I have now also created a support ticket, thank you for the suggestion. I did indeed have the gathering tools issue in mind, as ethics pointed out, when creating this post on the forum. I might be a crazy fool, but I have a feeling I’m not the only crazy fool, which is why I decided to create this thread.
You see no point in it; yet I like it very much. However, that, and the question of whether or not it’s exclusive is completely beside the point. It’s a customer care issue.
Update: as the offer for a permanent pass runs out in 10 hours, I have bought the permanent pass. Therefore, I would just like to request a refund of the temporary passes.
You are selling a permanent Royal Terrace pass. This is great. Heck, it’s fantastic.
However.
You are selling it right after selling the 2-week temporary passes “for a limited time only”. Obviously, I would like to request a refund for the eight (8) temporary passes that I bought, as I was led to believe this was the only way I could get access to the terrace.
Please see the attached picture.
Everybody and their mother needs 300 silk scraps per day. Most can’t farm that amount in one day. It’s a LOT. So the price will only go up. The price rise will stop once it becomes too expensive for the majority of players to buy silk, and an equilibrium is found at the highest acceptable price point.
I suspect that on the 21st the price will go down. But it all depends on when Anet implements craftable precursors (causing massive deflation) and in which area the next LS update will take place.
Ehm. Why was my observation based on salvaging 2k rares per month completely ignored? I thought that was far more interesting than all the dirt throwing back and forth? Or is the OP not interested in observations that do not correspond to his own?
If what you are after is successfully COMPLETE Guild Missions solo, very unlikely. If what you are looking for is just commendations, then it is quite possible
Commendations is indeed the only thing I’m interested in, many thanks, I’ll follow your suggestion and try the quaggan.
You’re supposed to be able to, yes. Don’t know how it works, though. Considering it already bugs even if your guild started the rush and finished all 15.
Thanks, that’s at least one option to explore then.
What if there’s another guild already doing the same guild rush? Can I join in, activate the same guild rush and get commendations?
But what if I had access to all the unlocks already in my old, deserted guild, that has everything unlocked. What mission could I do then?
Sorry, no. I’m still at an average of 0,9 per salvage. I salvage about 500 p/week with rare kits, and I see nothing wrong here. Sometimes you get 10x nothing but it evens out in the end.
Which guild commendation awarding activity can be solo’d?
Please don’t give me the “guild missions aren’t supposed to be solo’d” and “that defeats the purpose of such missions”. I know that. I just don’t want/can’t be in an active guild right now. And 40 laurels per accessory for 9 characters is a no-go. That’s insane, especially with the excessive laurel requirements that were introduced through ascended crafting.
So, I’m really only interested in answers as to what is possible. If there are missions that can be 2-manned, I’d also be interested to know.
Many thanks in advance!
Azure, you are what GW2 needs, but not right now. You need two weeks of no gaming. Come back and do the stuff you enjoy the most first. You can be ultra-competitive if your head is clear enough to see what you want to be competitive in. You have to choose what that is and become the best at it. And then, once you made up your mind, you have to start to ignore the clutter (be it achievement points, skins etc). Try it, it’s worth a shot. I figure you’d be good at PvP, but I’m curious to see what you’ll choose.
This actually means you’ll get a huge discount on transmutation splitters and upgrade extractors if you gift only one and buy 25. I was only interested in keys so I went with that.
Guys, some of the bugs in the sticky thread on armor/weapons clipping were reported nearly a year ago.
Could you please at least acknowledge that you’re aware of certain of these bugs so that we can stop reporting them?
To be fair, the actual pass does become account bound on activation.
AH!!!!
Beloved terrace, here I come! I’ll get 20 weeks worth of passes I think. I hope they’ll have come up with a permanent solution by then.
I have bought another four weeks in the hope that Anet will read this thread and take action. However, I won’t be redeeming them or buying more until the system’s flaws are fixed.
I love the Terrace too, and would have no problems paying for access every fortnight, but this very obvious and annoying flaw ruins the item for me.
