The problem with the TP interface is that its extreme user-unfriendliness feeds the popularity of the third party programs. Those programs are so advanced, it’s disturbing. I refuse to use them, still, but a case can almost be made that they should be allowed. Almost.

So, I’ve been playing this game since beta. I’ve bought keys to chests, and many of those chests rewarded me glory boosters. Those boosters didn’t come with an expiration date.

Now, I’m being told I can not use those boosters after 18 March. They cannot be used anymore. That’s not cool for several reasons. I’ll name two:

(1) It’s not cool to me (and many others like me) buying those chests and getting an item I cannot use after random date X, Y or Z. Timewise, it is literally impossible for me to use all those boosters before 18 March; and

(2) It’s not cool to the many, many regular s/tPvP players who did all their dailies/monthlies, and got rewarded with something that will have no value very soon. The s/tPvP community is livid about this, and rightfully so.

Nonetless, this discussion is meant to only focus on number (1), above, which is why I’m posting it in the BLTC section. I bought those chests with cash. And yes, I believe that’s relevant.

Simply disabling all glory boosters after 18 March – without offering any suitable replacement – is not a reasonable solution to this issue.

This. People with a disability, a genetic condition, or even people that are temporarily in a wheelchair because of an accident, usually just want one thing: to be treated normally, like everyone else.

I feel you, you read something that moved you, and you want to do something. Well, you can. Next time when you’re in a crowded subway, train or tram, take your eyes off your phone and check if others need your seat more than you do. That’s a huge leap forward in thinking. And actually seeing the world around you.

I like fadeaway’s proposal to introduce a mini Taimi, the proceeds of which are used for MS research. That’s entirely at the discretion of Anet though.

Let me get this straight. Your theory can mean three things.

Either Scarlet is trying to get to the bloodstone/keystone. Bubbles wants it, but there’s a lot of stuff blocking the way when Zhaitan arose Orr form the depths of the ocean. Scarlet’s “energy probes” work similar to the “asuran device” used in Arah, path 4:

Says on the wiki Doric had a summer estate in LA. And that two remaining stones (a bloodstone and a keystone) are assumed to have ended up in Tyria.

I don’t think the OP’s theory is that crazy. Hey, maybe that’s even how Zomorros got access to all them bloodstone shards Myani is selling.

I saw the totems too. Both this and the totems were manipulation. Been going on for a long while. Still legit though. Nothing you can do about it. Only Anet can. They can manipulate the manipulators by adapting their content. Anet intervenes all the time though, which is why I don’t worry as much.

That’s impressive. If indeed it’s one player he/she paid nearly 1k gold just in listing fees.

Anet has a vested interest in sprockets rising in price now. It shows those players that bought the pick they paid for something “valuable”. Since in essence nothing has value in Tyria, this is a neat trick.

The next pass will also include an azurite node. Mark my words.

Not so long anymore. I think they were released on 4 Feb for a period of 4 weeks. So the price goes to 5 tickets on Tuesday, 4 March.
The TP prices are healthy now, for this part of the cycle, as opposed to before.

I am always short of fragments, dragonite ore and dust, believe it or not. And I play a lot. There’s lots of uses for them, you know. Especially with several characters.

This guy just opened 500 chests and only got 5 caithes and 2 Scarlets. So I guess the droprates are very low.

The droprate of Marjory and Mai Trin appear to be too high though.

The cost is absurd. The recipes should have been 1 elonian leather, 1 bolt of damask or 1 deldrimor steel, respectively. Not 5. It’s utterly absurd, no one is served by such a high cost on those recipes. Who in their right mind would lay down 5 bolts of damask for a buff that must be picked up within 5 minutes? That’s over 70g in damask alone, leaving the cost of the t6 dust aside.

On 21 January, all they said was “Rare minis are now much rarer from Black Lion Chests”. Caithe and Scarlet were the only 2 rare minis in the BL chests. So they were not removed at that time. I presume that, now, they are removed. But it’s unclear.

I just checked out the place with a temporary pass drop and compared it with the Royal terrace.

First off, it looks great. I mean, you’re really up there, in the air. It’s beautiful.

The downside is that the placement of all the NPC’s is far more apart than in the Royal Terrace. And that the Trade Post is looking is deep inside the ship, where the view is not as pretty. An additional upside is that it holds two additional NPC’S: a southsun survival NPC and a trait resetter. A trait resetter is of course great. Maybe there is more but I’m heading off to bed now.

Is this in addition to the mini Caithe and mini Scarlet, or does this replace them? The latter seems more logical to me (replace) but it’s just not very clear from the patch notes.

Also: are these new minis in the chests already, given that all the other new BLTC items are not available in the store yet?

He didn’t say it was a bug, he a bot. It’s purely trade related, too, hence the BLT section.
But anyway, the point is moot because Anet gave warnings about this. It’s no longer allowed to discuss this topic. My comments therefore end here.

@wanze: that thread invites players to report area botting, not TP botting.

Given the position the OP previously advocated, I think he is showing us the tip of the iceberg. I also note that previous threads like these have been removed. If this thread would be removed as well, that would be a shame, given that the OP was the biggest opponent of such TP bot reporting on the forum in the past. Something major must have happened, or is happening, that prompted him to post this here.

What concerns me more is that all jewelcrafting materials went down – gold, silver and platinum ore – while all high level cooking mats went up.

The closest is probably the killer whale quaggan backpack. It’s grey and white. Other than that, the light of dwayna could work, but there is some blue in that as well. I have it myself (both actually) and I’m quite happy with how well light of dwayna combines with everything. I hadn’t expected that.

