Nope, they are actual weapons, just like the armors.
The weapon he is looking for is a norn t1 cultural weapon
You are looking at the wrong vendor…and I was mistaken about the Badges as it’s the Karma vendor that sells the skins.
You are right that the Cultural Norn sword / greatsword are also the skins the OP asked about.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
You are wrong. I’m pretty sure all the cultural weapon skins (below the rare ones) are available as skins from that vendor.
I KNOW those 2 are as I almost bought the Zweinhander one over the weekend (but I picked the Krytan Greatsword one instead).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
From my calculation, we about due a free trial period weekend real soon.
You can buy the skin(s) in WvW at a vendor in your home server Borderland (costs Badges).
Any chance you can alter the Fellblade pic to include something to scale (A meter / yard stick, etc.)? It certainly looks awesome, but can’t really tell the size without something to size it with.
You realize that the people that can “devalue” your Legendary by skinning another weapon as a Legendary actually obtained a Legendary….right?
Your exclusive “club” is crashing their own party. Don’t expect a lot of sympathy from us “have nots”.
Again my real point is how much will this cost me me to remake all my role play and what I used to have with mix and match towns clothes that Anet will be taking away!
Just a suggestion, but why not wait until tomorrow and you KNOW how much you are being “charged” and you can present a complaint / suggestion with actual factual data?
Exactly where did you get that information? I don’t see anything in the Wardrobe system blog that indicates this. If there were other Dev comments to back up your statement, please link to them.
FTFY, some of us hate the leveling aspect because it means we can’t do what we like aka dungeons/wvw.
Valid point…..touche!
No.
I’m not against a “special” map (kind of like the short bus) for those that want it, but don’t FORCE me to ride…..errr enter it.
You have 2 legendary weapons (that can switch stats on the fly).
Why would anyone compensate you when you can now apply the Legendary skin to any other of your character’s weapons (of the same type)?
They are ADDING a feature. Nothing will be taken away.
You are welcome for me ruining the best part of GW2 for you.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
The reason for the 64 character limit is simple:
64 bits and each bit indicates an active character slot.
GW1 had 32 limit. OSs when GW1 released were primarily 32bit.
I hope you are joking…..(sarcasm does not translate to forum posts very well).
This does not need to turn into a binary math class, but your OS or computer processor address line capability is NOT related to this issue in the least.
You can get a decent machine with $600, but you are likely going to have to cut some corners.
I suggest an i5 quad at least.
8GB of memory
you might have to skip larger SSDs at that budget, but a set of regular HDs set for RAID 0 will give fairly good disk performance (and you can always add SSDs later and still use the HDs for storage and backup).
I use Newegg and subscribe to their newsletters and daily specials when I’m going for a system. A few months of keeping an eye on these always nets good parts at discounted prices (if you are not in a hurry to buy all the components at once).
Whatever you do….make your password at LEAST 10 characters (if not 12 or more).
Do NOT use the same password for different sites (the most common way sites are compromised these days) and I suggest setting up email aliases for logins to very critical websites.

I’d say the risk is pretty high if you expect to sell the UIDs after the patch….however anyone that plans to do this isn’t so smart to begin with as if every player gets an average of 25-100 UIDs that can be sold on the TP tomorrow, the price will dive like a submarine (then it will rebound, but I don’t think it will ever get back to the current level for months).
Of course, there are sure to be some players speculating on the long term (since UIDs will no longer drop) and plan to hold them until the price goes back up, but that could also be a huge gamble as the only real solid market for UIDs after this change will be people forging Bifrost.
If they are account bound, then your only recourse will be to open all of them, potentially fill out your account wide dye pallet and sell the remaining opened dyes…..so ided dye prices will likely take a big dip but that is likely to happen to some extent no if the UIDs are not account bound as many players will use this as an opportunity to fill out their dye pallet anyway.
I see the smart play as doing NOTHING then opening some percentage (or all) of the UIDs you get, fill out your account wide pallet and then go put in some low ball buy orders for colors you lack but have been wanting for a while.