Yea I agree this is flawed. But man, the moment I was there the ultimate convenience got me hooked again. They won’t have time to fix this overnight. So I bought 16 weeks in the hopes that by then, they’ll have a solution for alts (and devs, if you’re reading this, please allow the the item to stack!!). Remember though, in a way you’re also paying for the solitude and server responsiveness of a less populated area. So the more popular this item becomes, the less popular it is for people (like me) that can really enjoy those features.

Use this:

Basically, I buy cheap exotics from the TP and salvage them with BLSK. You may be surprised that many people actually sell their exotics at a lower price than the price of the upgrade they contain. Because of the high price of gems, buying BLSK with gold, for this purpose, is generally not worth it anymore. However, you can buy the gems with money and use your bought BLSK this way or you can use any of your free BLSK of course.
You can write an app that does this and I have developed such an app which I frequently rely upon for my ecto supply for almost a year now. This is allowed because you can always use gw2spidy and ArenaNet official api to do that.
You can gain a small profit selling the valuable upgrade after salvaging the cheap exotic. Whatever ectos, dark matter, or crafting materials you gain through the salvage are icing on the cake.
See folks, people like this, writing “apps”, in other words using a computer program to do the work for you, are the ones that completely ruined the TP for you. The same apps automate buy offers, even remotely. Some parts of the market are off limits because of guys like this; if they aren’t automating their buying behavior, their app is alerting them the moment they’re outbid so that they can change it. Yea, it’s cheating, straight up.
I wholeheartedly agree with the OP. I would buy 2 to 4k gems worth of passes if they can implement this before the sale goes away. Soulbound ON ACQUIRE, that in and of itself is ridoncolous for any gemstore item. I can in fact think of no other item in the gemstore that acts in this manner. It defeats the purpose of buying something for your account.
Wait what? Soulbound? I was actually about to buy half a year worth of passes, but soulbound is a no-go with 9 characters.
Because I’m a bit surprised that 1) there’s never any response and 2) nothing happens to the bugs reported there. I mean, my Norn female has never been able to have an offhand weapon that was not inside her knee. I reported this several times myself, in that thread as well, going back as far as 6 months ago.
C’mon guys. At least tell us you’re aware of the issues raised in the the sticky thread.
Recent reddit stories and screenshots have shown this is indeed happening. A mini hippo knocked back (plus animations and squealing sound), a mini burnt in the lava (fire shaman) and minis shooting lasers (twisted mini). It’s coming, they’re working on it. Some guy recently also datamined a feature allowing you to throw a ball to your mini.
I reported it as being bugged:
Wasted a lot of gold and got zip. As in, always the rare fifth tonic you didn’t insert into the forge. Never exotic.
I tried forging four different endless tonics a few times, but I kept only getting back the one endless (rare quality) tonic that I hadn’t put in (since there are 5 endless tonics of which you have to select 4 to put in the forge). I never got an exotic version back, neither the gift dolyak tonic nor the toymaker’s tonic.
Is this intended? This is very different from my experiences last year. I wasted a lot of gold to come to this conclusion; this was not announced in the patch notes?
+1 to the OP’s suggestion.
Armor should not be gated as heavily as this. Laurels, karma, empyreal fragments, dragonite ore, augur stones (skill points), deldrimor steel and elonian leather, in addition to the massive amounts of cloth needed was really over the top already. This is just plain silly at this point.
I agree. I did the same and feel very stupid too.
On the other hand, this move virtually saved a complete meltdown of the t6 market. It makes ascended leveling very cheap. So while I’m angry too, I do understand the reason for it. It’s a smart move.
So it works on all slots in the bank, collections and 30 slot storage panes.
That’s a bit of a confusing statement. It works on any collectable. The ones you fill up by clicking “deposit all collectables now”. Gathered mats, dropped mats, minis, ascended mats, event mats etc.
The best reason to level right now is to be able to sell 1 bolt of damask at ~20g per day.
Being a massive hoarder, I cleared up at least one bank tab per expander. I’m a happy camper.
Two minis to rule them all;
One key to grind them;
Two minis to kill them all;
And in toilets bind them.
“Exotic armor pieces with the stat combos Rabid, Dire, Magi’s, Soldier’s, Cavalier’s, and Shaman’s now have a chance to salvage their insignia.”
So in short, the answer is: yes.