Just let people sell empyreal stars and dragonite ingots on the TP already. That way they still have to craft, but the grind goes down significantly for those who lack these mats.

People with an unlimited royal terrace pass (me, me, and me. Did I say me?) always have the forge at their fingertips anyway.

If you’ve done the dungeon 10 or more times, you start getting efficient. And they’re designed to be done more than 10 times. Try and get a dungeon set doing it 3 times.

The prices are not at their low at the moment. The prices were never healthy (read: low) enough for that. I expect them to drop after the event.

So 100k karma for about 250 linen? No thanks.

Looking at early artwork (Daniel Dociu) I think the vigil keep is only a temporary hub. Afterwards, we’ll move to the Black Citadel. From there, we’ll flee massively, using zephyrite ships, to Cantha.

Listen, if you want to know the future, all you have to do is study the past. Daniel Dociu’s drawings of around 2008 show you Scarlet, the airships, the dragon, the marionette and much, much more. And in interviews of around that time, he gives a few hints of what’s going to happen. It’s huge. LA is really just the start.

Yepp .. there are not that much people running the train these days on my server. Since i farm Arcodus around the troll and kill Troll now and then when i see the train, i’ve noticed that indeed.

Are you also farming grawl by the thousands, by any chance? Because those elaborate totems just don’t seem to rise in price. Ever. I mean, every t6 price rises, even the t5 totems doubled in price, yet the t6 totems remain at the same price. It was odd the last time round (when someone created a thread on the continious low price of t6 totems), but now it just doesn’t add up anymore.

I know. I (the OP) just spent a fortune to get these recipes (for myself, although this is irrelevant). This was after refreshing my buy offers for days on end, which were very rarely, if ever, filled. While it would be good if they’d increase the droprate, or make them drop in the next event, those who bought these recipes would feel pretty duped if their prices suddenly vanished into nothingness. I just hope this thread will be read and used as a lesson for the future.

Or it could be in anticipation of the ole’ precursor crafting. I mean, it has to come some day, right? Should be sooner rather than later I guess.

You know that Scarlet is going to be gone in a month right? No more invasions and such? No more Scarlett’s lair. No more sprockets. Only from the pick. And the pick probably provides 0.1% of the current supply.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record here, even if the sprockets quadrupled in value (which they are unlikely to do, given their limited uses and the various ongoing avenues of obtaining them), we’re still talking about well over 10,000 uses before the item “pays for itself” so to speak.

Your base premise is wrong.

You clearly have never tried to sell any of the runes or sigils that require sprockets. Do you even have the recipes? Well, I do. And I can tell you that each one of them sells well, and relatively fast. There is a huge demand for these.

Now let’s calculate a bit. 1000 runes = 250k sprockets. 1000 watchwork mechanisms = 500k sprockets. 1000 sigils = 250k sprockets.
There, we only made 1000 sigils, runes, and armor insignias or weapon inscription. Which is peanuts compared to the demand for them.
Yet we already used 1 million sprockets.

Edit: I forgot to add sprockets for a bit of jewelry. But you get the picture.

I think the OP asked a really valid question which, in light of the continuing controversy on the watchwork pick, quite deserves an answer. People spent big bucks on these picks, it’s not exactly charity work to answer it.

I am well aware of those rules, and did not break a single one of them. And please, while I love the game as much as you do (and value Gaile’s helpfulness as much as you do), you are not Anet’s enforcement agency, your comments and tone to me are entirely inappropriate and do not foster a healthy discussion (and as such do break the rules, which I will not report, but I will request that you change it accordingly). Other than that, I stayed fully on topic, as I argued that – in the absence of a response on the place to which customers are redirected – this has purely become an issue falling within the realm of account support.

In essence, in the absence of a response and/or discussion from the devs on the BLTC forum, the situation has changed and the absence of a response itself has become both an account issue and an account-related issue.

Please keep in mind that there are people who spent up to €100 euros on this (see the BLTC forum, this not a fictional amount). A mere “sorry, file a complaint elsewhere” doesn’t cut it if those complaints are, or appear to be, subsequently ignored. I really can’t summarize the latter phrase any nicer; there is no response despite there being multiple threads asking for one.

Listen, if you buy something in a store, and you later feel you’ve been scammed, you go to the store, right? So let’s say you enter the store, and you tell your story to the lady at the front desk (Gaile), and you ask for a refund. Now, she’s kindly telling you to write a letter with your complaint, to be sent to point A (BLTC forum). Which is what you do, right? But after a while, when you don’t get any letters back, what do you do? You go back to the lady that directed you to point A, and tell her that you did exactly as she told you, but you’re not getting any response. And you tell her again, politely but more firm this time, that you really want that refund.

That is what is happening here. And I completely understand it.

I think no fantasy game should be without same sex relationships, actually. Relationships are a reflection of what happens in reality. I don’t want only part of that reality, I want it all. Too many companies feel they need to surrender to homophobia, because they fear it doesn’t sell. I think that is gutless, but more importantly, the relationships in those games become downright shallow.

Kasmeer and Marjory’s story is arguably the greatest strength in Anets living story altogether; they’re the only ones that make it shine.

It will go on sale two weeks before the introduction of the more efficient ect-o-matic. And since the latter will have a different icon, you will not get a refund. Or an upgrade.

I think the problem is: Gaile is really all we’ve got. And I recall very well that each time Gaile got involved into a gemstore related controversy (e.g. Flamekissed armor, free account-bound upgrades for soulbound infinite harvesting tools), the right decision was made. So I agree with you that absolute courtesy is required (as always, but especially here), but I don’t agree that people are not entitled to ask questions or post responses here. Particularly when they feel they really have nowhere else to turn to.
