They’re not dropping down and only rising cause Karma is lacking. 1 mil karma is not easy to come by these days.
You get karma when doing a lower level than your personal reward. It’s an incentive for ‘helping out’.
Depends. They’re both viable but good at different things. For example, mes is arguably the strongest 1 on 1 class in the game. Their one weakness? Thieves.
In PvE Thieves have higher DPS, and shadow refuge can be incredibly useful in some dungeons, to bypass some tougher parts. Mesmers have some of the best utility in the game (portal, timewarp, veil…), to the point where most serious dungeon runs take 1.
In WvW Thieves are better at roaming, while Mesmers are better as power multipliers in Zergs.
In PvP mesmers are generaly more used as duellers while Thieves are roamers/assassins.
At the end of the day: why choose? Get both.
Pretty much this. Also note that Thief has the best 1on1 DPS in the game atm. While Mesmer DPS is pretty crap (probably one of the lowest in the game). Groups only take Mesmers cause their utilities are so godlike and unmatched by any other class.
You should’ve seen this when the game was just released. Teleport skills used to do this all the time. I was playing Mesmer staff, and I couldn’t even use skill #2 cause it would make me go swimming. Glad they fixed it though. I’m guessing the same problem is with this map atm, not good enough collision boxes.
Not only that, but you need at least 60-65 AR to survive at fractal level 50. Not many people have that yet.
After the silk will come to 2s per piece or before?
Anet will decide to maintain this unfair price difference between the ascendant pieces?
Anet will decide to maintain this unfair time difference between the various ascendant armor?Just a couple of numbers of the current situation:
Silk scrap 79 c required 300 = 2 g 37s
Mithril ore 30 c required 100 = 30s
Thick Leather Section 8 c required 150 = 12sp.s. : Plz, don’t say us that this was not predictable
Just a correction, Anet doesn’t dictate prices. Players do. As Renn said, the changes to Silk refinement, plus the huge demand for them in Ascended crafting is what drove the prices sky high. With how Ascended weapon mats were refined, people should have known this would happen. Speculators are bleeding Gold with how much prices went up.
Sounds to me like anet is dictating prices, they know we want ascended armor, and they dictate the materials needed for it.
Tailor and Artificer are both good ones to have, for making your armor+weapon sets. Jeweler isn’t really needed as the best jewelry in game can be gotten through other means: Laurels, Fractal of the mists (dungeon).
My personal recommendation is to stick with those 2 crafts.
If the Karma armor is below level 80, yes. Else you need to use a level 80 transmutation crystal.
And why is minor and superior sigil of generosity at 14g, but major sigil is at 1g?
I agree, we need more things to with them, they are completely useless to loads of players atm…
Really, why don’t they let them be sellable via the Trading Post. Problem solved.
This would be a good solution. I lack a lot of dragonite but have loads of bloodstone dust. Would be nice to sell my excess and get the dragonite I need, without having to change my current playstyle (i.e. doing things I don’t enjoy in this game just to get a certain reward).
They should just remove the time-gated thing. It already costs a lot of gold to craft it any way. What’s the point in time-gating it? Rich people will just buy the mats off TP anyway and get it on day 1.
Are you talking about gw1? Because I prefer that method over the gw2 one.
gw1: Get someone to run to the end (for a small fee, equivalent to about 1g in gw2 money), infuse your entire armor.
gw2: Spend 9128391718912371 gold.
Armorsmithing
1x Putrid Essence + 1x Orichalcum Ingot from 425 to 475
your welcome
Doesn’t give exp after 450 anymore.
A day in the life of a Desolation Mesmer:
I killed stuff, then I died. I used WP, and killed some more stuff.
Yes, that is what I was talking about. Discovering them all would net you a good 10-15 levels, but if you’ve already discovered them then you’re sore out of luck.
Maybe you didn’t see my post. It’s the one immediately above your post.
