pvp needs balance. pve does not. u fight NPC monsters in pve. why does that need balance

Do you want to end up One-Hit-KO’d by a boss if you’re a warrior?

Do you want to One-Hit-KO a boss if you’re an engineer?

This is why it needs balance.

They’re all very exploit capable. Just the teleport gun let everybody warp into dredge fractal cage, I cant imagine what ridiculous utility healing seed and molachevs brought.

I would much prefer they just delete these things however. It seems cruel to offer these cool things and then not have them work anywhere anymore. Not WvW, not dungeons, nowhere where people would benefit from them it seems.

How about in the main world which consists of around 80 percent of the total land area of the game, give or take?

Ran into Southsun to see what this addition was, and found it. Over by the “Kiel’s Outpost Waypoint” thre’s a couple dozen workers and various buildings under construction. Speaking to an Asura named “Subdirector Noll” reveals that it is “The future site of Camp Renewal”.

Even though it’s out of the way, and in an area that people haven’t really gone to, it really does help show what ANet intended with the long-lasting impressions of the Living Story.

I imagine they may soon start adding events there too.

So I was going through the Dead Drops, finding and reading them, and one of them caught me for a moment. The agent said that he caught the Molten Alliance talking about a new invention, combining Dredge Tech and Flame Legion magic. He only heard part of the name, “Kom-Pewe” before he was rushed away.

Think about the name for a moment, and what could be missing.

Dervish. Of all the classes from the original Guild Wars campaigns, the Dervish is the only one that doesn’t really have a specific similar class. I mean think about it.

Warriors, Necros, Eles, and Rangers are the same. Mesmers are similar, just switching from denial focus to misdirection. Assassins have become Thieves. Ritualists are similar to Engineers, with the various things they summoned, turrets and the like. And Guardians are almost like a combination Paragon and Monk. That just leaves the Dervish, an armored warrior with a scythe and a focus on enchantments.

People who have gotten every laurel every day should have somewhere between 60 and 70 (I forget the exact amount). It’ll be about one more month or so before people can buy it.

Also, the minipets should start showing up around the end of the week. So there’s that too.

Then someone told me that Lines of Warding don’t stop people with Stability.

Well it was an interesting idea, like this one. Zerg rush with oh so many and crush them with the lag. The issue is the low health of most of the zerg, and actually FINDING that many necromancers.

imo if there is a new soldier profession.

I can always wait with my third toon… but i can almost guarantee there wont be one…
How was it in GW1? were there any new profession after game release? (i dont know since never played the first one).

Prophecies was the main game and had six classes/professions: Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, Mesmer, Necromancer, Monk.

When Factions came out it added two new classes: Ritualist, and Assassin.

Nightfall added two MORE classes, the Dervish and the Paragon.

So yes, they did.

Wow, ok. So there is still hope, though we already have 8, and GW1 had only 6, so i see why it was possible in GW1, not sure about GW2.
I might actually wait. Thank you

Well at the same time, some of their classes are similar to current ones. Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, and Necromancer are pretty much the same. Mesmer changed from a hex-debuffing class to the class it is today. Assassins are basically thieves minus the stealth, and I’ve heard people compare ritualists to Engineers a bit. Paragons MIGHT be similar to the Guardian.

That leaves the Monk, typical healer class, and the Dervish, a scythe-wielding enchantment-based class. I dunno about you, but I’d like a good scythe-wielding Dervish whirling about.

Stacking: Good idea or bad idea?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Chessrook.8643

Chessrook.8643

So many times I’ve seen people say “Stack here” for a boss. So many times this seems to not go as well as expected. I mean ok, I can see some of the reasoning behind it, but it just seems like a poor idea to me.

Reasons to stack:
—Boss/enemies aren’t running around
—You know where the AOEs are happening
—Everyone in one place means speedy revives

Reasons not to stack:
—Since they’re usually stacked against a wall, you don’t always see when the AOEs are coming.
—Attacks usually hit EVERYONE at once.
—Most often, if one person gets downed, almost everyone else gets downed at the same time.

