The likely scenario is that gemstore skins rise once we have a lull in gemstore activity – allowing people to recuperate their wealth and spend coin on luxury items, which includes skins and dyes. Another possible scenario is that people completely focus on legendaries and leave everything else aside for a while, including skins and dyes. It’s really difficult to tell right now

You only focus on what is “taken away”. Did you ever consider that PvP was dying and its environment had become downright toxic? You need new blood, and you need it yesterday. This is the best thing they could have done to ensure longevity and sustenance of a solid PvP community. We have nothing to gain from a shaky raging PvP community that tears apart every time the devs tinker with class balance. We need a solid foundation, and I truly believe they’ve done the right thing to create one. A rank finisher is worth nothing if you’re queuing 30 minutes just to use it.

They will be deleted. The mats you salvage? Deleted as well. Glory boosters? Deleted. You have no glory left for armor/weapon tokens? Tough luck. One year of salvaging and daily/monthly rewards down the drain.

I’m not even kidding. These are the answers. It’s that bad.

So the accomplishment of acquiring t3 armor effectively locks out all your other characters from wearing that (ascended) armor? Unless of course you’re willing to spend 6 charges every time?

So we will be able to share ascended armor between our characters now. This is great.

But what if that armor is skinned with t3 cultural armor? Do I have to use 6 charges just to wear that armor on another character of a different race? And then again 6 charges to wear it on the original character and reskin it to t3 cultural armor?

I think this is ridiculous. I want purchase armor tokens so I can actually use my PvP materials. Stacks of dust, crystals, orbs, and slivers are useless now without the ability to buy them. A year of effort of salvaging PvP weapons = gone.

You can stop fuming. The ready-up explained you’ll be rewarded for every level you gained. So if you’re 70 already, you’ll get all the chests until 80, and then lvl 80 chests for every 20k rank points you earned. Similar to PvE where you rank up and gain a skill point while staying 80. Everyone will be rewarded appropriately, no matter what rank you are.

I am, however, deeply disappointed that all the materials I salvaged for over a year are wasted without the glory to by the armor tokens I need. For example, I destroyed nearly all my light armor pants just for the chance of getting a light armor pants token that I can’t buy anymore because I have no more glory.

How do we do this now that glory has been removed and the final components can’t be purchased anymore? Is there some temporary way to obtain item tokens so I can finish crafting my leftover materials?

Please answer this as well. I can’t imagine the hundreds of thousands of PvP mats that will just wash away because people have no means to use them because they don’t have the gear or consumable tokens.

I’m flabbergasted at the amount of awesome changes you flung at us these last days. All the major changes we wanted, and expressed through the CDI and feedback threads, all these huge changes. You made it happen.

I take my virtual hat off to your awesomeness. You actually listened. I’ve spent 10 years in MMO-land, and I have never seen a company make such big changes to its game as a result of player feedback. This is is an absolute novelty, and I hope people realize this is not a given. And yes, it means work, work, and then some more work on Anet’s part to make stuff like this happen.

Gemstore items is your best bet. Either the three minis, which are likely to be replaced, or the lovestruck weapons (as tormented skins are bound to crash, too expensive for too long, it’s been an unhealthy cycle thus far).

Oh man I laughed out loud at that finisher! This is my new favorite, props to the dev that made it. It’s bloody awesome!

I tried to control a limited recipe market once, just for fun, but only really succeeded once I actively pulled others in (that I did not know) by dumping a substantial amount of recipes in their buy orders. They then pushed the price up with gold I didn’t have yet. Pushing a market alone takes a lot of gold and patience.

So in theory rune prices should plummet because of less demand.

Sigils should rise in price because you now can equip 2 in a 2h, so demand should nearly double, resulting in higher prices.

One rune? Dude, that’s only in PvP, where runes and sigils are free anyway.
In PvE it remains the same, i.e. you need 6 runes for the 6 piece bonus. Or 7 if you count the aqua breather.