The warning here is good but why would you think a Dev is going to answer about something like this? Put in a support ticket and make sure you mention your concerns about the potential for other players to repeat this failed process in your ticket.
Also, keep in mind that there is a 3rd party (and likely more we are both unaware of) involved in this transaction (Paypal), so making the assumption that the error and what needs to be done to fix it is 100% Anet’s fault / responsibility is not completely fair.
Short answer: Anet has reported that all SSL encryption used is handled via IIS (Microsoft based) servers and was never vulnerable to the OpenSSL bug (Heartbleed).
I can do a byte count of a game session to give some rough estimates, but I would suspect that it does depend on the game mode you are in and the local player population near where you are.
Definately the updates are going to hurt you financially as they are often multiple GB of data and I suspect the one due out tomorrow is going to be pretty large (but then again, they are not adding a lot of content, just user interface and functionality changes, so it may not be that big).
As mentioned above, missed Bandit and no mention of Wasp (usually someone runs from Spider to see if Wasp is active while another goes and starts the Boar event. It’s usually pretty easy to pull the Wasp Queen to near “Bacon Hill” so everyone waiting there (for the Boar) will get in on the Wasp Kill (she takes a bit longer to die as she disappears and summons some minions a few times before dying).
Angelica: Broken events like this CAN be fixed but it’s not easy….you have to get ALL players to exit the zone and let it reset (I have no idea if that is immediate or takes some short period of time).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
The blog certainly seemed to indicate that ALL ascended items would become account bound after the patch goes live. Anything that has pink text name is the way I read the comments made.
I take it to mean you can program a single click or a single button combination (i.e. CTRL + ALT), but NOT a series of button presses (and certainly not a repetitive or looping series of button presses).
My understanding is that the manuals will no longer be needed, but will be replaced by a yet un-detailed system of unlocking trait skills (similar to the way GW1 unlocked specific skills, but i don’t think there will be an NPC to sell ALL of them like in GW1). I was under the impression that some will be easily obtained via story rewards (possibly some NPC vendors) while others will require additional effort to hunt down and earn them in some manner.
This is basically going to add another dimension to leveling and building a character from the ground up and I’m sure some will love it and (very likely) some will hate it.
Also, they mentioned that this will ONLY effect characters with currently unlocked trait levels in terms of any newly released skills and this patch will also release a new Grandmaster trait skill for each attribute line.
Of course, I could be reading it all wrong but am content to find out tomorrow.

OP has no clue of how computers (digital) actually store numbers….
64 makes perfect since if you do.
Anyone that hits the limitation has spent enough gems with ANet to request a special compensation by ANet to go to 128 (the next BIT increase) (and possibly some therapy coupons….)
If you get another whisper from what you think is the same account after you blocked them, YOU are mistaken…..it is another account/character (likely with a very similar randomized name). All you can do is report and block.
Billy Ray Valentine….Capricorn!
Devs already stated they are NOT going to respond to refund questions until after the patch goes live…then they are going to tell you to submit a ticket….just like we have.
The Lion’s Arch Hub has moved to Vigil Keep (NE Gandaran Fields). Note that there are no free access crafting facilities there….you have to use other cities to craft (or pay for a limited time ticket for the crafting facilities at Vigil Keep).
I have yet to enter that area and not see numerous players on my server (Yaks Bend).
So basically it was just a money grab to get people to pay to have access to crafting stations -_-
While that is not an inaccurate statement, they DO have to pay the bills and they don’t have monthly fees. I’m not going to begrudge them trying to make money, but I’m also NOT paying for crafting when I can go thru a nearby portal and travel a bit to do it for free….
Actually, the best Crafting / Trading hub in the game is in EbonHawke, but that’s a bit out of the way and requires 2 portal trips (via Divinity’s Reach)

It will make it easy for someone to apply the same look to any other Bow. They will NOT easily get the Ascended Exotic weapon from the forge.
I think the OP is just upset that someone will actually have a bow that looks like hers AND have useful stats….bummer.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
I’m sure there’s a joke in there, but I can’t see it.
That’s what she said…..no, wait….

I have a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell.
Fondly remembers the GW1 Factions Quest.….. sigh
The current noise-makers are all fun and provide hours of entertainment, they are a great addition to the game.
……
Some of us DON’T find it entertaining to listen to amateur 24 hour while in every civilized location in the game….. Instrument MUTE!!!
Much better than wasting gems on town clothes and other useless bling.
Absolutely!
And i don’t get why people spend 700 gold for a set of ascended armor that makes them in total not even 1% better
While I agree with the point, the improvement is actually closer to 5% (still not worth it in my view).
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
I seriously doubt the exchange dyes will be account bound (but I think the possibility exists). I’m guessing I’ll get between 25 and 50 (never been a huge dye fan) and if I’m forced to open all of them, I won’t be upset. I can certainly see how someone that has spent 100s of gold getting rare dyes for 10 alts might be a bit peeved, however…..
We should have an ecto nerf sticky.
Purple Nerf ball with a darker purple center covered in purple suction cups….
Did I type that out loud?
Sure…just not ascended right now (in a few days it will not matter).
Seems warrior is very popular! i will take this into consideration when picking.
Don’t, they are ok but not really great. They are very good to make mistakes on but not really great to learn the game on.
I disagree. Warrior is a fine class to learn the game with. I’d rather see a player learn with this than a Bowbear Ranger that teaches horrible game play habits. It’s not all bad that Warriors are forgiving of small mistakes.
Asura size has nothing to do with “clicking” on them (that’s what targeting keys are for). The smaller visual size can actually HIDE better from sight and IS an advantage no matter what Anet says about hitboxes (that ARE the same size as a Norn).

