This was the most fun I’ve had in a long time in WvW. Respect for both YB and SoS for a fantastic match. Tsym – show us your best next week. Or better, come back to your old server

I never said not to do any of what you described, I said not to take ‘everything’ and that the enjoyment factor between those being outmanned and those doing the outmanning are linked. If you take everything, post screenshots on the forum bragging about it, then you are going to have less people to fight. If you leave each enemy with something to fight over, they will keep coming out and having fun, which in turn is fun for you.

I agree posting a screenshot of a 695 ppt isn’t the best approach as its nearly impossible to reach that score if ANYONE is opposing you.

To the poster who expected more from TSym, not sure I understand what you mean. We seem to always get blamed for something so just curious. Drop your guild name and we’ll try to oblige.

Agree. It was fun battling YB – had some great battles. Even though they show last on the scoreboard, they have all my respect for the way they battled this week. You guys are tenacious! I’d like to see more of YB in T3.

As for SoS, I expected more, especially from Tsym. They had some very talented players when they left DB. But I guess they were hit by an exodus… hope you recover well from it.

No smearing here. Elephant Ambush [EA] – Has been on Dragonbrand since day 1 and was there for our fall down the tiers after the mass exodus to SoS. Dragonbrand has fought back up and have finally gotten a shot at SoS again after the demolition at their hands the same week we lost our WvW guilds.

There’s also an [EA] on Yak’s Bend apparently lol.

Act 2 was fantastic. The labyrinth was amazing, and both the PVP games were a lot of fun.

Anecdotal evidence. I’ve got a win streak of over 30 with some random costume from the cauldron.

Either you’re lying real hard… or you don’t know how a win streak looks like because the win streak is capped at 25, after which you do not get anymore streak for you kills. it does however still add to you achievement progress.

He’s referring to Win streaks, not the number of hits.

Win streaks are bundled. I had 8 win streaks (translates to 8*25 "hits) before I was knocked down by a friend. I could see that number where you see your boons.

Just seems like a lot of people are mad because they aren’t getting a virtual reward out of this.

Makes me feel kind of old when i say this but when i first started MMOs it was just fun to see things that were different when an event would happen.
Check out the atmosphere and explore with friends.

Even minor details would seem cool (like the bard who is singing about Mad King Thorn or exploring further with the priory and finding clues about more events to come)

Now it’s just a matter of vanity. It feels like the event could be stacked to the brim with things to do but if someone didn’t get an item then the whole thing is labeled as “garbage”.

I know I’m a minority on this but it’s sad to see that without something to show off that no one can enjoy the investment of the time put in.

Feel even worse for any designers who put thought into cool little additions around the world that just go unnoticed. Oh well….flame away…

Agree. Kudos to Anet for doing a great job with the Halloween theme, and new events. The new content was great!

The complainers need a mindset change from typical MMOs – we need to realize that all this content came for free, and nobody asked anyone to spend any money. You can have as much fun, without spending any money. All items are available for gems that could be bought with in-game gold.

Just wanted to note as said in another thread that plenty of us older , working , casual folks (and I be even lots of younger non casuals :P ) , think it’s fine to have rare items in the game that will be few and far between to get or be seen.

Some of us enjoy variety , seeing that person with the extrodinarily good luck with an incredible weapon skin very few have , or those folks with tons of time to farm some item and craft and then get to show off what they earned.

Since early EQ days , I much preferred having actual rare and interesting things in game that not everyone can or will get.

And as many others have noted on here , plenty enjoy the event as it , getting to take it in when they can , and if they can’t not whipping about the gimme gimme gimme tears.

So just wanted to note AN , there are plenty of us “casuals” who think it’s fine as is , don’t think everyone needs everything , and like the Halloween event.

The fact is, a rare drop is a rare drop. It should be rare. In subscription MMOs, you have to run a whole dungeon for a chance at a drop of less than 1%. This way, you get the chance at the drop for some real world cash – which, chances are, is a lesser investment than grinding a dungeon.

It’s the nature of aiming for rare drops. The low drop rate means a higher value for those drops that do get out there. Consider it a lottery where you win a big prize, or nothing. You are massively more likely to get nothing, even if you buy dozens of tickets.

The trick they missed, I feel, is giving out intermediate prizes. (The equivalent of the $10 prize). They could have upped that number of rewards without affecting the value of the uniques.

Coron on DB was good, before his guild moved to a different server. I haven’t enjoyed following most others on DB, though.

So much hate directed against my server here (DB). I’m thinking what I did wrong, except choosing a server and sticking with it, playing regularly, and contributing at least 100 badges of honor by dying to mostly skillful opponents from other servers…

Anyway, all the best for your next one, folks, and hoping for less drama when we meet the next time. We’ll have newer players by then, once we fill the vacuum left by leaving guilds, and hopefully give you a better match.

This is still bugged on Dragonbrand. Please correct that.. TIA
