Fate is just the weight of circumstances
That’s the way that lady luck dances
Well none of them are technically any PLAYERs class…..(if you read the EULA).
I play them all (and am self professed master of none). I gravitate toward my Thief, Warrior and Engineer, however.
ranger, longbow, 1500+ range, 1, 2, 1, 2, repeatedly, and relax in the back while your team gets chewed on.
That’s either great satire or why Rangers have such a bad reputation (or both).
IT’S ALIVE!!!!!
This wiki page can answer those questions (or links to the answers):

One other note is that Assasins gear on the TP can be significantly less expensive than Zerker gear so if buying (rather than crafting) some coin can be saved by going with a few pieces of Assasins gear rather than full Zerker.
Also, builds that use a lot of reflection and/or “on critical” upgrades can benefit from Precision over Power to some degree, but it’s hard to argue with the benefits of MOAR POWER!!!! when you look at he bare numbers.

You only have to unlock the XIII Trait if the character already existed….it’s not that big a deal. Now starting a new character will be a bit of a different experience and (IMO) better.
How is not fun to go out into the world and earn the traits you want as you level up?
Now I can understand those with mid level characters reacting badly to how the Trait points unlock now, but I understand they are trying to give players incentive to go out into the open world rather than level up at a crafting table or in a Champ Zerg (which is still possible now).
Only if starting a new character will the leveling up experience be drastically altered. If you didn’t like leveling up as before you can still do it and only spend the money to buy the Traits you want.

From wiki: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Linen
You can alternatively buy the bags listed on the above page, open them and keep the Linen scraps while selling any other materials or items obtained (might be more lucrative than just buying the scraps directly).
Since the material is obtained from LVL 44-63 items, any enemies that drop bags from the following areas would likely be good to farm:
Low end: Bloodtide Coast
Sweet spot: Iron Marches, Timberline Falls
High end: Sparkfly Fen
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Ok. Here’s the simplest I can explain it:
Actually unlocking the traits depend on when your character was CREATED:
I am unsure if you can earn (or buy) Traits prior to the tier they belong to being unlocked (via leveling), but I am guessing you CAN earn them early (so they will be available when you unlock the tier via level).

Did you read it? A text file cannot harm your computer if opened (assuming it is REALLY a text file).
Why are you having to change your password? Are you unable to log in? Keep in mind that a good test of your log in credentials is if you can log in here (as we are told that both this site AND the client run off the same user database).
If you suspect your password is being changed that could be a sign of a more serious security issue (like you email has been hacked).
I would say report them all and let Support sort it out. I’m guessing they would ignore singular reports, but if the same few guys are doing this to multiple players (whether with any sort of reason or just for mean spirited kicks) someone needs to be made aware of it.
Again, the policy of “that’s just the way Dungeon PUGs are”, is never going to improve the current system. I get that many Dungeon runners don’t think that’s a bad idea and again, that attitude is part of the problem with Dungeons (for non-runner players).
Also, anything that might be in the bank that IS Soulbound to this character (that will soon no longer exist) will never be able to be removed or destroyed and just take up bank space until the end of time.

I had to visit HotM at least 3 times before my PvP skins unlocked (LOTS more than I recall getting from Achievement chests as I have only played about half a dozen PvP matches total).
Also, many of the PvP skins are also named something different in the Wardrobe itself. If you search the wiki for the name you are looking for you can often find what the wardrobe now calls that skin.
Can she log in here? If so, make SURE she is using her EMAIL address as the user and not her display name (the client needs the associate email address, not the display name).
Also, have her try unchecking BOTH of the remember boxes and logging in (she can then exit and recheck the boxes and when logging in and the client will remember the new info).
You can also request that Support change the password for you and then change it here (MY ACCOUNT link above).