You are unlikely to get a different answer in any forum because the most efficient way to play GW2 is to out DPS your opponent. You can play anyway you like in PvE roaming, but when you try to go into a Dungeon or Fractals with a non-Zerk build you are going to get negative reactions because your build now effects the others in your party.
You may need a build / equipment combination for each mode you play in (especially if you are only playing ONE character). Many players use other characters and build and equip them for a specific type of game play (a WvW mesmer, a Dungeon Guardian, etc.)
BTW, LB on a warrior is mostly condition based and using it with a non-condition build is just not that smart (but do what you want in PvE Open World). You don’t HAVE to use a ranged weapon as most melee weapons have a closer skill of some sort.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Well, your title is not going to get any Dev to look at it. How about changing it to:
BUGGED WVW MAP: YAKS BEND BORDERLAND
Event chains CAN get bugged on a server zone. I’m only aware of one way to fix them and that is to have the zone reset. This can only be accomplished by getting ALL players to leave the zone for some length of time (I have NO idea how long this is) so that when the next player tries to enter the zone, it rebuilds itself. This is what happens when ANet FORCES everyone into a new zone with an update (the update code itself has nothing to do with the glitch getting corrected).
Unfortunately, Queensdale is going to be a real challenge to get everyone to leave as it is both a popular Champ Train zone and new player start zone (and often used by BL key farmers). Good luck.
EDIT: My suggestion is a temporary solution and the bugging can certainly occur again in the future. Getting the actual event glitches to stop is another matter entirely (I guess the actual BUG itself).
Are you stating it is completely frozen forever or just has a delay?
If it’s just a temporary delay that you are complaining about, I’ve had this since the game released (not after a few patches ago). The data that is displayed in the TP dialog is stored on a separate server than the game server and has to load when you open the TP. There HAS to be some sort of delay when this happens.
Now it is possible they changed something in the way the dialog displays, but if the TP works ok for you after this delay, I’m not entirely sure why this would be an issue for you.
Yes but it’s not stickied or in a forum I don’t usually go into….thanks.
My bad.
I wouldn’t call it “cheating” but a known (and programmed) behavior of every spawned enemy in the game. I’m not sure of the reasoning behind it but even normal enemies will do this if you lead them too far from their spawn locations (or SOME pre-programmed location on the map). If I had to guess, this is designed like this so you can’t lead a difficult foe to a group of NPCs for an easy (or assisted) kill.
It certainly sucks when you spend 10 minutes wearing down a Champ (happened to me a few weeks back with the Svanir Beast Champ in North Wayfarer). I’ve never seen (or bothered to ask for) an official reason as to why enemies do this but consider this a “learning” experience….
+1 to Support (they don’t hear that enough, I’m sure)
+10 to OP….thanks for taking the time to relate this to members here.
And the trading post issue on Mac’s was directly caused by heartbleed. CloudFront rolled their SSL certs because heartbleed may have comprised them, and for some reason awesomium doesn’t like the new cert. It would appear it ignores the system installed root certs, so I assume it has it’s own outdated root store, or other hard-coded hackyness. Either way heartbleed was the root cause of the break.
I have no idea how your information relates to the BLTP or the MAC client (if those use the above mentioned, that would not be common knowledge, so may be you should mention that), but SSL certs are replaced all the time….nobody would hard code a cert (that kind of defeats the purpose of a ‘certificate’ in general).
If a changed SSL cert “broke” something it was broken long before fixing Heartbleed required the Cert to be replaced. I don’t think you understand the meaning of the term “root cause” as it does not mean the first or initiating step in a process that failed.

Isn’t it possible that certain very LOW supply items should limited to a single sale on the TP? When they get bought, they become ACCOUNT BOUND? I get that may effect the immediate supply, but would DRASTICALLY reduce demand (I think).
That would eliminate high value item “flipping” and attempts to corner a market (no matter how impossible that may actually be). Resource items would still allow for “playing the TP”.
To be honest, I tend to think Legendaries should not be sellable at all on the TP and should come out of the forge ACCOUNT BOUND. Due to the RNG aspect of Precursors, they should be able to be sold, but maybe just a single time?
RNG code has a problem they just can’t find that that favors some and has a major negative impact on many others, not only with precursors, but with many other drops as well even with good MF, and buffed. ;-(
What happened to the part about it being intentional and weighted toward those that buy Gems? If you are gonna rant about crazy conspiracy theories on a street corner, at least get the facts of the theory correct.
This is still as easy as changing the forge recipe. Bound swords going in? Bound Eternity coming out. Unbound swords going in? Unbound Eternity coming out.
…….everything solved.
This seems to be the most reasonable and technically feasible way to eliminate the exploit potential. I still don’t get why people seem to believe that the visuals of a Legendary are equal to having a Legendary but I guess this world is full of superficial ideals….
