I don’t have enough hands for the amount of facepalm I have for this thread… and my desk cannot contain the force of my headdesk…
how about a new formula to make them into “ascended buffs” or something. :p
The kinda like the food and oil buffs thing. That would likely be Chef 500
This is a really good idea.
Yes. Consuming pieces of or dust from the Bloodstone. There’s no way this can possibly backfire on the average creature’s digestive system.
Beat w2 and then go over to the w3 hut.
Here’s the thing…there is no hut for me. I beat Storm Wizard, get dropped in a pit with robbers and after that’s done I get thrown back out in the SAB hub.
I think he means the w3 hut in the hub.
2-1 has a part where you jump across an immense river on moving logs, rocks, and crocodiles. It’s Frogger.
There’s another part where you hop across logs falling down a waterfall. Something you see in Mario.
And 2-3 has a part where you have to turn on a bunch of lights, while rams bounce around to hit the switches and make it more difficult. Basically, it’s Qbert.
Actually, any items you put into a lockbox won’t be deposited when you hit “Deposit collectables”. So get an invisible bag, or a safe box, or whatever it is, and keep it in there. Bam.
Toss me on the list. 12 month old character, no present.
Yeah no present here either, despite character age saying 12 months.
Well nothing bad happened during the Super Adventure Box…
So WHY didn’t you open them?
Why didn’t you open them when you got them?
You need to take part in five of the major invasions to completion. Not the events that are part of the invasion (like it says) but the actual, region-wide, 45-minute invasion, and be there when it ends. Five times.
Took over fifty tries but I finally did it. And my build isn’t optimized for zerking or the like.
Class: Warrior
Traits: 30/30/0/0/10 (Didn’t change from normal setup) 5-7-11/1-7-12/3
Weapons: Mace/axe, Longbow (Bought the longbow just for this)
Utilities: Healing Signet, Banner of Strength, Signet of Stamina, Endure Pain, Signet of Rage
Consumables(Yes I used them): Quality Tuning Crystal, Speed Booster, Strength Booster, Armor Booster
Gear:
Armor: 2 Carrion, 2 Explorer, 1 Zerker, 1 Knight
Accessories: Syzygy, Ring of Red Death, Explorer’s Compass, minor trinkets, rare Cavalier backpiece.
Strategy:
Phase one was pretty simple. Lure the shades to their points, but don’t lure the third one until I destroy the coming orb. Just when I throw the third crystal, pop Signet of Rage and throw down the banner in the middle of the arena.
Phase 2? Run and shoot. Mainly staying close to the middle to avoid having to run too far. Occasionally pop skill 3 at an orb if I saw it. That was pretty much it.
On the other hand, the bugs can work in your favor. If someone does the fight with the guy and his pet before you, if you’re quick you might be able to grab a hunk of meat. And if someone does the match with the single warg before, you might be able to grab one or two strength-boosting orbs.
We are looking into what happened today. Captain Culling thinks he has found the culprit, but regardless we will fix this as soon as we can.
Wait a second…
…………….you have a guy named Captain Culling?
Daily.
Every day there is one Event-based achievement. Completing that counts for the meta.
I kinda don’t like this way of mandating doing the daily to get the meta but I can see what they were trying for.
Fun little game I thought we could try, let’s see how long we could get a song about Zergs going on. Try to keep the pattern.
Zergin’ zergin’ zergin’
All the live long day
The foes go pop
The bags they drop
And I get rich along the way
Cuz I’m…
Zergin’ zergin’ zergin’
Zergin’ while I slash and hack
If I die
I won’t cry
The mob’ll bring me back
Cuz I’m…
((What have you got?))
If the vote was so close 52%/48% meaning that the player base is clearly split in half about the voting.
Not making the second Fractal is like a huge slap in the face to half of the player base. Really? Half of the player base is meaningless.
Welcome to Democracy.
Honestly, I think that this image perfectly describes the situation now.
I’ll lay down my life for this mission
LFM: Acting as Bodyguards for Ellen Kiel
So your looking in an area were the assassins of ellel kiel would be hanging out? your making our job of infiltration and elimination extremely easy
Either A: That’s the plan or B: That’s the plan.
Interpret that how you will.
LFM: Acting as Bodyguards for Ellen Kiel
Pretty much, aye.
I HAD TO DO IT! DON’T JUDGE ME!!!
That should be Kiel’s head on the guy.
…..I suck at history, it was my worst subject.
EDIT: There, fixed the image. Happy?