I find the idea that the slang cyber term PWN as “offensive” to be laughable and if THAT is the reason it is in violation, then my PC meter just pegged into the red. If that term is an established known violation….well that might be just crossing the “offensive” line by a bit (IMO). Alas, my (or any other player’s) opinion means nothing in terms of the decision, but I would like to hear the Support/Dev conversation on how that is actually offensive.
To be brutally honest, I would take the name as the player either being very immature and potentially arrogant or making a huge joke at their own expense.
I was booted from CM path 1 near the boss on 4/30/14 at around 9:25am. not sure how to report that or it could be reported.
You might want to edit, as the above would have been impossible. =)
If he has a screen capture from the future your gonna fell pretty dumb…..
Noted (I clicked on the ? but did not hover). Table is badly formatted if you ask me.

While the idea is a good one (and I support it) I don’t think they can technically randomize the nodes while the map is populated (per suggestion at server reset time).
I think they CAN however invalidate or tag a map to be retired so that no more people can join it (and thus eventually it will become empty and not exist any longer). This is how they “reset” maps when updates go live.
Whether this can be setup to be done on a daily basis (or whether Anet would want to do it) is another question.
On a side note, I’m not sure this would be a BAD idea to do across the board on ALL Megaserver instances as I have seen continual reports of BUGGED event chains, Bosses , etc. and daily retirement of maps WOULD reset those bugged events. On the other hand, this would likely cause an increase in live server maps in existence (for some period of time) and I’m sure that one of the side (and economic) benefits to the Megaserver system that Anet desires is a reduced map count.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
It is not unreasonable to begin the conversation of when this time gating might be removed (or altered to a lesser wait).
I think everyone tends to agree Anet overlooked this one big time (I sure hope that’s the explanation and not that they SERIOUSLY expect us to buy 6 upgrade extractors to remove runes from a set of armor that can’t be salvaged).
My suggestion is a one time purchase item that uses transmutation charges to extract upgrades.
I cannot find on the wiki what exactly scales the healing, but it IS the Finisher and not the Field.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Water_field
1,320 + 20% of finisher’s healing power
Interesting…..my browser shows 1320 (0.2)…. in the Note field (no mention of Healing Power). If I edit the wiki article I see it mentions HEALING but does not show up in the displayed table.
I’ve certainly always felt THE BANE is a perfect location for a Dueling arena. At this point, I think Anet wants to concentrate efforts on PvE being co-op oriented only.
It’s funny that you mention the Ranger “easy button” (Pet) as it is one of the major reasons that the Ranger class gets a less than stellar reputation at higher levels (some cases deserved, others not at all).
Some of it is that it inherently teaches “bad” combat habits to new players (a built in 2nd target and generally decent ranged damage without needing to move and re-position as much during combat) and allows them to survive thru most of the game content in what some would categorize as a “lazy” and not very efficient mode of play.
Pets can also provide a significant source of damage, conditions and often control (as well they should) and that fact only becomes an issue when they are taken out of combat. In general open world play, this does not happen very often, but in situations where very hard hitting damage or heavy area of effect damage happens often (Dungeons, World Bosses, certain Champion encounters, etc.) this can render the Ranger woefully ineffective with a pet limping around and not being able to contribute to the overall goal at 100% performance level.
Don’t get me wrong, I play a Ranger and enjoy the game-play it provides, but I know the limitations of the Class and while I consider myself an above average player (in terms of skill and knowledge) I certainly see plenty of examples of “bad” Ranger players all around and can understand the disdain some players have toward the Class (rather than just the bad players behind them).
I’m not trying to discourage you from playing a Ranger, just giving you a heads up on translating some of the information that you seem to be figuring out on your own.
(edited by Brother Grimm.5176)
Just as a general comment, I flushed 16 major runes yesterday and got 3 Superiors (Divinity, Travellers & Air) in a row. RNG is RNG.
(4th was some Major I don’t recall and is in my bank waiting for some more to flush).
I am thinking they may end up putting those events on some sort of starting timer like the World Bosses, but even then, those event chains can be quite lengthy and involved to complete (and open the Temples) so I’m not sure how much good that would do. Also, not being sure of the failure timing and status of each event in the chain would be problematic at best.
I cannot find on the wiki what exactly scales the healing, but it IS the Finisher and not the Field.
The link I provided gives all those details.
Note that if your email address is compromised none of the above will help you as Anet will assume any email coming from that address is you and will perform any requests (such as changing your password and disabling the authentication). Actually # 1 might keep this from working as the hacker must be smart enough to SEND the email from the proxy address, or Anet will NOT automatically assume it is you and will likely request several forms of verification that the hacker will be unable to provide.
From what I have seen, the most common method of account compromise now is starting from a compromised email account.