The item is clearly the worst in the cash shop and sets a precedent nobody wants. Whatever you call that, P2W or cash-shop grabbing, or simply shooting your paying customer base in the foot by releasing the same item which is infinitely better for no reason other than making more $$$, the result is ultimately the same. And Anet not responding to these concerns is as bad as communication to one’s paying customer base gets.

@video, did you check John’s statement on things being acquired in several ways, etc. and actually think about what he meant by it? Whenever you see that, think “the forge.”

Shredded rags salvage into about 2 jute scraps. Jute can be upgraded into wool, one bolt of which is currently around 7 silver. Every price on the TP has a reason. People don’t push for high prices if there is no demand to match it (bolts of damask requiring bolts of wool). Every price is part of a circular system that is driven by demand. Which brings me to your statement about silver doubloons believing the price of that item being “OK”. I’m sorry but I can’t align that thought with your other statements. At all.

In your system, people would sell rags for low prices not knowing that they have a lot more value than they know. It allows for people to be used, ripped off, simply because they don’t know about the forge upgrade system. No, no I really don’t like that prospect at all.

Maybe the March sale will include exclusive dye kits. I would not be surprised in the least if this is done; in fact, it would make sense. Those dyes are similar to Kasmeer’s staf, Rox’s bow and quiver, or any other limited item from this season.

And let’s say I still have a ton of PvP crafting materials.
Let’s assume I need to buy consumable tokens, for example, to use up the majority of my forge materials efficiently.

No. I’ve been trading BL skins for a while. The prices are unhealthy. They won’t hold. They are, simply put, too high. None of the skins survived these high prices. None. (Fused skins don’t count because they were initially introduced through a different system and were never 1 ticket to begin with).

EU, SFR here. Haven’t been able to complete the event either. It’s the same story as with the marionette, played it about 20 times, but my server (whether main or overflow) simply kept failing. It’s so annoying not to be able to complete content through no fault of your own.

I know. But this should have had some sort of compensation as well. It’s like paying for something with money, and getting coupons in return. But the person writing out the coupons failed to mention they have an expiry date.

I am certainly not the best thief out there, not even close, but good eles are my bane. That damage, wow. I get three shotted, sometimes 2 shotted in tournaments. I know it’s a mechanic you gotta dodge and all, but wow, that damage can be insane.

Is there a way to lure mobs on them? Aggro mobs, move slowly to afk group, stealth?

Yea I am trying to burn through the 125+ boosters that I got from BL chests like mad but it’s just not working. In addition I get new glory boosters every day so I’m back at 123 boosters.

You have to realize not all good intentions lead to good results. I mean, what is worse than having a cool mini that, upon receiving it, you can’t use because you do not want to stand out for the reason it was given to you in the first place (and you certainly do not want people’s pity)? Yet, at the same time, how does it make you feel not using such a special gift when you know no one else has it but wants it? All you’d do is put someone in an impossible position every time they log in.

Yes. My epilepsy ranks as an unseen disability, but I did not enjoy how I was treated after throwing it down in IT class when I was a teenager (I was never allowed on a computer in school again). I did not enjoy it when, with resulting injuries still apparent on my face, my friends and acquaintances seemed to melt into the background for an entire week until I looked “normal” again. My grandmother has been using a wheelchair for a long time now, but when she first started, it was astonishing how people suddenly started talking over her, asking whichever family member was helping her whether she (my grandmother) wanted a cup of tea or not. Such people usually got told to ask my grandmother directly. A wheelchair is not something which writes someone out of existence. Nor is any disability.

And to the point of the mini. I like the idea of a mini Taimi, because she’s cool, full stop ( regardless of if she keeps making me think Cait Sith). I don’t need to donate to charity by way of purchasing said mini – I kinda think we should do that anyway, without a mini being involved simply because it’s the right thing to do – but it doesn’t hurt if a percentage of proceeds goes directly to an appropriate charity – or how about a day or weekend where any gem purchase outright has a percentage donated (but there should still be a mini Taimi!)?