(edited by Chessrook.8643)
I think the best part is the heralds announcing that Evon won. I feel like the attached pic just happened.
EDIT: Had to fix the image. The other one looked better, this one is more accurate.
(edited by Chessrook.8643)
WRONG! ELLEN WINS!
It’s like Dewey Defeats Truman!
Nah. I got my ascended gear and have over 150 laurels left. Granted I’m going to use them for rare mats for my legendary but still… it’s not really that bad. If you miss one day it’s no big deal.
Tarnished Coast. So active, it’s full 23:59/7! Good luck getting in!
Seriously, it’s a great server. Always active, always full, good community (And with it being the unofficial RP server you’re certain to get nice people), and we’re good in WvW too!
Also you don’t have to worry about losing anything. The only thing you lose is access to stuff purchased by the guild on the other server (If a guild was made in Jade Quarry, and you transfer to TC, you won’t be able to access the Guild Bank. It would have to be purchased again.). Aside from that, you lose NOTHING!!!!
I was voting until 3 tokens left and said votes were closed. That “keep clicking for each token” thing was a really bad system.
Frustrating as it is, I can see the logic. Less chance of going wrong.
Imagine. Someone decides to vote in bulk, but for some reason (Poor coding, mistyping the number, what have you) it only counts as one vote. 237 tickets wasted on a SINGLE vote.
Yeah. With the chance of that happening, I’d rather do the “One click one vote” option.
173 Ellen Support Tokens. I did my voting. Got 3 tickets left though, no idea what to do with them.
How about you? What have you got left?
For the same reason they don’t use MySpace I imagine.
Make a map too big, and it would be impossible to find anyone. Make a map too small, and it’s too easy to find someone.
Sticking to just the east shore seems fair.
I would’ve gladly paid gems for this option
Silence you fool! Don’t give them ideas!
It’s like saying don’t play anything that isn’t absolutely the most efficient thing…and yeah some people play that way, but many people don’t…probably most people.
Efficiency in an RPG isn’t as important as being happy with your character in an RPG to a whole lot of people.
Yes. Yes yes yes. So much yes. Yes to the thousanth degree. Yes times infinity. Yes. Hai. Si. Yes in other languages. For God’s Sake YES!!!! I cannot Yes this enough. YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
….sorry, the agreement got away from me there.
You go full zerker on your warrior character too, don’t you?
Am I the only one who never even notices if the loot drop is in a bag or a tiny wooden chest? Loot is loot.
I log on, in general, for about half an hour to an hour every day to do my dailies. Sometimes I do the metas and salvage the rares to get ectos for the Legendary I’m working on (Flameseeker Prophecies, for those curious). I make around 10-20 gold in a month. This may not be exact, and my funds were boosted recently by the gold boost from the Achievement Chests, but still, this is not an insignificant amount of coin, and from only about a half hour to an hour a day.
Sure it’s not the dozens and dozens of gold in CoF, and sure, I only have 100 gold stored in my bank since I started saving up for my legendary (And that was WITH occasional expenses to expand my Bank Storage Space) but yanno what? I’m fine with that. I don’t need it NOW.
Patience, and varied gameplay will get you what you want in time.
Also quick question. TC is full and It won’t let me transfer over. Is there anyway to work around this?
Wait. Or bribe someone to leave the server and then try and get in the moment he leaves.
That’s the unfortunate thing about being an active PvE server. Everyone comes to us, so we’re full. That, and when the big meta events happen (Like Fire Ele or the Maw), you’re lucky if the big final super special awesome mega ultra end boss lasts more than 60 seconds thanks to the massive horde of players.
Double edged sword it is. But I like it.
[The sun shines down on the stage, three podiums standing atop it before a throng of people. On one side stands Evon Gnashblade, counting out a few gems next to the podium. On the other side, Ellen Kiel is seen writing down something on a piece of parchment. A red-haired Asura in leathers walks up to the third podium. She stares at it for a few moments, then snaps her fingers. Rapidly, a human brings a large soapbox over and places it behind the podium. With a nod, the Asura climbs up onto the box, looking over the assembled throng.]
“Greetings, Ladies, Gentlemen, and Sylvari. I am Rikka and welcome to this question and answer for the candidates for the position of member of the Captain’s Council. Now we have all heard what they are offering, and we all know a bit about them. However, there is of course more we can know, and we have brought the candidates here to answer any questions you may have.”