This combat system in GW2 differs from most other MMOs out there so it may be some lack of knowledge that is your problem.
Note that the above points are generally true of the game in general, not every situation requires them to be recognized as absolute law. Many lower level normal foes rarely presents a problem unless they have control skills (knockdown, stun, etc.). However, not learning to play with a “KEEP MOVING & DON’T GET HIT” mentality is the best way to learn bad habits that will certainly get you killed in more dangerous situations.
Even much lower level foes can become an issue if you become vastly outnumbered and are overwhelmed and lack area of effect damage or some form of control skills yourself. When a Veteran or Elite pops up with those mobs, it can turn to a very serious survival situation. If you ALWAYS fight like the next hit you take could kill you, when you face that Champion solo, you will at least have constantly trained yourself on how to survive the situation and come out with a potential victory.
Hope this helps.

Other World Boss events (but I’m not sure how successful those are going right now due to the MegaServer Changes).
WvW Keep/Castle captures give dragonite ore.
the trait system is not made for the current game because gw2 is a aged game 90%+ of the game population is 80 already so they have several ways to get their alt to 80 fast with help of their main.and this game still has new comers but their number is not big enough to make anet reconsider.
but the question is why change to trait system now after almost 20 months?
because of the expansion:)
remember all of us are going to be low levels again when expansion hits and they want us to go through expansion content by unlocking traits rather than rushing through content to reach level cap again.
that is why many people are for it. it actually make leveling fun when you play an expansion it is patch preparing you for the future.
Lots of wishful thinking and conjecture in that fantasy prediction….
I got my refund (550 gems) for two of my old one piece items and I go on today and I stillhave them in my guardian’s inventory.
Is this supposed to happen? were they supposed to take the stuff off my account I asked for a refund for?
Am I allowed to sell the two tonics to the TP and get more gold? Or is that taking advantage and exploiting?
I don’t want to be banned suspended for exploiting…
Anyone else know or had the same issue?
Reread the mails carefully (unless you deleted them) and they should specify if they expect you to DESTROY the objects in question (doubt they will “take them” from your account, tho they MAY have altered them so you can’t sell or use them). If you deleted the email, I would respond to the refund ticket an ask before selling the items.
I tend to agree that the descriptions could be worded better in some cases.
The overall attempt to “merge” the Achievements should not compromise the clarity of what is required to complete the achievement and while most are quite clear, this is an example of actually NEEDING the term “in a PvP match” in the description.
Beyond the fact that you need to have an actual valid game account to view the forums (by design) this is an issue with your browser’s security settings. I use Chrome and tell it to remember my log in (but still have to log in occasionally….but not every time).
In game reports needed from every member that crashed and move this to the GAME BUG forum?
This is kind of a glitch in the reporting system that Anet needs to address. Once you leave an instance (being kicked from a Dungeon party), you no longer can access the party names to report them (clears chat log). This complaint has been standing since the report system come out.
I don’t run Dungeons, but several guild mates told me they take a screen shot of each PUG (or unknown leader) party early in the run so at LEAST you can manually type in the names from the graphics in a report. Definitely a PitA, but can give some satisfaction to an otherwise frustrating situation.
Probably best for you to just let it go and join a different party and try again.
The above solution is most likely the most widely used and may be the main reason the glitch has never been addressed. I would also venture that this may also be a HUGE reason many players try Dungeons a few (or one) time(s) and never return.

