
I’d be interested in working on getting some of the higher level ones (I’ve never done any of the Orr area ones). Just to add, this adventure is usually best started just after the monthly Achievement reset (as 12 jumping puzzles has always been one of the monthly Achievements).
I’m on Yak’s Bend (US)