[Rikka looks between the charr and the human for a few moments.] “Of course, the candidates are very busy, so in old Asuran tradition, please simply yell your questions out at them whenever you wish, and the candidates shall answer them whenever they get around to it. Provided they can make your question out over the mayhem.”
[The Asura takes out a large set of custom-made earmuffs and puts them over her ears.] “NOW BEGIN!” [She gestures, enabling the throng of people to bombard Evon and Ellen with a cacaphony of questions.]
So, Mr. Evon Gnashblade… I have two big questions for you.
First, you say you will be sponsoring research into the Fall of Abaddon. My question is, WHICH fall? The first, wherin the gods struck him down? Or the second, wherin he was slain at last and Kormir took his power?
Second, you are a Charr. Charr care not for Gods, let alone those of the Humans, so why do you care to sponsor research into an old human God? Your promise sounds fishy…
OK I just gotta say… having actually been able to see the zenith weapons now, they look BEAUTIFUL. I love them!
You think that’s something, wait until Orr where there’s at least one spot where a champ guards a Skill Point…
Female Asura Warrior. Because nothing says “Eff you” more than a cute 3-foot rabbit-creature that can cave your head in with a hammer bigger than she is.
@Chessrock
Good thoughts, mate. The only thing I believe you should consider is that you’re absolutely right. They can only nerf things so far. Once they’ve nerfed dungeons down to make about the same as perhaps farming, free roaming, wvw, etc. they won’t need to nerf anything anymore. In other words, they need to find the balance. Once they find the balance, no further nerfing will be required. Thoughts?
Pretty much exactly what I said. The main thought is that such a point is nearly impossible to reach with how big a game like this is, and how many factors can be involved. Effort, drops, end loot, player perception, etc. All of this is involved, and others I can’t think of. With something as complex as this, getting the exact perfection is like threading a needle from 70 yards. And the thread is attached to a rocket. Without any guiding wings.
Because of that you kinda have to settle for “Close Enough”. Sure there will be a LITTLE imbalance in efficiency, there will surely be something that all the grinders will flock to because it gets money better… but if it’s not tanking the economy in a horrible way, or inflating it in a horrible way, then it should be good.
Touche there. Really though, I think it should be left as is. There’s a careful balance, and do it too much and it’ll end up becoming a downward spiral. Nerf CoF? OK, people run to efficiently do CM. Nerf CM next? Fine they’ll run to AC. AC gets nerfed? Onwards to HotW they go! Fine then, let’s nerf that! And on and on it goes until finally they’re running ARAH because it’s the most efficient way to get coin. And THAT is something way too far.
Grinders gonna grind, it’s something you have to realize, and honestly as far as I know there hasn’t been that huge of a market crash due to how people are farming CoF. The market in fact seems fairly stable (Although I admit I don’t follow the market, I go by how much complaining there is on the forums) and the 10 gold an hour is, to my knowledge, mainly from the grinders who have nothing better to do than grind grind grind.
Plus hey, at least this way they’re all in their own little private instance and not cramming 60 people around that bridge in Kryta waiting for the Centaur to respawn. So there’s that.
How? THey’d just find another yanno.
If there’s one thing players are good at, it’s finding the most efficient way to get crap and then publishing it everywhere.
No no, this is not me complaining about what was never actually said yonks ago by an ANet employee, whoever it was (That we now know was never actually said). Instead, this is me realizing something.
So many MMOs out there… every one, in fact… when they release an expansion, it comes out six months, a year, maybe two down the line, with a load of content that gets finished in a week. At most, by the hardcore. And it’s supposed to be a lot of content too, meant to tide people over for ages.
GW2? The Living Story DOES give an expansion’s worth of content… over the period between when the game comes out, and that expansion would have released, doled out in bits over time. Sure parts of it disappear, like the storyline for F&F, but other parts stay… jumping puzzles, mini dungeons, and even Southsun, which got revamped just a few months after it was added, and this is to say nothing of balances or new mechanics. We ARE getting an expansion’s worth of content… just not all at once.
Oh, and this is one dungeon where bringing a bunker build helps immensely. Your DPS matters not at all so go all-in on survival.
This is where I get a trollgrin face at all those guys who constantly talk about how Full Zerker is the ONLY way to go.
Is this a Monty Python joke?
Testing testing testing….. I hear it does good things in the software business.
Yes we are doing a good job at testing. I think that the idea we are testing things and we post what is wrong and they fix it.
Wait, you don’t think ANet is in bed with GLaDOS, do you?