Just out of curiosity, what do you expect to be “refunded” to you for multiple (potentially crafted) Exotic armor?
Thing is i did contact CS its just day 3 and no replies…..
If you did not get a nearly immediate auto response (that the ticket was submitted), then your email is somehow blocking the support contact attempts (in junk mail, possible email provider block, potential email account compromised and hacker is deleting responses).
If i was hacked would’nt they have taken my gold/items ? i still have everything.
My account was compromised and I didn’t realize it for over a week (was taking a break from the game). For some odd reason NOTHING was taken and so far (three months ago / fingers crossed) I haven’t been banned for gold selling.
Support confirmed someone logged into the account from the Orient for less than 30 seconds only (hacked my horribly insecure email account and changed my GW2 account password). Guess my stuff sucks….(I had a bit over a 100 gold in a personal guild bank but nothing else worth very much).
If you want to be extra sure, unauthorize that IP address and the next log in SHOULD activate the Authentication (and THEN reauthorize the IP address so it does not keep prompting for authentication).
Be aware that if you email account is compromised a hacker can sit logged into your web mail while asking for a password change and click on the link and delete the email before you even realize (or are notified on your phone) that the email ever came in.
Most webmail accounts do NOT allow for any history beyond deleted mails (that the hacker can empty immediately).
This happened to me and the only indication I had was the email from support requesting feedback on the ticket that I never opened (to change password). Needless to say I have changed my email (using a proxy email address ONLY for GW2).
Assume that you associated email account is also compromised and react accordingly.
Submit a ticket and I’m sure support will help you out. I’ve seen other posts here where support provided a splitter to resolve such an issue (but I have no idea if they will give you 3 or 4 of them).
Per above, I doubt the policy is going to allow for what you are asking, but I doubt it can hurt to detail what are requesting and submit a ticket. Since those items were purchased for gold, I don’t think they are considering refunds for them (but I could be wrong).
Patch notes mention a change in this event. Here you go:
Admiral Taidha Covington
- The Lion’s Arch Galleon will appear at Taidha’s base as soon as the boss is activated to draw fire from Taidha’s defenses.
- If the Lion’s Arch Galleon is destroyed, the event fails, causing the Lionguard to retreat. Players can help the galleon survive by defeating Taidha’s cannoneers.
- Once the north and south towers of Taidha’s base are destroyed, the galleon will begin bombarding the door. Players can assist the bombardment by carrying explosive kegs to the door.
- If the door is destroyed, the event to kill Taidha will begin as normal.
Various scaling factors were adjusted to keep difficulty consistent through a wider range of player counts.
If you put in a support ticket, they will supply a Splitter (I’ve seen other posts here that stated as much).
It does appear to be an oversight in the current system that Anet needs to address (IMO). In your above example, it’s obviously cheaper to buy another Sigil.
Can you really not salvage an Ascended item (only have a few weapons and have never EVER considered getting anywhere near them with a salvage kit).
…..
Just for the record I got 3 warriors lvl 80
….
So none of your views would be biased at all, right?
Have you considered that being able to re-trait anywhere now makes 2 of you characters unnecessary equipment dummies?
You CAN adjust your looks without paying real money. You seem to be avoiding this fact with your request for FREE stuff (that has NEVER been free).
By any chance did you in-game report this as a bug?
Just assuming that it is working as intended and this was intentional (a LVL 76 from 4 LVL 80s) to screw you over is not a realistic view (no matter how many “Anet screws us again”, comments are made).
I get why they don’t want them salvageable (a few hours of WvW in EotM could net you dozens of ectos and dark mater). Maybe they should change the extractor item to be infinite use (adjust the price) and require transmutation charges to work?
They really need to address this issue as it appears to be a legit oversight in the current system.
…..so DON’T destroy the totem?