At least that’s how I see it. Seems like you’re putting too much risk on a tactic and I just don’t like it. Often times when people say “Stack here” I stay separate from the stack and plink at the guy with my rifle. And several times when that happened, the rest of the team died, leaving me to revive most of them at once with my Banner elite, or TRY to finish off the enemies.

What do you guys think about Stacking?

All dungeons have cheap-trick progression?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Posted by: Chessrook.8643

Chessrook.8643

My main skill for running is “Don’t be the first one to run”. Then the first guy gets all the aggro and I get to run behind him free and clear.

But seriously, I really prefer doing a dungeon legitimately, especially the first time. Every time someone says “Run by” I groan. Every time someone says “Skip by this boss” I get upset over the loss of a waypoint and loot. Every time someone says “Stack here” I sigh. I know people focus on speed and efficiency over completion but come on….

For the most part I tend to just silently follow… though sometimes I suggest fighting anyway or do something slightly different.

A thread here made to share your Hero Moments, or the Hero Moments of others. What is a Hero Moment you ask?

The chips are down. Man after man has fallen. The end is nigh. Evil is on the verge of success, and all is lost.

But wait! Over the horizon a hero comes! Or the soldier finds a last breath of strength! Or fortune turns in just the right way! The music reaches a crecendo, and a Hero is born, succeeding in a way that just has you pumping your fist and shouting “YES!”

That is a Hero Moment.

So tell us. When have you come to the rescue? Performed a great event that awes those around? Or seen someone do something astounding, that has you rising out of your seat and cheering at the success they have to have?

And no, game-made events like killing Zhaitan do not count.

No credit for Dolyaks?

in WvW

Posted by: Chessrook.8643

Chessrook.8643

This is something I’ve noticed for a while. Certain Dolyaks don’t actually give credit upon completing their trip, if the far end of it isn’t captured by the team that owns it. Confusing to understand, so let me give an example…

The Dolyak at Pangloss travels, normally, from Pang to Ogrewatch and on to Stonemist. However, often those who own Pang and OW don’t own SM. Because of this, the Dolyak moves back and forth between Pang and OW, running the whole way.

Here’s the problem. I have escorted this Dolyak between Pang and OW numerous times in the past when TC was red. Enough to upgrade half the tower from nothing sometimes, and sometimes more. Yet I NEVER get the “Event Succeeded” message. Only if I leave and run around elsewhere do I eventually get an “Event failed” message.

Now before anyone says anything, I know I’m not supposed to get coin or karma or anything for Dolyak escorting. What worries me, however, is whether this will affect World XP with the upcoming patch. And will the lack of events there cause a decline of WXP potentially gained by it?

Look I know. Botters and the like took the whole “escorting dolyak” thing to ridiculous levels and filled up the maps with mindless drones following Dolyaks for free loots for minimal reward. I guess I just want to know if we Dolyak escorters are going to continue to get shafted.

Or maybe I’m just rambling too much.

Rares. Lots of them.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Chessrook.8643

Chessrook.8643

The fact is these events were intended to be massive, difficult affairs. Chains of multiple events that would take a good amount of time and effort by several people to get to the end. The problem THEN was that the rewards were most often not worth the effort. The problem NOW is that there’s so many people cramming to these events that it’s making most of them too easy to do (In the case of The Maw, Shadow Behemoth, and Fire Elemental) or too laggy to really finish (In the case of the dragons). The only ones that seem to still be equal in the case of effort/reward are the Shrines in Orr. They are still a bit tricky to do, the bosses don’t die ikitteneconds like the first three, and the general dislike of Orr by the community and the lack of a regular timer for the events like the Dragons means you don’t have everyone running to them all at once.

The Shrine events are what ANet has been intending with this patch. Unfortunately the timed events in low-level areas just weren’t working right due to predictability and high turnover.