The most advanced and mature thread on this topic, where programmers literally stated how incredibly easy it is to create a TP remote buying bot, has been deleted. I’m still corresponding with Anet over this decision, which has brought this discussion back to the Stone Age of fingerpointing and tinfoil hat accusations.
TP Botting is very real. People won’t call it botting though; they’ll call it “creative condoned use of the unofficial API”. Which comes down to the same thing. While they’re watching tele their lil’ script fully manages their instant TP buy offers on 100+ items (while alerting them of sweet opportunities on the fly).
This video still cracks me up when I see it. The guy who made this is a genius.
It’s a semi-serious heartseeker spam spoof vid:
Look. I sold my precursor to get a legendary.
That’s right.
The thing is, you need gold to get more of it. The more you have, the higher your profit per day. Within a month I think I’ve converted 330g to 2k gold. Your call of course, but be aware that most legendaries cost about 2k gold in total to make.
Runestones is the worst possible idea ever. That requirement won’t change. Other prices will. Buy low when you can. If you’ve invested it all in runestones and the lodestone you need for your legendary tanks to 10 silver each next week, how are you quickly going go buy them all? With runestones?
100% droprate of karka shells from veteran karka is intended. They announced that a while ago during the lost shores event I think.
This can be a lot cheaper:
- refine hardened leather squares, ori and gossamer first.
- craft cheap sigils/ runes if you can. Some may take you to 440 (similar to potion of ghostslaying for artificer)
- refine ascended mats from 450-475
- salvage dungeon armor for dire/shaman’s etc when the patch is live for cheaper exotic insignia.
Whatever you do, try to avoid using gossamer. You shouldn’t need it in large quantities.
The only unique “worthwhile” item was the dolyak, but It looks bland compared to the gemstore version that was brought out simultaneously. It’s just so….wrong.
This was the perfect opportunity to make effort/skill count. Not some 1 week thing, no it required weeks of dedication and coordination in the face of hour-long queues.
The ball was dropped on this one. Hard.
Bump for greater justice.
The OP’s post is so mindblowingly constructive I would have at least expected some form of official feedback for his days and days of work on this. Some form of recognition is in order.
Answer: yes, way more.
Other than that, what about MF boosters, banners, food? We’ll need those to open chests?
So unless there is a required fashion show in-game, I believe nothing is “requiring” us to grind.
Except, you know, ascended gear.
I do agree with some of the OP’s sentiment that the attention and focus in this game has shifted too much to the gemstore. We need to regain a healthy balance again.
Account bound gemstore dyes, and skill-based exclusive armor skins would be a leap in the right direction. Let Evon go on a well deserved holiday for a while, give our wallets and our naive notion of integrity some time to catch up with the flurry of gemstore activity of the last three months.
It’s simply gemstore overkill now.
Shakes head…
It’s okay for weapon skins and precursors to be ridiculously expensive, but not minis.
Actually that’s working as intended.
A high precursor price leads people who (therefore) can’t afford a legendary to the gemstore for an exclusive skin alternative.
A low mini price, particularly in the rare/exotic range, stimulates people to start collecting because now the end goal of completing the full mini set suddenly seems reachable.
Yes it’s possible I did this a lot a few months ago. It’s cheaper to use dungeon weapons though.
I’m happy too even though I don’t have t3 human armor but did buy the flamekissed set.
But can we please not have 9 threads just on the flakekissed armor adventure in the small BLTC section of the forum?
Edit: it’s also duplicative of:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Thank-you-Anet-for-listening/page/2#post3279265
In the general section there are about 6 more threads about this about virtually the same stuff.
(edited by Buttercup.5871)
A flaming mankini would be even better.
Your biggest cost to level up those crafts will be the insignias. The remaining cost will be negligible in comparison, with tailor bring the most expensive of the three not having access to level 400 to ~430 through refining hardened leather sections.
You’re welcome.
Yes! Either that or a flaming bathing suit.
Or, if you really can’t do a flaming bathing suit (why, why???): a flaming inquest top, flaming starter skirt, flaming winged boots, and the gloves and helmet “as-is”. That combination rocks. It really does. Note: you’ll have noticed this comment relates to female characters only.
A bathing suit!
Pwetty please???