I did, but they only reset exotic recipes. Not fine/masterwork/rares.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Crafting#Crafting_experience indicates not exotic items don’t give xp if your crating level is 40 higher than the required crafting level. Which means any rare below required level 410 (when at 450) won’t give xp when discovered. At least that is how I remember it working and always see/read works, unless very recently that changed. Which is why I’m confused.
You don’t get exp for crafting them no, but you do for discovery. Like I said, discovering them all will net you a good 10-15 levels.
I like how people are contradicting me with data from websites, when I’ve leveled all my crafts this way for really cheap.
Silver league 2nd spot rewards (some ppl got worse, some better, they had to include RNG even in this one):
8 greens
3 yellows
500 luck
some wxp
9 lvl scrolls
5 skillpoint scrolls
mini dolyak
100 dragonite and empyreal fragments
That’s the exact same reward as the 1st place reward that I got.
Disappointed to the max.
250 charges of the finisher
Mini dolyak
5 skill points
10 levels
1 exotic
3 rares
rest greens
I got the mini set 2 achievement and made some profit in the process. I just bought them all with buy order from TP and listed them after I got the achievement. Mini set 2 is much cheaper to get than mini set 1 though. I think this is the fastest way to get it if you have a large enough gold pool. Because finding people that will let you “borrow” their mini’s is gonna take a while.
I get this bug when I run inside the room too fast, I always fix it by running out of the circle and then running back in (subsequently, you could try running outside the room and then running back in the circle). Does this solve the problem for you too, or is it a permanent thing where the circle just won’t pop?
This is the funniest thread I’ve seen in a while haha
An SSD helps a lot. More RAM definitely helps. I had 4 GB memory earlier, and have installed an extra +8GB for 12GB Ram in total and I’ve noticed a HUGE decrease in loading times.
Setting visuals and stuff to lower setting will also reduce loading times. If you don’t want to expand your computer (cause this obviously costs money), reduce the visual settings in options.
The option that has the most impact on loading times is the one that has the options of: Native, Subsample and Supersample. With Native obviously having the smallest loading times, but also making your graphics look really crap.
Just keep this in mind: Less visual stuff to load = less loading times.
If anything, you can just set all settings to lowest quality while you’re champ farming, and then put it back to what you have now when you’re doing other stuff, so you can still enjoy the game fully in all it’s beautiful glory.

This armor.
From 475-490 craft fine/masterwork/rares for cheap levels.
I’m not sure I understand. All the fine/masterwork/rare level 80 recipes I have previously discovered are all grey. Which means you get no CXP from making them or discovering them. unless there are F/M/R recipes req400+ level to discover. I’d appreciate more detail on that. My goal is to avoid the ecto cost. I didn’t plan on using more ecto than the handful that was needed to get to 450.
I would assume he/she is talking about the bonus from discovering the recipe. So if you already discovered the recipes it wouldn’t help you. On the plus side if snowflakes are coming back this wintersday you can use them to discover their recipes (if you don’t have them already).
Yes, that is what I was talking about. Discovering them all would net you a good 10-15 levels, but if you’ve already discovered them then you’re sore out of luck.
1 max. Depending on the price. If it’s like weapons, where you have to craft 6 armor pieces @ 50g each, then I’ll highly consider skipping ascended armor all together.
You could make a stun heavy build, but it’s nowhere near the gw1 Mesmer. It’s a totally different class. Confusion is sorta like the old “Visions of Regret” elite skill. But it’s not as good here in gw2 as the condition is easily removed by all classes.
Also, Phantasms can be traited to bring a lot of pain. The best damage is from having 3 phantasms up, but like you said, that’s hard cause they die quite fast. Having 1 or 2 up is still good damage though.
The best build for Mesmer (at least in PvE) is to build for pure damage/precision and to trait for heavy hitting illusions. Also, try not to shatter them unless it would kill a group of mobs. There are Mesmer shatter builds that focus on quickly shattering illusions for damage, but having strong Phantasms up is a way more damaging build.
From 475-490 craft fine/masterwork/rares for cheap levels.
The mini is definitely accountbound. I can’t say much for the backpack, but I assume it’s accountbound too.
Short answer is no.
The problem with this skin wasn’t that it was cheaper than t3 cultural armor. It’s about the fact that races other than HUMANS could wear them.
$5,- for 1 level is pretty high though. I doubt many people would buy it.
This is why we have stun breakers and condition removals. It would only be OP if there was no counter to it. But there is.
I also heard that it was 0-5 ecto’s for exotics, though I’ve salvaged quite a few exotics and never have gotten more than 3.
Same reason why waypoints cost gold.
Silk drop like flies though, won’t be long before it will reach merchant value again. Especially if it’s time-gated to once a day.
I know this guy’s request is kinda absurd seeing as it has no basis or arguments. But, I don’t agree with people finding it strange that he’s asking for a warrior buff.
Warrior needs a buff imo, they’re not that good compared to other classes.
Cheapest way:
400-425 refining ori(then sell back the ingots to TP if you don’t need them)
425-450 discover sigils/potions (discover a few exotics if you REALLY have to)
450-470 refining ascended mats
470-490 discover EVERYTHING you haven’t yet, blues, masterwork, rares (especially rares)
490-500 Craft 3-4 exotics
I’ve done all 3 crafts with 0 materials in bank, and used about ~80g. Also worth mentioning that I sold all rares I crafted, but you can throw them in the forge or salvage if you like. You get a kittenton of rares, selling them yields no loss.
Also, if you craft exotics, check TP prices first. Some exotics can be sold for nearly the crafting cost (Rabid’s, Soldier’s, etc).

My shopping list:
Bolt of wool -> 145 stacks
Bolt of cotton ->75 stacks
Bolt of linen -> 125 stacks
Bolt of silk ->1360 stacks
Hardened leather section->240 stacks
Gossamer scrap -> 60 stacksAnd maybe I will buy some more.
That’s over 2000 inventory/bank spaces. Where the hell do you keep all this stuff? I would hoard the same, but I don’t even have the space for it. And that’s including the personal guild bank and 5-6 extra bank tabs.
I just bought some listed mini’s this way though. But yeah, can’t find them when searching and it shows “0”. Definitely a bug worth mentioning.
Bring back Fissure of Woe (Obsidian) armor!
You can get to the minis through your collection tab just chose buy more from the trading post and it will take you to the ah. You cannot buy the listed ones though.
I just bought some listed ones. Seems to work.
Resetting World Ability Points would be nice, yeah.
I want this staff! Sadly it’s not obtainable yet.
Buy the gift from TP, craft the crossing yourself. This is currently the best option there is as the recipe costs way too much.
You get 1 SP, after that you can make a Quartz thingy once a day. Basically it works like the other skillpoints spread across the world.
This ^^^^^^^^^^
I love the new armor they put in the gemstore, but I only want to use it for the pants for a few of my characters. I haven’t bought the new armorsets though, 800 gems is just too much for a single piece. Even if I would only buy it for 1 character.
I’m all for this, but I don’t see it get implemented.
Yes please… more RNG in this game. It doesn’t have enough yet.
But seriously. Food is fine as it is. I’d like to get some perm food though, that would be nice.
Head: hidden
Shoulders: hidden
Chest: Sorcerer’s Coat (tier 3 cultural)
Gloves: Phoenix Gloves (gemstore)
Legs: Winged Leggings
Boots: Phoenix Shoes (gemstore) – Can’t see it on the screenshot
Backpiece: Desert Rose
I hate it, because when trying to loot and spam “F” I stop mid path to try and finish foes off. It’s annoying. Make it so it’s a different key for looting and finishing and it would be fine (This would also solve that problem in WvW).
Edit: I didn’t know they had already implemented this feature. Awesome!
